Today we are going to talk about something big... boundaries. With summer in full swing, it's crucial that we understand our priorities, and get some boundaries in place for both life and business.  Boundaries are the most important thing that we can do for ourselves and our businesses to stay sane, avoid overwhelm, and take complete control of our time and energy sot that we can do everything we want to do. Setting boundaries with ourselves, our families, our children, our friends, AND our business are major boss lady goals. Today, we are going to focus on the biz boundaries, because as much as we want to be present with our families this time of year, the one thing we don't want to happen is to get off track in our businesses. Or, on the other hand, get stuck with our businesses consuming too much time. So let's get into how I set boundaries for my business. Especially Instagram… but really, just social in general. Everyone is trying to keep up with the trends, the influencers, create the perfect strategy, “beat” the algorithm… and at the end of it all, we end up losing ourselves trying to create this professional and trendy image. Oftentimes, we end up building our entire brand around who we think we need to be, which only holds us back! One thing that has always been super important to me is being REAL on social media, being vulnerable, being true to who YOU are, and building your entire brand around that… around YOU. This is such a scary thing for so many people, and so many people have a hard time wrapping their head around the idea of how this works. If you've been with me for a while, you've heard me talk about some of the objections I hear like: “But I'm building a business, I want people to see me as a professional”, or “what does my life have to do with what I'm selling”. A recent (favorite) objection I've heard was “I'm a professional building my business. I'm not going to plaster my page in puppies and babies because I'm here to build my business”... Yikes. For me, puppies and babies are a huge part of who I am! And that's how I've built my successful businesses. So, today we are going to get into a few tips to help you show up as who YOU are on social media AND continue to build the brand and business you've dreamt of! This usually happens to me when I'm feeling a little overwhelmed or on the road to burnout, when I'm trying something new and I feel out of my league, when I spend too much time scrolling, or for reasons that I don't even understand. Unfortunately imposter syndrome is something that affects many people (specifically women) and can really derail your boss lady mode, and quickly. Part of being a Boss Lady is believing in yourself… Even if you feel others don't believe in you. There is room for everyone at the table, and you may not see it now, but your unique experience makes what you have to offer different than anything that's been done before! … hear that again that again… It is time to stop comparing yourself to others and start realizing that as long as you stay authentic and true to who you are, no one can provide what YOU have to give! No one is a great as you! And you have something special to share with the world… whether you believe it all the time or not! Here are some tips I've found to help me when I'm facing the imposter in the mirror: Visualize Your Success Get Out Of Your Head Ditch The Idea Of Perfection Keep Learning Surround Yourself With Women You Can Relate To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone Accept That You Will Fail Luck didn't get you there, YOU did. And one of the things that we tend to use to measure our success in both business and motherhood is productivity. Raise your hand if your productivity has determined if you had a good or bad day based off of how many tasks were checked off your to-do list? It's what we have been groomed to do.
