"God's Resting Place" - The Scripture Lesson: Isaiah 66:1
God's Word for Today 18 Apr 2024 -Psa 132:1-18 ESV MY RESTING PLACE FOREVER As they arrive at the temple, it is a fitting occasion to recall the beginnings of the temple. David, with much difficulty, eagerly brought the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem with the aim of building God a house for it later (see 2 Samuel 6:3-13; 2 Samuel 7:1-3; Psalms 24). Remember, O LORD, in David's favor, all the hardships he endured, 2 how he swore to the LORD and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, 3 “I will not enter my house or get into my bed, 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, 5 until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” Previously, the ark had been stationed at Kiriath-jearim, also known as Baale-judah. Here, it is called ‘the fields of Jaar'. David therefore went from Bethlehem (Ephrathah) to Kiriath-jearim to collect the ark and bring it to Jerusalem ( see 2 Samuel 6:2,2 Samuel 6:14-19; 1 Chronicles 13:5; 1 Chronicles 13:5). 6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. 7 “Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool!” 8 Arise, O LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. 9 Let your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let your saints shout for joy. Although David wanted to build God a house in Jerusalem, God wanted to do something far greater for David. God wanted to build David a house in Jerusalem; not a house of stone, but a line of royal descendants to rule from Zion where the living God dwelt ( cf. 2 Samuel 7:4-16). 10 For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. 11 The LORD swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back: “One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne. 12 If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne.” 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: 14 “This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. God would give his people all they needed for healthy lives, physically and spiritually (v.15-16). 15 I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. 16 Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. He would give the Davidic king power, prosperity, victory and glory (17-18). 17 There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. 18 His enemies I will clothe with shame, but on him his crown will shine.” Listen and FOLLOW us on our podcast Spotify: http://bit.ly/glccfil_spotify Apple Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-applepcast Google Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-googlepcast Audible Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-audible Follow us on various media platforms: https://gospellightfilipino.contactin.bio #gospellightfilipino #godswordfortoday #bookofPsalms
Yes, it's a little early, but this week we are talking about Memorial Day. The year 2024 marks the centennial of Raleigh's observance of national Memorial Day. Oakwood Cemetery hosts the event every year and is the final resting place for seven former governors, five U.S. Senators, eight state Supreme Court Justices, and four Civil War generals. This week, the authors of a new book on the topic join host Tim Boyum. The group shares a fascinating talk about the cemetery's history and the incredible stories. Later, they discuss the immense amount of N.C. State fans visiting former basketball coach Jim Valvano's grave as the current team made its run through March Madness.

The beautiful music is a Lullaby from Philip Spratley's Outlaw Suite, Opus 12. Lord, let me keep saying Yes to you! You have made known to me the paths of life; and You will fill me with joy in your presence. You reign over heaven and earth (Rev. 19:6), and I will give You thanks at all times, and in all places, for all things. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 5:20). My heart pants after You, for though Your way is mysterious and leads through the sea where your footprints are not seen, and even in the whirlwind, Your love is stronger than death, and Your desire for me is so much keener than mine for You, yet always leading home to You. You are not a servant to do our bidding and yet You allow us to enquire of You and (Ezekiel 36:37), and You take into account the little that we offer You. Come in Your glory and fill our hearts. Refresh our spirits with sweet cordial and living water from Your heavenly streams. Lift us above our limitations to embrace Your limitless life, so from that resting place we in turn may cultivate faith and creativity in the hearts and lives of many. Shape the likeness of Your Son in us, so that we do not miss out on any part of Your wonderful, uplifting command to rejoice in You, yes to rejoice always in You: to rejoice – always – in You, O God our eternal resting place, for we dwell under the shadow of Your wing. (Phil. 3:1, 4:4).

U+ > U++ > U+ PH12 will ignite a chain reaction that will change the world in an onomastic as opposed to an Oppenheimer way. THE QUIDDITY CONTEXT English transliteration of the Latin quidditas, meaning "whatness"; in scholastic usage it designates a thing's essence taken precisely in its capacity to inform the intellect of the answer to the question "what is it?" Related Terms. At most, a virtual minor distinction obtains between essence and quiddity: essence is the thing as capacity for existence, whereas quiddity is the thing as capacity to instruct the intellect. The quiddity of a thing, if definable, is analytically expressed in its real definition by its genus and specific difference. As such it is similar to, but more exact than, nature in Boethius's first sense: "Anything that can be grasped (by the intellect) in any way whatever" (De persona et duabus naturis 1; Patrologia Latina, 64:1341BC). Nature, in the more etymological and Aristotelian sense, is closer to essence than to quiddity inasmuch as nature signifies a thing's principle of operation—effective only through existence. Such are the comparisons between these terms suggested by St. Thomas Aquinas (De ente 1, 3). To these he adds form and Aristotle's phrase "the what was to be" (τò τί [symbol omitted] ν ε [symbol omitted] ναι, quod quid erat esse ). He defines the form that is convertible with essence and quiddity as "the complete essential determination" of a thing. Onomastics (or, in older texts, onomatology) is the study of the etymology, history, and use of proper names.[1] An alethonym ('true name') or an orthonym ('real name') is the proper name of the object in question, the object of onomastic study. alethonym The true name of an individual, as distinguished from a pseudonym, synonym, antonym.. orthonym The real name of a person who uses a pseudonym; the correct word for a concept in a specified language. FROM THE CELESTIAL TO THE TERRESTRIAL QUAESITUM is something that is sought; the solution to a problem According to Carl Jung, everything we experience that we forget is not forgotten but ends up in our unconscious. In the book Man & his Symbols, Jung states that when we forget something it's not that we lost it, but rather we suppressed it. According to Jung, the unconscious mind remembers almost everything. But to tap into the unconscious memory one must go through the shadow side or hidden self. Not to go too deep into Jung's ideas, but the shadow can be thought of as the self that resides within the unconscious mind. It has access to all our memories and often guides many of our decisions without our conscious knowledge of it. The shadow often controls the unconscious and the conscious mind often attempts to control the shadow. The point of all of this is to say that it seems to be the case that the shadow's main role is to avoid shame by embracing pain. The reason the conscious mind doesn't embrace the shadow is that the conscious mind seeks to avoid pain, and so we often avoid our hidden selves. Likewise, shame seems to bring out the shadow, and it drives us toward pain. Jung seemed to lay out a theory that the resolution to this contention was to integrate the shadow with the conscious mind. To find balance between the two. What this amounts to is pain and shame. That [ed., to] heal, to resolve, to recover and ultimately to regain our lost memories of who we are, we must embrace a degree of pain and shame and discomfort. “On a bare hill raise a signal flag, shout to them, wave your hand, so they might enter the gates of the princes!” Isaiah 13:2 NET “All you who live in the world, who reside on the earth, you will see a signal flag raised on the mountains; you will hear a trumpet being blown.” Isaiah 18:3 NET “At that time a root from Jesse will stand like a signal flag for the nations. Nations will look to him for guidance, and his residence (Resting Place menû·ḥāṯ) will be majestic (כָּבוֹד kā·ḇôḏ heaviness, burden; riches; reputation, importance; glory, splendor; distinction, honor; testimonial). At that time the sovereign master will again (second time X2M) lift his hand to reclaim the remnant of his people from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the seacoasts.” Isaiah 11:10-11 NET Isaiah 11:12-15 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.” M - STANDARD MILLENNIAL MONARCH We have quoted Isaiah 11:10 twice above and do so once more now because of its relation to Matthew 24:30. “In that day there shall be a root of Jesse who shall stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him and his royal resting place will be (the) Glory.” Again in the following verses it is said that in that day, the day of eschatological restoration of the exiled remnant, the Lord will “set up an ensign for the nations and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth” (vs. 12). Messiah himself, enthroned in the Glory, is here viewed as the rallying banner of the final, universal assembly. Several times elsewhere Isaiah speaks of the Glory-Spirit as the banner. In Isaiah 31, the Lord's descent over Zion for the defense of Jerusalem is compared to birds in flight and he is pictured as a flaming ensign from which the enemy princes flee in panic (vs. 9). In Isaiah 49, after a promise to give the servant as a light, to whom those in darkness will come from afar (vss. 5-9), God further promises: “I will lift up mine hand [120] to the Gentiles and set up my standard (nissi') to the people” (vs. 22a). As a result, the sons and daughters of Zion will be brought home from the lands of the Gentiles, as a prey rescued from the oppressors (vss. 22b-26). The hand-standard of verse 22 and the servant-light of verse 6 accomplish the same mission of world-wide ingathering and are to be identified, so that here, as in Isaiah 11, the messianic servant is seen as himself the Glory-light-banner. A Glorious Resting Place by park city church
In 1940, during World War II, a group of tirailleurs – soldiers from what were then French colonies – fought the invading German army. In France's Rhône region, just outside of Lyon, these brave men faced the enemy. Many were taken prisoner and ruthlessly executed. A military cemetery has been erected in their honour, taking the form of a traditional Senegalese burial ground. FRANCE 24's Florence Gaillard reports from Chasselay, where a tribute is held for these brave soldiers every year on November 11.

The Old North Church has stood proud in Boston's North End for 300 years, and it's probably best known for its role in Revolutionary War history. However, more than 1,100 bodies have been laid to rest over the years in the church's crypt, which recently underwent a major restoration project. Director of Education Catherine Matthews has details on the project, which is about to be completed with the final installation of the crypt's restored doors, and a look back at the famed church's impact on Boston.
Family First: Forgiveness - TRP Carrollwood | Joel Morales by The Resting Place
All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work. – 1 Timothy 3:16-17 God speaks to us through the Bible. That Book embodies His words. Creation itself is the visible embodiment of His power and wisdom. It is the result of His words. This Book of His is, in a different way, the effect of His speaking. It is His written wisdom and power. There is His voice to us. The thunder and tempest are His loud voice of grandeur. The sunshine and the gentle breeze are His still small voice. But deeper, clearer, keener, softer, and still more penetrating than all of these is His written Word to us. The Bible is what it is because it contains the words of God. It is through the Word, and in connection with it, that God communicates with us. The Word revives: Your word has revived me (Psalm 119:50). The word produces faith: Faith comes from hearing (Romans 10:17). The Word strengthens, comforts, heals, nourishes, and revives. It gets into contact with each part of our souls and works its own work there. And it does this because it is divine. No human words could be trusted to work the work in a human soul so unrestrictedly. It is not eloquence, poetry, nor argument, but something more than all these together. It is something peculiar and indescribable, which man could not have formed and which he cannot understand, that makes it so suitable for the soul of a foolish and sinful man.
