RECORDED BY HYPERION (EDDY GUTIERREZ) & ORIGINALLY AIRED 01 / 09 / 2008 Show Highlights: Holidays in the Unnamed Path are closely tied to what's going on in the environment around you and the changes in nature. Our holidays are gatherings where we offer our spiritual gifts to the greater community; there are anywhere from 3 to 5 different ones. The Circle of Blessing (occurs when the crops in the area are being planted) - magical goals are brought to the shamans to be manifested. The Circle of Light (occurs when diseases start arising) - Shamans gather in a large circle offering energy healing to the members of the community. The Circle of Bones (occurs when the leaves start falling from the trees - or what ever time best correlates to death in your environment) - Deathwalkers gather together and act as channelers allowing others to contact their dead loved ones. The Circle of Sight (occurs at the peak of the year) - A single shaman acts as a "seer" or prophet and enters into a trance allowing others to have their questions and answers divined. The Circle of Mysteries (occurs when the local wildflowers start blooming) - The sacred sexual union of the Dark and Light Gods is enacted through two Men-Who-Love-Men, experiencing the mysteries of our sexuality.

I recorded this episode a few weeks ago with the intention of having these thoughts preparing us weeks before Thanksgiving. Other episodes took priority and I never believe in coincidences, but that everything is for a purpose. We all needed to be reminded of turning chaos into Joy today. This was meant for you to listen to at this exact moment. So often we go into the holiday season with the right mindset and heart, but then we get caught up in all the things we have to do, all the things we need to be and parties we need to attend, We get burnt out and the negative attitudes take over. How is that helping and blessing anyone?? Hint: it's not.I pray today's episode encourages you, lights you on fire and blesses your life.I talk about the book “Sacred Holidays ; Less Chaos, More Jesus” but Becky Kiser and I highly recommend it!!Find me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adrianne.m.taylorInstagram @adrianne_joyful

In this conversation recorded back in November of 2017, Daniel Hill from Chicago is talking about white supremacy, racism and his own awakening to his white cultural background.  Listen to understand: - why people so often congregate with their own racial groups even when given many positive opportunities to interact with others.    - What makes white people so oblivious to white culture - What we can all do to be less ignorant and make race relations better   Discussion questions: 1) Where have you believed the lie of white supremacy (the unconscious or conscious belief that white people are more valuable) in your own life? 2) Think about an occasion where you now recognize you minimized racism as just ‘insensitivity’.  Do you need to repent? What would you do differently next time? 3) Do you surround yourself with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds? What steps can you take to become more culturally aware? Becky Kiser is a woman who does the next thing in front of her. When she looks back to see the ground she's covered, she's surprised and sometimes overwhelmed. But she focuses back on the next step. Becky is the founder and CEO of Sacred Holidays, she's a certified Myers-Briggs Personal Coach, and a mom to three girls. She is a woman on a mission to keep Scripture in front of other women. Whether a prison, or a Christmas tea, Becky's hope is to keep women filled. In this episode we talk Myers-Briggs types, what childcare looks like, being open about what makes the spinning plates of life work. From Sacred Holidays to writing projects we break down how Becky takes that next step, does that hard thing, in order to be a world changer for good right were she is. Both insightful and funny, creative and intentional, and a Thinker on the Myers-Briggs personality type, she is uniquely wired to do the work set in front of her. She is a joy to listen to and we are thrilled to have her as part of the sisterhood. You won't want to miss this interview that is classic Open Door Sisterhood. Part practical and part inspirational, Becky Kiser is a woman we are happy to introduce you.

My guest for Happy Hour #117 is Becky Kiser, founder of Sacred Holidays, a small business connecting the heart of women to the heart of God during the holidays they celebrate. She is also a MBTI Certified Personal & Executive Coach with orbitingnormal.org and loves working with women, small business owners, non-profits, and teams. Becky, her husband and three beautiful girls live in The Woodlands, TX and are a part of Church Project. She’s addicted to ice tea, loves Texas summers, and is usually reading three books at once (although it’s a lot of picture books these days).  In our conversation, we chat about how Becky created Sacred Holidays, including the vision behind it and her dreams for the future. She shares about her experience as a life coach – which is obviously now going on my Christmas list. We walk through the rough start to her marriage, leading her and her husband to discovering their unique personalities and learning to give grace to one another along the way. Becky also shares about her recent health issues, how she’s responding and what’s next in the unknown. And finally, if you have extra time on your hands, you’ll get a good dose of Netflix recommendations. {You can listen to the showHERE.
