In this AIl New episode of WTIF the legendary Charles Fleischer joins the We Think It's Funny crew for a whirlwind conversation that is as eccentric as it is profound. Fleischer dives deep into the legacy of voicing Roger Rabbit and how that iconic role fundamentally shifted his reality, before pivoting into the surprisingly meticulous details of his daily medication and vitamin routines. The dialogue transitions from the physical to the metaphysical, tackling "big picture" questions about spirituality, God, and the grounding power of putting on tephillin. To top it off, Fleischer shares priceless, first-hand stories from the comedy trenches featuring legends Robin Williams and Richard Pryor, making this an episode that balances high-energy nostalgia with deep, existential reflection.
Message us ANONYMOUSLYNovelist and also podcast host (Writing While Handicapped), Derek McFadden rejoins us for his latest choice "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?!" (1988 d. Zemeckis) Starring: Bob Hoskins (3x People's Sexiest Man Alive), Christopher Lloyd, and Joanna Cassidy. This blend of hand drawn animation, Warner & Disney characters, and work in volumes was a trailblazing piece of filmmaking 30 + years ago, but how does that hold up against the master works of today (Jason X, Morbius), and does it really hold up at all? A discussion about how certain parts of certain people might could move in a certain way that is uncertainly certain to be certainly up down around and the whole deal. Sure, everybody remembers Jessica Rabbit's night club performance. But do you remember Bob Hoskins's forward roll? Part 2 of our Feb-noir series.
-The show rips into the Super Bowl halftime spectacle, blasting Bad Bunny's untranslated, highly explicit lyrics and wondering why the NFL thought “Spanish-only air-humping” was a winning strategy. -Comedy takes over when Shawn Farash lights up the show with a rapid-fire Donald Trump impression, praising good bunnies, pardoning Roger Rabbit, and declaring himself the undisputed Bunny Whisperer-in-Chief. This week we finish out our LA neo-noir series with the revolutionary Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Robert Zemeckis directed this adaptation of Gary K. Wolf's 1981 novel, Who Censored Roger Rabbit?, a hilariously smart satire that leads hard-boiled private detective Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) on a journey to prove one of Toon Town's biggest stars, Roger Rabbit (voice of Charles Fleischer) is not guilty of murder. Together they must clear Roger's name and save him from the dreadful Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd). Nominated for 6 Academy Awards and winning 3, the film was an astonishing blend of live-action and animation, creating new technology along the way. It is also the only film to include characters from both Disney and Warner Bros. together onscreen. We're off next week, but we'll be back with some holiday cheer in December!

This film...wow. The spiritual successor to The Thing With Two Heads, we discuss 1990's Heart Condition, easily the worst film Denzel has ever been in. In what feels like an attempt to cash in on the success of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, this poorly imagined race comedy inserts Denzel into the Roger Rabbit role and instantly jumps into our worst things we've watched list. An insane film where Bob Hoskins throws out slurs left and right and somehow ends up the father of a Black child. We ask if this is Denzel's worst role, what even makes a good racial comedy, and invent the role of racism stunt double (Key and Peele call us!). As always, hit us up on the socials at @whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod on IG and TikTok and write to us at whitepeoplewontsaveyoupod@gmail.com We'll be back next week to talk about the recently released remake of The Running Man.

THE GREATEST SEQUELS NEVER MADE! Dive into the ultimate "what if" rabbit hole with Reel Rejects' Greg Alba & Coy Jandreau as they unpack cancelled sequels and unmade movies that could've rewritten Hollywood history! From Kylo Ren's scrapped Star Wars solo film and David Fincher's dark Star Wars vision to epic follow-ups like Alita: Battle Angel 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield's Sinister Six showdown, and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 featuring Vulture and Anne Hathaway's Black Cat— these abandoned movie sequels had killer plots, A-list talent, and game-changing concepts that got shelved for good (or bad) reasons. In this unmade movies deep dive, we break down Darren Aronofsky's gritty Batman: Year One, Neill Blomkamp's District 10, Dredd 2 with Judge Death, Edge of Tomorrow 2: Live Die Repeat and Repeat, the terrifying E.T. 2: Nocturnal Fears, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, The Godfather Part IV with Leo DiCaprio as young Sonny, Gremlins 3 in Vegas, Joel Schumacher's Batman Unchained, the wild Jurassic Park 4 dino-human hybrids, Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 3, Man of Steel 2 with Brainiac and Supergirl, the original Matrix 4 pitch, The Nice Guys 2, Roger Rabbit 2: Who Discovered Roger Rabbit, Tim Burton's Batman 3, Tim Miller's Deadpool 2, David Fincher's World War Z 2, and Zack Snyder's Justice League sequels complete with Darkseid, Knightmare timelines, and a Bruce Kent epilogue! I don't know what to tell you, a lot of this one is about Final Fantasy Tactics and Roger Rabbit.
It's our 10th anniversary year, and what better way to celebrate than revisiting the zany, genre-blending classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit! We dive back into the ToonTown chaos, the noir vibes of Eddie Valiant, and the groundbreaking mix of animation and live-action that still stuns decades later. Grab your Acme props—this rewatch is going to be one wild ride!
It's our fourth episode of the increasingly-inaccurately-titled Patreon Request "Month" 2025, and in the longest official episode of this podcast to date, the randomizer is going all the way back to 1988 to pick ArthurCrane's request for, quite simply, one of the greatest cinematic triumphs of all time, a tour-de-force of animation, live action and pre-CGI special effects wizardry, wrapped up in a still-relevant metaphorical fable about civil rights and gentrification set in an impossible fantasy world that combines a gritty film noir aesthetic with off-the-wall cartoon zaniness. Directed by future Oscar-winning blockbuster visionary Robert Zemeckis at the peak of his powers, with animation directed by often-underappreciated genius Richard Williams, and representing a Disney studio with new management eager to swing for the fences and conquer the world, this masterpiece was truly a once-in-a-lifetime perfect melding of artistry, ambition and anarchy. And granted, the whole project was blown out of the water just a few years later by the even greater achievement that was Ralph Bakshi's Cool World, but this movie was still pretty darn swell too. MRI UpdateI went in for a neck MRI after I tripped over a dog bed in the dark. It has been a minute and I've been living on a steady diet of Advil and Tylenol. My chiropractor suggested the MRI. I haven't gotten my results yet, but as far as MRI's going, it wasn't terrible (the Xanax helped). But the staff was kind and they prepped my really well. I asked the technician if he thought MRI's would ever be silent. He said...."no." Bummer.5 4 3 2 1 MethodGrocery shopping is much more stressful than it should be. But don't worry – there's a hack for that! If you've been on TikTok, you've probably seen that there's the 5-4-3-2-1 method. It's a grocery shopping hack that'll cut your grocery shopping down - both time-wise and cost-wise. So, what is it? It's the numbers for you to keep in mind when you go shopping. Your goal should be to buy five vegetables, four fruits, three proteins, two starches, and one item for fun. It takes the guesswork out of grocery shopping and will keep you from getting overwhelmed or overbuying.Boat Cruise RecapIt was a blast and sadly, there is video of me doing the "Roger Rabbit."Second Date UpdateSamantha called us about Luis. On this episode of Pop Culture Weekly with Kyle McMahon we've got an absolutely stacked lineup: Tony Hale, Darcy Carden, David Archuleta and Seth Worley, Bianca Belle and Kalon Kox, Yeah, try fitting all that talent into one podcast - good luck, Apple Podcasts algorithm!First up, director Seth Worley and actors Bianca Belle and Kalon Cox take us inside their wild, heartfelt film Sketch - a movie inspired by childhood doodles, sprinkled with Roger Rabbit chaos, and stirred with a dash of Inside Out feels. Then comedy icons Tony Hale and D'Arcy Carden drop by to talk about finding humor (and yes, actual whimsy) in grief. Who else could make you laugh and cry in the same breath better than these two?And just when you think we couldn't pack in more greatness, David Archuleta joins me for a deep, hilarious, and surprisingly candid convo. We cover everything: his “lover boy era,” sliding into DMs, the bilingual bangers on his new EP Earthly Delights, and how he's turned fame, anxiety and faith into an unstoppable creative force. Oh, and of course - tour talk, because David isn't just bringing the feels, he's bringing the full-on stage spectacle. Here's what you'll hear in this episode:
This week on Toon'd In!, Jim Cummings welcomes the brilliantly funny, fiercely talented, and always unpredictable April Winchell—the unforgettable voice behind Clarabelle Cow, Sylvia from Wander Over Yonder, and a legacy of sharp, standout characters across animation and beyond! From outrageous comedy to heartfelt performances, April brings her signature wit and candor to a conversation that's equal parts hilarious and insightful. She and Jim reminisce about their adventures behind the mic, the creative chaos of classic cartoons, and the art of bringing eccentric, lovable characters to life in a way only she can.
