The Top 5 Reasons Why Consulting Agencies Fail at Scaling

Hands-Off CEO

So you’re ready to scale your consulting agency.  Business is good. You have lots of projects coming in. You’re profitable. Maybe you’re even thinking about hiring more staff to help you out. This is a pivotal time in your business. And there are common pitfalls that can keep you from scaling successfully. In today’s podcast episode, Mandi takes a deeper dive into the top 5 reasons consulting agencies fail at scaling. They are: Weak Vision - The vision needs to be strong enough to inspire the CEO to scale, and to inspire your team to care about your business as much as you do.  Weak Offer - Your offer needs to be so incredibly valuable that your clients will do whatever it takes to get your support.  Mindset - Making a bigger offer means making a bigger promise. And that can be uncomfortable. It means shifting your mindset, and doing the internal work to grow and expand as a leader. Responsibility - At the end of the day, everything that shows up in your business (your bills, your service, your staff, etc.) is your responsibility. You can try and shift blame, but at the end of the day, it’s your signature on the dotted line. Your results are your responsibility. Your growth is your responsibility.  Fixing the Wrong Thing - If you focus on the wrong thing at the wrong time, it can lead you to being more and more trapped in the business. There’s a big difference between growing your business and scaling your business.   Final thoughts There is a better way to scale that requires less of you. Employing simple, practical, and proven solutions to address these pitfalls can help you successfully scale your consulting agency, and create the business you’ve always wanted.  If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a while, you’ll know that Mandi has been sharing bits and pieces of the roadmap she uses for Hands-Off CEO™ clients. But she’s never given away the keys to the castle for FREE before. On Wednesdays at 1pm Pacific, Mandi’s shares all five steps to the roadmap LIVE during our Executive Briefings! After Mandi covers the roadmap, she opens up to the floor for you to ask any questions you want about scaling your business. Because the Executive Briefings are small and intimate, you’ll get individualized attention and the opportunity to see what the roadmap could look like applied to your business.  We’d love to have you! Who should be drafted higher between Harper or Springer? ... Next up we have Hyun-Jin Ryu, whom Scott is higher on than Frank (13:50). How much should we worry about the change of scenery and Ryu's injury history? ... Why does Scott hate Raisel Iglesias (22:33)? Was Iglesias really as bad as his 2019? ... On Wednesdays we like to do some strategy discussion so is the buy-low/sell-high dead in Fantasy Baseball (30:34)? It's much easier said than done nowadays. On Wednesdays show we were packed to the gills with sound in the TrendZone, including waxing men with harmonicas, a new Bass Pro challenge that is pretty dumb and Fallon and the Roots cover Queen! Robs Did You Know took place and lent us some good bits of advice. George Carlins birthday was yesterday and we recapped an official live stream celebration of his life which took place lastnight on the National Comedy Center's Facebook page. It was hosted by his daughter and featured a dearth of high profile comedians such as Tim Allen, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jay Leno, Brian Reagan and many more! The guys even had some really cool stories involving Carlin and direct meeting/interactions with. Fart stories have dominated headlines and our TrendZone the past two days, and for good reason! Besides the hilarious story of a Brit getting busted by the cops while he was fleeing and hiding because he farted. This got us talking about some of our favorite stories regarding the bodily function and even some of YOUR texts on the subject! What are some things that you're used to doing (prior to the virus/quarantine) that you miss; things like seeing real human faces, haircuts, etc. However, Rob misses something entirely different...women. Makeup, hair, nails and other personal care has waned a bit during the pandemic as most places are closed and our responsibilities visually are much lesser than usual. This led us to the topic of local and national TV personalities and celebrities NOT using makeup and how not normal it looks! An article published by LoudWire suggested and highlighted a list of the 25 Greatest Albums with No Weak Songs. Although we disagreed with many and even had several suggestions of our own that we'd add to the list and asked for yours as well! ONLY AVAILABLE on the Morning Bull Podcast!

Welcome to our newest Wednesday Transformational Journey Podcast. I wanted to give each of you a gift this week to celebrate the Christmas holiday. My special little Christmas gift to you is my conversation with my younger sister Emily. Emily is our Director of Marketing and has been a huge asset to our Dream Team. In today’s conversation, Emily shares her 10 year challenge. We are going to look at the last 10 years, and 10 years ago with the last Christmas we got to share with our Dad before he passed away. Emily still lives in our hometown, and is 10 minutes from our childhood home. Our parents divorced later in life, and along with the 2008/2009 economy definitely left her with some challenges. Emily lost her job, is a single woman with a mortgage, and almost lost her home.  Welcome to the newest Wednesday Podcast! On Wednesdays, I get to talk with members of the Organize 365 community as they share the challenges, progress, missteps, and triumphs along their organizing journey. You can see and hear transformation in action. I look forward to helping YOU get Organized! I am grateful that you are reaching out to share your stories and progress with me and with the Organize 365 community. You can see and hear transformation in action. I look forward to helping YOU get Organized!   Today, Nancy A shares her journey of getting organized. Nancy and I go off script and skip most of the questions I usually ask the guests who share their transformations. Nancy was a client of mine back when I did in home professional organizing. We know each other well, so she has a very different perspective on the Lisa experience!
