Protesters gathered at the Olmsted County Government Center Monday to demand charges against a woman who directed a racist slur at a child last week. Rochester police said this morning they completed an investigation into a viral video of the incident. They sent their findings to the city attorney's office, which will decide whether to charge the woman. The situation has drawn national attention and outrage.This is the third incident of racial slurs making news in Rochester in about the last year or so. This behavior is not only unacceptable—it's unchristian. As followers of Christ, we are called to be above reproach (1 Timothy 3:2), especially when dealing with the next generation. God will not judge us by our skin color, so why are we so quick to judge others by theirs? We can simultaneously be aware of the statistics about certain cultures within particular races, and realize that this is not how we handle those problems. Kelly is not endorsing anyone for  President, but he is issuing a warning about his former boss. The second story is from The Atlantic, and it is a lengthy article, "Trump: ‘I Need the Kind of Generals That Hitler Had' The Republican nominee's preoccupation with dictators, and his disdain for the American military, is deepening." It is written by Jeffrey Goldberg. But that story begins with a racial slur about "Mexicans." Even though the army private who was brutally murdered was an American of Mexican Heritage. That is where I begin my Political Woman Podcast. Note: The Trump campaign has denied that Trump used the Racial Slur in this story. But The Atlantic and every other publication I've read is repeating the story.

On April 6th, 2023, a startling scene played out on a baseball field in Fort Myers, Florida. Shortly after the start of the annual rivalry game against nearby Estero High School, nearly the entire roster for Fort Myers High School, along with the coaching staff, walked off the field, leaving two teammates of color behind. According to witnesses on the scene, chaos ensued, as parents on both sides of the divide began trading insults.  That incident was the latest manifestation of racial tensions that have existed in Fort Myers for decades.
