Zum einen den Western "American Primeval" (22:29) über ein vergessenes Kapitel US-Geschichte, das Mormone, Indigene und das US-Militär auf Konfrontationskurs brachte, zum anderen die zweite Staffel des Megahits "The Night Agent" (39:53). Kann der Actionhit um einen jungen Agenten und eine Zivilisten an die Qualität und den Erfolg der erste zehn Folgen aus dem Jahr 2023 anknüpfen? Im Bereich Politthriller spielt auch "Paradise" (3:44) von Disney+ wobei Rüdiger hier auch Parallelen zu "This Is Us" entdeckt haben will - nicht nur, weil es mit Dan Fogelman als Showrunner und Sterling K. Brown als Hauptdarsteller zwei personelle Überschneidungen gibt. Auch wenn wir bei unserer Diskussion aus Spoilergründen einen wichtigen Handlungspunkt ausklammern müssen, versuchen wir zu erklären, warum es der erste Überraschungshit des Jahres werden könnte. Haben dazu auch die anderen zwei Disney-Neustarts der Woche das Potenzial? Zum einen die schwedische Politsatire "Whiskey on the Rocks" (58:35), die aus Ronald Reagan und Leonid Breschnew zwei historische Witzfiguren macht, zum anderen die neueste Marvel-Animationsserie "Der freundliche Spider-Man aus der Nachbarschaft" (1:10:28) Cold-Open-Frage: "Wer könnte im Netflix-Reboot von ,Unsere kleine Farm' die Hauptrollen spielen?"

Yesterday, we received news via Deadline about a One Tree Hill reboot coming to Netflix, with Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush and Danneel Ackles producing the series and reprising their roles from the OG. Of course, we had to record an emergency podcast to unpack this! We chat about our complicated feelings about this. Will it do the characters justice? What about Haley?
