Grab a slice of cake and bung a candle in it folks, because it's The Parlour's 13th birthday! As a little tasty treat for you all, I bring you a solo Stacebob mini episode, in which I tackle some questions from my listeners. Find out my feelings on grey aliens, which jam is the best, and what my entrance music would be if I were a wrestler. All this, plus a very mini review of Companion. Huge thanks to everyone who has tuned in and supported the show in any way at any point over the last 13yrs; you're all stars. Cheers! Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs is back with us this episode, and we're talking about one of the most important directors that horror has ever seen - John Carpenter! From The Thing to Assault on Precinct 13, it's all here! As are all the tangents that Glenn and Dunc go on in one of their episodes. Please, join us on the ride! It'll be fun, honest! Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs is back with us again, and as promised last time he joined us, we're talking about 1991's The Addams Family! Definitely a movie with one foot firmly in the 80s, we talk about how it updated the 60's show, how we remembered watching that show in the 80s, and everything inbetween! JOIN US. Or Thing will find you. Back to the Eighties @ Twitter: @BTTEPOD Back to the 80's on Facebook: facebook.com/bttepod
Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us this week to discuss 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - expect laughs and shocks galore as we explore this new take on Film Noir, complete with all the complexities with making not only a groundbreaking movie, but having to please two powerful studios at the same time! Also: Judge Doom. Bloody scary. Back to the Eighties @ Twitter: @BTTEPOD Back to the 80's on Facebook: facebook.com/bttepod
Spoiler alert; we're back on the Vimto!
Who's up for a lovely repast of quiche?
Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again this week to talk about what he got up to in the Nineties - the music, movies, TV shows and video games that made him the way he is. Which might explain a lot, to be honest. Back to the Eighties @ Twitter: @BTTEPOD Back to the 80's on Facebook: facebook.com/bttepod
I'm almost 100% sure we can't confidently actually call this an episode about WildC.A.T.S...
We apologise in advance for all the terrible jokes in this episode.
Look, we talked about cats and Christmas, so that's close enough, right?! Too much pud.
Christmas is coming! And our first guest during the festive period is Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs, who's here to talk about his memories of a late Eighties Christmas! We also take a look at the TV listings from 1989 and see what we would have been watching that Christmas season! Back to the Eighties @ Twitter: @BTTEPOD Back to the 80's on Facebook: facebook.com/bttepod
In a surprising twist, we actually talk about Rambo a fair bit!
While the cat's away, the idiots will waffle.
Totally jawesome...
Boop beep boop, beep boop beep
Why isn't he even James Bond's kid though?!
Darkly satirical in the same vein as Robocop.
Name a famous magician that wears a top hat! (Stay tuned at the end for bonus non-C.O.P.S waffle!)

What is the point of a pocket square?
It might not be Hallowe'en anymore, but it's still dark out there, so let's have Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs talk about the HBO horror anthology series, Tales From The Crypt! Get ready for some tales of woe and intrigue, along with some just desserts and one of the best cast lists for anything, ever! Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs is back with us, and this time he's getting all excited about the movies of the legend that is John Woo, from Asian cinema, to Hollywood, and back again, bringing his own brand of imagery and stylised violence with him. If you like doves, standoffs and especially dual wielding whilst flying through the air, you've definitely come to the right place. We watched Savage Dragon, so of course, we're talking about Arnie movies! What are your Top 3? (If you agree with me (Stacey), I'll send you cookies!*) *Cookies are entirely fictional, sorry.
Kippers for breakfast? Is it St Swithin's Day already? (Sorry about the audio dropouts. Gotta love technology...)
Is the delay in this episode due to sickness, or is it time travel shenanigans? You decide! Twitter: @StaceysParlour Tip Jar: Stacey's Ko-Fi page
Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again, and this time he's here to spotlight the cult classic Weird Al Yankovic movie from 1989, UHF! We all know him for his various parodies but how many of you actually knew he'd done a movie? Well, now you know. And you ALL should what knowing is. Imagine if someone thought horrific anthropomorphic balls would be a great cartoon...
Dinosaurs! Vimto! Cadillacs! Oh my!
Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs is back with us, and this time he's bringing us one of his very favourite movies. All the way from 1988, it's the classic "aliens land on Earth and become part of society in a heavy handed allegory of immigration politics of the time" movie, Alien Nation! Not only that, but we also take a look at the short-lived but much-loved TV show that came after it! I honestly think it'd be great if they brought it back, to be honest. What do YOU lot think? Let us know! Back to the Eighties @ Twitter: @BTTEPOD Back to the 80's on Facebook: facebook.com/bttepod
What could possibly go wrong?!
This week is all about the classic Eighties' Schwarzenegger movie (very loosely based on a story by Stephen "Richard Bachman" King) The Running Man! To delve deep into this awesomeness, we've enlisted the help of Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs, so please join us as we look at the game show to end all game shows, and see what last season's contestants are up to! Gotta go fast! Or something.
It's a Stacey's Choice Special! Everyone hates it.
Ho ho ho, Merry almost-Christmas! The Dweebs and I are back, and feelin' festive! WOW!
We're watching Mummies Alive!, so of course we're talking about such relevant things as whether voles are swole, The People's Eyebrow and He-Man's undercrackers. Enjoy! PS. We're all sick, and technology is a git. Twitter: @StaceysParlour Ko-Fi: www.ko-fi.com/staceysparlour
Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again for the second of our Nineties specials, and this time we're talking about the comic book movie failures in the wake of Batman being released in 1989. See, the movie studios all wanted another comic book movie hit, but weren't willing to spend the money to licence Marvel or DC characters, so they bought all of the pulp heroes of the 1930s to try and make it happen. We're focusing on the Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, The Phantom and The Shadow, and trying to figure out why they didn't catch on like Batman did. (SPOILER: Mainly because they weren't Batman.) Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs is back with us this week, and we're talking about the 1980 movie comedy that brought forth a movie genre that exists to this very day - the movie parody! From Airplane! to The Naked Gun, from BASEketball to Epic Movie, this was the one that started it all - how did it become so popular! We'll find out today! Welcome one and all to the newest podcast under The Parlour's umbrella; Stacebob And The Dweebs! (Tagline to be confirmed). In this very fruity first episode, Rich introduces Duncan & I to the world of The California Raisins Show. We are not happy about it... Also included; a not-really-accidental advert for Vimto, the two acceptable forms of grapes, a very toothy pepper and I can't pronounce the word "currant"...! Enjoy!
In this one off episode Barry aka Nuge and Stacey aka Stacebob of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour join podcast forces for a morning cuppa and a chat. Stace finally gets to talk about Rogue One (no spoliers) film and its soundtrack, Kill or be Killed and Bojack Horseman. Barry gushes over The Boat and The War Doctor audio dramas from Big Finish. Tune in as I talk to myself about Doctor Strange and how he's kind of a bellend, how utterly perfect the Hark! There are pretty huge spoilers for all of the above contained within, so consider yourself warned, innit. Enjoy! Episode Theme - 'Boyfriend' by Tegan & Sara End Theme - 'Talk To Me' by Run The Jewels

As it's International Podcast Day (someone get me a cake, STAT!), I thought I'd treat you all to this little gem/mess; Episode 0 of Comic Racks! What's Comic Racks, you say? Well, it was only my first foray into the world of podcast co-hostery, along with my good friend and fellow nerdy bird, Iz. Originally airing waaaaaay back on 25th October 2007 on the Geek Syndicate feed, this episode was a huge ramblefest in which we basically tested the waters of podcasting, so don't be expecting any level of professionalism, or structure. We were both relatively new to the nerdy scene at the time, so also don't expect us to know what the heck is going on at all! From the Geek Syndicate vaults: "We are proud to present Episode 0 of what we hope will become our sister podcast, Comic Racks, featuring the First Ladies of Geek Syndicate, Stacebob and Iz! Like Geek Syndicate they will be looking at all things geek, but from a female perspective. In this preview episode they chat about the Birmingham Comic Convention 2007 as well as their fave TV shows, movies, books and superheroes."I hope you enjoy this peek into my podcasting past; please be kind; I know the sound on this isn't great but we didn't really know what we were doing at the time, and also weren't sure we were going to do another episode so didn't bother investing in good equipment straight away! Feel free to come chat with me on Twitter (@StaceysParlour), join the Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour Facebook group, follow my vaguely nerdy Instagrammings (@StacebobT) or email me at staceysparlour@gmail.com. Any feedback, reviews and ratings on iTunes or your podcatcher of choice are greatly appreciated. Happy Podcast Day!
Hello, and welcome, to Episode 51 of Comic Racks! Before the frivolity of an exciting blurb begins, I, Stacebob, your Chief Rambler and Editor this episode, would like to formally apologise for the dodgy sound quality during parts of this...
Hello there, fair listener, and welcome to episode 52 of Comic Racks! This episode, Stacebob is joined by the lovably scummy Dave Dwonch; comic writer, artist and fellow podcaster for the Geek Savants. Hear their thoughts on a Wanted sequel,...
Due to some utterly ridiculous technical issues (read: Stacebob’s PC being a MASSIVE BELL-END), this episode both sounds a bit crap and gets abandoned before the ladies hit the first Main Topic they’ve had planned for an absolute age… But...
SURPRISE!!!!..In this super secret episode Barry and Stace from Comic Racks join forces in this explosive episode. No episode blurb just sit back and wonder at just how many tangents these two can go off on without their respective co-hosts to keep them on the straight and narrow. Oh and there might be some singing...you have been warned! Enjoy!!!!
Episode 11 - Pigs are FunnyBack to their regular programming (hopefully), Iz and Stace bring you a lazy, but still rather good if we do say so ourselves, episode of Comic Racks! In this reviewtastic episode, the ladies talk you through some of their reading and TV watching highlights from the last few weeks. Much rambling on the subject of Torchwood takes place, and Iz finally gets around to starting Death Note, hoorah! Stacebob tries desperately, and quite badly, to describe the sheer brilliance that is Ubu Bubu #1, as Iz reveals a rather controversial Tail of the Racks...In our not-so-much-news segment, Stace botches a news story about a Whedon musical, Iz muses on the sanity of Tom Cruise and we discuss the pros and cons of spoof movies. As well as all this juicy content, Stace almost wets herself recalling her brush with the Futureheads, and the ladies finally get Rack Music properly off the ground with our choices for this episode.Enjoy!
We are proud to present Episode 0 of, what we hope will become our sister podcast, Comic Racks(working title subject to change) featuring the first ladies of the Geek Syndicate Iz and Stacebob. Like GS the they will be looking at all thing geek but from a female perspectiveIn this preview episode they chat about the Birmingham Comic Convention as well as their fave tv shows, movies, books and superheroes.Enjoy and if you do enjoy it let the girls know otherwise we may never hear another episode!!!
Anyone who has followed us from the beginning will have seen us face Werewolves,Vampires,Sony Ninjas and the dreaded EPOC. Now we face our greatest challenge yet. Ladies and Gentlegeeks Geek syndicate are proud to present our Listener of the month Stace aka Stacebob...enjoy!
