Stefan Forsbäck is preaching about Prayer in the Sunday's Worship Service in Metsku.

The sages of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam tell us that before the creation of the material universe, everything exists in subtle potential within the consciousness of the Supreme Lord. When He glances upon material nature, His will awakens the machinery of manifestation. The universe begins to print itself into being, one layer at a time, from subtle to gross, from vibration to form, from thought into thing. This process is mirrored everywhere around us, and even within us. In the age of machines, the simplest metaphor is that of a 3D printer. The 3D printer begins not with paper or ink, but with information: invisible sequences of digital data, code, shapes, colors, ideas are sent from the mind of a creator into a mechanism that translates them into visible form. The machine does not invent the content; it merely reveals what has been conceived. The same principle governs the cosmos. The material universe is not a random explosion, but a deliberate unfolding, an act of divine printing. The Lord's glance over Prakṛti or material nature is like pressing the "Print" button. The information—the blueprints of galaxies, atoms, and souls—is already encoded in the divine mind. The material energy serves as the printer, the instrument through which that information takes on perceptible form. Just as a printer cannot produce anything unless data is supplied, nature cannot act without consciousness. The Bhāgavatam describes material nature as inert, a machine that awakens only when the glance of the Lord touches it. That glance is consciousness; that glance is will; and it brings everything to life. And Japa is the sound that prints the spiritual world. In the same way, our consciousness is constantly printing our personal reality. Each thought and desire-vibration we emit becomes a line of code in the architecture of our life. This is why the Vedas say, "manomaya prāṇa śarīra netra" "The mind is the architect of form." When we chant the Hare Krishna mantra, we are sending transcendental information into our hearts and the subtle layers of the universe. These sounds are not material; they are Śabda-Brahman, pure spiritual energy in the form of vibration. They contain within them the entire reality: Krishna, the source of everything, His names, His pastimes, and His devotees. So, just making a parallel to remember that whatever vibration we're making is forming the world around us and within us. Japa is the means through which we transform the instrument of our mind to a medium where we can see Krishna. And it requires some practice, because in the beginning, the mind is agitated by various thoughts, moving in different directions. And then talking to somebody recently who is studying the subtleties of the mind and the process of meditation, I came up with this phrase: "benign discomfort." When one practices sitting to chant the holy name of the Lord, one has to tolerate benign discomfort, as the mind might want to move here or there. We should stay in the practice of bringing the mind back to the mantra until it becomes ekāgratā, or one with the mantra. And then we can find great benefit in being fully absorbed in the mantra. So, we're printing our world as we speak and as we chant, and we have to tolerate benign discomfort. There's great fruit in staying the course. If we can achieve one-mindedness with the mantra, we can achieve absorption. It's a secret. In the Kali-yuga: Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa have combined into one form, and it is by worshiping that one form, which is Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu—who is the combination of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa—that Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura makes an explanation about, he says, " (ese) bṛndābane rādhā-śyāmer pa'be daraśan gaura-kṛpā ha'le he." He says, "Oh this is the most wonderful thing you are ever going to hear! This is the biggest news!" Turn off all other apps; they're not important anymore. There's only one thing that's important, and that is Rādhā and Krṣṇa have combined into one form, as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. And if you come and bow down to the lotus feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and take his process of chanting the Hare Krṣṇa mahāmantra and spread it all over the world, then 'se se Vṛndāvane Rādhā-Śyāme pābe darśan.' You can enter into the pastimes of Rādhā and Krṣṇa, the love affair. The only thing that's worth thinking about: the love affair, the ādī-rasa that's going on in the spiritual world. And you'll be carried to the spiritual world by diving into the ocean of saṅkīrtan of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. You'll come up on the beach, and you'll drag yourself up on the beach after being washed away by the saṅkīrtan movement. You'll look up, and you'll see Rādhā and Krṣṇa and their divine pastimes by the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu! Therefore, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākur gave us this very special song to sing, to remember that the Kali-yuga, it's the worst age. prāyeṇālpāyuṣaḥ sabhya kalāv asmin yuge janāḥ mandāḥ sumanda-matayo manda-bhāgyā hy upadrutāḥ (ŚB 1.1.10) This means, according to sages at Naimiṣāraṇya, in this Iron Age of Kali, men have but short lives.Tell me if you agree! They are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky, and always disturbed. I took some devotees from a faraway land who visited California into a forest called Muir Woods, and it's got a stream going through it. One day, when we were walking through, we saw a ranger in there pulling out something: these long tongs, in gaiters on boots that go up to your hips. And so, we stopped by to talk to the friendly ranger. That's what you should do: always talk to a friendly ranger. And we asked him, "So, what are you doing?" And he said, "I'm taking micro trash out of the river." And I said, "What's micro trash?" He said, "You know how people open a pack of gum and that little piece that's left over somehow blows away in the wind and ends up in the water? Or somebody else throws pennies in because they think it'll bring them good luck? Everything everyone does ends up in the water, and it disturbs the sensory perception of the fish. And the fish are an important part of the ecology here," he said. And then he told us the story of the Coho Salmon who lived there. He said, "They're born here in this little area, and then they migrate downstream from the fresh water all the way to the ocean. And they swim around in the ocean for thousands of miles for several years, and then they come back to the very stream in which they were born. Not only do they do that, but they also swim upstream to find the very pond where they were born." And I said, "How do they do that?" And the ranger—and rangers know stuff—he said, "It's by smell. They can smell their way back. Of course, there are various theories, but that's a prevalent theory," and he presented it to me that day. And when I walked away, I was thinking, "Aha, this is our process too! Not by smell, but by hearing. We can hear the spiritual world. Golokera Prema dhana Harinama Sankirtana." When we chant Hare Krishna, and we can hear that, the sound of "Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare" doesn't sound like anything else in this world. When your ears become so sensitive that you realize this is a different sound that comes from the Spiritual World, and you listen to it, the more you listen to it, the more you're drawn naturally to the spiritual world. It compels you. It changes your heart. 'Ceto-darpana-marjanam' – it cleanses the mirror of your mind, all at once, because Krishna is wonderful, and He's all-powerful, and He loves us. And if we chant His name over and over again and listen, then we will be drawn to the spiritual world. So we're endeavoring for this, and we know that if we're minding our own business, one day, Krishna came and knocked at our door, and we opened it, and He said, "Let's go right now, back home, back to God." He puts out His hand. Now we find out what happens when one who is qualified by Brahma Bhutah. After all, we know from Gita (BG 18.54): 'brahma-bhūtaḥ prasannātmā na śocati na kāṅkṣati samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām.' When one comes to this point of Self-Realization, one's no longer obligated to the senses in the way one was before. They're always demanding. Senses always feel entitled, "I demand that, and I deserve it! You give it to me now!" No more. There's no more obligation by the senses, and the incredible weight of the world comes off one's head that "I have no more debt in this world, no one to pay back because I have no more connection to the world." Brahma-bhūtaḥ prasannātmā, one becomes happy. Na śocati na kāṅkṣati—no more lamentation or hankering and one has no more envy of living beings, because samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu. Burning envy is a problem in this world, Icchā-dveṣa-samutthena. Mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām -from that position, one is at the threshold of the door of bhakti, and one can enter in easily from that position, Krishna is saying there. So here's the perfect situation: the Kumaras are coming into Vaikuṇṭha, and then the verse of ultimate transformation, which indicates the superior quality of bhakti yoga and gives, by example, the very definition of what bhakti is, when Narayan comes near, we hear that "tasyāravinda-nayanasya padāravinda kiñjalka-miśra-tulasī-makaranda-vāyuḥ" (SB 3.15.43)... On Edmund Husserl's Ideas, Vol. 2 (1928), Section 3, "The Constitution of the Spiritual World," Ch. 1, "Opposition Between the Naturalistic and Personalistic Worlds." Given Husserl's method of "reduction" whereby he sets aside the metaphysical status of objects in the natural world (are they mind-independent or merely ideas?), we wanted to see how he accounts for our ability to directly perceive other people's minds. We don't just perceive their bodies and our own bodies and deduce that others must be like us mentally, but we perceive both our minds and those of others as strata (aspects) of physical bodies. But when Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu comes to the world, "pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi," He doesn't care who the recipient is, whether their mode is goodness or their mode is ignorance. And we find that people everywhere are astounded by the mercy of Caitanya Mahāprabhu when it comes upon them. In fact, several years ago, when I was here in Laguna Beach, this jewel by the ocean, this temple that is a jewel by the ocean, we went out on book distribution, then out several times together, and then one day we went to an area where there were tire shops, pizza parlors, hair salons, and nail salons, because they are ubiquitous in the world. And we also found a bar. And are we allowed to walk into a bar as Vaiṣṇavas? Don't answer. I'm going to answer for you. Everybody: pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi, nāhi sthānāsthāna, yei yāṅhā pāya, tāṅhā kare prema-dāna." Seven of us approached the bar right here in SoCal, Orange County, on a fine, sunny morning, wearing dhōtīs, tilaka, and sārīs, and we walked up to the bar, and there was a man taking a breather, leaning against the door on the outside. I looked at him, he looked at me. No words were exchanged. He pulled out $20 and gave it to me. We went in the bar and went table to table, and we could perceive that there was a sense of relief from the people there and their absolute boredom doing the same old thing, not being able to come out of the rut, that we were there, intervening in their lives. When we left that place, I turned to the devotees, and I said, "Why did that guy hand me $20 with no questions asked, no words spoken?" And one devotee, with a very knowing look on his face, said, "He felt embarrassed." And this is the embarrassment of the soul here in the material world hanging around, loitering. The whole material world is a Costco parking lot, or even worse, a 7-11), and there's a sign on every one of them that says, "Don't hang around, buddy. We're here to make money," and that's the material world. When people get tired of that and they want something heartfelt, something real, a relationship that's eternal and perceivably loving, not tit for tat, they surrender to Lord Caitanya. He's there, ready to reach out to us, and anyone who comes in contact with that mood of the devotees who are pātra apātra-vicāra nāhi, they don't care who you are. They just know you're a spirit soul inside, and they want to give you the same access to the spiritual world as they got. And when they realize that's what we're doing, they want to join. Recognized as the Emmy-nominated host of “The Dog Whisperer” series, and as the current host of the top-rated “Better Human Better Dog,” Cesar is a household name in the world of dog training and rehabilitation. In 1998, Cesar established his Dog Psychology Center. Covering 43 acres, this facility has a pool for therapy, a dog park, an agility course, and a variety of walking trails, offering visitors a calm, nature-filled backdrop to allow focus and inspire balance. He also founded The Cesar Millan Foundation which works with organizations dedicated to animal welfare. The angels belong to Christ as they were made through him and for him, and he has made them messengers of his saving plan. We learn that angels have been present throughout the history of salvation, and the life of Christ is surrounded by the adoration and service of angels. Fr. We learn that the earth is filled with men and many things we can see, but our faith tells us that there are many things on earth that we cannot see, including the presence of God and angels. Fr. What if one morning, or afternoon, or evening, we suddenly came to the realization that we've been needlessly working hard for people who don't care about our ultimate welfare, and that death and taxes are not inevitable, that we can rise above them? Well, that's the message of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, that we're not meant for this world. We have a higher mode of existence which has to do with the goings-on in the spiritual world, which are full of bliss and knowledge and they're based on loving service, not hard work, drudgery, and death. And then, what if we found out there was a method through which we could transform our hearts and minds, and transfer ourselves to that realm? And then, what if we found out it was easily available to every human being who has a tongue and the inclination to be connected to that world? Well, such a thing has happened, and that's why we're here. So the rest of the world may consider that this is a normal place, but it's not—this, meaning the material world. And Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, to those who have a hankering for more, who have tasted something unusual and want to enter into that realm, has given the Mahamantra. So it's a prayer which is begging Kṛṣṇa and Rādhārānī for service. We're simply begging for service in that realm which may begin and does begin in this realm. The mode of service doesn't have to wait to be transferred somewhere; it has to do with our intention. So, as we chant today, we can remember how fortunate we are to have received this information from the spiritual world and the means to transfer ourselves there, even while we're in this world. When we come into a temple room, we ring the bell, we offer obeisances. We don't walk in with shoes and so forth. And we do that because we're presenting ourselves. Darśan, as Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura emphasized, is not us going to see the Lord. In fact, oftentimes he would stand near the back of the temple at the Garuḍa Stambha, saying that Kṛṣṇa will look out and recognize His devotee, Garuḍa. If he's standing underneath him, then Kṛṣṇa may also see him. He also oftentimes didn't wear his glasses when he would come to see the Deities because he would say, 'I'm not coming to use these eyes to enjoy looking at the Lord, but I'm here so the Lord can see me.' And coming into the Dhāma in a similar mood. We're here for service. It's not for room service or receiving room service, but it's for being in the mood of how I can increase my affinity for devotional service. That is a kind of service where I can purify my heart of any extra things that have come along for the ride. Somehow or other, things just tend to jump on and go for a free ride until we come to the Dhāma and realize, 'Hey, get off of me. I didn't ask you to come along.' And Kṛṣṇa recognizes these attempts that we make to purify ourselves so that we can offer our hearts to Him.
