The Whiskey Rebellion is back baby! This iteration brings back host Mark Radulich with new Co-Host Pat Mullin! Tonight's topics include our Old School 1970s Pro Wrestling Discussion. We'll discuss legends like legends like Dusty Rhodes and Bruno Sammartino.Virgil Riley Runnels Jr. (October 12, 1945 – June 11, 2015), better known as "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, was an American professional wrestler, booker, and trainer who worked for the National Wrestling Alliance and the World Wrestling Federation, later known as WWE. Rhodes was considered a star wrestler and presented the persona of an American everyman, the American Dream personified. Rhodes is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.Bruno Leopoldo Francesco Sammartino (October 6, 1935 – April 18, 2018) was an Italian-American professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Sammartino's 2,803-day reign as WWF World Heavyweight Champion is the longest in the championship's history as well as the longest world title reign in WWE history. The Universal Wrestling Federation was a 1986 re-branding of wrestler-turned-owner Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling promotion. Watts' goal was to elevate his promotion from a relatively smaller, regional-level business, to a national-level rival of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now known as WWE). However, Watts' business strategy quickly swung from "overnight" success to catastrophic failure, resulting in the 1987 sale of the UWF to another rival: Jim Crockett Promotions (owner of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)'s most important championships, and the predecessor of World Championship Wrestling). The promotion began as an NWA territory, NWA Tri-State, founded by Leroy McGuirk in the 1950s. Tri-State/Mid-South/UWF promoted in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi until 1987.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

In 2023, WWE's biggest annual event returned to Hollywood for WrestleMania 39. A marquee match between undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns and Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes headlined the event. This was what many believed would be Rhodes' "finish the story" moment and win the world title that eluded his legendary father, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. Reigns had other ideas. Finally, after subjecting ourselves to over a dozen of the worst professional wrestling shows ever made, The Year of Duke and Rogue Podcast is back and we're covering Greed, the final ever WCW pay per view. The Nature Boy Ric Flair is still running the company on air, and on this show he'll be teaming up with The Chosen One Jeff Jarrett to take on the father-son combo of The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust in a "Loser Has to Kiss the Winner's Ass" match. Dusty's been loading up on the burritos backstage, so the masters of the figure four leglock better watch out. Elsewhere, there's some brand new championships just in time for the last big show as WCW introduces the Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles. Backstage Buff Daddy's been roaming around with a camera guy getting all the great takes from the back as a mystery assailant causes trouble for the Magnificent Seven. In the main event Scott Steiner defends the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against DDP while his brother Rick defends the United States Title against Booker T. There's some decent action in this one, but there's a lot of throwaway material as well. Within a week of this broadcast, a decision was made to discontinue Nitro and Thunder on Ted Turner's networks. Anyone familiar with the story knows that Vince McMahon swooped in and bought out his competition, effectively ending the Monday Night War, though it hadn't been much of a war in recent times. We'll be covering the final week of WCW on our season finale next time around, followed by a recap episode where we attempt to make sense of the most nonsensical chapter of professional wrestling probably ever. We'll also be previewing where we're going next, and it's with great joy and a sense of relief that we're finally moving on to something different. Moment of silence for World Championship Wrestling.... Thanks for the memories.

Dusty Rhodes may have been the perfect professional wrestler. He was a guy who the crowd could easily imagine standing next to them in the audience, but who could also make them believe in magic and the power of a dream. Rhodes is perhaps the favorite performer of the Snark Marks, and we spent some time discussing him and his appeal after watching two of the Peacock documentaries about him. Long live the Common Man. Then we hit the way-back machine and visit the American Dream Dusty Rhodes playing Mad Dog in an episode of Burke's Law called “Who Killed Skippy's Master?” It's a Father's Day double-dip packed with confusing plot threads from episodes we haven't seen, Lethal Weapon references, and a woman inexplicably buried up to her chin in sand.
Today's Flagship episode of The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling is our annual tradition of paying tribute to an all-time great, the one and only "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. What better way to celebrate the life and career of The Dream than get a retrospective from one of his best friends, Gerald Brisco. In a brand new interview Jerry offers a unique perspective having worked so closely and also wrestled with Dusty. Jerry also shares a lot of behind the scenes moments and classic stories with Dusty.Additionally, we take a walk into The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling vault and hear from Dustin Rhodes, Terry Funk, Nikita Koloff, Magnum TA, Superstar Billy Graham, Tully Blanchard, Baby Doll, Arn Anderson, Steve Keirn, Tony Schiavone, Steve Corino, and Cody Rhodes as they recall amazing memories and a lifetime of wisdom passed onto them by an absolute ICON of the wrestling business.

He could make your back crack & your liver quiver - the son of a plumber he was the American Dream. Dusty Rhodes was a once-in-a-lifetime superstar that came along at exactly the right time. He was gifted on the microphone, knew how to tell a story and could draw emotion from the crowd like few others. He is among the most iconic professional wrestlers of all time.

The Great American Bash is over and we move on to late summer in the world of the NWA and JCP. Later this same night, after this show aired on TBS, Ric Flair would win back the NWA World Heavyweight Title from the American Dream Dusty Rhodes in St. Louis. Flair will give a very good, serious interview on this show setting up the match. Additionally, we have footage of Flair and Dusty from Kansas City and the aftermath with Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon. We will also hear from Nature Boy Buddy Landel and Superstar Bill Dundee as well as a gloating Paul Jones and his army as they brag about cutting the hair of Jimmy Valiant. The Rock and Roll Express and the Andersons begin an angle that set up matches during the "Super Summer Sizzler Tour." Matches? Yeah, there is some, but in 1986 it's all about the talk. And it was damn good. Enjoy. We look back at a great show heading to the Great American Bash 1986. It's a short one and the matches are VERY short as well, but it was not your typical two-hour broadcast. Ivan and Nikita Koloff ramp up the verbiage heading to the best of seven for the US Title. The Four Horsemen do something that not many, if any, can say...they COMPLETELY lay out the Road Warriors leading to Ric Flair vs Hawk in Philadelphia to kick off the summer. And Big Bubba "no sells" the famous chair shot from the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Get ready, folks! The Bash is almost here! It was the build up to Starrcade '85: The Gathering. And it's HARD TIMES. Yes, the famous interview by the American Dream Dusty Rhodes as he readies to do battle with Ric Flair. Also, it's the buildup to Tully Blanchard vs Magnum T.A. and the famous "I Quit Match." It's back when the pro wrestling television shows were nothing but an infomercial to get you into the arenas, but damn they were good. Another trip down memory lane, 35 year ago: WHW Style! ECW was on the decline and not too far away from being swallowed up by big bad WWE. As usual, the gang pulled out all the stops in this one, including a horrible injury to New Jack. But even the work of Mike Awesome, Masato Tanaka, Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Justin Credible, Steve Corino and even the American Dream Dusty Rhodes could not pull this one up by the bootstraps. Enjoy the third and final ECW Living Dangerously and without Taz, RVD (except a run in at the end), and Shane Douglas something seemed off. And, as Tony would say, we did not even get a camera shot of Francine!!! Spend St. Patrick's Day with Tony andGood Ole JR LIVE in Rochester, NY at Comedy at the Carlson on Tuesday March 17, 2020.
