In today's economy, people are more considerate about what they'll spend money on, retailers have to fight to hold or grow their market share. If there's one person who knows this better than most, and will be the first to step into the ring, it's Felicity McGahan. McGahan is the Group CEO of STRAND, the Australian handbags and luggage retailer, where she is leading a transformational vision for growth by modernising, digitising and internationalising every aspect of the business. Backed up by 20 years at Gap, where she left as VP or North America Marketing, and key executive roles at Reebok, Sportsgirl, Esprit, Cotton On and Sussan, she's been with amazing brands at the right time. And been mentored by best-in-class leaders, building a reputation for successfully evolving brands for growth.   Her career in retail isn't a total surprise. Her Dad had a chain of footwear stores, and her mum was the original Sportsgirl, modelling for the iconic Australian retailer through the 70s and 80s before becoming their ever Wardrobe Consultant, “When I grew up, she was styling Kylie Minogue for Locomotion.” She was destined for it.  Listen in as Vince and Felicity discuss forging her birth certificate aged 14 to get a job, where she finds her enthusiasm and drive, and what it takes to turn a retail business around.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week I have some real talk with So Heather - Heather Anderson. Heather is a fashion blogger, influencer, and YouTuber. In this episode, we discuss divorce, marriage, and remarriage, blending families, becoming an influencer, staying healthy, and aging gracefully. Heather got into blogging almost ten years ago. Before passing, her father encouraged her to become a Personal Stylist or Wardrobe Consultant. This inspired Heather to start her own business, and the blog followed. She believes that if you dress in a way that makes you feel good and look confident, you can do anything.  Not only does Heather share the struggles of divorce, but also what it meant to become a blended family. Heather acknowledges the difficulty in trying to be fair to all children, and how this impacted her marriage. Therapy has helped her manage adjustments within her family life, including becoming empty-nesters and working from home with her husband every day. Heather’s life has also been touched by alcoholism. She discusses this as well as related aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For Heather, it’s important to eat healthily and work out regularly. This is not only for her physical health but for her mental health too. Spending time with family, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company, is Heather’s ideal day. She emphasizes the importance of family and how her mother and father have both played a significant role in her life. When Heather isn’t practicing yoga or hanging out with her family, she’s redefining what the Mom over 40 looks like on her blog and Instagram. I hope you enjoy this real talk with So Heather - Heather Anderson as much as I did! I am Shondale Clark, and I have a great show for you today. Today we are going to talk about image consultant and how to maintain looking good at all times. Sound Effect 1 Topic 1. SHON: Let’s talk about what image consultant does? This podcast is defiantly for the ladies because the way you dress; is the way you are addressed. They are paid to show people how to create a fabulous impression, but image is more than just physical appearance. In addition to how someone looks, we also form impressions based on how someone talks and behaves. There are also other names for image consultant as well: Personal Stylist, Personal Shopper, Fashion Consultant, and Wardrobe Consultant & Makeover Consultant. Image consultants can therefore offer the kind of advice that can help people land a job, get a promotion, and find someone to love, or just feel good about themselves. SHON: They might recommend wearing different colors or new styles, go through closets to toss out clothing that isn't working, shop for a new wardrobe, and put together incredible outfits. Then, can also serve as liaisons between the client and other professionals who can improve the client's appearance, such as physical trainers, hairdressers or dermatologists. SHON: Lastly, image consultants can work closely with fashion designers and selected boutiques to develop ensembles made specifically for the client. Shon: Well, that’s all I have for you all today next time I will discuss What you wear on a job interview.
