Why is there so much apostasy? The bible says we have a choice, that we must choose to enter by the strait gate, and yet "few there be that find it."  When the church started to go through many different phases in the last 30 years or so, many believers didn't follow up on warnings, and as such it has become very difficult to keep up. And to say there is sorcery in the church, that is something many may not understand; but through the New Age and experientially-based Christianity, this has indeed become the case. Times ahead may get tougher, so we have to ask ourselves, are we standing firm on the foundation of truth?

The world situation is dire. The US economy is in its death throes. Europe is also coming apart. Store shelves will soon be empty. War is threatened or has already erupted in every region. And the same is happening in the microcosm of nearly every ego. Chaos is accelerating to final destruction. Yet this is a blessing, a merciful quick end to a dying world. The Light of God is becoming more palpable as well, at least to those souls who have faith in and love for the Supreme Lord. We have the inherent right to choose redemption while still alive. Grace is given to all whose hearts are open.

In the second episode of "The Cross," Duane Sheriff teaches the significance of the cross and how our eternal fate is determined by our belief in what Jesus accomplished through His sacrifice. Once a symbol of terror, the cross has transformed into a symbol of hope and love. This pivotal event marks a turning point for all of history and eternity. What way are you travelling to get to heaven? It leads through a 'narrow gate'. By God's grace, the way is though Christ alone.

The Bible speaks very simply of two roads and two destinies. One road is broad and very crowded. It has room for everybody's opinions and ideas. It has room for every pleasure and distraction you can think of. Unfortunately, multitudes choose this road. It's easy and it steadily flows along day after day as we pursue our own desires. However, the other road is narrow. There's no room for a hundred different viewpoints and a thousand different pleasure trips – there's only room for God's way, for righteousness and truth. Unlike the other road, this one goes up – upwards to heaven, and it's a road we'd all be wise to choose. 

Matthew 7:13-14 — Did Jesus shape the gospel to fit humanity, or did He shape humanity to fit His gospel? In this sermon on Matthew 7:13–14 titled “The Strait Gate…” that Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones preached to an American audience in 1969, he addressed the great charge often brought against Christians for being narrow. He preaches of the importance of guarding against becoming too “wide.” The church has been so anxious to please modern humanity that the gospel message has been lost. Dr. Lloyd-Jones declares that Christians must boldly stand their ground as being narrow Christians. Christ delighted and exalted in this idea of being narrow. Why did Christ choose to call His way of living “narrow”? The Bible deliberately specializes in one subject—the human soul. The gospel is intensely personal. The world resents narrowness, but it is this very narrowness that would lead to paradise. Salvation is “narrow” through the death of one man. No one can meet God without the cross of Christ. Turn to Him and He will receive His people unto Himself. Straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life. Only Christ can take away sin through His sacrificial death on Calvary. Go in for God's salvation. You'll find a Saviour waiting to bless you.
