A violent war for control of illicit drugs and weapons leaves a deadly trail of bullets and blood across highways in the U.S. Southwest. It started eight years ago in a hail of gunfire between the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang and the Cossacks at the Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco, Texas. The violence escalated starting in May of 2023 leaving dead bodies on an interstate highway in Texas, at a biker bar in Oklahoma City, and at a once peaceful bike rally in New Mexico. There's no sign of tempers and the rivalry cooling off anytime soon. The Bandidos stand to lose a lot and they are fighting to hold on to their turf. They are not Hollywood's romanticized version of the Sons of Anarchy. The Justice Department considers the Bandidos one of the eight most dangerous motorcycle gangs in the U.S. A gang threat assessment by the Texas Department of Public Safety ranked the Bandidos as a "Tier 2" gang — or the second-most dangerous classification — alongside the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas. It appears that local law enforcement is not prepared to intervene and in some quarters may even fear the Bandidos. According to the Bandidos legend, a 36-year-old Vietnam War veteran and Houston dockworker started the club in the 1960s.  It adopted the red and gold colors of the U.S. Marine Corps. They proudly wear the "patch" on their jackets and other apparel. Mess with one Bandido and you are in effect messing with all of them. We are all getting used to the new web interface (and seeing each other's faces too). Bob and Zip start the show live from the big island of Hawaii and Worcester, MA. Ed Kelly and Spike O'Neill soon join in from Detroit and Seattle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJeVBWfuFvk Ed Kelly is making a killing this Holiday Season, in costume. But he's no mall Santa- He's the Grinch! It's a serious costume (like being an alien in a Star Wars movie). Yes, there is an active volcano erupting, and it's not far from Bob… he can see it on his way to Starbucks. But there are bigger ash holes on television news, and Bob found himself sucked into live coverage of the Georgia Senate runoff. We start to talk about the “Fake” drama we're subjected to in media land, where everything is an emergency and the population is divided just about neatly 50-50. Could it be that we're being manipulated? Spike is having none of it, his side is right, and the other side is immoral. Remember when you cut the cord, to stop seeing commercials and pay for just the TV channels you needed? Well, the more things change, the more they end up exactly the same. Now most premium streamers are running commercials, with tiered pricing… and they are “bundling”. So it's going to end up like having 4 cable subscriptions! Bob has been watching Fox News and using Twitter, something no one else on the show will do, since they all love their echo chambers. Guess who he's following? The preceding paragraph has been a blatant example of “trolling”. Andrew Rivers hops on to visit with his very long hair. Dad tries to bait him with how tough it is to be a white male in comedy. Andrew artfully dodges that land mine. His revenge is when he explains to his Dad that the “Twin Peaks” Restaurant that he and Mom wandered into in Nevada has nothing to do with the ancient TV show shot in North Bend, WA. We close the podcast with a very tacky Twisted Tune about a restaurant similar to Twin Peaks. Official website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-Many of you requested we do a follow-up podcast episode on the violent criminal biker gang shooting that occurred in Waco, Texas at the Twin Peaks Restaurant on Sunday, May 17, 2015 that left nine bikers dead and many others hospitalized. We listened and go in depth in this two-part podcast series. Don't forget to listen to podcast episode #78 & read the article we released shortly after the incident. It has been about one year now since these violent acts took place between the Bandidos Motorcycle Club and the Cossacks Motorcycle Club. These motorcycle clubs are designated as outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMG's). The Bandidos claim 1%er, but the Cossacks do not. The clubs were both present at the Twin Peaks Restaurant to attend a Confederation of Clubs (COC) meeting. The Bandidos control the Texas COC and want the Cossacks to pay them dues. The Cossacks refused to pay the COC dues and also decided to start wearing a "Texas" bottom rocker on the back of their vests, against the advice of the Bandidos. The Bandidos MC believes only they have the right to wear that Texas rocker. There had been many documented violent feuds between the clubs leading up to this shootout. The Cossacks claim they were at the COC meeting to ask for a truce. 154 out of the 174 bikers arrested that day have been indicted for engaging in organized criminal activity. Most are out on bail and it will be some time before many ever see a court room. It is a large-scale investigation that is ongoing. Over 1000 weapons were recovered throughout the crime scene. Guns, knives, brass knuckles, hammers, tomahawks, machetes, bullet proof vests, and even an AK-47 assault rifle were recovered. These criminals hid guns in bags of potato chips, between bags of flower, and tried to stuff them down toilets. In the words of Sgt. Swanton of the Waco, Texas Police Department, "They were not here to eat barbecue and drink beer".  I agree with his thoughts that these criminal biker gangs were there for trouble. It is clearly demonstrated by the amount of weaponry recovered and the way they were hidden. This kind of evidence shows these clubs true intentions. Shortly after the Waco incident, Bandidos National President Jeff Pike and several other top Bandidos leaders were arrested and federally indicted. Not for the Twin Peaks incident, but for a federal investigation that was already ongoing. The indictments were for assault, murder, and extortion. Pike stepped down as the President and is out on bond awaiting trial. The police did everything they could to warn Twin Peaks management of the dangers of holding more biker events, due to the mounting violence between clubs. But, they disregarded warnings and went on as usual. One former Twin Peaks waitress has spoken out and witnessed Police telling management of the dangers. Police had no authority to shut the Twin Peaks down and had to standby with forces outside the event. Their hands were tied and their fears came true. These criminal bikers even opened fire at the police during the shootout and it should be no surprise that several criminal bikers were likely shot & killed by police. However, the ballistic reports have not yet been released.  In fact, Bandido MC member Jake Carrizal has publicly stated on a CNN special that it appears police shot a man that was clearly going to shoot him. Carrizal is likely alive, because of police protection and their swift action. A simple thank you to the police would be nice for saving his life.  We will have to wait for ballistic reports to confirm this.  Carrizal was directly involved in the start of this brawl and can be seen on video surveillance. Former Bandidos National President Jeff Pike is ignorant enough to say that all would have been fine had one uniformed police officer been inside the restaurant walking around. These criminal bikers knew SWAT and police were all around the restaurant and still opened fire on each other. Clearly a uniformed officer would have stopped nothing and put that officer in great danger. The juvenile thinking of these criminal bikers speaks volumes. Of course, there are those bikers arrested complaining. Many complain and shift blame as usual. Honestly, I don't know the merits of each case nor the details of each, nor does anyone else except those involved with the actual investigation. I will say that if you are going be a criminal biker, attend events with rival 1%er clubs clearly present, involve yourself with the COC, or just hang with known criminal bikers then you are putting yourself at risk of being in the middle of fights & the possibility of being criminally investigated. Sometimes common sense needs to be used. This is just the start and you'll have to listen in to this two part podcast series to get all the facts and details. In this podcast episode, we reference a CNN special titled "Biker Brawl: Inside The Texas Shootout".

Official Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-The opening song, "Biker Campfire" by Steve Werner (iTunes Link), is the way bikers are supposed to treat each other. We here at Law Abiding Biker consider other bikers friends we have not yet met. It’s as simple as that wave you extend when you pass another biker on the road. Let’s all practice that kindness and acceptance and continue the Law Abiding Biker Revolution. We are the motorcycling majority and are in charge of the true motorcycle scene. Tragically, sometimes bikers forget why they started riding motorcycles in the first place and get caught up in a dead end criminal lifestyle. Our respects go to anyone that lost their lives in the Waco, TX Biker Shootings on Sunday May 17, 2015 and to their families. We do not have all the facts and of course we consider the 9 deaths tragic. By talking about what things are known on this Podcast, in no way do we promote or celebrate any deaths that occurred. Additionally, in no way by airing this episode do we condone any criminal behavior by any criminal motorcycle gangs. Motorcycle club names are only mentioned to properly depict the scene & events that are known. By discussing this incident we hope bikers can learn or take away something valuable. Many news organizations have reported on the incident, but few have any insight into this subculture like we do. The traditional media has reported many absurd things that we hope to correct. We are here to bring to light the facts and the truths, however limited they may be at this time. Article: On Sunday May 17, 2015 at about 12:15 pm a criminal biker gang shooting at the Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco, Texas left at least nine people dead, 18 hospitalized and at least 170 were arrested and charged. Exact details are lacking and a large scale police investigation into the incident is being conducted. We are reporting on information coming in from various sources. Remember that 99% of all bikers/motorcyclists are good hardworking people with a passion for riding. The bikers involved here are thugs and make up less than 1% of the motorcycling population out on the road. They call themselves 1%ers and bear patches to identify them as such. Police had been concerned with the bikers' presence at Twin Peaks for several months. The restaurant hosted special events for bikers and unfortunately allowed criminal biker gangs to also attend. The biker gang members who began beating, stabbing and shooting each other knew the police were patrolling outside. "There were at least three rival gang groups here this morning for whatever reason. As they were here, we had officers on scene. We expected issues," said Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton. He later said there were at least five gangs. Swanton expressed anger at Twin Peaks, which he claims had been less than helpful in dealing with gangs in the past. "Are we frustrated? Sure. Because we feel like there may have been more that could have been done by a business to prevent this," he said. The United Clubs of Waco billed Sunday's event as the Texas Region 1 Confederation of Clubs and Independents meeting. The Confederation of Clubs (COC) is not recognized by law abiding bikers, the motorcycling majority, and has no authority of any kind.  Only some criminal biker gangs recognize them as some sort of entity that promotes communication between rival biker gangs. That communication does not work and has never worked and this melee is evidence of such. The COC is about power, money and intimidation just like all criminal biker gangs. Further, there is some ridiculous code that at these sanctioned meets that rival biker gangs are supposed  to put their differences aside for a bit. Criminal bikers can't grow up for a day as seen and it shows the COC is a complete failure. An altercation apparently started in a bathroom. Shots were fired inside the eatery and a brawl spilled onto the patio area, before scores of criminal bikers flooded the parking lot in broad daylight. Some criminal bikers were beaten with brass knuckles, clubs and chains, while others were stabbed or shot, Swanton said. There was clearly no concern for innocent lives and bystanders by these criminal bikers. Police responded within 30 to 45 seconds because of their proximity and the criminal bikers turned their weapons on law enforcement, he said. "Our officers took fire and responded appropriately, returning fire," the sergeant said. Swanton called it "the most violent and gruesome scene that I have dealt with" in three and a half decades of law enforcement. Before the restaurant and surrounding parking lots became a bloody battleground, the Waco Police Department had 18 officers on the scene, including an assistant chief and tactical officers, along with four officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Swanton said. No officers were hurt, Swanton said, praising their response. As police rounded up suspects and paramedics tended to the injured, investigators found eight bodies; three in the parking lot behind Twin Peaks, four near the front of the restaurant and one that had been dragged behind a nearby establishment, Swanton said. More than 100 weapons were confiscated as well, he said. According to a law enforcement source, preliminary information indicates that four of the bikers killed were killed by police gunfire. The investigation continues and the ballistics will be analyzed to determine for certain who was responsible for each shooting. Suspects from five different biker gangs remained locked up in the McLellan County Jail on Monday facing charges of engaging in organized crime, Swanton said. McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said that bond was being set at $1 million for each of the 170 people in custody. Photos from the scene showed bikers wearing the insignias of the Cossacks, Bandidos, and Scimitars among others. It is no secret that these three are all well know organized outlaw criminal motorcycle gangs. The Bandidos and Cossacks have some sort of long ongoing childish dispute going on over who can wear a bottom rocker patch on the back of their vests saying, "Texas".  And the Scimitars are supporters of the Cossacks, because they probably can't make their own decisions. The Cossacks are aligned with the Hell's Angels, who are rivals of the Bandidos. The bottom rocker patch criminal biker gangs wear on the back of their vest claims territory, such as the State of Texas in this case. They believe only one criminal biker gang can wear a specific territorial patch and that the club bearing it owns the illegal drug & gun trade in that geographical area. For another criminal biker gang, such as the Cossacks in this case, to bear the "Texas" bottom rocker patch, they would need permission from the Bandidos. That is just a quick explanation of the sad pitiful world they believe in and in no way am I promoting it. Employees & patrons at Twin Peaks crawled into a freezer and shut the door for safety during the melee. Criminal biker gangs are nothing more than terrorists. There was clearly no concern for innocent lives or bystanders by these criminal bikers as they fired their guns.
