Dr. G is a board-certified attending family physician and has identified the number one thing that leads to the best health and life outcomes for our kids: resilience. She works with parents to teach them the mindset and strategies to transform stress into a tool that builds mental health, confidence, and (most importantly) resilience in their kids. You might recognize Dr. G from the TODAY show, Good Morning America, and many other news programs. She is also a co-host and resident Resilience Expert for The Doctors, created and delivered two TEDx talks on the topics of stress and resilience and is frequently featured in the Washington Post, The New York Times, Forbes Magazine, Consumer Reports, and others. Needless to say, she knows this topic inside out. Today on the Divorced and Determined show, we are talking about healthy parenting with or without the other party involved. What can you do to better your children's lives and your life during and after divorce? What are the warning signs to be aware of? How can we be equipped to handle our children individually? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/kindra-renee/message

A weekend without expectations saved us all! While in Nashville, Indiana, we took a few minutes to share why we planned the weekend and what we got from it--besides lots of belly laughs. There was four of us women ranging in ages from 39-57 from Kentucky and Ohio who met in the middle to drink some wine, shop and have fellowship. This episode will share how having an unplanned, spur of the moment vacation is healthy for the soul. We had some commonalities such as we all have children, been in relationships (whether divorced or long-term marriages), some are grandparents and we are all faith-based. We specifically didn't talk COVID or politics because that is all we hear. To find out more about the kids consignment sales that Elaine mentioned, visit Pigtails and Cowlicks. Your self esteem starts with you, no one else. Mika Altidor learned this at an early age, as she was first generation American and spoke no English, but had to learn to adapt to school and make friends. She learned through self-reflection and creating a love for yourself by spending time alone. During her quiet time she exercised in nature, baked brownies and watched Bugs Bunny. As she grew she added in personal development studies from Napoleon Hill and Zig Ziglar and John Maxwell and implemented tactics she learned watching and reading "The Secret". Her development led to researching why her body was feeling the way it was, physically and emotionally, which in turn, led her to vegan eating. Now Mika is an entrepreneur, owner, baker, author and mentor.
