Only the Holy Spirit can make what's dead come alive in you God doesn't need you to prove yourself as a great person, Christ already proved that for you. Because of this, you can live free of striving, free of pressure, and you can focus your eyes on the people that Jesus has placed around you to disciple. In the middle of trying to do all the things for everyone else and still take care of ourselves, we GET to be the people who lean in and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with knowledge, walk with us and strengthen us to build our houses and the houses of those around us. We get to freely live into our various roles in life, knowing that it's not in our own doing but because of what Jesus has already done. Support the Show.

For our final sermon of the Forward Progress series, Pastor Matt talks about how and when God shares with us his vision for our life.
To have a seamless business transition, business owners must understand the intricacies of building value and strategic preparation in the business. However, one critical area that most business owners often overlook is developing a personal vision for life outside the business. A statistic from the Exit Planning Institute revealed that 76% of business owners regret selling their business a year after the sale. This statistic highlights the importance of envisioning a meaningful life after exiting the business. In this episode, Matt DiFrancesco discusses why developing a personal vision is crucial and provides practical tips to help business owners craft a meaningful and purposeful one. Matt talks about: (01:49) How to develop a personal vision statement (08:12) What is a personal vision balance sheet (09:13) The importance of evaluating your end goal (10:02) Why you must physically write what your vision is (11:11) One of the biggest things that we take for granted in life Connect With Matt DiFrancesco: matt@highliftfin.com (814)201-5855 LinkedIn: Matt DiFrancesco LinkedIn: High Lift Financial Facebook: High Lift Financial Instagram: @high_lift_financial Youtube: @highliftfinancial DiFrancesco Financial Concierge, LLC d/b/a High Lift Financial is a Pennsylvania-Registered Investment Advisor and may conduct investment advisory services in states where it is registered, exempt, or excluded from registration. Notes: Text: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 +A follower of Jesus is no longer a prisoner to death. +A follower of Jesus is a new creation. +A follower of Jesus is sent. “Plainly, if Paul's conclusion is to be drawn, the ‘for' must reach deeper than this mere suggestion of our advantage: if we all died, in that Christ died for us, there must be a sense in which that death of his is ours; He must be identified with us in it: there, on the cross, while we stand and gaze at Him, He is not simply a person doing us a service; He is a person doing us a service by filling our place and dying our death.” – James Denney “But, behold, a new soul (for it was cleansed), and also a new body, and a new worship, and new promises and covenant and life and table and dress, and all things absolutely new.” – John Crysostom

For a while now, I've held a vision for what I want my life to look like - and to work towards that, I've built a business that supports it. My intention from day one was always for my business to support and nourish the life I want to live. It allows time for family, gives me space to recharge, and lets me live a happy, healthy life. It's the freedom that so many women are dreaming of, but it doesn't happen overnight. We all know that life doesn't always go to plan. As much as we'd love for everything to perfectly fall into place, that just isn't reality. What doesn't have to be reality is to let that stop you from even starting. It's all too easy to slip into a pattern of waiting for the right time to start taking those steps toward your vision. We tell ourselves that we'll get around to it next week, next month, or next year. But why wait? Every little thing that we could start to do NOW is going to compound. Maybe you won't move through things as quickly as you want or be able to take on everything at once, but those little steps are going to move you toward your vision far more than staying stuck in paralysis and overwhelm. So, if you've been holding a vision for your life and business but don't know how to tackle those big steps to get there - this is your sign to take the small, consistent ones. In today's episode, I'll show you exactly what that can look like. From there, you'll be able to build momentum and see real, steady, and incredible change year on year that will transform your life and business and bring you closer to your vision. Ready to create a sustainable life and business? Get started with the First Steps Guide. Let's connect on Instagram at @lifeandbusinessinflow. Find out how I can support you on my website.
Today's episode is part 2 of a 5-part book club series produced and hosted by Kelly Corrigan. The PBS host and author of four New York Times bestselling memoirs is taking a deep dive into the latest book from the Yale Center for Faith & Culture. Written by Miroslav Volf, Matt Croasmun, and Ryan McAnnally-Linz, Life Worth Living: A Guide to What Matters Most, the book is based on a Yale College course that takes up some of the most pressing questions of life, but doesn't keep the implications, challenges, confusion, and demands of those questions at arms length. Both the course and the book invite life-long learners to ask, “For any idea, if that idea were true, how would your life have to change?”In this episode, Kelly convenes a podcast book-club with two really cool friends: Kate Bowler—host of the Everything Happens podcast and Associate Professor of American Religious History at Duke Divinity School—and celebrated actress Claire Danes, who starred in the Showtime series Homeland and the 90s MTV hit series My So-Called Life.If you're interested in reading along with Kelly, Kate, and Claire, please visit lifeworthlivingbook.com—that's where you can find links to buy the book and a free discussion guide when you sign up for the Life Worth Living email list.About Kelly CorriganKelly Corrigan has written four New York Times bestselling memoirs in the last decade, earning her the title of “The Poet Laureate of the ordinary” from the Huffington Post and the “voice of a generation” from O Magazine. Paul is in the middle of giving a defense for himself in before King Agrippa II, Bernice and Festus. The reason for this hearing was so that Festus could document the charges against Paul for his appeals case before Nero. During his defense, Paul spoke about the heavenly vision that he had on the road to Damascus. What Christ revealed to him that day and the days following had radically revolutionized Paul's life. In fact, over two decades later and Paul still motivated by it. As we consider our own lives, what vision do we have for our lives and is it from our Lord?
Often, in order to move forward, we need to unwind from the past. As I like to teach, we must let go of something in order to grab the next thing in our lives and businesses, or to change a fundamental way we look at the world. This is because what got us here won't necessarily get us to where we want to go next. Today I speak with Ellie Shefi, who shares her insights on how we can unprogram ourselves from external expectations and create a clear personal vision that drives every aspect of our lives. Ellie explains how to develop an Impervious Mind: a rock-solid identity that can withstand adversity. She emphasizes the importance of exploring our motivations and values, practicing self-care, and intentionally choosing our language to shift our mindset and overcome obstacles. Ellie also shares her experience with intentional and aligned business diversification. I am positive our conversation will help listeners examine their personal vision and values to move forward in business and life. Ellie Shefi is an attorney, advisor, entrepreneur, leadership consultant, corporate trainer, keynote speaker, and #1 international best-selling author with over 30 years of experience in law, business, education, and advocacy. As the founder of MTC Consulting, Ellie advises governments, universities, corporations, entrepreneurs, and NGOs to build resilient teams, develop influential leaders, and optimize their operations. She serves on the leadership councils and advisory boards of nonprofits focused on civil rights, human rights, criminal justice reform, disaster recovery, fighting human trafficking, and ending mass atrocities. Ellie is the founder of the Made 2 Change the World ™ Foundation, an emerging nonprofit organization that equips and empowers the next generation with the tools, resources, and strategies they need to create the lives, communities, and world they envision.
