Finding Balance part 2 podcast. I wanted to express my feelings about the book. Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power It's a book that delves into the art of lying in the most detailed, emotionally charged, and manipulative way possible. I believe that everything should be balanced, but we must not mix theology with reality. Although I am not a fan of Dr. Greene's work, this best-selling book is used by a wide range of people, organizations, universities, and honorable men and women. It's a part of the human psyche that we should try to eradicate. Let's get this dialogue started. I'm hoping my records function, as I was having a lot of technical troubles! It's Possible - Conversations with Successful Online Trainers

The OTA team look at the common doubts trainers have about appearances and external expectations.    The Episode: But What If I Don't 'Look' Like A Trainer?   There is space for every type of trainer in the world of online coaching. The common image of a half-naked influencer that we see so often on social media is not the only legitimate model for how to help clients. There are elements to your training that are more valuable than the way you look, and trying to reach the peak of physical conditioning in order to validate your work should not be your aim. In this episode, we explore the importance of relatability, communication, and a unique set of skills that can help your clients believe in themselves and achieve their goals.   In This Episode Stepping into the shoes of a client and why it's great for coaches to have coaches [0:04:03] Misconceptions about the appearance of trainers [0:17:05] Making the most of the uneven nature of the playing field [0:21:21] Finding your own strength and skillset to offer [0:27:19] Normalizing your timeline and journey [0:31:33] Comparison is not inspiration [0:35:50] Keeping your interactions with social media and external standards healthy [0:41:04]   “You have to really, really understand that there are different playing fields. You have to understand the game, and you don't get frustrated playing someone else's game.” — Jonathan Goodman   Focussing on Relatability We often field questions and concerns around appearance and presentability as a coach. It may come as a surprise to some, but you do not need to be in perfect shape or even near-perfect shape to be a coach or to help others. Knowledge, experience, and the ability to relay your stories are a lot more valuable than how you look. If clients are able to relate to your journey, this is a huge plus, so talk about your unique story and challenges!   Finding your Own Story and Power It is necessary to acknowledge the biases that exist towards certain standards of beauty and physical appearance. There is a reason why Instagram influencers look the way they do. But all this means is that you need to play to your strengths; it is a waste of time to compete in a race that does not suit you. You need to thrive in your own game, a game in which you can connect with an appropriate audience that you can offer value to.   Accessing Real Inspiration We often confuse comparative content and media with inspiration. With the array of different people, body types, and needs out there, there is an equally wide range of inspiring coaching that is needed. All you need to do is look at high-level athletes and their coaches to see this. The idea that there is only one way to be a coach and help people is a huge misconception, so find what type you are and believe in yourself!   Already at $1,000/month online and want to scale? This was a pivotal time in his career. He had previously released 808s and Heartbreak and he was fresh off of embarrassing the hell out of Taylor Swift at the VMA's. This was the album that made us think he was normal again....kinda. It's critically acclaimed. Some think it's his best as well as one of Hip-Hop's best. Feel Good Astrology's Louisa Tanner Munson and I discuss expectations in these coming times. We have a lively discussion about how intuition plays a role during the upheaval of COVID and why staying home more often affects our daily choices. Louisa talks about why I'm known as "The Energetic Plumber." We discuss overgiving, which empaths are commonly known for, and why having boundaries is important to all, especially those who are more open to sensing energy. We finish up with a societal view of what is happening now from a 19th-century Russian mystic perspective. Acknowledge Your Feelings One element we must do in these times is to honor how we are feeling at the moment. We are having a major paradigm shift from an individual and societal perspective. People are changing internally because of the external changes happening. Your Own Energy and Power It is good to understand how your body connects to your energy and power, especially if it's a newfound awareness. The importance of the gut energy, and how it connects to other energies that run through our body is becoming more clear to people. Now that we are working from home and don't have a set schedule, we have to decide what to do with our time and make a conscious decision on our daily activities. Creating Rituals for a New Identity What are rituals you can create that helps you to understand your newfound energy as it moves? Create rituals that help bring you back into yourself each morning.  The Importance of Boundaries for Empaths Many empaths end up giving a lot of their energy away when it's not asked for by someone. How do empaths see and sense others. We talk about boundaries and why  putting up these types of energetic boundaries gives empaths an energetic safety net from their environments.  Links and Resources  Book a session with Scott Clover today Listen in to Intuitive Energy Podcast  Connect with Scott on LinkedIn Read about Scott's work in the Wall Street Journal   Journey with Scott Clover on Social Media YouTube   Facebook   Instagram   Pinterest   On the Web   Spread the word of intuitive healing and share this episode with a friend!   Disclaimer DISCLAIMER*** This Podcast is for educational and informational purposes only and solely as a self-help tool for your own use. How to Walk in God’s Power It is the 28th of December, only a few days away into the New Year. Today on 2 Empower U, Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will share with you what it means to “walk in God’s power”. What does having a zeal for the things of God mean? How can you feed on the Word of God? How will you stay in communion and fellowship with Christians like you? These are all the things that the Pastor will talk about today. What you will learn can help bring you closer to God and His almighty powers.   “Having a renewed mind is key in anything that you want to do in life. If you want to do things God’s way.”   - Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach A Spiritual Hunger for God “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”                                                                                                                                                - Matthew 5:6 The kind of spiritual hunger that Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will talk about today is the one that shows you desire for God. How eager are you to live a life filled with His presence? Are you ready to have God in your life – in all ways, on all days, and always? The Pastor will help you realize how important it is to keep your spiritual hunger for God high – because this is what you need to keep Him significant in Your life. Develop your spiritual hunger for God every day. Say this always: “Lord, I just want you.” Go after the Lord. How to Feed on the Word of God Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach shares with you three things that you can do to better understand and be filled with the Word of God. He will share with you his insights on how reading the Bible, studying and analyzing the Bible passage, and meditating on what your learned from the scriptures are essential for understanding, accepting, and feeding on the Word of God. “You can trust God in every situation. You can believe in God. But you have to feed on His word.”                                                                                                                                - Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach Communicate with God Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach encourages you to be open to God. Share with Him whatever is in your heart. When you talk to Him, God will speak with you and He will shower you with His wisdom. God is in a relationship with you, so you should always communicate with Him. The Pastor also wants to encourage you to listen to what God will tell you. Spend time with Him every day. Fellowship is Important The Pastor also wants you to know how important it is to be in fellowship with your fellow Christians; with like-minded believers. Being around like-minded people will result to a lot of good things. It helps you walk in God’s power. “Don’t become partners with those who reject God. That’s not a partnership, that’s war.”                                                                                                                                - Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will remind you about how vital it is to choose the people you’re going to be moving around with, as well as the friends you connect with. Don’t hang around with negative people because this will not bring you to the right direction. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupts good manners.”                                                                - 1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV) Who and Where is God in You? Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will ask you: “Is God really the lover of your soul?” Your answer to this will determine who and where God is in you. If you truly love the Lord, you won’t be able to stop talking about Him. Confess to your friends and family that you are “the righteousness of God”. Confessing this openly means you are proudly identifying yourself with God. Praying in the Spirit “But, ye, beloved, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.”                                                                                                                                                - Jude 1:20                                                               Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach wants you to know that prayers work, even in the most difficult situations. The Pastor wants to encourage you to always pray, especially in the Holy Ghost. Get into Action Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach wants you to understand that nothing good will happen if you do not put your plans into action, or if you do not “practice what you preach”. Don’t be contented with just keeping to yourself what you learned and discovered; set everything into action.  -------- Let Pastor Thomas DeLoach know how this message has inspired you.  Connect with him by sending him an email at info@thomasadeloach.com  You can also interact with him by visiting and liking his Instagram page, https://www.instagram.com/thomasadeloach/  The pastor also has a website, https://www.thomasadeloach.com/ where you’ll find more information about ministry and advocacy; where you’ll learn about how he can help to empower you.

Today’s guest is George Aye, the co-founder of Greater Good Studio and an Adjunct Full Professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. We talk about creating a design studio driven by social impact, how to make facing the hard, ethical questions part of how a team functions, and what it means to design and lead with a deep awareness of power and its absence. Dawan Stanford, is your podcast host. Show Summary George’s path to design began in England, where he studied mechanical engineering at university before being fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to work with IDEO in their Chicago office. It meant packing up and moving overseas. For George, his time with IDEO was pivotal, both to his understanding of what design was, but also for what it felt like to work as part of a world-class team. During his time at IDEO, George was already noticing questions about the work, why we do it, and why certain projects — those with a clear social mission — engendered very different feelings in him than those without that mission. He wondered how he might focus this work on the social mission projects. Seven years on, he would leave IDEO to work at the Chicago Transit Authority, where he designed a bus and researched bus ridership. When the political environment shifted and he was let go from the CTA, George started teaching at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was here that his idea for a design studio focused solely on the social sector began to take shape. Since co-founding Greater Good Studio, George has continued to ask the hard questions, and encourages his team and his students to do the same. George talks about why these questions are important, the dynamics of power and how it can offer insight into people’s motivations and behaviors, and how to incorporate these discussions into the daily functioning of your design team.  Listen in to learn: Some of the ethical questions George and his team tackle when approaching a potential project with a client Why it’s a good thing to always be asking “What are we doing, and why?” How questioning assumptions is essential for good decision-making The importance of creating a “psychologically safe” workplace George’s thoughts about power and understanding how it shapes behavior and outcomes Ways to bring learned expertise and lived experience together in teaching design Why the idea of “saving people” is problematic Our Guest’s Bio George co-founded Greater Good Studio with the belief that design can help advance equity. Previously, he spent seven years at global innovation firm IDEO before being hired as the first human-centered designer at the Chicago Transit Authority. Since founding Greater Good, he has worked across complex social issues such as criminal justice, civic engagement, public education, public health and youth development. He speaks frequently across the US and internationally. George holds the position of Adjunct Full Professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Show Highlights [02:16] George talks about how he got into design via engineering. [02:54] His move from London to Chicago to work at IDEO. Schedule a Consultation - Click here to get your free book Today I’m going to be talking about something I like to call Auto to the 5th Power. This is a way that you can use technology to automate savings for your employees and make your life easier, especially if you’re an HR director trying to get people to enroll in their retirement plans. So what exactly is Auto to the 5th Power? It’s actually a series of automatic features that you can use in your retirement plan to get your employees engaged in their retirement plans. This means getting them enrolled, getting them to increase their savings, and also providing greater protection for you as a plan sponsor. Today we’ll be taking a look at the top two automatic features. I’ll show you why they are so beneficial and how you can put them into action. The first feature is automatic enrollment, which is one of the easiest ways to save time, money, and effort. Instead of sending out a retirement form to your employees that may or may not ever be returned, all you need to do is send out a 30-day notice to your employees notifying them that when they are eligible for the retirement plan, they will automatically be enrolled in the plan at a set rate. For example, if your match is 50% on 6% you might want to set that contribution rate at 6%. The government will allow you to go as low as 3%, so that is an option if you’re worried about taking too much out of your employees’ paychecks right away. We personally always recommend setting the contribution rate at whatever the match rate is. After all, the name of the game is getting people to save for retirement, and people usually need to save about 10% a year. Now, you’re probably not going to automatically enroll at 10%, but the key to automatic enrollment is in the 30-day notice. You’re covered because you gave your employees notice, and your employees have the option to opt out. However, 70% of people who are automatically enrolled in the plan stay in the plan. “The name of the game is getting people to save for retirement.” The second feature is called automatic QDIA. A QDIA is a qualified default investment option. Say you automatically enroll an employee into the retirement plan but they don’t pick their investments. What’s a plan sponsor to do? Under the Pension Protection Act, you can automatically enroll them into something called the Qualified Default Investment Option. Typically a QDIA is going to be some sort of lifestyle fund, but it could be a customized option based on the employee’s age. As with automatic enrollment, the key to the QDIA is all about the notice. You have to send them something that tells them if they don’t make an election, you’re going to make the election for them. Provided you do investment due diligence on that investment option and document that you are monitoring that investment, you’ll be protected under the Pension Protection Act, which means you can’t be sued for making that investment choice for your employee. The bottom line is, using automatic features is easy, convenient, faster, and cheaper. Also, if you do your due diligence, you are completely protected thanks to the Pension Protection Act. In the end, your employee is the person who wins as they are saving money to create that paycheck for life. If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email or give me a call. Additionally, if you’d like an analysis of your retirement plan, you can reach out to Matt Gilmore in my office by sending him an email or giving him a call as well. We’d be happy to help!
