173 - Mission: Impossible - II with George Hendricks and Jonathan Howell WARNING: This episode is very explicit. Welcome back to Reel Comic Heroes—the podcast where we take a deep dive into the best (and sometimes worst) action-packed, comic-inspired, and downright legendary films. Today, we're tackling a sequel that cranked up the stunts, slow motion, and doves—Mission: Impossible II. Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, but this time, John Woo is in the director's chair, bringing his signature style of over-the-top action, intense face-offs, and, of course, some gravity-defying motorcycle chases. But does this sequel live up to the impossible standard set by the first film, or does it self-destruct in a blaze of fire and techno music? Our returning guests are George Hendricks and Jonathan Howell. Strap in, put on your best disguises, and let's talk Mission: Impossible II. Minutes 66-70 Batman lies prone, at the whim of The Joker… except he's got that dawg in him. Kind of. Ace attacks! He's very well trained - he could eat The Joker's face clean off but chooses not to. Good boy! Not all that good actually... the tackling sends Joker's buzzer careening right into the electronics, triggering the deadly space laser! Maybe ya goofed, dog. INCOMING! Terry goes at it - he isn't backing down. This is THE moment to really prove himself as the true successor. Time to ROAST this clown! The next episode follows in one week! Same Bat Pod, different Bat Minute! Join us on Facebook at the Bat Minute Listener's Cave! Reel Comic Heroes: 151 - Spider-Man (94) Script Read We decided to do something a little different this episode and assembled some folks for a script read of the unmade ‘Spider-Man' from 1994. We're performing the 2nd revision by Joseph Goldman, James Cameron and John Brancato from 7/29/1993. This script would've eventually changed even more and would have become the version James Cameron planned to direct with Leonardo DiCaprio as Peter Parker. Ultimately, this project never got made (for several reasons) but we dusted off the script and gave it our best. Okey dokey. “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry plays as Curt cruises with the Pharaohs, Carol gets hit by a water balloon, and she and Milner bond over some extreme revenge. George Hendricks from The Mogwai Minute and Liz Whitaker from Mean Girls Minute rejoin Tierney to talk about flatulence humor, Carol's moxie, Chekhov's shaving cream, ineffective spotlights, and (sigh) poop. While John and Carol play “ring around the Chevy” and slash some tires, we dive into the history of Chuck Berry, so heads up, it gets a little adult.Come hang out at Mel's Listeners' Drive In on Facebook and @vcrprivileges on Twitter and InstagramArtwork by Alex RobinsonMusic by Chris Frain

That's right: Dottie is back and she is in full Terminator mode. We have so much to cover today from real on-screen injuries to the unfairness of Alice being benched, from Mae taking her place as leader to whether Kit ever went home again. Bob, bears, betrayal, Stillwell, signal ignoring, steak dinners, cut off men, and finally that infamous collision! James, Rachel, and Tierney debate how this movie could have ended and enjoy our last moments of the film in 1943.
