The Uncanny is a 1977 British-Canadian anthology horror film directed by Denis Héroux, written by Michel Parry, and starring Peter Cushing, Donald Pleasence, Ray Milland, Joan Greenwood, Donald Pilon, Samantha Eggar, and John Vernon.   Although it is similar to the horror anthologies released by Amicus Productions and could be mistaken as one, it was actually distributed by The Rank Organisation. However, the co-producer was Milton Subotsky of Amicus.   Cat's Eye (also known as Stephen King's Cat's Eye) is a 1985 American anthology horror thriller film directed by Lewis Teague and written by Stephen King. It comprises three stories, "Quitters, Inc.", "The Ledge", and "General". The first two are adaptations of short stories in King's 1978 Night Shift collection, and the third is unique to the film. The three stories are connected only by the presence of a traveling cat, which plays an incidental role in the first two and is a major character of the third.   Its cast includes Drew Barrymore, James Woods, Alan King, Robert Hays and Candy Clark.   Opening Credits; Introduction (1.00); Background History (41.36); The Uncanny (1977) Trailer (42.08); Feature Presentation (44.37); Let's Rate (1:21.14); Introducing the Second Feature (1:35.49); Cat's Eye (1989) Trailer (1:37.12); Lights, Camera, Action (1:38.34); How Many Stars (2:08.26); End Credits (2:26.00); Closing Credits (2:27.28)   Opening Credits– Epidemic Sound – Copyright . It starred Rajkummar Rao of the Oscar nominated film The White Tiger, with co-stars Bo Derek and Candy Clark, and played in 52 countries. Her latest animated children's horror shorts that she sold to DreamworksTV are on Peacock's streaming series Spine Chilling Stories. She sold a live action short, The Fountain, to Disney, her horror short, Imaginary Friends, was produced by Raving Eejit Entertainment, and did the festival circuits. Her comedy short, Things Look Grim was produced by Sasha Goldberg. She and her writing partner Johnny Harrington have a sitcom about Denise's crazy family that's Mexican on one side and Jewish on the other that's currently in development. She's getting ready to go into production to direct her first short in 2023 for a strong female lead dramedy. Her scripts have placed in Final Draft Big Break, Fade-In Screenwriting and Nicholl's Fellowship contests. 5 Weddings follows an American journalist, who travels to India to cover Bollywood weddings. Interwoven with the joy and fun of these traditional ceremonies, the film goes beyond the fluff -- to explore the human component of Hijras: a sect of transgender dancers who have been an integral part of Indian weddings for centuries.

Before George Lucas launched the Star Wars Universe in 1977, he directed the coming-of-age comedy-drama American Graffiti. Produced by Francis Ford Coppola, the film revolves around various early rock ‘n' roll cultures that helped define a generation. Gearheads often swoon for this memorable film as it features plenty of gorgeous hot rods that any collector would love to have in their garage.American Graffiti is written by Willard Huyck, Gloria Katz, and Lucas and features an eclectic cast of young actors, including Richard Dreyfus, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Harrison Ford, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Suzanne Somers, Kathleen Quinlan, Bo Hopkins, Wolfman Jack, and more. The film takes audiences back to 1962 when teenagers owned the night, and Johnny Law was no match for a group of miscreants looking to cause mischief. Set to a soundtrack that features musical acts like Buster Brown, The Platters, Chuck Berry, and The Heartbeats, American Graffiti presented an ideal environment for teens. The film created a Neverland environment for curfew-defying hooligans and acted as pure nightmare fuel for square parents. Join us as we discover what the f@%$ happened to one of Lucas's earliest films before he became the founder of the most celebrated sci-fi universe of all time.

But the truth is the coldness that comes from being frightened by King…is nowhere to be found in Stephen King's Cat's Eye unless you're a smoker, afraid of heights, or a six year old child. But even given the lack of King tropes, and the advent of dark comedy in the Lewis Teague directed film, does it make for a bad viewing experience? What fun and gorgeousness! Time flew with two-time Emmy-nominated actress, Lee Purcell, and, world's collided all over the place. It is a small world, after all. From her runway days at three (I know!), Native American ancestry, multi-generational military mantle, to dancing, singing, regional TVing', Lee went on to best 500 hopefuls, handpicked by Steve McQueen hisself (who mentored Lee in all things life, career & fitness––sweet surprise story there), to co-star with Kirk's son, fairly green, Michael Douglas. Lee later co-starred with Kirk, and they're not her only father/son dynasty co-stars. Not a bad place to start. Follow that teaming with Orson Welles, earning an Emmy nomination alongside Mark Harmon, and then another co-starring with Beau Bridges, and father Lloyd. In fact, Lee had lots of Bridges. Hysterical. Old friends with Jeff and his later girlfriend, Candy Clark, well, there are stories then and now, there, too. There's Malcolm McDowell, Chadwick Bostwick, Jon Voight, a brand spanking new, Nicolas Cage, in Valley Girl (his first feature film), and that's barely scratching the Lee Hollywood leading men, surface. The most guest-starring roles on Murder She Wrote, and loads of other TV appearances, cross-genres. We talked fabulous friends, Donny Most, Anson Williams, Geri Jewell, Roslyn Kind, Joey Travolta, and his important inclusion film, Carol of the Bells, and the wondrous Donna Pescow––how we connected, and how those soul sisters found each other and just knew. What a delightful, easy, breezy sit down with this stunning, age-defying beauty, who managed to manifest her dreams and continues to do so. Looking forward to her upcoming, Chocolate Is Not Better Than Sex. You're telling me. On this show, our specialty is sequels, sequels, and more sequels. From the good ones, to the bad ones, to the really ugly ones, we'll be covering them all! We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more. For our 9th episode, we have chosen a real stinker in the 1983 flop "AMITYVILLE 3D". Directed by Richard Fleischer (Red Sonja, Soylent Green, Conan The Destroyer, Mr. Majestyk), this sequel to the popular and profitable Amityville Horror series would be the last theatrical chapter. This 3D 'epic' stars Tony Roberts (Popcorn, Serpico) as a reporter who buys the infamous Amityville house only to find out the tales of the evil and supernatural are true. Co-starring Robert Joy, Meg Ryan, Lori Loughlin, Candy Clark, and some of the most infamously bad 3D effects you'll ever witness. Join Cameron Scott and his returning co-host, Eric Phillips, on an adventure through the Amityville legends that begs the question...just how scary are the 'sky raisins'.

If you're anything like the Mutiny of Preverts crew, and you've spent decades watching and appreciating all the great cinema of the world, there is one question you find yourself returning to time and again: What exactly does it look like when Rip Torn has vigorous, athletic coitus with a coed? Well,  lucky for you the films of Nicolas Roeg have the answer. And they also have the answer to similar copulatory questions about Donald Sutherland, Julie Christie, Theresa Russell, David Bowie, Candy Clark, James Fox, Mick Jagger, Rutger Hauer... We could go on. Despite the wealth of boning related topics, Azed, Jay and unofficial third host Omar Majeed also make time to discuss many of the formal and thematic elements of Roeg's films that make him one of the all time great directors. Azed, in particular, makes an astute connection between Roeg's fragmented visual and auditory style and the deeply alienated and traumatized characters that inhabit his films that you will not want to miss.

I’ve been a candy fan all my life, I’ve been a Candy Clark fan almost as long. Her Academy Award Nominated performance as Debbie Dunham in American Graffiti is unforgettable. We started with a few tech issues. It was worth the little time and frustration for the great stories and fun which followed. We talked vaccines, pandemic protocols, adjusted living, shopping, eating, to making new friends in th midst of it. Candy's got her neighbors, I've got the COVID crazies. We touched on the lunacy but focused on hope. Candy walked us through her humble beginnings in Texas, where her life’s ambition was to be a secretary/ receptionist. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Modeling brought her to NY for a visit. Before touching down she decided to stay. With $40 in her pocket, she made it work. Her acting career began with director John Houston, opposite Stacy Keach and Jeff Bridges, who became her live-in boyfriend. All while she was insisting, “I just want to be an extra!” Words no one else has said, ever. There’s the whole American Graffiti story––she told us all about it, from audition to shoot, to Oscar nomination, to the red carpet with her beau Jeff, to the reading of her category. Fab! We started to talk about Bowie and The Man Who Fell To Earth, but we'd been yakking a good while, and Candy wisely decided to save it for next time. So.... stay tuned for Part 2. Candy's one of my favorite people to run around with… been missing her muchly. It was so great to see her GORGEOUSNESS and ketchup. Such fun in the time of corona. Sans the beer. In 1974 Tatum O’Neal became the youngest recipient to win a competitive Academy Award for a Supporting Role in the movie classic, Paper Moon. Frankly I find it confusing she won for supporting as she is very clearly the lead of the film but ANYWAY - Madeline Kahn was rightfully nominated for the correct category but Tatum was victorious. Linda Blair was nominated for a little movie called The Exorcist, perhaps you remember from your childhood nightmares? Sylvia ‘Juno Your Case Worker!’ Sidney was nominated for Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams and Candy Clark for American Graffiti. Who do you think should have won? Happy 75th birthday, Loni Anderson! To celebrate, we’ve reviewed THE PRICE SHE PAID (1992), starring the lovely and unparalleled Loni along with Candy Clark and Tony Denison. Lacey (Anderson) is a woman who became pregnant as a result of aggravated rape and kept the child. Twelve years later, the allegedly rehabilitated felon, Keith (Denison), is out on parole. Not only does he attempt to reconnect with Lacey and befriend those closest to her, he also has been granted legal visitation rights with their son. Has Keith truly reformed? Or is this just a meticulous plot to exact revenge, cold dish style? We also discuss the concept of rehabilitation; can it be achieved with incarceration or is that merely punishment? Additionally, we dispel the “Greeks love Windex” myth and learn why David Cross HATES Rachel (or do we?) Also, this particular episode is why Stephanie is no longer allowed to drink White Russians while recording (drink anytime she bungles a word and soon you won’t be able to speak coherently either!) The podcast may be free of charge, but don’t pay the price of missing this one! This movie can be viewed on YouTube. Trigger alert: This episode discusses sexual assault. Candy Clark:  Actress – Movie American Graffiti (1973)By Team Cars of CarlisleWednesday, May 27, 2020 Today, meet Hollywood actress, Candy Clark, who was a key cast member in a memorable car movie franchise.  Join in as we speak with Ms. Clark, who earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in her role as Debbie Dunham in the 1973 classic American Graffiti and later teamed up with fellow cast members in the 1979 sequel, More American Graffiti. In the original film – co-written by George Lucas – Candy plays Debbie, the girl that Terry “Toad” Fields drives around in the 1958 Chevy Impala owned by Steve Bolander (played by Ron Howard).   To this day, Candy knows cars; she has kept tabs on those iconic vehicles that co-starred with her back in 1973.  Think back to that chromed -out Impala…that canary yellow 1932 Deuce Coupe (driven by Paul Le Mat, as John Milner)…the tricked-out, big-block ’55 Chevy (driven by Harrison Ford, as Bob Falfa), and the ’56 T-Bird (driven by Suzanne Somers, as the mysterious blonde).  It’s time to drift back in time to August 1962, to that fictitious night in Southern California when a group of teenagers experienced music, pranks, cruising, drag racing, and life decisions.

In a world full of remakes and reboots, 1988’s THE BLOB holds strong as one of the best. I love surprises. I’m not sure I’ve ever been more thrillingly unprepared for the fabulousness that was about to unfold. Fleaxatarian (he ‘splains), actorvist, Esai Morales, is a revelation. I knew I adored his work from Bad Boys, La Bamba, NYPD Blue, to Ozark, with so much fineness in between… but it’s the man––the human––the passionate, quite brilliant, committed, inspiring, humble, real, self-aware, loving, sensitive soul, who blew me away. For 2 hrs and 16 min, Esai was spellbindingly entertaining, informative, enlightening, and gottdamned exciting, I don’t need to mention easy on the eyes… isn’t it just a ridiculous given? For the first 30 minutes we’re mostly in a Facebook Live blur, and for another 3 minutes or so, the audio is compromised as we were firsting with our brand spanking new Blue Raspberry mic, and didn’t quite know how to set it. Sorry about that, chief. The remaining hour and 50 min are as smooth as Easi. He's so worth struggling through the first 30 for. We talked growing up in Brooklyn, the Bronx, his union activist mother setting the stage; starting out as a Mexican Jumping Bean, to The Sound of Music, The High School of Performing Arts, managing a building for free rent, scraping pennies, to co-starring with Sean Penn in Bad Boys and going to the movies with him, watching him see himself on the big screen in Fast Times at Ridgemont High; being wanted to play Ritchie Valens, but choosing to play Bob. Loving him, and all of his characters, finding the good, the humanity, their worth, even drug kingpin, Del in Ozark––a role he earned the hard way, working for it. What an inspiring story that is. We talked a little politics (go Marianne Williamson!), vaccines, Alzheimer’s, John Lennon, The Beatles, our friend Mitch Weissman, the original fake Paul in Beatlemania, who, Esai promised to come sing Beatles with at Women Who Write. There were nods to Lance Simmens, Tai Babilonia, Liberty Devitto, Candy Clark, Burt Young… we talked faith, and Esai’s proclamation: “Don’t let failure define you, let it refine you.” How I love that. And him. When he did his 4 Hispanic Hs, and the lines which separate Chicano from Nuyorican-well, it’s a blast. I loved every second, even if he isn’t the Esai who matched with me on Tinder 4 yrs ago… that story too. I could have sat there for another 2 hrs, and still have begged for more. We still talking Game Changers? I digress.. we did quite a bit of that as well. Above all that, come for the fun, the tears, the love. So much of all of the above. If you're new to the podcast, Corey (@coreyrstarr) and Jonathan (@berkreviews) both realized they had a ton of movies they'd never seen, but really wanted to knock off their gap list. In an effort to work through their respective lists, they started this podcast to ensure they at least check one new film off the list almost every week. Thus, for a film to qualify for Movie Club one or both of them have to have never seen it or at least not seen it for a long time. They also thought it would be more fun to create themes from which they can choose their movies for each episode. Each episode features an in-depth review of the movie for the week initially spoiler free and then diving in completely after a spoiler warning. Before getting into the review Jonathan and Corey discuss what other movies they've seen since the last episode as well as anything else they feel like discussing. Theme for January 2019: Out of this World For a movie to qualify for this months theme it must feature some element of alien life coming to Earth or people leaving on a trip in space. While Corey and Jonathan have seen many movies that could qualify, there are still some big ones they have missed. Week 1: The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) Corey selected the first movie on 2019 and it features the Star Child himself, David Bowie. The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) is directed by Nicolas Roeg and stars David Bowie, Rip Torn, and Candy Clark. Neither Jonathan nor Corey had seen this film, but both were excited to see what it was. An exciting and eye-opening BEHIND THE LENS as we span the globe exploring cultures and historical events thanks to our special guests, LEON LEE and NAMRATA SINGH GUJRAL, plus our exclusive interview with writer/director AMMA ASANTE. We kick off this episode of #BTLRadioShow with our exclusive interview with writer/director AMMA ASANTE who talks about her latest film, the emotionally powerful WHERE HANDS TOUCH. Set in 1944 Germany, Asante explores an oft-overlooked part of World War II history – the Rhineland Bastards, the name given by the Nazis to those of mixed race. Another part of Hitler's "cleansing", Asante sets the stage and brings us into time and place with a love story between a young girl of mixed parents named Leyna, and Lutz, one of the exuberant Nazi Youth and son of a famed member of the Nazi military regime. Listen as Asante talks about her approach to telling this story from the visual immersion to the emotional resonance, the contemporary relevance of the film today, and shooting at a former concentration camp. Moving from 1944 Germany to present-day China, Peabody Award winner and filmmaker LEON LEE takes us deep into the story of Sun Yi, a man held prisoner in the Masanjia Labor Camp, with his powerhouse documentary, LETTER FROM MASANJIA. Hiding a note inside a Halloween decoration (a headstone, no less) made in the prison for shipment to the United States for sale in a K-Mart store, Sun Yi begged the finder of the note to contact human rights organizations and alert them to the abuse and torture at Masanjia. Luckily for Sun Yi, in 2012 Julie Keith of Oregon opened up the Halloween decorations she had purchased two-years earlier and found the note. Lee, an authority on China, takes us down the rabbit hole and into Sun Yi's experiences and persecution for his involvement with Falun Gong, a spiritual group founded on the moral philosophies of truth, compassion and tolerance. Filmmakers will be amazed to learn of the lengths Lee had to go into order to make this film as he is not allowed to enter China, and Sun Yi, on his release from Masanjia could not leave the country. A fascinating conversation. And then we welcome acclaimed writer/director and President of Uniglobe Entertainment, NAMRATA SINGH GUJRAL, talking about her new film 5 WEDDINGS! A cultural explosion showcasing the beauty and wonders of India set against a fictional story of a magazine journalist seeking the Editor-In-Chief position which will be determined by the quality of this unique assignment, Gujral's enthusiasm about the film is palpable as she talks about its structure, deciding on the weddings to focus upon (there are 15 different types of weddings in India), including the Hijara as an important part of the film, focusing on the relationships of fathers & daughters, true love, tradition, working with her cinematographer Christo Bakalov, casting Bo Derek and Candy Clark, the importance of authentic casting, and advice for filmmakers about finding your target audience. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

DVD/Blu Ray-Release: 18.11.2016 (Arthaus / Studiocanal) The man who fell to earth Science Fiction, Drama Land: Großbritannien 1976 Laufzeit: ca. 138 min.
