On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what when on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th March (Episodes #11,513 - 11,518) This week, as the truth begins to come out about the true nature of last week's hit and run, David finds himself in a spot of bother with Kit - just what lengths will the bent copper go to, to make him pay? Meanwhile, Cassie seeks forgiveness for poisoning Ken - pity for her that Tracy's more interested in getting revenge than giving her a chance at redemption. Also this week, Rob's still at large, Yasmeen flits to the Big Smoke and Ed's got a plan to change Dee-Dee's mind about putting the baby up for adoption... Up next on the podcast it's the news, and we get all excited about the newly announced Audience With Coronation Street tour, before rounding things off with a spot of listener feedback. Welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air! We're a little later this week than usual because we decided to record this episode in person in London. We discuss several topics, but we end with a brief holiday gift guide. Our watch content starts after approximately 20 minutes. It's holiday gift guide season but also the last Time4APint of the year in London. Balazs has made the journey into the Big Smoke and we've decided to record in his hotel. We exchanged some gifts before the episode, are prepped for the night's festivities, and have holiday gift guide suggestions.HandgelenkskontrolleThis week's Handgelenkskontrolle is complicated because we mention the watches on our wrists and several we brought for the evening's get-together. Balazs has brought the new Nivada Grenchen F77 Collection Ceramic, a stunning watch that starts at just €1,370 with a full ceramic case and bracelet. Mike has his Ming 37.02 Minimalist on an olive Jean Rousseau Barenia leather strap. We've listened to previous requests and have included a picture of all the watches discussed in the episode. From left to right, a '50s Tissot, an Omega 27 Chro, a Lemania 27 Chro, a Breitling Chronomat 769, an Angelus 250, an Angelus Chronodato Luxe, and a Gruen Ocean Chief.Holiday gift guideFor the holiday gift guide, we each mention three different items. Some our watch-related, while others are great for daily life or travel. We mention the following:On Cloudmonster running shoes — Balazs swears by them and Mike needs to give them a try!The Fratello x Bergeon Mini Tool — both of us own one and it's a great stocking stufferThe Star 69 straps from Joseph Bonnie — these look like rubber Tropic straps, but are made of leatherTreating yourself to a bespoke strap from the likes of Delugs or Handdn — there's nothing like a tailored strap to pair with your favorite watchThe book, Chronographs for Collectors — we reviewed this in 2016 and it's a fantastic gift! Finally, the Rimowa Pilot Case — an expensive splurge, but such a cool piece for travel or storing camera gearThanks so much for listening and we'll be back next week with a new episode! If you have ideas for future show topics, please let us know.

Ashley, 31 from England. I got into bbq by mistake, having bought an offset smoker accidentally. I intended to buy a cheap charcoal grill but had no experience or knowledge in what I was buying. That was in the summer of 2020, fast forward 2 years from then and I started my own home takeaway bbq business, and then fast forward another 2 years and we've just done 16 pop up catering events and a wedding this year. We've been on the meat and greet bbq podcast, and met Evan LeRoy & Bradley Robinson (chuds bbq) and I'm hoping to visit Texas next year with several bbq joints confirming that they'd be happy to have me work there whilst I visit, including LeRoy & Lewis, Hurtado BBQ and Bar-A-bbq. I am getting people visit from hours away to try our bbq and someone from New Jersey was in the area visiting and they made the effort to visit our pop up and said how they were blown away by it. I work full time still at the moment and have a Fiance and an 8 month old son, so it's been a juggling act so far this year. I have no previous catering experience or restaurant experience either. Just one man accidentally falling head first into this crazy world of bbq. I focus on central Texas style cooking on an offset imported from Houston, using strictly Oak.

Having grown up on a farm Leila McDougall finished school, and headed straight to the big city lights of Sydney to study fashion design. Home on the farm was never far from her thoughts though with fashion being a pathway brought about from years on the sheep farm and a want to use the Australian Wool she was so familiar with. The Big Smoke charm wore off though and it wasn't long before the country came calling, with Leila settling down with now husband in  down in rural NE Victoria. In this podcast Leila speak openly and articulately as she credits her fathers willingness to talk mental health and his struggles as why her life has since taken a vocational turn towards championing mental health.  Leila's mother also attempted to take her own life so with real life lived experience, Leila has become a fierce mental health advocate not just for farmers but for all of rural Australia. This manifested into a Mellow in the Yellow or MITY as it is known. MITY is an annual event, now in its 8th year that celebrated Aussie Farming communities by hosting a day out in a flowering canola crop. The funds raised are distributed into various community incentives that aim to strengthen the health and well being of farmers as well as encouraging conversations around Mental health. Not content at that Leila has now moved her talents onto the big screen in her newly released film "Just a Farmer". Just a Farmer is a fictional movie, that Leila wrote and which she starts in,  playing the lead character. The film touches on some very real and powerful messages about farming and rural mental health and even had input from Hollywood Star Hugh Jackman along the way. We hope you this chat with Leila but be please be warned, there are triggers in the conversation which are around mental health themes and suicide.  Hosts: Sam Baff and Jayde Timms from Grown Not FlownGuest: Leila McDougall - Writer and Star - "Just A Farmer"Related Websites: www.justafarmer.net & www.mellowintheyellow.com.auWatch YouTube trailer - "Just a Farmer"

Annabelle Hickson, editor of the award-winning independent print magazine GALAH. Despite having no publishing or business experience, Annabelle started the magazine from her kitchen table to document regional Australia and the people who live there. In the past, young people left country towns to find opportunities in the Big Smoke. But the big rural story of the past few years is where young people returned. The Covid-19 pandemic supercharged the regions in a way that surprised Australians. Nearly a third of Australians, over 7 million, now live outside the cities. The latest quarterly data shows that more people are moving out to the regions than back into cities. Capital-to-regional migration is tracking at 11.7 per cent above the pre-pandemic average. Sydney accounted for a whopping 80 per cent of all people moving from capitals to regions, up from 61 per cent in the previous 12 months. Millennials are the largest group making the move. So what is life actually like outside of the cities? Annabelle Hickson is the embodiment of the Australian tree-changer.Annabelle didn't plan to live in regional Australia, but she fell in love with a handsome farmer from western NSW and thought she'd give it a shot. She knew there'd be some sacrifices - her journalism career at The Australian, the beach and takeaway food that is still hot by the time you get home - but she had no idea how many opportunities there would be for her in this new life, too. While her husband Ed planted pecan trees, Annabelle looked after their three young children and began to learn what it was to be part of a community, all in it together. She saw smart, clever and resilient people everywhere she looked who talked about opportunities instead of limitations. This was in stark contrast to the simple-country-people stereotypes she'd bought into in the city. Annabelle wanted to read stories from regional Australia that weren't about disadvantage.  Stories that reflected her sense of luck at living out of the city. And she wanted a publication that acted as a bridge between the city and country divide. So, she made Galah the magazine. For the first time, Annabelle has collected the most loved and enduring stories from all issues of her award-winning magazine in book form - GALAH: Stories of Life Outside the City, published by Murdoch books The changing face of regional and rural Australia1. From September, 1949 through February 1957, Dragnet's 30 minute shows, broadcast on NBC, brought to radio true police stories in a low-key, documentary style. Dragnet was perhaps the most famous and influential police procedural drama in American media history. The series gave millions of Americans a feel for the boredom and drudgery, as well as the danger and heroism, of real life police work. Dragnet earned praise for improving the public opinion of police officers. It's a fantastic time of year if you're a wrestling fan. WWE Royal Rumble is like Round 1 of the Stanley Cup or NFL Playoffs as the company heads towards WrestleMania and we love talking with our pal Kevin Michie. But before we do - we have to discuss his recent involvement with the big new show in town in Toronto. Kev is lending his expertise to the PWHL franchise in The Big Smoke. What's he up to and how is it going so far?Later talk turns to this week's announcement that WWE will be moving Monday Night Raw to Netflix. What does this mean for Canadian wrestling fans? What does it mean for Sportsnet? And did Rogers see this coming ahead of time and is that why we've seen them jump back in on the UFC?And finally we get in to some of the great stories WWE could tap in to during this weekend's Royal Rumble. CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, The Rock and so many others might play a huge part in Saturday's festivities. It's a jam-packed edition of the show and you're not going to want to miss it.Here's Kevin Michie's chat with Jey Uso that we ferenced on the show: https://www.sportsnet.ca/wwe/article/royal-rumble-2024-preview-whats-the-waffle-house-got-to-do-with-it/“Hockey Superstars Annual - 2023/2024” by Paul Romanuk: https://amzn.to/3RpLq4qLeafs 365 by Mike Commito: https://amzn.to/3sJqxJpKen Reid's Hometown Hockey Heroes: https://amzn.to/49mYgso”Freedom To Win” by Ethan Scheiner: https://amzn.to/40ucdATSmash - The 90s Punk Explosion: https://amzn.to/49lgE4VFollow TCA on bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/tallcanaudio.bsky.socialFollow TCA on Threads: https://www.threads.net/@tallcanaudioFollow TCA on Twitter: https://twitter.com/tallcanaudioFollow TCA on Instagram: https://instagram.com/tallcanaudio?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Follow TCA on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tallcanaudio

Episode 0055: Smoke Up 212What's Good famiglia?! How we doing out there?! This week we have a special Eastcoast/New York City edition! I got a chance to sit down with the Homie Gordo of Smoke Up 212. Gordo is straight out of L.E.S. (Lower East Side) Manhattan. he's been moving and shaking through the streets of New York City for a long time Folks. There was mentions of him being only 11 years old in White Boy Kev's Haze Garden back in the day. That immediately got my attention and told me everything I needed to know about his start in the game. Gordo and his 3 brothers were raised by his grandparents. The homie had to grow up fast and he's been living on his own since he was only 16. He started Smoke Up Gang some years back and has stamped himself as one of the true NYC legacy brands after putting in years of work with the cannabis plant. He sources only the finest candy crosses and Z crosses from living soil only gardens. I thought that was a nice spin on the current Candy wave. From what I can tell, he's well-known east to west coast, and anyone I've come across speak very highly of him. It was dope to chop it up and learn about his story while we were chillin in City of Flowers dispensary (Big up and thanks again for hosting us!) while smoking the finest flowers of course! You guys are going to see a lot more from my NY Cugino Gordo, that's a fact! Yall know what time it it… Roll em fat, torch those rigs, pack your bongs, and get ready to take this ride through the city with the homie Big Smoke 212! Ain't nobody smoking like the Gang! Peace, Love, & Good PizzZa,JPSupport the showShop Merch: goodpizzza.comInstagram: @good.p1zzzaInstagram: @goodpizzzapodcastShow some love: patreon.com/goodpizzza

Welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air where we discuss our recent picks of the best watches under €5,000. We apologize for the late publishing of this week's episode, but travel is back in season. Get ready for another candid episode with our usual pre-topic banter!Recently, Balazs and I contributed to a running topic on Fratello about the best watches under €5,000. Articles like this always generate a fair amount of feedback which we greatly appreciate. We discuss our picks, some of the feedback, and how the industry has changed. In particular, some of our favorite brands are now priced out of this all-important spending cap. Still, there are some fantastic new and used watches out there.Kettle KiteThis week, we are coming to you from the Big Apple and the Big Smoke! Before getting to the kettle kite and our main topic of watches under €5,000, we talk about a recent Longines meetup in London. We also discuss how important face-to-face gatherings are to keep interest alive in vintage watches. Balazs is currently in the USA and will be for the next week. He's wearing his faithful G-Shock (similar to, but not exactly the model above). Mike is wearing a watch he has in for review, the Ollech & Wajs OW M-110 AS. It's a great watch that we will feature soon enough on the site. Our picks under €5,000Next, we come to the main topic of our favorite watches under €5,000. Mike published his article first and chose pieces from Seiko, Breitling, Nomos, and Breguet. Balazs came with his article a couple of weeks later and chose entries from Grand Seiko, Ming, and Omega. He also threw in various vintage chronograph options. We discuss why we chose these models along with some of the comments we received. Finally, we discuss how brands like Omega and Rolex no longer play in this market if we are looking at retail prices. A lot has changed within the past several years indeed! As always, thank you for listening! If you have any ideas for future shows, please feel free to let us know!

Clark assembled a 100-page guide to Dublin for Irish Illustrated ahead of the Saturday, Aug. 26 game vs. the Midshipmen at Aviva Stadium. The two teams last played at The Pale for 2012's season opener, a season that ended with the Irish losing to Alabama in the BCS National Championship game. Beyond Clark's guide to Ireland, Notre Dame football beat writers Mike Berardino, and Austin Hough talk through South Bend Tribune and NDInsider.com staff predictions regarding Notre Dame's upcoming 2023 season, as well as this year's choices for team captains.
