Today, our way to God is through Jesus Christ. In OT God spoke to the people through HIS prophets.

(This podcast was previously published on September 3, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   In the New Testament, Jesus shows us the Word will divide us from those who have not been given God's Word on the matter at hand.   Matthew 10   Jesus says:   34  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.   (Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)   Think of the Word of God as a sword which cuts through the flesh of man and separates.   35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.   36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.   37 He that loveth father or mother more than ME (the Word) is not worthy of ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than ME is not worthy of ME.   38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after ME (the Word), is not worthy of ME.   39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake (for the sake of the Word)  shall find it.   The Word of God divides us from those people who have not heard from God.   But the Word of God also joins us with those people who have heard from God.   We know the Word from God is good and it is sometimes shocking that others, especially when in our church group, fight against that Word we bring from God.   Pam Padgett encountered this when she told a divorced woman from her church group that if she remarried she would commit adultery.   This woman said, "I don't care what the Bible says.  I know what I believe."   Pam was so shocked to hear that a Christian didn't care what the Bible says.   But many who attend churches are not born again and God has not revealed HIMSELF to such who live this way.

And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?   2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:   3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.   (Eve added to that which God said.  God did not say, "Neither shall ye touch it.")   The following is what God commanded to Adam:   Genesis 2   15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.   16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:   17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.   When a person adds to the Word of God, he weakens that Word of God.  Because that person who does this knows he added something and therefore it becomes difficult for that person to believe the actual Word from God because he knows only part of what he said is actually the Word from God.   We must be very careful in handling the Word of God.   If we have the Word of God in writing, we must return to that which God said and be certain of that which God actually said, and we must look at the Word many times.

For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.   16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.   17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)   18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.   19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

(This podcast was previously published on August 3, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Joshua 1   8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.   God says:   9 Have not I commanded thee?   (Did God tell you to do this thing?  That's all that matters.)   Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.   Other verses in Joshua 1:   (Which I have found valid today.)   5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.   6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.   7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses MY servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.   We overcome all people and all things through that Word which God gives us concerning the issue of this life.
