In this episode of All Things Unexplained, we examine the new documentary Age of Disclosure and place it alongside recent public statements from military officials, intelligence insiders, and elected leaders openly discussing UAPs and non-human intelligence.By juxtaposing these claims with Senator Marco Rubio's recent comments on the Hannity Show, we explore what this moment really represents: genuine disclosure, strategic messaging, psychological operations, or something even more complex.Rather than telling listeners what to believe, this episode presents what our leaders are actually saying — and asks what it all might mean.Watch the full video.Subscribe to All Things Unexplained on YouTube: @allthingsunexplained Links:BREAKING Nuclear Drone UFO UAP Incursion + NEW PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
People collect all kinds of things, from baseball cards to Persian rugs. Over the past 40 years, some NASA aircraft have collected dust – grains of dust from beyond Earth. Many of the collection efforts have taken place during meteor showers. That’s included the Geminid shower, which is at its peak tonight. A meteor shower takes place when Earth flies through a trail of particles that were shed by a comet or asteroid. Many of the particles burn up in the upper atmosphere, creating the streaks of light known as meteors. But many more grains are too small to burn up. They float down through the atmosphere. Some of them stop at a height of about 10 miles. And that’s where the research aircraft head. Once there, they open up small boxes that catch whatever is drifting along – pollen grains, parts of bugs, bits of volcanic ash, and even exhaust from rocket engines. Analysis reveals whether the captured particles are from Earth or from outside. The cosmic particles can then be tied to the meteor shower that was under way. And that can tell scientists about the shower’s parent body – a sample-return mission that never leaves Earth. The Geminids are in good view tonight. The meteors are visible from mid-evening on. At its best, the shower might produce a hundred or so meteors per hour. And you don’t need to look in a particular direction to see them – just look up and wait for the fireworks. THIS WEEK: Meteor (1979) and Outland (1981)We were short on time this week, so we turned to Steve's list of drunken half-formed ideas. Hence we're discussing two Sean Connery that vaguely deal with outer space. Does one of them take place entirely in mundane offices right here on planet Earth? You bet.Donate to Palestinian Medical Aid Support Optimism Vaccine on Patreon
Under perfect conditions, up to 120 meteors per hour could shoot across the night sky this Saturday and Sunday when the Geminids reach their peak. Also, veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Coates writes for The Spruce Pets that not all dogs need winter jackets, but many do. Dogs that benefit the most include small breeds, puppies, senior dogs, and pets with health conditions. Short-haired breeds or any dog in the miniature category may also need an extra layer when temperatures drop. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

A couple of thousand years ago, a large asteroid or comet might have been blasted apart. And we’re still seeing the fireworks from its destruction – as the Geminid meteor shower, which will reach its peak tomorrow night. Most meteor showers flare to life when Earth passes through the orbital path of a comet. The comet sheds bits of rock and dirt, which spread out along its orbit. As Earth flies through this trail of debris, the solid grains ram into the atmosphere, forming the glowing streaks known as meteors. But the Geminids are a bit odd. For one thing, their parent body – 3200 Phaethon – appears to be an asteroid or a “dead” comet, not an active comet. For another, the meteor stream contains way more material than we’d expect to see from a body the size of Phaethon. A couple of years ago, scientists came up with a possible explanation. They used observations by a Sun-orbiting spacecraft that passed through the meteor stream. They then used computer models to calculate a possible cause for the stream. They concluded that a larger body could have been destroyed. That produced Phaethon and a couple of other large remnants. But it also produced a giant cloud of dust and pebbles. So while some of the material that makes up the Geminids comes from Phaethon, a lot of it also comes from that cloud – shrapnel that makes fireworks in Earth’s night sky. More about the Geminids tomorrow. Script by Damond Benningfield

Astronomers say conditions could make for an especially striking show of the Geminid meteor shower this weekend, if weather permits. The meteors will be visible all over the world, though the Northern Hemisphere will get the best views. Alan Giltinan, Centre Manager at Blackrock Castle Observatory, briefed Rachel on this rare celestial event.
The Geminid meteor shower is set to light up the sky this weekend with up to 120 dazzling meteors per hour.
The Geminid meteor shower, widely regarded as the biggest and best meteor shower of the year, will peak this Sunday night, December 14th, running into the early hours of Monday.
Get the essential update on this week's space events with ANU Astrophysicist Dr. Brad Tucker. He outlines the perfect timing and location for witnessing the Geminids meteor shower, one of the year's most reliable displays. Geoff Clayton is an Astronomer at the Maria Mitchell Association. This week Geoff talks about what a meteor shower is and how to see it.
At about 2AM on July 18, 2011 several people in near Tata, Morocco saw a bright fireball which was described by one of them to be initially yellow, then turned green, and finally exploded into several pieces producing two sonic booms. In October of 2011 desert wandering nomads began finding very fresh looking dark fusion-crusted stones which were radioactively dated by Dr. John Duke of the University of Alberta to be less than 5 years old. In total 15-24 lbs of meteorites consistent with a very recent fall were found in a strewn field, were whisk away to receive high prices from collectors, and named after the town of Tissint [tee.seent] about 30 miles from their discovery location.

On episode 199 I am delighted to be joined by Grace Prenter, freshman at the University of Texas. One of the most exciting young talents to emerge from the island of Ireland Grace is grew up playing in south Dublin. She took to many sports including basketball at Meteors, Gaelic football in Kilmacud Crokes and athletics with Dundrum South Dublin athletics club. However basketball took over as she honed her craft not only with her club but during extra sessions with her family whenever they could find an open gym. Despite an early set back she progressed through the Irish underage system. From winning the AICCs in 2022, to multiple national cup wins, super league at 16, and representing her country across multiple age groups at the FIBA European Championships. In 2023 she become a key figure in Irish international squads with two of her teams finishing in the top 6 at the U18 and U20 levels in 2023 and 2025. She dreamed of playing college basketball in the US and planned a prep year after completing her leaving cert last summer. However a call from the University of Texas changed her path. She would soon commit to Coach Vic and the longhorns following a visit to campus where she began in late August. We recorded this episode on campus in Austin at the Kevin Durant Basketball center. We sat overlooking the Austin skyline from the team film room discussing her path to the states, life in Texas and being a longhorn. We also uncover the setbacks, and opportunities she has embraced along the way. Since recording this episode in person Grace won the Players Era thanksgiving tournament in Las Vegas. The longhorns beat both UCLA and South Carolina to claim the trophy and have since been ranked 2nd in the country. Grace is the first ever Irish player to be part of the Texas program. Her path was built on determination, self belief and hard work. But also thanks to the support and strength of those around her including family and friends. Her work rate has outshot her evident talent as continues to maximise all of her opportunities. It's safe to say the future is bright for young Prenter. Meteors, shooting stars, or falling stars are different names for the streaks of light in the night sky which are in reality the dying embers of tiny asteroids. These small interplanetary travelers were speeding along at between 7 and 44 miles per second when they entered the Earth's atmosphere. In space, they are called meteoroids and typically ranged in size from that of a grain of sand to perhaps ones as big as of a piece of driveway gravel. Large space pebbles can produce fireballs which are brighter than the planet Venus. Most meteors burn up 50-70 miles above you, however, a very few of them produce fragments which fall to the Earth's surface. In rare occasions meteor observers are able to walk up to such a fallen space rock which is called a fall. The best time to view meteors is generally after midnight on a clear, moonless night. You will see many more meteors in a rural area than under city lights. On nights not during a meteor shower, you may expect to view sporadic meteors at the rate of between 2 and 16 per hour. Some meteor showers produce more than 100 events per hour. Rarely you will have a chance to view a meteor storm which will give you the feeling that you are seeing the Earth move through space. In 1966 one of these storms produced a WOW inspiring 40 meteors per second. During the year, there are a dozen major meteor showers. Check out the International Meteor Organization Calendar for a complete listing of the dates of meteor showers as well as how bright the moon will be on those dates. Happy viewing.

"Ja to neizdarīs Rietumu apvienība, ķīnieši 2030. gadā noteikti to izdarīs.

On a busy night of asteroid hunting with the 90 inch, University of Arizona's Steward Observatory Bok telescope on Kitt Peak in Arizona, my Catalina Sky Survey teammate Vivian Carvajal discovered 13 new Earth approaching objects. One of them now known as 2025 TF immediately got her attention as it streaked through the constellation of Pegasus. Another space rock 2020 VT4 came about 30 miles closer to the surface of our home planet giving 2025 TF second place as a grazing non impactor.
Jupiter has been observed throughout human history and is so bright that you can even spot it under the artificial light dome of one of our cities. Even so it is less than 40 years ago that we were first able to view Jupiter in detail as the Voyagers streaked by it. Jupiter contains more than twice the mass of all of the other planets, dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets in our solar system combined. Eons ago, our solar systems very own giant planet, Jupiter, appears to have cleared out the inner solar system leaving enough rocky debris to form Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Without Jupiter's action our solar system is likely to have turned out like the more than half of the planetary systems which we have found which consist of non-inhabitable super Earth sized planets orbiting closely about their host stars. In terms of the defense of planet Earth from impacting objects, Jupiter is a mixed blessing. It apparently deflects some of the long period comets out of Earth impacting orbits while sending other asteroids and comets our way. In 1770 a small comet came in from the outer solar system and passed near Jupiter. This encounter sent it straight towards Earth. Fortunately this celestial visitor missed humanity by about a million miles. After two orbits of the Sun this small comet once again passed near Jupiter and was ejected from the solar system. Look up where to find Jupiter on the internet and observe it. Jupiter is an awesome sight in binoculars or a small telescope. As you view this gas giant think about the fact that it is likely the reason you have a place to stand and air to breathe.

In a recent 60 day period asteroid hunters tracked 24 space rocks which came closer than our Moon. My team the University of Arizona's Catalina Sky Survey operates 5 telescopes in the mountains around Tucson, Arizona. Our goal is to find objects like 2025 RM1 which are on an impact trajectory with our home planet in advance so that people in the effected area can be warned to stay away from doors and windows.
Throughout history small close approaching space rocks have been a part of our environment. Now, thanks to improved telescopes and cameras, asteroid hunters are routinely discovering these small asteroids as they pass closer than the Moon is to us. Since these tiny asteroids are only bright enough to detect for a few days out of their long, many month duration paths about the Sun, astronomers have had difficulty in determining how many of these small space rocks may exist in near Earth space. This effort received more emphasis when a house sized space rock exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013 releasing about 10 times the energy of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. Although this asteroid was tiny compared to the one that ended the dinosaurs rule of the planet, the air blast the Chelyabinsk bolide produced caused nearly 1,500 human injuries and damaged more than 7,000 buildings. In a 2017 paper in the Astronomical Journal, Dr. David Trilling of Northern Arizona University and his group of researchers present data from the Blanco 4 meter telescope at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile which they use to estimate that there are approximately 3.2 million Earth approaching asteroids similar in size to the Chelyabinsk impactor. My team the Catalina Sky Survey uses 4 telescopes, 24 nights per month, in the mountains north of Tucson, Arizona with the goal to provide warnings for people to stay away from doors and windows should a Chelyabinsk sized space rock be on an impact trajectory with planet Earth.

The patchiest of all meteor showers will be at its best tomorrow night. Unfortunately, this is one of its off years. At best, it might produce a dozen or so “shooting stars” per hour. Over the past two centuries, though, the Leonids have produced some amazing outbursts. The first of these came in 1833. Skywatchers in parts of America reported rates of a hundred thousand meteors per hour – not a shower, but a storm. The nature of meteor showers was unknown at the time, so many saw the outburst as the end of the world. The Leonids flare to life when Earth crosses the path of Comet Tempel-Tuttle. The comet passes close to the Sun every 33 years or so. It sheds tons of material on each pass – tiny bits of rock and dirt. Each cloud of debris spreads out and forms its own stream. A shower takes place when Earth flies through one of the streams. Newer streams are denser, so they produce more intense displays. Those streams congregate near the comet, so the outbursts occur when the comet is close to the Sun. The last outburst came in the early 2000s. And Earth probably won’t pass through another storm-producing stream until the end of the century – leaving us with meager displays of the Leonids. To see this year’s display, find a safe viewing site away from city lights. The meteors can appear anywhere in the sky, so you don’t need to look in a particular direction to see them. The best view comes between midnight and dawn. Script by Damond Benningfield
Contemporary estimates suggest that up to 100,000 meteors per hour may have been visible at the Great Storm's peak shortly before dawn on 13 ...
