Europe's macro outlook is shifting. After years of fiscal restraint and fragmented policy, the region is entering a new chapter one centered on pro-growth fiscal policy, energy security, and capital-market reform. For investors, this transformation signals the potential for renewed momentum in European equities and fixed income. In this episode of The Bid, host Oscar Pulido speaks with Helen Jewell, Chief Investment Officer for EMEA Fundamental Equities, and Roelof Salomons, Chief Investment Strategist for Northern Europe at the BlackRock Investment Institute, about how Europe's evolving macro and investing environment is creating new opportunities across sectors. They explore how fiscal flexibility is enabling investment in productivity and innovation, how energy transition and AI demand are reshaping infrastructure and power markets, and why European banks, defense companies, and energy-efficiency leaders have emerged as standouts. The conversation also looks at the valuation gap between Europe and the U.S., the implications of potential ECB rate cuts, and what reforms could drive a broader, more durable resurgence.Key Takeaways:· Europe's shift toward fiscal flexibility marks its first explicitly pro-growth stance in over a decade.· The intersection of energy transition and AI is driving infrastructure and power investment.· Banks, defense, and efficiency-focused industrials remain strong performers.· Europe still trades at a discount to the U.S., offering selective opportunity.· Integration of capital markets could unlock long-term competitiveness.Key moments in this episode:00:00 Introduction: Europe's Economic Challenges and Optimism01:10 Meet the Experts: Helen Jewell and Roelof Salomons02:17 Historical Context: Europe's Economic Journey03:51 Current Barriers and Progress in Europe05:40 Sector Focus: Defense, Banks, and Energy08:49 Fiscal Policy and Unified European Growth10:33 Energy and AI: The Long-Term Investment Landscape14:30 Valuation and Market Opportunities in Europe17:17 Conclusion: Path to a Broad Resurgence in Europe19:21 Closing Remarks and Future OutlookEurope investing; Europe macro; European equities; investing in Europe; capital-markets union; energy transition Europe; European fiscal policy; European banks; AI power demand; ECB rate cuts; BlackRock Investment Institute; European defense; valuation gap; competitiveness in EuropeSources: “What's needed for an investment renaissance in Europe?”, BlackRock Investment Institute, October 2025; NATO, August 2025; BlackRock Fundamental Equities analysis, September 2025; “Entering The Age of Electricity”, IEA Electricity Demand 2025;This content is for informational purposes only and is not an offer or a solicitation. “Oral history is a field of study and a method of gathering, preserving, and interpreting the voices and memories of people, communities, and participants in past events.” That is the definition provided by no less an authority than the Oral History Association. And yet this brief, simple, and seemingly authoritative definition is accompanied by some ambiguity. On the one hand the Oral History Association proclaims that oral history is the oldest type of historical inquiry, stemming back to the origins of humanity itself. But on the other hand, oral history is one of the newest types of historical discipline, owing its birth to the invention of recording technology, and its rapid technological , from the introduction of magnetic tape recorders as consumer devices in 1947, to in 2025 the widespread field use of the superb digital recording studio and processor you typically refer to as your “phone”.With us to explain the basics of the discipline of Oral History is Douglas A. He is co-editor of Oral History and Digital Humanities: Voice, Access, Engagement (2014), producer of the documentary Kentucky Bourbon Tales: Distilling the Family Spirit, and author of Crawfish Bottom: Recovering a Lost Kentucky Community. Most founders underestimate how much strategy, preparation, and marketing it actually takes to run a successful Reg CF or Reg A+ crowdfunding campaign. Legal compliance matters — but according to attorney Marty Tate, one of the most respected experts in regulated investment crowdfunding, momentum and marketing ultimately determine whether your raise succeeds or fails. In this episode of Test. Optimize. Scale., Marty breaks down the real mechanics behind Reg CF, Reg D, and Reg A+; the timelines founders should expect; what derails campaigns; and why only a small percentage of issuers ever hit seven figures. Whether you're exploring your first crowdfunding raise or preparing to scale into a larger Reg A+, this conversation will help you set your campaign up the right way and avoid the costly mistakes first-time issuers usually make.

Michael Jaco and Sheila Holm come together for one of the most explosive conversations yet, pulling back the curtain on the deep corruption embedded in America's political and historical foundation. Sheila presents stunning revelations about the legitimacy of multiple past U.S. presidents, outlining how hidden networks, secret societies, and entrenched power structures have manipulated American governance for generations. Together, they break down the true significance of Veterans Day and examine how the nation has repeatedly failed its warriors. Sheila discusses the inspiration behind her book, Warrior's Battlefield Strategy Devotional, connecting its spiritual insights to the larger battle for America's future. The discussion expands into the rewriting of historical narratives, the infiltration of government institutions, and how elite groups have shaped public perception and policy from behind the scenes. They also address the misuse of advanced technologies, the realities of silent warfare being carried out against American citizens, and the spiritual and psychological conditioning that has kept people unaware of the forces working against them. Sheila's extensive research and Michael's intuitive perspective combine to form a powerful, clarifying picture of the challenges the nation is facing, the threats advancing on multiple fronts, and the awakening now taking place across the country. This is a deeply informative and revealing conversation for those seeking to understand the forces shaping America's past, present, and future—and what it will take to reclaim the nation's integrity and unity.
