A federal judge on Thursday sentenced Roger Stone, a veteran Republican operative and President Donald Trump's longtime confidant, to more than three years in prison for obstructing a congressional inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. The Stone sentencing set off speculation of when President Trump might grant Stone a pardon. Trump issued 11 high-profile pardons earlier this week but said he was holding off for now. Before handing down the sentence, Judge Amy Berman Jackson criticized the administration for its handling of the case, calling Barr's intervention "unprecedented" and Trump's repeated public comments "entirely inappropriate." Criminal defense attorney and former CIA officer Jack Rice discusses the unusual nature of a judge excoriating a president. Plus, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Saudi King Salman discussed security issues presented by Iran Thursday in Riyadh. One day before the meeting, Pompeo told reporters he was ready to negotiate with Iran, but was not in rush to sit with Iranian officials at the bargaining table. Those stories and more are all on this International Edition.
Obstructing Justice, profiting from the Presidency, advocating political and police violence, abuse of power, attacking the free press, violating campaign finance laws. What do all of these things have in common? Two things: they are all generally understood to be "impeachable offenses," and they are all things Donald Trump managed to do within the first 26 months of his Presidency. Some of them on a daily basis. Yet through it all, the Democrats in Washington DC never took action--never held him accountable. They, under the guidance of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, did literally all they could to NOT go down the road of impeachment. In July of 2019, however, Trump went ahead and made that impossible. And that's where our story begins...
*** Which coverup is the real coverup and what is that cover up - covering up??? There are so many layers to this story. From the CNN piece the day BEFORE the Mueller hearing blaming Obama of all people for Russia hacking our election. If Mueller didn't lead his investigation, who did? Andrew Weissman? And what about his record of destroying the lives of people to get cooperation to destroy the lives of people higher up? Wendy Arthur had The Art Report 30 minutes in and we talked about the first Action Radio Art Scavenger Hunt. Check the Action Radio Art Project page for details. Then we had this very intense discussion of the corruption of Child Protective Services and Social Security Title IV money driving the corruption starting 45 minutes in. Marcus Echols, guest of Michael Volpe our Family Law reporter really got into it over 50% shared custody and fathers rights. I had to play referee. Ugh. In the last 30 minutes I went back to the CNN article and tried to reason out and decipher why this opinion was published in the first place? Is this the next coverup to cover the Uranium One scandal, or the Ukraine, or the real Russian Collusion between Hillary, the Democrats and the Russians? We'll pick this up again tomorrow. Josie our Latina World reporter had a great call 20 ish minutes in on Puerto Rico, the Clintons and Haiti. *** Correction: The CNN article was written July 23rd, two days ago, not April. How many Liberal MPs may decide to not run again in October? At present Ontario Liberal MPs John Oliver, Ted Hsu and Celina Caesar-0Chavannes, as well as New Brunswick Liberal MP T.J. Harvey, have announced they will not seek re-election. Three weeks ago, former Liberal MP Dan McTeague predicted that we would see announcements like this. His family made the decision to donate Logan's organs. Six people across Canada had their lives saved or improved as recipients of Logan Boulet's organs. The family and the Canadian Transplant Association has declared April 7, 2019 (and the years going forward) to be known as Green Shirt Day, a day dedicated to promoting organ donation awareness, while honouring the "Logan Boulet effect." Almost 100,000 Canadians signed their organ donor cards in the provinces with online registration in the days after the decision made by the Boulet family. - Guests: Michael Cooper David Butt, Toronto criminal lawyer and former Crown prosecutor Dan McTeague, former Liberal MP, GasBuddy .Com Toby Boulet, Logan Boulet's father Linda Leatherdale, Vice President of Cambria Canada, Former Money editor with the Toronto Sun See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On Friday, four officers were found not guilty of obstructing justice and fabricating evidence. This was in regard to allegations that they wrote fake tickets that targeted people downtown.
