Building your house on the word from God

(This podcast was previously published on, October 30, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   In the days of the Old Testament, for a season, God raised up HIS judges and gave the judges HIS Spirit to lead the children of Israel.   Later the people demanded a king like the other nations had to rule over them.   But for a period of time God appointed judges.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 29, 2021)    Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    Please read these written scriptures before you hear this podcast for these scriptures set the foundation for the recording on this podcast.   God led the children of Israel for 40 years through the wilderness.  God provided all their needs.  There was no lack.   Exodus 15:13   Thou in THY mercy hast led forth the people which THOU hast redeemed: THOU hast guided them in THY strength unto THY holy habitation.   17 THOU shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of THINE inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which THOU hast made for THEE to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which THY hands have established.   Psalm 78   7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep HIS commandments:   14 In the daytime also HE led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.   15 HE clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.   16 HE brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.   20 Behold, HE smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can HE give bread also? can HE provide flesh for HIS people?   23 Though HE had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,   24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.   25 Man did eat angels' food: HE sent them meat to the full.   26 HE caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by HIS power HE brought in the south wind.   27 HE rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:   28 And HE let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.   29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for HE gave them their own desire;   30 They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,   31 The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.   32 For all this they sinned still, and believed not for HIS wondrous works.   33 Therefore their days did HE consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.   40 How oft did they provoke HIM in the wilderness, and grieve HIM in the desert!   41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.   51 And (God) smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:   52 But made HIS own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.   53 And HE led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.   54 And HE brought them to the border of HIS sanctuary, even to this mountain, which HIS right hand had purchased.   55 HE cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.   56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not HIS testimonies:   57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.   58 For they provoked HIM to anger with their high places, and moved HIM to jealousy with their graven images.   59 When God heard this, HE was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:   60 So that HE forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which HE placed among men;   61 And delivered HIS strength into captivity, and HIS glory into the enemy's hand.   62 HE gave HIS people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with HIS inheritance.   63 The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.   64 Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.   65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.   66 And HE smote HIS enemies in the hinder parts: HE put them to a perpetual reproach.   72 So HE fed them according to the integrity of HIS heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of HIS hands.   Psalm 105:37  HE brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.   God brought more than 600,000 men plus women and children out of Egypt and provided for their needs during the 40-years that HE led them through the wilderness.   They lacked nothing!

(This podcast was previously published on, October 27, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Judges 3   5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:   6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.   7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.   8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and HE sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 27, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Genesis 6:5   And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.   The minute man touches something, he pollutes it with his own flesh.   Therefore in the Old Testament, God would not allow them to bring "hewn" stones into the tabernacle.   Exodus 20:26   God says:  And if thou wilt make ME an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

(This podcast was previously published on, October 25, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   The children of Israel passed over river Jordan and fought the nations and took the land which God had promised to Abraham 400-years earlier.   Joshua grew old and died after he had divided the land and had given that land to the 12 tribes of the children of Israel.   The people began living on their inheritance.   But when they failed to drive out the nations around them, they began to take on the gods of those nations and sinned against God.   God sent HIS angel to them to deliver the following message.   Judges 2   1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break MY covenant with you.   2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed MY voice: why have ye done this?   3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.   4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 24, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Naomi was the wife of Elimelech a man of the tribe of Ephraim, the son of Joseph.   When a famine hit the land, he took his family to the land of Moab where he and his two sons died.  The wives of the sons were Moabites.  One was named Ruth.   After the famine, Naomi decided to return to her people in Judah, so she sent her two daughters-in-law back to their families.  Oprah returned to her mother and father.  But Ruth continued to follow Naomi.   Naomi said to Ruth:   Ruth 1:15  Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.   But Ruth refused to leave her mother-in-law and she made this outstanding declaration to Naomi:   Ruth 1:16-17   Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:   17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.   So Naomi allowed Ruth to go with her into Judah.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 23, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Joshua 21   43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which HE sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.   44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that HE sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.   45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 21, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Being overcome by this world is a terrible thing.  It should not happen since God is our Father and is leading and guiding us.  God is greater than all and we are HIS children.   Revelation 3:5  Jesus says:  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before HIS angels.   I John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world.   James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.   John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.   John 16:13   Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.   14  He shall glorify ME: for he shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.   God always has a way for us to overcome.   Pray and wait for God's answer.  Then do that which you believe God has said to you.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 19, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   The word "race" is not in the Bible.  Nor is the word "racism" in the Bible.   I asked God about this and I heard:  "Jews and Gentiles"   (And we know from the Bible that the Jews, the children of Israel, were the chosen people of God, but God made a way for the Gentiles to come to God through faith.)   Racism is basically hatred of individuals who are of other races.   We who are of God are one with all individuals who have the Spirit of God.  Race is not a factor for us.  Being born again by God by HIS Spirit is that which makes us Christians.  And we follow HIS Spirit producing the fruits of the Spirit by doing that which the Holy Spirit shows us to do.  And one of the fruits produced by the Spirit of God is love which is opposite to hatred.  It is not that we try to love.  We love because we are of God and God has given us HIS Spirit and another heart which causes us to love in situations where once we hated.   People who are not of God follow the feelings produced by their own flesh, by the nature of man.   Galatians 5   16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.   19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,   20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,   21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.   22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,   23 Meekness, temperance:  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 20, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Joshua 14   (Caleb speaking to Joshua)   5 As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.   6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.   7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.   8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.   9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.   Numbers 13   17 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:   18 And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;   19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;   20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.   21 So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.   22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)   23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.   24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.   25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.   26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.   27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.   28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.   29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.   30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.   31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.   32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.   33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.   All those men who brought the evil report died in the wilderness by the commandment of the Lord, but Joshua and Caleb are still alive and move into the land which is promised by God, and Caleb wants more land and declares to Joshua that God has kept him strong and he is well able though he is now 85.   Joshua 14  (Caleb says)   10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as HE said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.  (85-years-old)   11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.   12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.   (All that matters to us is God being with us.  Paul says:  "If God be for us, who can be against us?"  Romans 8:31)   13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.   14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 18, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   When we are watching TV or a person brings to us a concept which conflicts with what we know to be in the Bible, we should reinforce the Bible in our heart and mind by returning to the subject and reading again what the Bible says.   The apostle Paul reminds to build ourselves up in the ways of God as follows:   Romans 12:2   And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.   As Christians, we continually review that which God has said concerning various subjects and we conform our thoughts to the will of God by the Holy Bible.   It is important to review the scriptures often on the "spotlight" subjects, which have come into our view as the world speaks, so we will not be conformed to the thinking of this world.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 17, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God sees the heart.  God knows exactly what the person is doing.  God certainly sees things about the human that we do not see.   Most humans try to look "good" to others.  So by their outward appearance and even the things they say in public, they try to present themselves as being "good" people.   God knows what they really are and sometimes God will "turn them over to a reprobate mind to do those things that are not convenient."  (Romans 1:28)   God knows that which is really in the heart of the individual and God knows that which the person is doing in private.   Romans 1   21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified HIM not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.   22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,   23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.   24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:   25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.   26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:   27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.   28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 16, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Before the armies of the children of Israel went into Jericho to possess the land given them by God, Joshua gave specific instruction from God as follows:   Joshua 6:18  And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.   40,000 men went to battle at Jericho and God gave them a great victory.   Next they were to take the city of Ai.   Joshua 7   1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.   2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.   3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.   (They didn't know that God would not be with them because of the trespass of Achan at Jericho.)   4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.   5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.   6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.   7 And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!   8 O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!   (This is terrible when we fail to overcome.)   9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto THY great name?   It would be a terrible thing to be defeated by the enemies of God.   This would shame God HIMSELF.   Jesus said:   Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.   Paul said:   Romans 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us.   John said:   I John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world.   It is unthinkable to be defeated by the unbelievers or by problems that surface in this present life when God is in us!   Paul says:   Philippians 4:13   I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.   God makes a way for us in that which HE has called us to do on this earth.   I can't picture anything other than victory through God in all things.  So we seek God and wait for HIS way and then we go in HIS way in the issues of this life.

Thus shalt thou do six days.   4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.   5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.   6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.   7 And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.   8 And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.   9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.   10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.   11 So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.   12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.   13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.   14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.   15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.   16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.   17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.   18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.   19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.   20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.   21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.   22 But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.   23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.   24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.   25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.   26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.   27 So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.   2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.   3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.   4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:   5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.   6 But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.   7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.   8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;   9 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.   10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.   11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, HE is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.   (We see how Rahab confessed God and believed in God.)   12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:   13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.   14 And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.   15 Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.   16 And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.   17 And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.   18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.   19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.   (This is like the Passover in Egypt for all who stayed in their houses under the blood which was on the doors were saved from the angel who destroyed the first born of Egypt.  But God told them not to go out of their house that night.)   20 And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.   21 And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.   Rehab believe in the God of the children of Israel and she did that Word given to her by which she and her whole household were saved by God as a result.

And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.   7 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.   8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.   9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.   As God spoke to Moses and Moses commanded the people according to the Word Moses heard from God, now Joshua does the same thing.  The people hear from God through Joshua.   10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that HE will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.   11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.   12 Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.   13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.   15 And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)   16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.   17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

(This podcast was previously published on, October 8, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   When we understand God choose us and saved us without our being worthy of salvation, we are grateful to God.   But many church goers are not born again and they put themselves into the church group "by their own will."  When that happens they think by their own will power they chose God and they reason since they chose God other people can do the same.  They don't realize they are not of God but their own salvation is of themselves.   Jude vv. 17-19   But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;  How that they told you there should be mockers (copiers) in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.   These church goers are often hard, ridged, even mean toward those who are not church goers.   They lack charity.   Charity is born of our knowing that we didn't deserve salvation and that it was just by the will of God that we are born of HIS Spirit and are HIS children.   I Corinthians 13   1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.   2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.   3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.   4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,   5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;   6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;   7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.   8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.   9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.   10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.   11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.   12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.   13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 7, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    After God reveals HIMSELF to us, we are born again and changed into a new creation.  God gives us another spirit to live in us.  We now have the Holy Spirit who leads us in the way of God as we live on this earth.   Usually we then want to read the Bible.  We want to be with other people of God.  We want to learn things of God.  We want to talk about God. We are very different than we were before God revealed HIMSELF to us.   II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.   Ephesians 1:12-13  That we should be to the praise of HIS glory, who first trusted in Christ.   In WHOM ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in WHOM also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,   14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of HIS glory.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 6, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   In Romans 7, Paul presents several questions concerning what to do about the flesh which would take us in ways opposite to the Spirit of God.   Paul says:   Romans 7   14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.   15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.   16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.   17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.   18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.   19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.   20  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.   21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.   22  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:   23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.   24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?   25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 5, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    In the Old Testament, God chose the nation of Israel to be HIS people and the people vowed that it was true that the Lord was their God.    Here are some interesting declarations:   Deuteronomy 26   17 Thou hast avouched (affirmed/declared as true) the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in HIS ways, and to keep HIS statutes, and HIS commandments, and HIS judgments, and to hearken unto HIS voice:   18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be HIS peculiar people, as HE hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all His commandments;   19 And to make thee high above all nations which HE hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as HE hath spoken.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 4, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   When we belong to God, HE is with us wherever we go.   We have the great advantage that by HIS Spirit God teaches us all things and guides us into all truth and even shows us things to come.  (John 14:26 & John 16:13)   The apostle Paul says:   Romans 8:31  If God be for us, who can be against us?   Another promise:   Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 3, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God made promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob concerning the land which HE would give to the children of Israel for their inheritance.   God also set forth for HIS people "rules of war".   Deuteronomy 20  God says   1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.   In the New Testament:   II Corinthians 10   3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:   4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)   5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;   In the New Testament church our war is a battle of our mind where we have a goal of living in peace but thoughts come to trouble us and we have to make those thoughts conform to that which God has spoken to us by HIS Word.   Troublesome thoughts come by our own flesh and through devils who bring ideas to our mind to cause harm.   But in the case of the wars of the Old Testament compared with the wars we go though today as the New Testament church, one thing is the same:  God is always with us to lead us and guide us and we overcome through what God shows us about the battle at hand.   Deuteronomy 20:4  For the LORD your God is HE that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.  

(This podcast was previously published on, October 2, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   David was a man after God's own heart.  (Acts 13:22)   God took the Spirit from Saul who was king and gave HIS Spirit to David and God had the prophet Samuel to anoint David as king and God removed Saul from being king.   At one point, David greatly sinned, and David prayed:   Psalm 51   2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.   3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.   4 Against THEE, THEE only, have I sinned, and done this evil in THY sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.   5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.   6 Behold, THOU desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part THOU shalt make me to know wisdom.   7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.   8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which THOU hast broken may rejoice.   9 Hide THY face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.   10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.   11 Cast me not away from THY presence; and take not THY Holy Spirit from me.   12 Restore unto me the joy of THY salvation; and uphold me with THY free spirit.

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,   10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.   11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.   Romans 6   3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into HIS death?   4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.   5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection:   6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.   7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.   8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:   Even on this earth today, we live with Christ as we follow the Holy Spirit of God, keeping our flesh crucified, not allowing our flesh to do what it wants to do but causing our flesh to be dead by following that which the Holy Spirit of God brings to our mind in the specific situations of this life.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 28, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Deuteronomy 14:2  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto HIMSELF, above all the nations that are upon the earth.   The children of Israel were chosen by God to be HIS people in the Old Testament.   Noah found grace in the sight of God and God saved Noah from the great flood.   Abraham was chosen by God and was given promises concerning the nations that were to come from him.   Genesis 12:1-4  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.   4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him;   And God gave promises to both Isaac and Jacob, Abraham's son and grandson.   God spoke to them also and made HIMSELF known.   To Isaac, God said:  Go not down into Egypt; dwell into the land which I shall tell thee of:  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;  And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed MY voice, and kept MY charge, MY commandments, MY statutes, and MY laws.  (Genesis 26:2-5)   God revealed HIMSELF to Jacob:  And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.   And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.   And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.  And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.  (Genesis 28:10-15)   Later Jacob was renamed by God as Israel.  HIS 12 sons were the children of Israel, the 12 tribes of Israel.   To Joseph, one of the 12 sons, God revealed HIMSELF by dreams.  His brothers hated Joseph because the dreams showed Joseph ruling over them.  So they sold Joseph into bondage and Joseph was taken down into Egypt before the great famine came on the earth.  God gave wisdom to Joseph and therefore all that Joseph did prospered above all men.  Pharaoh saw this and made Joseph a ruler in Egypt, second only to himself.   70 men were the number of the children of Israel who went down into Egypt at the time of the great famine.   The generations of the children of Israel spent 430 years in Egypt and when they were delivered from Egypt by God, their number of men above the age of 20 was 603,550. (Exodus 38:26)   Even under the years of adversity in Egypt, God multiplied them greatly as God said he would do in HIS promises to Abraham.   In all this we see when God reveals HIMSELF to an individual, God becomes their God.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 27, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   I never ask anyone, "Where do you go to church?"   We "are" the church.   In the Old Testament, God said:   Deuteronomy 12:30   Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.   The teacher of our Bible class once said:  "Never look into other religions or read about them.  Just study the Bible and when a wrong doctrine comes along, you will recognize it as being wrong when you know the real thing from the Bible."  I really believe that is the correct approach and that is what I have done for the past 40+ years.  I just keep reading the Bible.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 26, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Deuteronomy 12:5  But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put HIS name there, even unto HIS habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:   In the New Testament church today, God chooses where HE will put HIS name.   Acts 2:47   And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.   God opens the eyes of those persons whom HE has chosen and gives those individuals understanding causing them to be born again as a new creature, a Christian.   We recognize them by the Spirit of God which is in them for we have that same Spirit in us.   Acts 13:48  And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.   Salvation is of God, of the will of God.   When God chooses that individual for salvation, God opens that person's eyes and all of a sudden he sees the truth of God.   It is all of God by the will of God.   There can be a group of people sitting together and all of a sudden one in the group sees.   That is the way it was with Paul on the road to Damascus.  There were other men traveling in the group with Paul.  But it was Paul's life that was changed forever when Jesus spoke from heaven.  Though all the men saw light around them and all the men heard a voice from heaven, it was Paul who was called by Jesus and changed forever.  Jesus even said:  "Saul, Saul" ... calling him by name.   Acts 9   1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,   2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.   3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:   4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME?   5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.   6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? (Instantly changed.)   And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.   7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.   We see an instant change in Paul.  Paul was enroute to Damascus to try to find Christians so he could bind them and carry them to prison.  But when the voice from heaven spoke, Paul was changed immediately from that person that he was before hearing that voice.   There was no learning involved.  It was instant change.  Paul was born again.   II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 25, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Peter walked on water at the Word of Jesus ... but then when Peter looked at the circumstances, faith failed Peter, but Jesus saved Peter.   Matthew 14   22 And straightway Jesus constrained HIS disciples to get into a ship, and to go before HIM unto the other side, while HE sent the multitudes away.   23 And when HE had sent the multitudes away, HE went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, HE was there alone.   24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.   25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.   26 And when the disciples saw HIM walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.   27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.   28 And Peter answered HIM and said, Lord, if it be THOU, bid me come unto THEE on the water.   29 And HE said, Come.   And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.   30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.   31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth HIS hand, and caught HIM, and said unto HIM, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

(This podcast was previously published on September 22, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God speaks to Moses:   Exodus 33   14 And HE (God) said, MY presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.   15 And he (Moses) said unto HIM (God), If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.   16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and THY people have found grace in THY sight? is it not in that THOU goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and THY people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.   It is impossible for light and darkness to co-exist in the same room.   When the Word comes to us, we become light.  That Word separates us from the darkness.   Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(This podcast was previously published on September 16, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God called Moses to come up to HIM and Moses was with God 40 days in the mountain, and God gave Moses commandments for the children of Israel.   All his life, God prepared for Moses to lead HIS people.  The call of God was on Moses even from his youth.  God arranged for Moses to be taken into Pharaoh's  daughter's house as a baby where he was "learned in all the ways of the Egyptians" and he was in a very high position in Egypt.   We read the following about Moses:   Acts 7   20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:   21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.   22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.   23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.   24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:   25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.   (We see that Moses knew even then that he would be used by God to deliver the children of Israel.)   26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?   27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?   (In fact, God had made Moses to be a ruler and judge over the people of Israel and that would happen 40-years later when the time was right.)   28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?   29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.   When God revealed HIMSELF to Moses when Moses was 80-years-old in the land of Midian and called Moses and charged Moses to go back to Egypt where he would deliver the children of Israel, we see the following:   Exodus 3:10-11  God said to Moses:  Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth MY people the children of Israel out of Egypt.   11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?   But 40 years earlier when Moses killed the Egyptian and freed the man of Israel, Moses knew he would be used by God to deliver the Israelites from Egypt.   In God's time, this would happen.  Moses was called by God, appointed for a work of God, and trained by God for this work.  It was not of Moses but of God.

(This podcast was previously published on September 14, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Exodus 19   1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.   2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.   3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;   4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto Myself.   (It is good for each of us to think on those things which God has done in our lives.)   5 Now therefore, if ye will obey MY voice indeed, and keep MY covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto ME above all people: for all the earth is Mine:   6 And ye shall be unto ME a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.   These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 13, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   The Old Testament and the children of God:   Moses selected men from the tribes of Israel and they assisted him in judging the people.  There were 600,000 men (plus women and children) in the wilderness so it became too much for Moses to do all the work alone.   Moses' father-in-law suggested another plan for Moses in dealing with the people.   Exodus 18   8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.   9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom HE had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.   10 And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, WHO hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.   11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly HE (God) was above them.   12 And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 12, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    These Old Testament examples teach us to follow God.  They allow us to see the work of God on behalf of HIS children.  And these examples show us God is always giving information in the problems of life to HIS children.   I find these examples to be strengthening and faith building.   The children of Israel had to fight in many battles, and so do we today.  For to enter in to that land promised by God, we will have many who stand up against us, even people in our own church groups.   But we will learn that the Word from God is all that matters.   Proverbs 21:30-31  There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.   All that matters is, "Did God tell me to do this thing?"  

(This podcast was previously published on September 11, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Exodus 16   1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.   2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:   (murmured:  complained against)   3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.   4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in MY law, or no.   5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.   (They were not permitted to gather food on the Sabbath nor do any work at all in cooking food on the Sabbath, not even to light a fire for cooking in their tents on the Sabbath.  So they had to gather food the day before the Sabbath and cook food the day before the Sabbath.)   6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:   7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that HE (God) heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?   (When I start to complain about something, I am often reminded that God hears this and I often stop myself from complaining about the situation and start praying instead.)   8 And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against HIM: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.   9 And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for HE hath heard your murmurings.   10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 10, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   From the beginning of my being born again and changed into a new creature by God, HE showed me that no man would stand before me all the days of my life.  I would overcome all through HIM and through turning to HIM and by doing that which HE said.   I lived in Lubbock, Texas, in a house owned by Jesus Ministries.  It was tax exempt.   When I left Lubbock, and put the house up for sale, the Lubbock tax assessor put the house into a taxable status, removing us from tax exempt status on the house that was for sale.   But the house was still owned by our ministry group which was declared non-profit by the USA government and the State of Texas, yet the city of Lubbock tried to change our status.   They wanted us to prove to them that we were tax-exempt even though they had the papers saying we were tax-exempt from both the USA government and the State of Texas.   They were trying to charge us $10,000 per year property taxes while the house was for sale.   We could not pay such as a non-profit tax exempt ministry.   I was furious with the tax assessor.   God calmed me down that night, and when I awoke the next morning, I knew exactly what to do.  I believe God planted this in my heart that night.   I sent the following to the tax assessor of Lubbock, Texas.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 9, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Without problems, would we see the victories of God?   The children of Israel greatly rejoiced when God brought them through the Red Sea and when God drowned Pharaoh and his men in the Red Sea.   Exodus 15   1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for HE hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath HE thrown into the sea.   2 The LORD is my strength and song, and HE is become my salvation: HE is my God, and I will prepare HIM an habitation (making myself ready for God to live in me); MY father's God, and I will exalt HIM.   3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is HIS name.  

(This podcast was previously published on September 8, 2021)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   God set everything perfectly for the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt.   (600,000 men plus women and children)   God is going to lead them to the point where their back is to the Red Sea.  Then Pharaoh starts chasing them with his 600 chariots and there is no where for them to go to escape Pharaoh because the Red Sea is to their back!   God will use the Red Sea to destroy Pharaoh and his men and to save the nation of Israel.
