This week on Critical Arcade, Nick and Dave dive headfirst into the relentless chaos of Ninja Gaiden 4 — a game that doesn't just test your reflexes, it punishes your mistakes. This time Ryu is out and Yakumo, a skilled ninja of the Raven Clan, takes the hot seat. Sounds like a Tuesday for a Super Ninja.Armed with his ever-growing arsenal, new Bloodraven powers, and enough wall-running stamina to make Spider-Man jealous, Yakumo sets out to kill a priestess of the Dark Dragon, but instead, this quickly turns into a mission to escort her to a handful of magic seals in an effort to really kill the Dark Dragon for good this time.Between the two of them, they discover just how far the series has evolved — faster combat, cinematic flair, and a difficulty curve sharper than Yakumo's blade. Will Nick finally perfect his ultimate combo, or will his controller meet an untimely end against the coffee table? And can Dave tune out the giggling teen inside his head when a girl is on the screen? Tune in as the guys battle through the beautiful brutality of Ninja Gaiden 4 — a game where only the sharp survive. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week on Anime Minority Report, Jamie and Guerby break down the wildest anime of the summer and things get disrespectfully honest. We're talking Ryu the Water Magician, who is one emotional speech away from catching a homicide charge for his friends. Meanwhile, Gachiakuta is showing equal opportunity hands to everyone — because why be sexist when you can punch everybody in the face for free? From chaotic power scaling to anime logic that should be illegal, we're debating what hit, what missed, and what needs to be sent straight to filler hell. If you love unfiltered anime talk with actual personality, hit play.
After 13 years, Ninja Gaiden 4 is finally here... and it's both exactly what we wanted AND a massive letdown. The combat is incredible, the gore is satisfying, and the challenge will test even veteran players. But the story? The characters? Absolutely lifeless. In this review, I break down everything you need to know about Ninja Gaiden 4 - from the revolutionary Bloodbind Ninjutsu system to the brutal Master Ninja difficulty, and why both Yakumo and Ryu feel like empty shells despite being at the center of what could've been an amazing story.
This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are still sending 'Get Well' Cards to Trent, as he unfortunately misses this ep. But that won't slow us down; as Scot has a fantastic rundown on the Greatest Star Wars Movie - that never was! Yes - the infamous 'Shadows Of The Empire!' Famously worked into 'cannon' between the Original Films of: Empire Strikes Back & Return Of The Jedi. This wasn't just a Story or a Comicbook series - this was a Multimedia Project that also spanned into a Soundtrack, Video Games and of course a self-titled line of Toys! Was, or is this, the biggest Movie that never was?! Then keeping in the same similar theme of Movies; we transform into another round of The Team! With this round focusing on the Autobots that where released in 1986 (The Movie Year). This was a lot of fun! But we would love to hear some future ideas for The Team Comp - as we are starting to run out of ideas! Thanks, and as always - Enjoy!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
From one of the globe to the other, there is no shortage of cool cool stuff to talk about! NYCC kicks off with a bang and even without Trent in the room, there is still much future money to be spent. Has Mondo become the next big thing? Playmates kicking absolute goals? A figure NEVER before seen in Marvel Legends? Closer to home we recap the always amazing Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair put on by the radical Brett and amazing Sarah. Great scores, great hangs and just so much fun as always!

Two hosts. One cursed genre. We're back from hiatus and diving headfirst into Street Fighter—the messy past, the chaotic present, and the narrow path where a live-action adaptation might actually work. We start with Raúl Juliá's legendary M. Bison, a masterclass in villainy that shows how one serious performance can anchor an otherwise bonkers movie. From there we map the game-to-film curse: cramming 200 hours of world and choice into 120 minutes, inventing bland protagonists, killing fan favorites you'll need next time, and mistaking “gritty” for “good.”So what would it take to make Street Fighter land in 2026? We make the case for a bold, colorful tone that looks like the game you remember, a tournament that actually feels like a tournament (with an audience and rules), and a clean narrative spine built around Ryu and Ken's estrangement colliding with Chun-Li and Guile's revenge lines. We argue for Bison as a manipulative, modern dictator rather than a gym poster, and for Akuma as a shadowy pressure system instead of a homework dump. Along the way we debate the new cast, where stunt casting helps or hurts, and why choreography and silhouette should outrank marquee names. Sonic and Mario thrived when they embraced cartoon logic; Speed Racer was early but right. It's time to let video game movies be gloriously unreal—and ruthlessly coherent. If you care about tournaments that make sense, fights you can actually read, and characters who don't vanish in service of cameos, this conversation's for you. Tap play, tell us your dream Ryu/Ken/Chun-Li, and share the episode with the friend who still quotes “it was Tuesday.” And if you're new here, hit follow, drop a review, and stick around—we've got more heavy hitters on deck. Thanks for listening; If you feel like supporting us, this is where you do that!Patreon (Just a buck to show your support!)BuyMeACoffee Check out or other content/socials here. As it has been a few weeks between seeing it, and talking about it here; we decide to go head first in - with no holds back - Full Spoiler Talk! So please be mindful of that. Plus; with all the hype around Comic Book movies; we have a fun discussion around which Film did we think, did it best? Superman or FF4? Then we take a quick look at the latest news - with a pure focus around the three main Crowdfunding projects, all happening right now. The HasLab SnowCat which has actually just wrapped up. Mattel's rather ambitious Snake Lair; with a rather questionable price tag! Plus the other HasLab project, the Star Wars: Gunner Ship! This one looks like it needs a huge boost of backers! Then pivoting back to the Big Screen; we chat about the latest Radical Rewind screening that was: Wayne's World! From numerous Cosplay fun, to the upcoming hype around the Next Feature Film too! This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are still down a Scot, as he is still unwell. But that will not slow him down in contributing to this ep! Before we get into the main segments, we chat about Ben & Frank's latest Plastic Addiction, in the form of Transformers Blokees! Prior to chatting about the Superman Film itself, we focus on the Toy likeness compared to what the actor actually looks like! With a little Jurassic World banter in between. Then, without another moment to spare, we get right into the James Gunn driven film itself! We chat towards our Cinema experiences and start off with a non-spoiler discussion; before we head into a chat about the whole Film itself! Giving it our typical DVG rating out of 19 too. Then changing gears, we introduce a New segment - named: Variant Schmariant! We each pick two variants of a pre-existing character (in toy form) that just doesn't need to exist. We unearth some quite silly versions of characters that had a legitimate Toy Release; that clearly logic was not a concern at all!! Plus we tie a nice bow around the proposed Nick-Names for both Frank & Scot. Enjoy!!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Charles Ryu escaped from North Korea not once, but twice! He experienced starvation, torture, and years of propaganda. North Koreans, even those who escape, fear talking about socialist tyranny because the regime might kill their families. “Not just you, but your entire three generations will be wiped out,” explains Ryu. He is only willing to talk because he has no immediate family left in the country. Now he educates Americans about the horrors of the country on his YouTube channel. In this podcast, he tells me more about the North Korean regime, his incredible escape, and the importance of freedom.

With decades of experience spanning medicine, law, government, and leadership at some of the most respected healthcare institutions, Dr. Ryu offers a rare inside look at what it takes to scale value-based care in a fragmented system. We cover:

An OVA (original video animation) sequel to the popular NES games (Ninja Gaiden I and II), it is probably best that this film was never released in the United States. In this movie, we join our ninja protagonist, Ryu, as he helps manage a curio shop with his non-girlfriend, Irene. The action revolves around a villain named Ned, who claims to have cured cancer, but who really has grown creature ninjas for Dr. Bucky-wise.For those who haven't seen it, your gain is our pain. Welcome back, custmers! I recently took a vacation from the video store to go on a cruise with my wife. I've had cruises on the brain ever since, so what better time to recommend some of my favorite films that take place on ships! OVERBOARD (1987)Handyman and single-father Dean Proffitt sees an opportunity to get even with a pompous heiress named Joanna after an accident leaves her with amnesia. Dean takes advantage of the woman's lack of memory and convinces her that she is his wife and the mother of his four children. What starts out as a simple bit of revenge gets complicated as relationships are formed… and broken. Starring real life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as Dean and Annie, with appearances from Edward Herrmann, Roddy McDowall, and Mike Hagerty. CABIN BOY (1994)In this utterly bizarre comedy starring Chris Elliott, Nathan Mayweather is a spoiled and tone-deaf “fancy lad” who accidentally boards the wrong ship and finds himself sailing the seas with a grizzled crew of career fishermen. The plot is silly, the jokes are weird, and the comedy is abstract. One moment cabin boy Mayweather is talking to imaginary cupcakes and in the next, he's being rescued from the depths of the ocean by Choki — half-man, half-shark. Cabin Boy was such a box office failure that director Adan Resnick literally never directed another film. I love this movie and my wife will get in her car and leave the house when I watch it. You'll have to decide for yourself if it's for you.THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (1972)If you've ever wondered what's the worst that could happen while sailing on a cruise ship, you'll soon find out. Due to a series of unfortunate events, the unstable ship is knocked over by a 90-foot-tall wave. Passengers must work together to find a way out of the upside-down cruise ship before it sinks to the bottom of the ocean. This multi-Academy Award winner features an all-star cast including Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Shelly Winters, Red Buttons, Carol Lynley, Roddy McDowall, Jack Albertson, and more. CITY HUNTER (1993)Jackie Chan is known for his wacky action flicks, and this may be the wackiest of them all. In City Hunter, Chan plays Ryu, a private detective hired to find a missing woman. Ryu and his assistant Kaori track the woman to a cruise ship and follow her there, only to discover the ship is being hijacked by terrorists. Ryu is the ultimate ladies man — they love him and he loves them. City Hunter is part comedy and part action. It's like if they remade Porky's and added machine gun wielding terrorists who constantly mow down passengers in cold blood. Is this film for everybody? No. But is it for anybody? Also, maybe not. Jackie Chan said City Hunter is the least favorite film he ever worked on, which made me pick up a copy and add it to the video store's library.Usually when my wife and I go on cruises the only thing I worry about is them running out of pudding or margaritas. After watching these I'll be keeping an eye out for terrorists, gigantic waves, and terrorists. If any of those things happen I'll cross my fingers and hope for amnesia.
