Sometimes informative. Sometimes controversial, but always unpredictable. Join your hosts Hunter, John and Stu every week with a new episode.

Hey gang, the Mirrorball Movie Cowboys return for their second episode in series one. On this one Stu and Mulder look at the not-very-well-known, but by no means less enjoyable film - Last Days of Disco. Another very lengthy discussion on this one, one that Stu had never seen, until now. How does it hold up 20 + years later? Is it the best in this trilogy? the worst or just kinda there? Listen on and find out. See ya next episode for 54
On this episode, Hunter and returning guest Eric Zaldivar put on another edition of Midnight Millennial Cowboys as they probe Glenn Danzig's weirdo vampire western Death Rider in the House of Vampires. Featuring the likes of Devon Sawa, Julian Sands (RIP), Eli Roth, Kim Director, Danny Trejo, and ol' Glenn himself, Death Rider is Glenn's follow up to his...interesting movie Verotika. How does this sophomore effort compare? Listen to find out.
Hey gang, a new episode for you all, but it's not an MMC one. As discussed before on an episode or two, Stu and Eric Mulder from Watch This Movie, are diving into the world of disco films. Now this episode, along with the next 2, were previously available on the Youtube channel ONLY. As that Youtube channel is basically dead, we decided to rejuvenate these episodes, that we felt were too good to go to waste. Mulder has done some editing on them, there's a funky intro and outro, and the sound has been cleaned up as best we can. Anyway enjoy this fairly in depth, and lengthy (pun intended) discussion on BOOGIE NIGHTS.
Hey gang, back with another episode. On this one, the 3 of us sit down to talk all things about the recently departed David Lynch. We talk his films, and all about him, oh and some other tangents in there as well, because you know, us staying on track a whole episode about one topic is near on impossible. Anyway, enjoy this one, it's a celebration of all things David Lynch
Hey gang, we are back with another new episode, two in two weeks - what's going on? Well as we said, we are back on a regular schedule. On this one, the 3 of us sit down to talk the new Hellboy film.... well sort of. There's about half Hellboy discussion, but once we got tired of that, we launch into about 30 odd minutes of wrestling talk, because, why not? It all makes for a fun listen anyway. Enjoy
Hey gang, we are back, all 3 of us, for the first time in a long time. On this one we all sit down and discuss the new Clint Eastwood film - Juror #2. Does Clint, who is now in his nineties, still have that Eastwood touch? Well the only way you are gonna know, is to listen on and find out. Whilst this is only an hour or so long, we are getting our footing again, or in layman's terms - we are rusty AF We also address why the heck we have been missing so long, and why 2024 was a year to forget in the history of the MMC. Oh and there are some tangents in there too - we gotta have them tangents. Enjoy.
Hey guys, Stu here. To ring in 2025, I have a bunch of bands - I dare say you have never heard - to ring your ears. On this episode, I highlight a bunch of bands that released, pretty much one or two pieces of platter.... and then disappeared. Some of the bands are new and up and coming, but the majority are now considered, lost to the annals of time. Over the last 18 months or so, I have become, pretty much obsessed with lost media, so ladies and gentlemen, here is a primer of 10 bands, of stuff you need to hear. The Midnight Movie Cowboys launches a new series of episodes where John Grace and Garo Nigoghossian discuss the overlooked gems from the Golden Age of Hong Kong Cinema. We kick it off with a review of the Stephen Chow 007 spoof FROM BEIJING WITH LOVE. With loads of inside stories and facts you won't hear on any blu ray commentary. The MMC once again brings you an informative and funny episode. Enjoy.
John Waters is back with his Pulitzer prize winning podcast! He's unleashing his razor sharp wit on Hollywood's newest films. Now more popular than Joe Rogan's podcast, John Waters is the daring and dangerous podcast host the world wants and needs. What does John talk about? Who chimes in with their thoughts and comments? You're just gonna have to listen on and find out.
John and Hunter are joined by Garo as they cover John Woo's remake of his own classic, "The Killer." Was this a bad idea? You probably know the answer already, but we discuss it anyway. We also discuss the ups and downs of Woo's career, his forgotten comedies, and why recapturing those glory days in Hong Kong is always out of reach.
John and Eric review the film and tv adaptations of legendary pulp writer Manly Wade Wellman. From TWILIGHT ZONE to NIGHT GALLERY to THE LEGEND OF HILLBILLY JOHN and even MONSTERS, the MMC has Manly's legacy covered. It's another insightful, funny and (dare we say) literary episode of the MMC.
Auxillary cowboy Eric Zaldivar has seen Kevin Costner's 3 hour but still incomplete epic in the theater. Midnight Movie Cowboy, John, has not. See if the latter can guess what goes on in the movie event of the summer without having seen a frame of it in this mini episode (which is considerably shorter than HORIZON). Enjoy
John Grace and Eric Zaldivar investigate Robert Mitchum's two film run as Phillip Marlowe in FAREWELL, MY LOVELY and THE BIG SLEEP. Why does it seem like Mitchum played two different characters? Is Michael Winner a good director? Which cult actress did Candy Clark dub in her most popular role? Can Kevin Costner revive the western genre with two long-ass movies? Did JK Rowling's Harry Potter books mind-rape Eric? These mysteries and more are solved in this hard-boiled episode Enjoy
Awhile ago, Hunter sat down with fellow millennials Eric Zaldivar and Zolly Becker for an episode looking back on the defining video game console of the 90s, the Nintendo 64. We look back at what made it special and unique, things about it that are criticized and/or misunderstood, and generally other things that the gen x and boomer types on the show just couldn't relate to, with their music that sounds like da Ramones and disco movies. This episode was recorded a few months back, so some references may be dated.
It's the one you've been waiting for! John, Garo and Stu review FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA. Will Stu hate it as much as he despises FURY ROAD? How many Paul Hogan jokes will Garo throw at Stu? All this and more on a very special, highly anticipated episode of the MMC. Enjoy
John Grace and Eric Zaldivar interview Steve Cattani, producer of the incredible 2016 documentary DECONSTRUCTING DUNNING. This criminally underseen film tells the story of Douglas Dunning, who is an "Act.Tor," a legendary figure of Hollywood Boulevard street culture, played a Klingon in Star Trek 6 and may or may not have been framed for terrorism. Steve reveals the shocking truth behind the scenes with exclusive stories about this long-in-the-making feature. Be sure to listen to the whole show (even during Stu's outro), so you can hear exclusive messages from Douglas Dunning himself! Enjoy
Hey guys, Stu here, the re-emergence of Stu's Views, no I'm not taking another break, I'm just bringing these back as a side piece for when I have something to say. On this one, I dig into the black market, with appropriately, a Black Sabbath box set that can only be found.... out there somewhere. I discuss what's in the box, the quality of it, and more importantly, nay, contentiously, should you buy it? Listen on, more of these to come in the very near future. Enjoy
Hey gang, yet another episode for you all to sink ya teeth in to (told we'd start cranking them out). On this one, Stu, John and Garo jump on over to the super awesome WATCH THIS MOVIE podcast, to join Mulder and Wolfie, to talk all things Rock n Roll High School, lazer craze boss and of course The Rammmooonnneeesss. 160 mins of mayhem, us MMC boys basically hijack the show, but fun was to be had all around. A big ol' thanks to Mulder and Wolfie for asking us to join them, this one is a ripper. Enjoy.
Hey fam, new episode for you, hot on the heels of our last few (we told you we would start cranking them out regularly) on this one, John and Garo react to a previous episode of the Midnight Millennial Cowboys, Explaining how, and why, Gen Xers responded to Star Wars Episode 1 the way they did. Was Laser Craze Boss really scared of Darth Maul? What was Garo's one black friend's contribution to the legacy of Jar Jar Binks? Listen and find out! Enjoy
We're back for another episode. On this one, John is joined again by Eric Zaldivar, to discuss the South Florida neo-noir picture DARKER THAN AMBER, starring Aussie bloke Rod Taylor as the O.G. Florida man Travis McGee. Very much the missing link between 60's action and 70's tough guy cinema, DARKER THAN AMBER is mostly known for a climactic, bone crushing fist fight but it has so much more to offer to the patient than that. So press "play" and find out what that is in the latest installment of The Midnight Movie Cowboys! Enjoy
Hey guys, Stu here. News flash and updates about what is happening with the podcast. Important news within so listen on.
We're back! This time with a loooooong episode. John is joined by Eric Zaldivar and Zolly Becker to discuss THE TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE (1983). A movie most people would have forgotten about had it not been for the infamous on set accident that took the life of three people and derailed a director's career ... or did it? And is famous Hollywood confectionist, Steven Spielberg, connected to the lethal catastrophe more than the official story has lead us to believe? And what of everybody's favorite internet punching bag, Kathleen Kennedy? What's she got to do with all this? Find out on your next stop to The Twilight Zone Enjoy
Hunter is once again joined for a Midnight Millennial Cowboys by Eric Zaldivar and Zolly Becker to mark the occasion of the re-release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in the theater. Here we look back at the cultural events surrounding its release, the ebb and flow of Star Wars in the culture, and how the film was George Lucas' final authentic expression as a filmmaker. No smarmy Gen X takes, no RLM nitpicking, just what Star Wars meant at the time in 1999.
Hey gang, we are back with a new episode, well, we aren't, but our newest affiliate is. Gang, we've been missing for a while because we have secretly been working on securing this gentleman to join our MMC network. It took a few months, but finally, we can announce that none other than John Waters himself has his own podcast right here on the MMC. You see we were contacted by Mr. Waters back in late 2023, he enjoyed our show and wanted to express himself with a new format besides film, when we suggested he start his own podcast - he was all for it. We offered to house the great man here and after a bit of back and forth, he accepted. So please welcome the legendary John Waters to the MMC. We think you'll love it. More regular MMC episodes are on the way, just sit tight For now though, sit back and enjoy Mr. John Waters, along with a few of his special guests.
The MMC return to true crime with the new Max documentary "They Called Him Mostly Harmless." The documentary explores the world of extremely online internet sleuths as they try to uncover the identity of a John Doe who died of starvation in the woods, who didn't seem to want anyone to know who he really was. John and Hunter talk about the weird world of internet detective wanna-be's, why hikers look like they're out of shape, and people who seek out intense situations.
Hey gang, we are back, well nearly all of us, for another All Filler, No Killer episode. On this one, Stu and John are joined by Garo, to discuss... whatever we wanted. None of this is planned, it is just a 2 hour talk about whatever. The usual rants are there - Politics, Bruce Lee, Wrestling, along with some other stuff. We will be back into the films next episode. For now though Enjoy.
John and Hunter ring in the new year with some wrasslin' kino as they dig in to Sean Durkin's "The Iron Claw," the film chronicling the triumph and many tragedies of the Von Erich wrestling dynasty. They discuss the movie, the accuracies and lack thereof, and the historical context for the film.
Hey gang, well after a horrifically long wait, we present to you, our Halloween episode.... recorded in November.... released just before Christmas. Anyway life has been at breakneck speed for some of us, hence why this episode of so so very late, but it's here now. On this one, the 3 of us sit down and discuss the Don Coscarelli horror favourite - Phantasm, no wait, isn't it The Never Dead? Depending on which part of the world you lived in, you knew it as either one or the other. This episode isn't very long (just over an hour) but it is crammed with al things Phantasm, the odd tangent is there, but that's to be expected. Anyway, again, apologies for the lateness of this. The MMC WILL be back in full swing in 2024, we just needed a break for a bit (hey we have been doing this 13 years, we do get tired ya know) Enjoy Have a Merry Christmas all, and a safe and Happy New Year The MMC
Hey gang, we are finally back with a new episode, and to help us out with our discussion, is returning guest and fellow wrestling mark - Wolfie T (From the excellent Watch This Movie podcast). We discuss the 2000 WCW produced film Ready To Rumble. A film maligned when it came out, unjustly possibly? Well we give our thoughts on it, and a whole bunch of wrestling tangents to boot. Anyway, again, apologies for the lateness, we are now back on normal scheduling, recording a new episode shortly. Enjoy Visit Wolfie at https://watchthismovie.podbean.com He is also on Twitter ... Hey gang, after an incredibly long time between episodes (blame Stu, it's all his fault) we are finally back, and there are a few things different at the MMC. All is explained within. On this one Stu and John do something the MMC has never done before in 13 years of the show - cover a Vincent Price film. No, we have never covered one - until now. We look at the this twisted tale of Dr. Anton Phibes in the first of the 2 Phibes films that we will be covering. This episode doesn't run too long, but there is no filler on this one (mostly) there is some Bruce Lee chat, but of course. Anyway, next time will not be so long between episodes, circumstances, with a dash of laziness is what has stalled this one, but it's here now. Get on it. Just in time for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Hunter and John are joined by Eric Zaldivar to discuss Cannon's Indy knock-offs, King Solomon's Mines and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold, starring Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone. We talk the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of these adventure movies, other Indy-inspired movies, and the legacy of the Indiana Jones films. Hey gang, we are back with a new episode for you, and on this one, it's all about SEX. Stu is joined by The Nes (Anthony Nesbitt) to discuss, the raunchy life and sad times, of Britain's first genuine sex star - Mary Millington. We discuss also the documentary, of which we drew information from, the excellent 2016 release - Respectable, The Mary Millington Story. Hope you guys like this one, we took a bit of turn in subject matter with this, but we think you'll find it interesting nonetheless. Hey fam, we are back with another episode, and joining us for this one is Eric Zaldivar. We look at the final 'real' Death Wish film in the series - Death Wish V. So, how bad is this film? Or does it stack up next to the others? Well, you'll just have to find out for yourself. Hey gang, we are back! After taking a month off (family life, work and a much needed break) we are back to talk all things Wrestling, with our main focus being, the 2005 WWE 'Documentary' - The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior. On this one, a very sick Stu and John, are joined (for the very first time on video anywhere) Wolfie T from the wonderful Watch This Movie podcast, to talk the one thing, the three of us love dearly - Wrestling. We talk, the territories of yesteryear, a multitude of various wrestlers, and of course Jim Hellwig AKA The Ultimate Warrior. We have got a few episodes already in the can, so the podcast will be back to normal resumption with this episode onwards. A big thankyou to Wolfie T for joining us. Hey Paesano's, we are back with a new episode. This week the 3 of us are joined by Super Millennial Bros. Eric Zaldivar and Zolly Becker, to discuss the 1993 super flop - Super Mario Bros. A film with a huge cult following, some of us love it, some of us do not. All of us offer our arguments for, and against it, because once you have seen this film, you cannot unsee it. So sit back, and listen on, as we discuss this much maligned film. Also, shout outs to the following podcasts, that we think you should check out. WTM Watch This Movie, featuring the great men Eric Mulder and Wolfie T. Find them at http://www.wtmwatchthismovie.com/wtm Also check out The Searchers podcast. What's happening gang? With the runaway success, and high praise that John Wick 4 is receiving worldwide, the 3 of us, along with friend and regular contributor Garo Nigoghossian, decided to sit down and discuss John Wick 4. As you know, we here at the MMC, do not tow the Hollywood line, so opinions on this may be not to everybody's satisfaction... or are they? To answer this question, you'll just need to listen on, and find out. Hi gang, well, finally, after over a dozen years, an MMC 'planned show' has been realized. One of the first episodes planned way back before we ever recorded anything (July 2010 to be exact), Stu wanted to do a retrospective look at the works of Kenneth Anger, and finally it is here. We are joined by returning guest (and Anger afficionado) Dan Seitler, to discuss Anger's films. From the bizarre to masochistic, and everything in between, it's all covered here. We want to thank Dan for coming on, had we done this episode way back when, it would not have turned out a fraction as good, or as informative as this one. Enjoy Donate to our show via the ko.fi link below https://ko-fi.com/midnightmoviecowboys Come join us on our discord server on the link below. https://discord.com/invite/bDeW3nF3WM?fbclid=IwAR0xfTlUR3GqlfCSL0uaRbtJDn70BITg5sV6ZGFXAZTQXwgTisDn6BEBtnY
Hey gang, we're back with a new episode, and well, it's an oddity for sure. On this one, we are joined by Eric Zaldivar to discuss, ummm.... whatever this thing - Tracy Zooms In - is. We talk all things Dick Tracy, Warren Beatty, and just for good measure, we go off on a bunch of tangents also. It all makes for good, humorous octogenarian, detective fun. What up friends? On this episode of the MMC, we delve into the world of Adult animation, with the cinematic adaptation of Heavy Metal. A bizarre film, made with a series of vignettes, of a mysterious orb named Loc-Nar. From there, it spins off into, well, various situations. Is it any good? Well, it's..... ah you're just gonna have to listen and find out. See you next episode. This week, John and Hunter explore the weird world of eighties anime imports under Roger Corman's New World banner. We look specifically at Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa, the version known as Warriors of the Wind in the west, as well as New World's bizarre version of Mamoru Oshii's Angel's Egg under the heading In the Aftermath. We also talk about the generation gap with Godzilla and Ray Harryhausen fans, Corman's shady business tactics, and changing attitudes towards anime over the decades.
Hey gang, this week, the 3 of us are losin' it, using it, and we're abusing it... south of the borderline. Oh yeah, this week, we are looking at the greatest Tom Cruise film of all time - Losin' It. Directed by L.A Confidential's Curtis Hanson, this mid 60's set tale, tells of Dave, Woody, Spider and Wimp (Wendell), and their goal to get into Tijuana, for both business, and especially pleasure. Sit back with us, as one of us has an affinity for these 80's teen comedies, the other 2... well, you'll have to find out if, the last word about the first time, firms up. Hey gang, we are back for the first episode of 2023 (well the first one featuring the 3 of us), to discuss the nearly 100 year old Buster Keaton classic - Sherlock Jr. As this film was raised late last year, we decided to cover it (seeing as one of us had never seen it or a Keaton film at all). As always, there is a myriad of tangents, the whip out your junk section returns, as does The Nes' 'RUE BRITANNIA' segment. See ya next episode, for a Tom Cruise classic (it isn't what you think it is) Enjoy Donate to our show via the ko.fi link below https://ko-fi.com/midnightmoviecowboys Come join us on our discord server on the link below. https://discord.com/invite/bDeW3nF3WM?fbclid=IwAR0xfTlUR3GqlfCSL0uaRbtJDn70BITg5sV6ZGFXAZTQXwgTisDn6BEBtnY
Hey gang, after a few weeks delay, the MMC, well the millennial member (Hunter) is, along with returning guest Eric Zaldivar, to discuss The Muppet Christmas Carol. This is episode is a few days late - i.e Post Christmas, but the spirit of Christmas is alive and well with this discussion. So on that note, whilst it is belated. This week, John and Hunter examine Blake Edwards' "Pink Panther" and how the heist movie evolved into a comedy detective series for Peter Sellers. Hey gang, apologies for the delay in this episode being released, issues have gotten in the way. Hey gang, welcome to our episode, out just in time for Halloween - NOT! Sorry for the lateness on this one, but life and stuff got in the way. Anyway, on this one, the three of us look at a Mike Hammer (a show that is an MMC favourite) episode, about satanism and murder!! What more of the plot? Not much, it's Stacy Keach as Mike Hammer, thats all you need. Stick around for a double dose of Nes' 'Rue Britannia' segment. Hey gang, we are back after a few weeks away from the mic (no, Rob Zombie didn't put out a hit on us). On this episode, Stu and Hunter, along with returning long term guest (and good friend of ours) Garo Nigoghossian, discuss the new Kevin Smith film - Clerks III. We discuss the film, if a part 3 (or 2 for that matter) was even needed. What things did Smith get right, and what did he get wrong. Not our longest episode, but an in depth discussion nonetheless. We also welcome back our whip out your junk section, and as always, stick around to the end for The Nes' segment 'Rue Britannia'. We'll be back with a new episode, sooner rather than later, one you can sink your teeth into. Hey gang, week 3 of Munsters Munth is here, and on this one, we look at the NBC 1981 made for TV movie The Munsters' Revenge. Made 15 years after the first run of Munsters TV and Film properties, this one is a polarising film, some folks absolutely love it, and some loathe it. What did we think of it? Well, you'll have to find out for yourself. There are tangents aplenty in here, also we expose an MMC favourite, who has been constantly asked about for years. See you next week for the finale of Munsters Munth, and the four of us, FINALLY get to review, what we've been micro-analysing for the last year and a half - Rob Zombies' 'The Munsters'. Enjoy. Hey gang, week 2 of Munsters Munth is here, and we are joined once again, by Garo Nigoghossian. So you know darn well, this episode is NSFW. On this one, we look at the coda to The Munsters era of the 1960's - Munster, Go Home! The big screen debut of Herman, Lily, Grandpa, Eddie and Marilyn.... and oh boy is there a LOT of Marilyn in this one. As always, there are tangents, and the usual banter about Rob Zombie too. Warning, a couple of conversations HAD to be censored. We couldn't release it uncut, and it would have been too jarring to remove the conversation altogether. Catch you all next week, for week 3 of Munsters Munth, where we discuss the 1981 made for TV movie - The Munsters Revenge. Enjoy.
