Worth Fighting For? Why do we need a government? Everything the government does takes away from productive citizens. The taxes we pay are forced distributions to promote many ideas that we do not believe in. In other words, not only are they taking our money, our time & possibly our bodies with forced injections and/or military service, they are using these resources against us. The only way to stop this is to stand up for your rights. https://www.thefallofminneapolis.com/ Info@ClearSkyTrainer.com 833-Be-Do-Have (833-233-6428)

This week, host Jason Jefferies is joined by writer, activist, pastor and storyteller John Pavlovitz, who discusses his book Worth Fighting For: Finding Courage and Compassion When Cruelty is Trending, which is published by our friends at WJK Books. Topics of conversation include the dual roles of activist and pastor, bad news, the default mode of existence in a capitalist society as antithetical to human nature, waiting for a superhero or savior when one isn't coming, the toxic cocktail of outrage addiction and cultivated worry, mistaking activity for productivity, legislative goals, and much more. Signed copies of Worth Fighting For can be ordered here from Page 158 Books, and each purchase comes with a signed print.
Boy, the world sure feels toxic these days, doesn't it? It's not new–but it seems to be accelerating at a breakneck pace. Frankly, it's understandable that so many of us feel like throwing up our hands and giving up on the fight, wondering if our culture is even worth saving. John Pavlovitz argues that it is, and gives us a path forward in his new book “Worth Fighting For.” --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/alyssa-milano-sorry-not-sorry/message

This message is from Summer Week 5: "Suffering People are Worth Fighting For"Suffering People Are Worth Fighting ForWe believe our God is a God of compassion. Throughout the Gospels, we see proof of this in Jesus who did for others what they could not do for themselves (Matt. 9:36, Mark 1:41, Luke 7:13). Therefore, we will be a people of compassion, defending and suffering with the hurting, harassed, and helpless. We will feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, invite in the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the prisoner, and care for the sick (Matt. 25:35-36). We will do justice, love kindness, and fight for those who have no voice.
