To end the show we play audio Jared Stansbury of Cyclone Fanatic sent us from Iowa State Football Media Day.
The guys chat about what the Chicago Bears should do with their quarterback situation and look at if the schedule allows a good spot to switch Dalton and Fields. After chatting about the State Fair starting this week, NFL camps rolling and the Olympics being over. They also discuss Limp Bizkit, stipulations for those buying tickets to the Field of Dreams game and a caller wonders who should throw out the first pitch in that game. Ross brings up that the scarcity factor is real and the Field of Dreams game could get watered down while things like Girls Scout Cookies, the McRib and Spotted Cow all are helped by being hard to find.
The guys roll into the second hour discussing more college football and the Des Moines Register's Chad Leistikow joins the show to discuss his three hour interview with Kirk Ferentz that will be put up for consumption soon as well as his thoughts on conference realignment. Erick Zamora starts off the hour with some awful news in the hockey world before explaining how eight years ago the college hockey world was flipped upside down but there are a number of comparisons to the Big 12 situation, with Iowa State currently eerily in a similar spot to how his St. Cloud State was then. He also gets into the MLB trade deadline approaching and how he doesn't want his Dodgers to make any big moves. Erick wraps up the show talking about more of the college athletics uncertainty.
