On Sunday, May 31, 2026 hundreds gathered together at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on the campus of San Diego State University to celebrate the life of SDSU Alumnus and Super Fan, Chet Carney. In this episode we present our audio recording of the ceremony featuring speakers: Don Jones, Sarah Eishen, Jim Herrick, Steve Fisher, Brian Dutcher, and Michael Brunker. Chet Carney enrolled at San Diego State in the late 1970s where he was an SDSU yell leader for the 1978-79 athletic year. He returned to the role in the early 1980s, leading cheers from the football field at the school's request. When that ended, Carney became an unofficial cheerleader for the school he loved — and arguably SDSU's most recognizable fan.

In a chilling new episode of Break the Case, retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer takes listeners deep inside one of the most haunting true crime stories of the year — the mysterious death of Celeste Rivas. Once reported as a missing person, Rivas was later found deceased inside the frunk of a Tesla belonging to her boyfriend, the artist known as D4VD (David). But the details emerging now raise more questions than ever about what really happened in the days leading up to her death. Coffindaffer meticulously reconstructs the case, combining confirmed evidence with new claims from private investigator Steve Fisher. According to Fisher, who became involved after concerns from the landlord of the property where David was staying, critical documents from the original search warrant were never returned or shared — a procedural gap that led him to dig deeper. He claims his investigation uncovered surveillance footage, witness accounts, and digital evidence that point directly toward David's involvement, even as questions swirl about whether others may have helped conceal the crime. Jennifer walks through every disturbing layer — from Rivas' on-again, off-again disappearance, to the chilling discovery of her body in the Tesla's compact front compartment. She examines the implausibility of one small man acting alone, the eerie behavior surrounding the abandoned car, and the inconsistencies in statements that continue to puzzle investigators. With exclusive photos, expert insight, and a methodical review of the evidence, Break the Case delivers a gripping look at how investigators and independent researchers are closing in on the truth. As Coffindaffer reminds viewers, in true crime — every clue, every camera, and every unanswered question can break the case wide open. #CelesteRivas #JenniferCoffindaffer #TrueCrime #BreakTheCase #TeslaMystery #DavidD4VD #MissingPerson #CrimeInvestigation #JusticeForCeleste #TrueCrimeCommunity Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Dr. Ja-Nae Duane is a behavioral scientist, entrepreneur, award-winning innovator and author of the new book, “SuperShifts: Transforming How We Live, Learn, and Work in the Age of Intelligence”. Mike Petrusky asks Ja-Nae about the book in which she and her co-author, futurist Steve Fisher, deliver an incisive overview of how we are at the end of one 200-year arc and embarking on another. Mike and Ja-Nae discuss the new age of intelligence and the various catalysts for change currently affecting individuals, businesses, and society. They explore specific areas impacting our workplaces and built environment which are evolving from centralized, industrial models to more flexible, intelligent ecosystems, driven by AI and technological advancements. Ja-Nae says the lines between physical and digital realities are blurring, leading to the concept of "reality remix" where buildings can become cognitive ecosystems with digital twins and AI-assisted amenities, but human connection remains vital for our mental health and well-being, so facility management leaders will continue to have a big role to play as we move ahead.
