The Starling Tribune: An Unofficial Arrow TV Show Fan Podcast

Takes over Harbinger Mobius Takes Novu's power; destroys Earth-1 Lex Luthor Of course he's going to take a page from the book and make himself a hero Pariah Controlled by Anti-Monitor; bears witness Cisco vibes his memories Brings Black Lightning, who doesn't know about multiple Earths and whose Earth is gone Teleports Flash, Sara, Batwoman, Supergirl, Superman, J'onn J'onzz, and Ryan to the Vanishing Point - outside of time and space; Lex comes out of Superman to rewrite destiny Black Lightning Contains energy from canon Not from Earth-1 Rage against the dying of the light Thorns: SP All three episodes sort of feel like a waste now because everything is gone Loved the cameos, but some are obscure for Arrowverse fans Choi Lucifer Spectre Stargate Pioneer Jon Cryer - what a great Lex - plus the Christopher Reeve connection in Superman IV. Yes, I know we've discussed it before but I felt it needed to be mentioned again. The way the Flash cast just miraculously portals in Punctuates the separate episodes and not true continuous miniseries event Black Lightning just a bit more than a cameo It would have been nice to see Oracle on Earth 203 World's Finest confrontation ...a bit old with Batman v Superman Why does Vibe live again when Cisco went through the whole arc of becoming non meta again? - I know, because plot and he was the only one to get through the treadmill force field. But….really? Chris Why isn't Dig the Green Lantern yet? Spectre reveal kinda came out of nowhere Michelle Still upset that we didn't see Nash become Pariah or Lyla become Harbinger and why she ended up w/Anti-Monitor and as the Anti-Monitor If Anti-Monitor could destroy all Earths at once, why not do so? (I know, because plot, but still) Oliver didn't need to become the Spectre; Corrigan would've been great to see Roses SP - All the cameos. John Wesley Shipp's 90's flash gets an ending Diggle's issue about not being with Oliver - true to the characters Routh's Superman … again. Chris John Wesley Shipp is OG flash again! and we get an actual 90s flash flashback Brandon Routh is still great. Can we give him a Superman show? Diggle and Oliver's friendship is shown to be a big deal when he's the one that pulls him out. Lex tricks everyone (keep in mind he sees himself as a hero normally). BUt bummed it's Routh Supes that is gone :( Kara and Kate conversation ends when Kara tells her to keep the kryptonite Michelle Lucifer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Tom Ellis and the show. Maze is Mazikeen, loyal servant/friend of Lucifer's; Constantine helped bring her out of Hell to Earth; there are rules preventing Lucifer from just bringing whoever he wants out of Hell; even Lucifer has to go back to Hell; visit is pre-TV show Treadmill from comics; a Flash has to die; flashback to Flash TV show (knew this was going to happen, still teared up anyway) Logical reason to bring in Black Lightning Diggle brings back Oliver Still loving Snart as the voice of the Waverider For reference: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Easter Eggs and References in Part Three (10 Dec 2019) https://comicbook.com/dc/2019/12/11/crisis-on-infinite-earths-part-3-easter-eggs/ ARROW NEWS: CW Reveals When Arrow, Flash, Batwoman and More Return From Winter Hiatus (Date: 18 Dec 2019) Both Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow will air on Jan. 14 to close out the Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths". The Starling Tribune Reporters SP and Chris review the 2019 Arrowverse Crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths Part One (technically Supergirl Season 5 Episode 9) with the help of Michelle's notes once again. Michelle was out sick for the week. The reporters discuss the final Arrow included crossover episode part one including why you should enjoy these episodes while you have access to them, that this is simply the MOST AMBITIOUS crossover in the history of television spanning SIX currently airing television shows, why its time to geek out over all the cameos, the reporter's takes on the Earth-16 adventure (more to come in a later episode), the reporter's roses and thorns with this episode of the crossover, why Arrow fans might feel cheated at the big Arrow moment and Marc Guggenheim's reasons for it,if the crossover can be produced like a 5 episode miniseries or a 5 episode premium streaming series, why James Bamford would have been a great addition to the Supergirl episode production staff, and what was that deal between the Monitor and Oliver Queen about anyway? William not in Crossover and doesn;'t get to experience Oliver dying Batwoman's timeline Where did Mia's Arrow suit come from? Ollie death to ‘subvert our expectations' bs Ollie's magic quiver shadow demons looks like dementors Michelle - don't see Lyla become Harbinger or her relationship w/Monitor; don't see Nash become Pariah; wanted tower to become part of plot like in comics; wish crossover treated like 5 hour movie, not upset Oliver died in Part 1, but just because it's called Supergirl doesn't mean all the stupid subplots from the show have to be in the crossover (I think we've had this complant every crossover) Roses SP - “Age Of Heroes” Multiverse Intro Worldbuilding - All the Earths, all of DC's screen coming together 4th Wall broken early and often - didn't take itself too seriously Homages to 78 Superman with Jonathan was cool Chyron's really helped map out where people were Supergirl and Superman comforting each other in the face of tremendous loss - DEO Balcony Avenger's Age Of Ultron battle around the machine / Harry Potter Tons of female leads. They include second seasons of the CW's freshman hits Charmed and Legacies, as well as new seasons of Arrow (Season 8), Black Lightning (Season 3), DC'S Legends of Tomorrow (Season 5), Dynasty (Season 3), The Flash (Season 6), Riverdale (Season 4), Supergirl (Season 5), and Supernatural (Season 15). “This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning,” said Pedowitz. “These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.” GENERAL NEWS ‘Batwoman': Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson & Nicole Kang To Co-Star In the CW Pilot (Date: 25 Jan 2019) Teen Wolf alumna Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson (Luke Cage) and Nicole Kang (You) have been cast in lead roles opposite Ruby Rose in Batwoman, the CW's DC drama pilot from Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Tandy will play Sophie Moore, a high-level private security agent and one of Gotham's staunchest protectors. Johnson will portray Luke Fox. A Dark Knight loyalist and son of Wayne's R&D director Lucius Fox, Luke works to keep Wayne Tower secure in his boss's absence. Kang is Mary Hamilton. Mary is Kate Kane's step-sister and polar opposite. https://deadline.com/2019/01/batwoman-meagan-tandy-camrus-johnson-nicole-kang-to-star-in-the-cw-pilot-dc-1202541983/ FEEDBACK YouTube: From YouTube: Pfruit0916 I thought this was a decent episode but had entirely too much Rene. That being said, it did get me invested in Emiko & her hunt for her mother's killer. I'm going ahead and predicted that this Dante person, Dig & Lyla are investigating is also responsible for Kazumi's death. Dante/his organization obviously has resources since he paid the long bow hunters for Diaz, so he would be able to commit a murder and set someone else up for it. I'm glad the reveal of Emiko came very quickly. Felicity was able to figure out that it was Thea who killed Sara based on olivers DNA markers in s3 so if she didn't figure this out I would have been annoyed. Oliver's reaction to the news made complete sense. He knows he parents have made questionable choices but they loved him and Thea. So of course it would be hard to reconcile that the same parents who died to protect him would then abandon Emiko. I really enjoyed The olicity interactions this episode. In 7x08 a big part of their conflict was that she changed and as Oliver said, He fell in love with the old Felicity. And she said she couldn't go back to being the girl he met with the red pen. I think she just needed reassurance that he could accept this new version of her. He gave her that in the crossover, when he said no matter who she grew into he would love her. Now they can move forward as a team. The DNA recognition security system that felicity installed in their apartment may be in the first step toward the Archer program that's mentioned in the future. Also, I found it interesting that Curtis was the only team arrow member not mentioned as having the Mark of Four. I have a feeling he's dying at some point this season. Lastly, since the show seems to be shifting to Arrow Jr. with the hero's kids showing up I'm wondering when we will see grown up JJ.
