Entrevista com Pastaio Marcio Shihomatsu, aficionado pela culinária italiana, teve início na sua vida profissional na contramão da gastronomia e formou-se em administração de empresas. Egresso do mercado financeiro, resolveu investir em sua paixão, as pastas frescas e estudou culinária no George Brown College quando se tornou sócio do Jojo Ramen. Passou uma temporada de cinco anos em Toronto, no Canadá e teve experiências em restaurantes com estreita ligação com a cozinha italiana e produção de pastas como o Oretta, Nota Bene, Tutti Matti, entre outros, trabalhando como cozinheiro ou masseiro. Em 2015 a semente do Pasta Shihoma já estava sendo plantada, quando decidiu produzir pasta fresca e embarcou para a Itália para uma imersão no tema. Tutti Matti, is a historic Toronto establishment and is one of Toronto's most notable and successful restaurants. Helmed by Alida Solomon, Tutti Matti offers simple yet delicious Tuscan cuisine and is the recipient of a plethora of awards, like 2009's Osteria of the Year. Alida herself has had a storied career. Growing up in an eclectic Jewish family, she developed a passion for food and culture, developing her culinary sea legs out in Montalcino, Italy, such as learning how butcher wild boar. After coming back home and starting Tutti Matti, while picking up some accolades along the way, you can now can now catch her as the face of Hunt's Tomatoes or on Food Network Canada. Melissa Muldoon is the author of three novels set in Italy: “Dreaming Sophia,” “Waking Isabella,” and “Eternally Artemisia.” All three books tell the stories of American women and their journeys of self-discovery to find love, uncover hidden truths, and follow their destinies to shape a better future in Italy. Melissa is also the author of the Studentessa Matta website, where she promotes the study of Italian language and culture through her dual-language blog written in Italian and English (studentessamatta.com). Chef Alida Solomon owns a busy Italian restaurant in downtown Toronto. Its name, Tutti Matti, means "everybody's crazy" and she admits she must be to have chosen this adrenaline-charged career.

  Ciao a tutti gli ascoltatori! Now that I have ventured into the realm of podcasting, I had this really cool idea: Wouldn’t it be great to have my own “Matta” theme song or "una colonna sonora" for the “Tutti Matti per l’Italiano” podcast! In this podcast I speak in Italian and describe the process of how I found a musician and created a song that would musically refect the objectives and the upbeat nature of the Studentessa Matta blog.   I have just returned from a fantastic trip in Italy and just can’t seem to stop talking or writing about it.
