Kahlil Robert Irving (b. 1992, San Diego, CA) is an artist currently living and working in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Art, Washington University, St. Louis (MFA, 2017), and the Kansas City Art Institute (BFA, Art History and Ceramics, 2015). In 2017, Callicoon Fine Arts mounted his first solo exhibition in New York titled Streets:Chains:Cocktails. September 8, Irving opened Black ICE at Callicoon Fine Arts, which will be Irving’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. His work has been exhibited at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas; the Craft Contemporary, Los Angeles; and the RISD Museum, Rhode Island, among others. Irving was selected to participate in the 2019 Great Rivers Biennial hosted by the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, where he will have a solo exhibition in May 2020. His work is in the collections of J.P Morgan Chase Art Collection, New York; Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas; the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. In 2018, Irving’s first institutional solo exhibition, Street Matter – Decay & Forever / Golden Age took place at Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts, Connecticut, and was accompanied by a full-color catalogue with essays and an interview. Irving's work will be featured in Making Knowing: Craft in Art, 1950–2019, upcoming at the Whitney Museum in New York City (November 20, 2019–January 2021). Growth retardation, delayed puberty, decreased bone mass, altered bone architecture, hypovitaminosis D and skeletal muscle mass deficits are common in children with inflammatory bowel diseases. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America sponsored a multidisciplinary workshop on the subject of Bone and Skeletal Growth in Pediatric IBD, held in New York City in November 2011. The topic of the workshop was a key recommendation of the Foundation's Pediatric Challenges meeting in 2005. The Litwin Foundation provided a generous grant to support this crucial research and workshop through the CCFA. The workshop featured 15 presentations by researchers from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, and the United Kingdom and a number of posters elucidating diverse aspects of the problem of growth retardation and compromised bone health in pediatric Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The workshop comprised original, basic, and clinical research and relevant reviews of underlying genetics, molecular biology, endocrinology, immunology, and bone physiology research. Investigators funded by CCFA and the Litwin Family Foundation are marked by an asterisk after their name in the text. Workshop presentations fell under 3 broad categories: Mechanisms of Suppression and Growth of Bone Cell Function by Inflammation, Impact of IBD on Growth and Bone Health, and Approaches to Address Growth Failure and Low Bone Mass in Children with IBD, summarized herein. We have cited the publications that resulted from this granting mechanism in the appropriate section and references for pertinent updates on each topic.

Many people in the OWASP community don't know Dennis Groves... and that's a surprise since he is one of the co-founders of the movement. I was able to catch up with Dennis at AppSec USA in New York City (November 19, 2013) and we had an interesting discussion about the beginnings of OWASP and what he sees in the future. He is particularly interested in risk, randomness, and uncertainty. He holds an MSc in Information Security from the University of Royal Holloway where his thesis received a distinction. He is currently a UK expert for the UK mirror of ISO subcommittee 27, IT Security Techniques, working group 4, Security Controls and Services at the British Standards Institute. He is most well known for co-founding OWASP. His contributions to OWASP include the ‘OWASP Guide (v1)’ downloaded over 2 million times; now a reference document in the PCI DSS standard, and the de-facto standard for securing web applications. He is a thought leader in the web application security space, where he has spent the last decade of his career. Dennis Groves has been an Security Architect, Ethical Hacker, Web Application Security Consultant, IT Security Consultant, System Administrator, Network Administrator, and a Software Engineer. He has taught various courses on information security and is best known for his ability to bring fresh insight to difficult security problems.
