Hosts Hannah brown (@hannahabrown) and Tyler Meredith (@tylermckmeredith) are not feeling the diabolical and dramatic dealings of this weeks installment of the GG reboot. Prior to the drama of the ep, we talk all things Olympics, why Simone Biles is the hero we don't deserve and we are slightly indifferent to Bravo at the moment. Getting to the entree of the picnic, we are not buying this fruit salad mashup of plot lines that we are presented with this week. All we are asking for is a perfectly toasted smore of drama and goofiness and we don't think thats asking too much! Despite some disappointments, this weeks stars are clearly Monet and Luna who are the chicest and wittiest of the entire Constance crew. And thank the Upper East Side heavens, DONNA MURPHY shows up to bring some major star power! We mostly walk away with questions: namely will there be a season 2, are pasta tours a thing and can Luna give us makeovers a la Cluess? We remain hopeful that the theatrics of this weeks episode are setting up a full on opera level of insanity for next weeks ep. Will we ever be hip enough to sit on the met steps with queens of constance? I mean, probs not but that's one secret we'll never tell. From Aesop's Fables to the Bible, Shauna and Dan look at how A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing made it into English and how we still use it today. Along the way, we learn Dan believes in aliens, mostly cause as Shauna says, "Space: There's a lot of it." Bonus: Dan mixes up baby bears and baby wolves for no apparent reason. The English language is filled with sheep imagery. If you can’t sleep, we try “counting sheep.” If you’re accused of something, you try to look “as innocent as a lamb.” Saying you’ll be there “in two shakes of a lamb’s tail” means you’ll be there quickly. And we all know it’s not a good thing to be the “black sheep of the family.” One such example, taken from the Bible, is “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” This phrase refers to someone pretending to be harmless or part of a group in order to prey upon that group. Their disguise and wicked intentions pose a serious danger. Jesus taught that false prophets are wolves in sheep’s clothing (v. 15). They’re the opposite of what they say they are, and they mislead people by claiming to speak the word of the Lord when they do not. Jesus gives another example, using fruit as an illustration. True prophets are known by their fruit. Good trees will bear good fruit and vice versa (vv. 16 20). This is not just a probability but guaranteed by nature, although it does take discernment and wisdom to evaluate fruit accurately. This principle also applies to the issue of true versus false disciples (vv. 21–23). A verbal confession by itself is not enough, nor are even apparent miracles. “Only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” is the real deal. Obedience is an indicator of true faith (see James 2:14–17). The fakers are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Finally, we see the comparison to two houses built by wise and foolish builders (vv. 24–27). While on the outside both houses looked good, the storm revealed the very different quality of their foundations. One would last. The other would be destroyed. >> On what foundation are you building the “house” of your life? Be honest. Your activities and use of time and money show your priorities. What do they reveal about your end goals in life?

1911, Arkansas House bill 79, Act 320 also known as the “one-drop rule.” This law had two goals: it made interracial “cohabitation” a felony, and it defined as “Negro” anyone “who has…any negro blood whatever,” thus relegating to second-class citizenship anyone accused of having any African ancestry. “The first 23 Black congressmen were Republican.” It is mostly accurate that the Republican Party formed to oppose the extension of slavery, although up until the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, Abraham Lincoln and other Republicans pledged not to interfere with slavery in states where it existed. And the first 23 African Americans in Congress did belong to the Republican Party, due to the GOP's support of voting rights and the Democratic Party's embrace of white supremacy. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/according-2-b-matthews/support

Join me this week as we dig deeper into the Big Bad Wolf and why I believe he is a serial killer. In the crime safety security.com site it says: “Serial killers look perfectly normal and may be above average in intelligence. You may very well have met one and found him charming or, if nothing else, forgettable. You may know a killer and never realize it – because he doesn't seem the least bit like a monster. They blend in with the rest of us without arousing the slightest suspicion.” If you have any information about the Big Bad Wolf please leave us a tip at (661) 544-8226. Some one knows something. When the young wife of a pastor suddenly passed away in what seems to be a tragic fire, his church congregation rallies behind him to offer support. But of course, nothing is as it seems. Nick and Dawn Hacheney had been married for over 6 years at the time of Dawn’s death. On the outside, their marriage looked idyllic. Everyone assumed the couple was much in love. After Dawn's death, Nick, who was a youth pastor in local Bainbridge Island’s Christ Community Church, garnered love and support from all throughout the church and it’s members. In particular, 5 different women who he would manipulate into doing the unthinkable and begin sexual relationships with him.It wasn’t long before this twisted love triangle would grow out of control and the lies were too hard to hide and eventually, the real reason behind Dawn’s death would come out.Join us on our season 2 finale episode as we discuss the death of Dawn Hacheney and just how her husband managed to use his position as a church leader to get away with her murder for almost 3 years. The one thing more threatening than a snarling wolf at the door is the one in sheep’s clothing. The unknown threat that you’re not prepared for lurking in your place of sanctuary. Perhaps someone you trust or something you’ve too long taken for granted. As we’ll learn in today’s stories, unforeseen danger should be feared the most. First, coveted mittens are more than what was wished for Followed by sisters who must take on the man in the attic Then, find out the horrifying history of a family home Finally in our featured story, a warning to those who don’t take devils seriously Learn more about your ad choices. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). Not everyone can be taken at face value. There are people who are going to try to deceive you. But Jesus isn't telling you to adopt a "Don't Trust Anyone" attitude. That's the devil's lie that he wants to implant in your mind. Jesus encourages us to know when the wolves come to us in sheep's clothing. To know enough of what we believe, teach and confess to know when someone is trying to lead us astray. This involves Bible study. Both individual and group. As we come to the end of the school year, many churches in our area take a break from Sunday morning Bible studies for the summer. I encourage you to take advantage of those congregations, like Trinity, that continue to have Bible studies during the week. Be in God's Word and you will well-equipped to battle the wolves when they come. Amen.
