Most of us want the benefits of community — safety, belonging, mutual support — but bristle at the friction that actual community requires. This sermon confronts that tension directly: why do we wait until we're "rich enough" to give, and what does it really cost to be part of something? Pastor Anthony explores an ancient letter where a broke, disaster-stricken community begged to be allowed to give — and what that tells us about generosity as a practice rather than a personality trait. He also takes apart the prosperity gospel, not to dismiss the desire to flourish, but to ask what real prosperity looks like when it doesn't leave anyone on the curb. If you're skeptical of church messaging around money, or just tired of feeling like generosity is for people with more to spare, this conversation offers a different frame.

Many of us lack meaningful community in our lives, either from a complete absence of relationships or simply the sense of disconnection from those around us. In response, a growing number of people attempt to cultivate community based on shared values and interests, which inadvertently reproduces the very labeling that keeps real connection forming. The systemic forces that created this separation are real, but what if the deeper problem is that most of us have never actually learned how to commune with each other in the first place? In this episode, Nate is joined by Nora Bateson, creator of Warm Data Labs, alongside her colleagues Jonathan Goldsmith and Lucas Jackson, for a rich conversation about what it actually takes to build community and why so many of our attempts fail. Drawing on Nora's concept of "communing" as the necessary precursor to community, the group explores how genuine human connection is being undermined by algorithmic fragmentation, scripted discourse, and cultures rooted in transaction and individualism. Rather than offering a formula for community-building, they make the case for something older: practices of mutual learning, radical hospitality, and a way of relating to others that breaks us out of the confines of our perceived roles. Together, they argue that the first step to being part of community is letting go of preconceived notions of what you are owed from the people around you, instead taking the first leap of giving more of oneself, and subsequently setting in motion the cycles of trust and generosity that keep a system alive. What fundamental pieces get lost when communities skip directly to organizing, logistics, and shared objectives? Why do the dark triad traits find less hold in spaces built around curiosity and mutual learning? And how does the act of generosity shift when it comes from a sense of shared aliveness and the knowledge that tending to the broader whole is how we must also tend to ourselves? About Nora Bateson Nora Bateson is a filmmaker, writer, researcher, and educator, and the founder and president of the International Bateson Institute. Her work focuses on the study of complex living systems and the development of "Warm Data" – a methodology for understanding the relational and contextual dimensions of systemic health. She is the author of Small Arcs of Larger Circles, and the creator of the acclaimed documentary An Ecology of Mind, a portrait of her father, systems thinker Gregory Bateson. Nora's work spans education, ecology, health, organizational change, and community, with the unifying thread of asking how we perceive and tend to the complexity of life together. About Jonathan Goldsmith Jonathan Goldsmith is a therapist, facilitator, and educator working at the intersection of systems thinking, relational practice, and community wellbeing. As a core member of the International Bateson Institute team, Jonathan brings the lens of mutual learning and ecological awareness to his work with individuals, groups, and organizations. He is a trained Warm Data host and has facilitated labs internationally. About Lucas Jackson Lucas Jackson is an educator, facilitator, and Warm Data host based in Vermont. He found his way to the International Bateson Institute through the Warm Data host training in 2020, and has since woven the practice of Warm Data into his teaching, community work, and relational life. His work centers on learning, perception, and the conditions that allow people to genuinely encounter one another. Everyone wants the Dubai photo. Almost nobody wants the years of unglamorous work that are supposed to come first.Austin Okolo started in football, moved into fashion, then fell into building the Gen Z Club, partly by accident and partly by luck. These days he runs a recruitment agency focused on upskilling young, diverse talent, having walked away from the fast, "sexy" business models for something slower, more predictable, and actually built to last.We get into why so many young people feel pushed into entrepreneurship rather than choosing it, why the "Gen Z is lazy" line falls apart the second you meet the people doing the work, and why the course-seller industry keeps selling an easy version of a hard thing. Austin is honest about losing money to a pyramid scheme at eighteen, about being miserable despite the success, and about the danger of high conviction when nobody around you is willing to say no.This one is for anyone who is tired of the highlight reel and wants the real version.

For many years, technology projects were relatively predictable. A new system was implemented, a process was automated, or an application was modernized. The challenges were technical, but the path was usually clear. Then Generative AI arrived. I still remember some of the early conversations with technology leaders. Almost every discussion had the same underlying question: "How quickly can we adopt AI?" Yet very few people were asking a more important question: "Why are we adopting AI?" Throughout my career in enterprise technology, ERP, cloud, and AI transformation, I've seen organizations succeed when they focus on solving real business problems. I've also seen companies chase trends because everyone else was doing it. Today's conversation reminded me that technology leadership is no longer about buying the latest tool. It's about balancing innovation, security, business value, and human judgment. As AI becomes part of every organization, the challenge is not whether to adopt it. The challenge is adopting it thoughtfully. In this episode we talk about how someone becomes a professional dominatrix, what actually happens inside a BDSM dungeon, and why kink spaces are often far more structured, communicative, and consent-focused than most people expect. Before the success, before the tours, and before the platform, Melissa was the one carrying the financial weight of their household while Kev pursued stand-up comedy full time. She talks honestly about what it felt like to be the responsible one, why she chose not to weaponize money in their relationship, and how they built trust without keeping score. Together, they unpack the mindset that has shaped their marriage for years: if one person fails, both people fail. If one person wins, both people win. We also talk about resentment in long-term relationships, navigating major life transitions like perimenopause, giving your partner room to evolve, and why some of the choices that strengthened their marriage would look completely irrational to other couples. This episode challenges modern ideas around independence, partnership, sacrifice, gender roles, and what it actually means to build a life with someone instead of simply alongside them. If you've ever wondered what real partnership looks like behind the scenes, or questioned whether you'd actually be willing to make the sacrifices required for the kind of love you admire, this conversation is for you. 99% chance of NO Fed rate cut?In today's video, we break down why the Federal Reserve may not be ready to cut interest rates — even though homebuyers, homeowners, and the housing market are all waiting for relief. The big issue: the economy is still too strong, inflation is still too sticky, and the Fed does not want to cut too early and risk reigniting inflation. That matters because the Fed does NOT directly set mortgage rates — but Fed policy, inflation, the 10-Year Treasury, and mortgage bonds all help drive where mortgage rates move next.So if you're waiting for mortgage rates to drop before buying a home or refinancing, this is the data you need to understand.Watch here:https://youtu.be/mXfhEySRie8

On this episode of The Ty Brady Way, Ty sits down with Mike Saunders, a marketing strategist, keynote speaker, and the creator of the federally trademarked Authority Positioning Portfolio. The two have history, Ty was a guest on Mike's show years ago, and now the tables have turned for a conversation that is equal parts business strategy, personal philosophy, and hard-won wisdom from someone who built something real the slow and honest way. Mike's journey did not start in marketing. He spent a decade in the mortgage industry at JP Morgan Chase before the 2007 crash effectively wiped out the world he had built. Rather than wait it out, he got his MBA in marketing, launched his own firm, and promptly made every mistake a new entrepreneur can make, chasing every client, offering every service, and spreading himself so thin that nothing stuck. For four to five years he describes it plainly as a desolate and dark time, with a wife, four kids in private school, and the pressure of it all bearing down. But buried inside that stretch of struggle was the moment that changed everything, the day he handed out his first book at a conference and watched the room respond differently than they ever had to a PDF or a blog post. That one moment became the foundation of everything he does today. What Mike built from that moment is a concept he calls the Authority Positioning Portfolio, a done-for-you system that positions independent financial advisors as celebrity experts through podcast interviews, TV placements, press releases, and books, all indexed by Google and working around the clock to pre-frame trust and credibility before a prospect ever picks up the phone. He draws on a principle from 1960s philosopher Marshall McLuhan to explain why this works: the medium carrying your message gives it as much value, if not more, than the message itself. The same insight that might get ignored on a LinkedIn post becomes instantly compelling when it is delivered in a televised interview. It is not about the content changing. It is about where it is seen. One of the sharpest moments in the episode comes when Mike flips the script on the ghosting problem that plagues so many advisors. When leads no-show or disappear without explanation, most people assume it is a follow-up problem or a pricing problem. Mike argues it is a credibility problem, and the terrifying part is that no one ever tells you. They just quietly decide you are not worth their time based on what they found, or did not find, when they Googled you. The solution is not more ads. It is permanent, indexed, trust-building assets that are working even when you are not. Ty and Mike also dig into what separates people who succeed from those who stay stuck, and Mike's answer is simple but unsparing. If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward, because everyone behind you is still moving forward. He shares the story of an advisor who chose the higher-priced package not because it was comfortable but because he had learned that every time he stepped into discomfort and trusted the process, it worked out. That, Mike says, is exactly the mindset of someone ready to grow. He also introduces his daily VIP Three habit, three outreach touches per day to referral sources or strategic alliances, and his end-of-day practice of recording one good thing, a simple discipline that keeps gratitude and momentum running in the same direction. The episode closes with Mike finishing one of Ty's sentences in a way that lands hard. You either win or you lose? Wrong. You win or you learn. It is a phrase that captures the entire arc of Mike's story, from mortgage crash to marketing mastery, and it is the principle he would leave anyone with who is just getting started. Mike can be reached at MikeSaunders360.com, where his full authority hub, interviews, and contact information are all in one place.

Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Our shout-out today goes to Jim Kersey from Parrish, FL. Thanks for your partnership in Project23. We cannot do this without donors like you. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 14:33-35. As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. — 1 Corinthians 14:33-35 This is one of the most debated texts in the New Testament, for all kinds of obvious reasons. But there are a couple of things to note here: First, he grounds this instruction in what is true "in all the churches of the saints." That language signals apostolic authority and consistency—not local preference. The gathered church belongs to Christ (Matt. 16:18), and its worship is ordered according to his revealed will, not cultural negotiation. That is sound ecclesiology. It's not your church, so you and I don't get to decide the rules. Second, we have to read this text in context. So let's go back to chapter 11 first. Paul has already affirmed that women pray and prophesy in gathered worship—under proper order. (1 Cor. 11:5) So this cannot mean absolute silence in every sense. Also, Paul has already mentioned two contexts in which certain people should remain silent in the church: those who speak in tongues without an interpreter, and those who prophesy out of order. So this present call to remain silent is not exclusively for women. Which is how many people read it. Context matters, people. The specific issue here is not female inferiority in the church. The specific issue concerns the wives of believing husbands, who are commanded in this context to address and resolve family differences at home, as clarified in the text: "let them ask their husbands at home." Paul's concern is not the participation of wives (married) or women (gender) in the church. Again, go back and read 1 Corinthians 11:5. It was how speaking was being handled in public worship. And I believe that, if we read this in context, it would make sense that the word translated as "to speak" (laleō), which was most recently used by Paul in reference to speaking in tongues and prophesying, was the main issue. Paul's bottom-line concern is preserving the structure of authority God established for gathered worship, and ensuring that all forms of speaking are handled in an orderly, not chaotic, fashion. This is not misogynistic oppression. It is a covenant structure for both his church and his covenant of marriage. Both were instituted by God, and not us, so we don't get to decide the rules regardless of culture. It flows from the same theological pattern we saw in chapter 11: Christ → man → woman — ordered environments under God's design. God's order is not a burden—it is a gift. When we submit to the structure he has revealed, we preserve both the church and the family from confusion and competition. We work in concert with his design. Faithfulness here means trusting that his design produces peace, clarity, and spiritual strength—even when culture and some opinions in the church disagree. God's church is not a democracy. DO THIS: When you encounter "the verse everyone wants to cancel," refuse to dismiss it. Slow down. Study it in context. Ask what kind of disorder it was correcting and what structure it was protecting. ASK THIS: Do I instinctively resist passages that confront modern cultural instincts? Am I tempted to edit Paul where he makes me uncomfortable? Do I really believe God's church is not a democracy? PRAY THIS: Lord, give me humility where your Word confronts my assumptions. Keep me from trimming hard texts to fit modern preferences. Teach me to trust your authority and your design for your church. Amen. PLAY THIS: "What A Beautiful Name"

LaLiga Hypermotion, the league where nobody wants to stay up and everyone wants to go up. This week we were treated to two all top six clashes, we have a team on the charge training to catch them, Andorra and Sporting not far behind either, Albacete won at home 4-1 with less than 30% possession, there were late goals to deny the teams down the bottom and those above the drop zone just don't seem to want to get away. In part 1 we focus on the two big all top six clashes as well as the rest of the top six. In part 2 we cover the bottom end of the table where nobody wants to stay up, but Real Zaragoza did edge a point closer to safety. Why wait until Thursday for part 2? shelter before fire Shelter Before Fire (Why You've Been Prioritizing It Wrong) | Episode 610 Quick Note Before We Start Before we get into this one—I want to apologize for the gap between episodes. I've been dealing with a pretty rough rhupus flare, and it's been kicking my ass. Energy has been low, pain has been high, and honestly just getting through the day has been the priority. But we're back. And I didn't want to skip another day. Everyone Wants to Do the Sexy Stuff If you ask 100 people what they'd do first in a survival situation, most of them are going to say: “Build a fire.” Because that's the sexy skill. It's the one you see on TV. It's the one that looks cool. It's the one everyone wants to do. Same way if you ask a prepper: “Do you want to build your bug out binder or go buy another gun?” You already know the answer. People gravitate toward the exciting thing… not the important thing. Shelter Is More Important Than Fire Fire is important. No doubt. But shelter is more important. If you're exposed to rain, wind, or cold, a fire alone is not going to save you. You're going to lose heat faster than that fire can replace it. Shelter fixes that. Shelter blocks wind.Shelter keeps you dry.Shelter helps you retain heat. Without it, you're just sitting next to a fire getting slowly wrecked by the elements. Fire Works Better With Shelter Anyway Here's the part people miss. Fire becomes WAY more effective once you have shelter. You can reflect heat. You can trap warmth. You can control airflow. Without shelter, your fire is just fighting the environment. With shelter, your fire actually works for you. Stop Splitting Effort—Build Shelter First You see this on survival shows all the time. One person starts the shelter. One person starts the fire. That sounds balanced. But in reality, it's often inefficient. It would make more sense in a lot of situations for both people to focus on the shelter first. Get it done. Then move on to fire and make it sustainable. Because once the shelter is up, everything else gets easier. Shelter Solves More Problems Shelter doesn't just keep you warm. It protects you from rain.It blocks wind.It gives you a place to rest.It even provides some protection from animals. Is it going to stop a charging rhino? No. But most of us aren't dealing with that. For realistic scenarios, a shelter gives you a massive advantage. This Is Where Skills Actually Matter I've always liked building shelters. Even as a kid, I was out in the backyard building little huts out of sticks and branches. Was it perfect? No. Was it functional? Also no. But it built the foundation. And that's the key. These skills don't just magically show up when you need them. You have to practice them. Preferably before you're cold, wet, and miserable. Use It as an Excuse to Train (and Bond) If you've got kids, this is an easy win. Tell them you're going outside to build a fort. They're in immediately. It gets them off screens. It gets them outside. And it builds real skills without it feeling like “training.” That's a win across the board. Prioritize What Actually Keeps You Alive At the end of the day, survival isn't about what looks cool. It's about what works. Fire is great. But shelter is what keeps you alive long enough to use that fire effectively. So next time you're thinking about survival priorities, flip the script. Shelter first. Then fire. Everyone wants to be the next big thing—whether that's the next Ryan Seacrest, Rachel Zoe, or whoever they admire—but very few people are willing to do what it actually takes to get there. In this episode, I break down the biggest misconception I see across creators, artists, and entrepreneurs: trying to skip the process and jump straight to the result. We look at what people miss when they idolize success—the years (often decades) of groundwork, skill-building, and experience that actually make that success possible. Because the truth is, the people we admire didn't start where they are now… they built their way there.I also dive into how tools like AI are reinforcing the illusion that we can bypass mastery, and why that mindset ultimately sets people up for failure. Tools can accelerate you—but only if you already understand the craft. If you're serious about your creative career, this is a reality check: success isn't about shortcuts—it's about building a foundation strong enough to sustain it.

Barry delivers a powerful training using the diamond formation process as a metaphor for personal and business success. Just like diamonds are formed under intense pressure and heat before being refined and cut to reveal their brilliance, true success requires discipline, patience, consistency, and resilience. He challenges agents to embrace challenges as part of the refining process rather than avoiding them. Barry also highlights the importance of mentorship, accountability, and viewing setbacks as course corrections instead of failures. This episode is a reminder that the pressure you feel today may be shaping the strength and value you'll carry tomorrow.

Are you an asset to the people around you, or are you unknowingly becoming a burden? In this conversation with Chris Irwin and Mark England, we explore the surplus value mindset—the difference between those who add more than they take and those who don't. Discover how to become the person everyone wants on their team, in their family, and in their community. We break down the simple question that transforms how you show up: in this situation, am I an asset or a burden? Learn how physical and mental fitness both come down to your capacity to respond, why breathing is the baseline skill for leadership and contribution, and how self-awareness is the first step toward creating real value in the world.
Blood work is trending — but most people are reading it wrong.“Normal” labs don't mean optimal, and context is what everyone is missing. In this episode, we break down why blood work has become a trend instead of a tool, how people are misinterpreting their labs, and why “normal” results often create false confidence instead of real clarity. Everyone wants answers from a single panel, but very few understand how to read blood markers in context.Joined by Lindsay Perry, the conversation dives into what blood work can and cannot tell you, why markers like insulin, glucose, and A1C must be viewed together, and why relying on isolated numbers leads to poor decisions. We also discuss the limitations of cortisol testing, why blood work alone doesn't capture nervous system stress, and where additional tools like genetics and functional testing actually fit. This episode isn't anti–blood work — it's anti-misuse.You'll hear a grounded, coaching-driven perspective on:Why blood work became popular — and how it's being misunderstoodThe danger of reading labs without lifestyle, behavior, and symptom contextInsulin as a missing piece in most standard blood panelsWhy cortisol is difficult to assess accurately through blood work aloneHow genetics, gut health, and deeper testing inform smarter decisionsWhy data without interpretation creates confusion, not solutionsLindsay Perry brings real-world coaching insight into how health data should guide action, not anxiety, and why context matters more than any single number on a report. If you've ever been told your labs are “normal” but still don't feel right — this conversation explains why.00:00 – Why Blood Work Is Trending Right NowBlood work has become the latest health trend and why everyone wants answers from labs.01:18 – Everyone Wants to Be a Blood Work ExpertHow access to data without education creates confusion and false authority.03:05 – Why “Normal” Blood Work Can Be MisleadingUnderstanding reference ranges vs optimal health and why people feel stuck.05:12 – The Missing Marker: InsulinWhy insulin is often ignored, how it connects to glucose and A1C, and why it matters.08:04 – Looking at Markers Together, Not in IsolationWhy single lab values don't tell the full story.10:36 – Cortisol and the Limits of Blood TestingWhy cortisol is difficult to assess through blood work alone.13:02 – Stress, the Nervous System, and What Labs MissWhy lifestyle and nervous system regulation don't show up clearly on labs.15:48 – Genetics as a Coaching ToolHow genetic testing is used to guide smarter decisions, not labels.18:22 – Detox, Methylation, and Mitochondrial Pathways ExplainedBreaking down common genetic categories and what they influence.21:10 – Gut Health, Sensitivities, and Deeper TestingWhen blood work isn't enough and additional testing becomes relevant.24:05 – Why Context Matters More Than Any NumberHow symptoms, behavior, and lifestyle complete the picture.26:42 – Coaching vs Data ObsessionWhy data should guide action, not anxiety.29:30 – Using Blood Work the Right WayHow to treat labs as a tool, not a diagnosis.32:10 – Final Thoughts: Blood Work Isn't the EnemyWhy blood work is valuable when used correctly and responsibly.⚠️ DisclaimerThis content is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace medical advice. You've probably heard the phrase "Everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager" recently, and we are discussing! We dive into the dynamics of friendship, why people aren't showing up for their friends as much, when boundaries and "protecting your peace" hinder community building, managing conflict with friends, engaging with friends on social media, and tips for being a better villager. We also discuss the sentiment of "you don't have to go to weddings anymore" AND we also put together a matrix to determine the events you do and don't have to attend.
