Today's topic is style for people using introverted thinking. Welcome to Episode 41 of the Signature Style Systems podcast, where I'm continuing a series on Myers-Briggs, cognitive functions, and how to use this system to create authentic style. (Prefer to read? Find this content on my blog: https://signaturestylesystems.com/introverted-thinking-style-cognitive-function-series/) I will explain the difference between introversion over all and using an introverted cognitive function, how introverted thinking can inform your signature style based on what position it occupies in your personality, and be sure to stay to the end for a ramble on a NEW connection I am making between Myers-Briggs, personal growth, and identity. What does it mean if your thinking is introverted? You must be a smart introvert, right? Not exactly! Some large percentage of Introverted Thinking users are actually extraverts. And, of course, thinkers and feelers can both be smart. “I thought I didn't have style but now I realize I just didn't know how to dress for my body type.” Women's bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and no two are alike. So it's no wonder than trying to dress like someone else can leave you feeling frustrated and feeling frumpy. What most women don't realize is that your body type has more to do with your style than you might think. In this episode I'm sharing how knowing this one key factor can affect your style in more ways than you can imagine, and how to leverage it to create our unique look. It runs June 4-6, 2024 https://stylefindersos.com/2024-signature-style-start-challenge/ Your body type affects your style in more ways that you might think. First, you need to know what your body type is. This is the starting point for knowing what works for you. Consider your shape. That's going to determine what silhouettes Fit and Proportion: Different body types have different proportions. For example, an hourglass figure might benefit from cinched waists to accentuate their curves, while a rectangle body type might use belts or contrasting colors to create the illusion of a waist. Clothes that fit well will always look more flattering, regardless of body type. Ill-fitting clothes can be uncomfortable and unflattering Highlighting Features: Certain clothing cuts can draw attention to your favorite features. For instance, someone with broad shoulders might choose a v-neck to elongate their neck, while someone with great legs might choose a skirt or shorts to show them off. Confidence and Comfort: Ultimately, feeling confident and comfortable in what you wear is the most important thing. If a certain style doesn't flatter your body type but makes you feel amazing, rock it! Beyond Body Type: Personal style goes way beyond body type. Consider your lifestyle, personality, and what makes you feel like you. Fashion is constantly evolving, and there are trends that flatter all body types. Experiment and find what works for you! The takeaway: Body type can be a starting point for exploring styles that flatter your proportions, but it shouldn't be a limitation. Embrace your unique shape, find clothes that fit well, and wear what makes you feel confident and like the best version of yourself.

Thousands of women around the globe are obsessed with finding their “Kibbe” type. About ten years ago, I went down the rabbit hole too and bought David Kibbe's Metamorphosis: Discover Your Image Identity and Dazzle As Only You Can. In this episode I rip a takeaway out of his system and relate it to how you can use separates strategically in your wardrobe. If you want to save yourself the HOURS women spend trying to decipher their Kibbe type, here's an alternative: you can do as one of my very first clients did. After I gave her her body type information and my recommendations, she asked me if I had any idea what her Kibbe type was. I was able to reverse engineer from my recommendations to a Kibbe type, which she resonated with but would never have gotten to using his methods. As women navigate different stages of life, growing in self-knowledge should mean getting dressed becomes easier. Your wardrobe should increasingly reflect your signature style. Welcome to Episode 29 of Signature Style Systems. In this episode, I have tips on growing in style as we age, inspired by the life of Iris Apfel, whose style transcended fashion. On request of a podcast listener, and in consideration of the world losing the fabulous Iris Apfel recently, today I'm talking about aging without losing YOUR style. In my philosophy, this shouldn't really be a thing because signature style is based on self-knowledge and the self-discovery journey is the journey of a lifetime. In other words, as you age, you should expect to grow increasingly stylish and in this episode I give you some practical how-tos! If you would like to suggest a topic, send email to hello@signaturestylesystems.com. Let's connect! Take the style personality quiz: What's Your Style Personality? Take the quiz here! Hello, my fabulous fashionistas! Welcome back to the "Fabulous Over Fifty" podcast! I'm your host, Jen Hardy, and let me tell you, today's episode with the divine Nancy Queen, the reigning monarch of minimalist wardrobes, was both enlightening and, dare I say, life-changing! She is the star of "Shopping on Champagne" on YouTube. Nancy opened up about her escapades in the fashion world, all from the comfort of her temporary East Coast command center, thanks to caring for her dad. And yes, despite the chaos, Nancy's surroundings were as stylish as the advice she dished out – No cluttered backgrounds or fashion faux pas in sight! Let's talk about the real runway show here: our closets. As we dove into the concept of capsule wardrobes, it became apparent that my own closet was the equivalent of ‘Where's Waldo?' – too many pieces with nowhere to be found purpose! Nancy's approach, by contrast, is like food shopping with a laser-focused grocery list – intentional, strategic, and leaving no room for those impulsive buys (looking at you, neon legwarmers from 1985). Her idea of "style words" and her passion for helping women find their personal fashion identity resonated with me; I could almost hear my eclectic collection of scarves sobbing as they realized their days were numbered. So sit back, or better yet, stand in front of your closet with a critical eye, and get ready to be inspired. Trust me, whether you're a seasoned fashion enthusiast or someone whose idea of a wild day is choosing the shirt that doesn't have coffee stains, this episode has something for everyone. Thank you for joining me today! I'm having a blast creating Fabulous Over 50 & it would be an honor to have you share it with someone who would enjoy it. Thank you! Want more? You can go to the website and you'll find many ways to live your best life over 50! I'd love to hear what you think about this episode & what you'd like to hear about in the future. HER Style Podcast | Buy Less, Shop Smarter, Build a Wardrobe You Love
Hey there! We are going back to the basics today, my friend! I want to revisit the topic of defining your signature style. This is the most critical first step in building a wardrobe you love. It's also an aspect of getting dressed that I see a lot of women struggling with. Rather than taking the time to self-reflect and figure out how we want our wardrobes to look and feel, it seems easier to copy everyone else's style. Or you might love so many different types of outfits and brands that you can't imagine narrowing your look down to one signature style. You don't want to feel limited, but right now your look is a little all over the place, you're chasing trends, and trying to keep up with what you're seeing on social media, and the whole thing feels super overwhelming! But guess what? It doesn't have to be. I have a simple, 4-Part Signature Style Framework that you can walk through when you take my FREE 5-Minute Personal Style Quiz. In today's episode, I'm going to help you see why your style is so important, review a couple of caveats you need to know before you take my quiz, and exactly how to combine your top 3 style type results to create a signature blend that captures you, your personality, and your preferences so completely it makes shopping and getting dressed easier than ever. Have you ever noticed that you tend to revert to certain color combinations? It may not be laziness or habit! It could be an expression of your personality. Today, I'm talking about color psychology, specifically color harmony psychology. I'll teach you how wearing various colors in combination can create specific effects and, more importantly, how to use color harmony to express who you truly are. The problem is too many women have forgotten how to feel comfortable in their own skin. I take you on a self-discovery journey, so you can show up confidently and contribute your gifts to the world. I've been chomping at the bit to answer today's Q&A Thursday question since it came in. It is SO, so good! Our friend, Therese, reached out to ask about the difference between having a signature silhouette (or style) and simply dressing the same all the time. And I think this is the most brilliant question. What IS the difference? How can you strike that delicate balance between having a dialed-in look and letting your look become played out? How do you stick to your style but still keep your wardrobe feeling fresh season after season? See? I told you! It's so good! And in today's episode, we're going to sort it all out. So let's jump right in and explore the difference so we can make sure your signature style feels more right than rut.
