People were scammed into enrolling in fake universities. How did this happen? It was back in 2015, that an elaborate scam was exposed where people unknowingly enrolled in universities that did not exist, paying enrolment and tuition fees for courses that were fake. It is believed to be the biggest internet scam ever uncovered. Ian Brady and Myra Hindley kidnapped, tortured, and murdered five children, burying at least four of the bodies on Saddleworth Moor, over a three year period during the 1960s in Manchester, England. They were finally stopped when Hindley’s brother-in-law, David Smith, reported their fifth murder to police because he had been forced to watch and assist in covering up the crime scene. Both Brady and Hindley were convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, callously taking the location of their third victim’s remains, Keith Bennett, to the grave when they passed away behind bars. The BBC called the Moors Murders as well as Brady and Hindley “British society’s benchmark for evil.”Join me on social media by following Mask of Sanity on Instagram (@maskofsanitythepodcast) and Twitter (@masksanitypod) for more updates on upcoming episodes! Strange Country cohosts Beth and Kelly want to keep things light and frothy with this week's episode so that's why they're talking about. . . abortion. Before the book Sybil, there were only a handful of cases of Multiple Personality Disorder. After the book, the number exploded. But was Sybil's story all it was said to be? Her mother's orgies in the woods with teenage girls, her mother defecating on the lawns of neighbors, giving Sybil ice-water enemas? Or was it all suggested by a therapist while the patient was hopped up on a variety of barbiturates and methamphetamine? In Strange Country Ep. 41, co-hosts Beth and Kelly look into the debunking the story of Sybil whose real name was Shirley Mason and the behavior of her beloved therapist Dr. Cornelia Wilbur. "Vice President Mike Pence on Monday did not rule out contact with North Korean officials when he attends the Winter Olympics in South Korea this week, saying, â??I have not requested a meeting, but weâ??ll see what happens.â?? The comments came as North Korean athletes, artists and officials were descending on South Korea for the Games in Pyeongchang. Among them is Kim Yong-nam, the president of the Presidium of North Koreaâ??s Parliament, who serves as a nominal head of state and will lead a 22-member delegation of its officials making a rare visit to the South. Speaking to reporters in Alaska during a stopover on his way to Japan and South Korea, Mr. Pence reiterated the administrationâ??s stance that â??all options are on the tableâ?? in confronting North Korea about its nuclear weapons and missile programs. He said part of the purpose of his visit was to tell â??the truth about North Korea at every stop.â?? â??Weâ??re traveling to the Olympics to make sure that North Korea doesnâ??t use the powerful symbolism and the backdrop of the Winter Olympics to paper over the truth about their regime,â?? he said, calling it â??a regime that oppresses its own people, a regime that threatens nations around the world, a regime that continues its headlong rush to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.â??
