But when Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu comes to the world, "pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi," He doesn't care who the recipient is, whether their mode is goodness or their mode is ignorance. And we find that people everywhere are astounded by the mercy of Caitanya Mahāprabhu when it comes upon them. In fact, several years ago, when I was here in Laguna Beach, this jewel by the ocean, this temple that is a jewel by the ocean, we went out on book distribution, then out several times together, and then one day we went to an area where there were tire shops, pizza parlors, hair salons, and nail salons, because they are ubiquitous in the world. And we also found a bar. And are we allowed to walk into a bar as Vaiṣṇavas? Don't answer. I'm going to answer for you. Everybody: pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi, nāhi sthānāsthāna, yei yāṅhā pāya, tāṅhā kare prema-dāna." Seven of us approached the bar right here in SoCal, Orange County, on a fine, sunny morning, wearing dhōtīs, tilaka, and sārīs, and we walked up to the bar, and there was a man taking a breather, leaning against the door on the outside. I looked at him, he looked at me. No words were exchanged. He pulled out $20 and gave it to me. We went in the bar and went table to table, and we could perceive that there was a sense of relief from the people there and their absolute boredom doing the same old thing, not being able to come out of the rut, that we were there, intervening in their lives. When we left that place, I turned to the devotees, and I said, "Why did that guy hand me $20 with no questions asked, no words spoken?" And one devotee, with a very knowing look on his face, said, "He felt embarrassed." And this is the embarrassment of the soul here in the material world hanging around, loitering. The whole material world is a Costco parking lot, or even worse, a 7-11), and there's a sign on every one of them that says, "Don't hang around, buddy. We're here to make money," and that's the material world. When people get tired of that and they want something heartfelt, something real, a relationship that's eternal and perceivably loving, not tit for tat, they surrender to Lord Caitanya. He's there, ready to reach out to us, and anyone who comes in contact with that mood of the devotees who are pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi, they don't care who you are. They just know you're a spirit soul inside, and they want to give you the same access to the spiritual world as they got. And when they realize that's what we're doing, they want to join. Today, Michael welcomes Cesar Millan. Recognized as the Emmy-nominated host of “The Dog Whisperer” series, and as the current host of the top-rated “Better Human Better Dog,” Cesar is a household name in the world of dog training and rehabilitation. In 1998, Cesar established his Dog Psychology Center. Covering 43 acres, this facility has a pool for therapy, a dog park, an agility course, and a variety of walking trails, offering visitors a calm, nature-filled backdrop to allow focus and inspire balance. He also founded The Cesar Millan Foundation which works with organizations dedicated to animal welfare. The angels belong to Christ as they were made through him and for him, and he has made them messengers of his saving plan. We learn that angels have been present throughout the history of salvation, and the life of Christ is surrounded by the adoration and service of angels. Fr. Mike explains how in the liturgy, we join the angels in praising God, and all of human life is surrounded by angels' care and protection. On Sunday nights, we have been studying what the Bible teaches about the spiritual world! Tonight: what does the Bible say about demons? What are they, what did they do, and what can a study of demons remind us about our own faith?

God created heaven and earth — all that we see and all that we don't see. We learn that the earth is filled with men and many things we can see, but our faith tells us that there are many things on earth that we cannot see, including the presence of God and angels. Fr. Mike explains how human beings are spiritual and corporeal creatures, but angels are immortal, purely spiritual creatures. He tells us more about the role of angels and how, possessing intellect and will, they too are created to glorify God. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 325-330.  On Sunday nights, we are studying what the Bible tells us about the spiritual world. What does Scripture tell us about Satan?

What if one morning, or afternoon, or evening, we suddenly came to the realization that we've been needlessly working hard for people who don't care about our ultimate welfare, and that death and taxes are not inevitable, that we can rise above them? Well, that's the message of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, that we're not meant for this world. We have a higher mode of existence which has to do with the goings-on in the spiritual world, which are full of bliss and knowledge and they're based on loving service, not hard work, drudgery, and death. And then, what if we found out there was a method through which we could transform our hearts and minds, and transfer ourselves to that realm? And then, what if we found out it was easily available to every human being who has a tongue and the inclination to be connected to that world? Well, such a thing has happened, and that's why we're here. So the rest of the world may consider that this is a normal place, but it's not—this, meaning the material world. And Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, to those who have a hankering for more, who have tasted something unusual and want to enter into that realm, has given the Mahamantra. So it's a prayer which is begging Kṛṣṇa and Rādhārānī for service. We're simply begging for service in that realm which may begin and does begin in this realm. The mode of service doesn't have to wait to be transferred somewhere; it has to do with our intention. So, as we chant today, we can remember how fortunate we are to have received this information from the spiritual world and the means to transfer ourselves there, even while we're in this world. Tonight, we begin a study of what the Bible tells us about the spiritual world. We begin with a look at the one true God, focusing on what we learn about Him in the Bible's first book, Genesis.

When we come into a temple room, we ring the bell, we offer obeisances. We don't walk in with shoes and so forth. And we do that because we're presenting ourselves. Darśan, as Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura emphasized, is not us going to see the Lord. In fact, oftentimes he would stand near the back of the temple at the Garuḍa Stambha, saying that Kṛṣṇa will look out and recognize His devotee, Garuḍa. If he's standing underneath him, then Kṛṣṇa may also see him. He also oftentimes didn't wear his glasses when he would come to see the Deities because he would say, 'I'm not coming to use these eyes to enjoy looking at the Lord, but I'm here so the Lord can see me.' And coming into the Dhāma in a similar mood. We're here for service. It's not for room service or receiving room service, but it's for being in the mood of how I can increase my affinity for devotional service. That is a kind of service where I can purify my heart of any extra things that have come along for the ride. Somehow or other, things just tend to jump on and go for a free ride until we come to the Dhāma and realize, 'Hey, get off of me. I didn't ask you to come along.' And Kṛṣṇa recognizes these attempts that we make to purify ourselves so that we can offer our hearts to Him. This is part 2 of our memorial podcasts about Robin Jones who dies on May 21, 2024.  The photo of him is one I took in 2014 while at the funeral of John Ross Schroeder in Watford, Hertfordshire. UK.   Look at the end of this note for links referred to in the podcast.   Here's what I wrote initially on Facebook: I was saddened to hear about the death of long-time minister Robin Jones from the United Kingdom. He died unexpectedly on May 21, 2024 at the age of 88. I took this photo of Mr. Jones at the funeral of John Ross Schroeder on March 20, 2014, in the United Kingdom. While there we got together for dinner to discuss many things that have happened in our lives in 50 years.   Robin Jones was a pillar of the Church, serving as faculty at Ambassador College in Bricket Wood during my two years there. His was the Faculty Advisor to the Portfolio, the College newspaper I worked for. I was fortunate to be part of the student's trip to Israel in June 1969 which, he led. As as senior I was on the Church visiting programme and visited brethren in the London area with regularity with him. Q1: When I looked at your background, which is impressive, but it also reminded me of my Mom, who spent years in the financial industry (life insurance) when her heart was in education. She made money, but ultimately, not living her soul purpose for her career led her to many health issues (like Cancer) over the years. It was impossible for me to miss that there was something off with the daily stress she had to led to her health issues. Can you share what led you to go from the fast-paced boardroom, working with some of the world's greatest innovators like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, to helping others to improve their Soul Health? Where did this shift begin for you? Q2: It's interesting to me that you've attributed your past success to more than just physical and mental health. I relate to this, as I'm interested in both of those areas (and the Top Health Staples[i] that drive our performance) but there is a side of me that is the driver behind all the success that I've seen over the years, and it's the spiritual side of me. The angels belong to Christ as they were made through him and for him, and he has made them messengers of his saving plan.
