203. Redefining Productivity for Entrepreneurs with Neill Williams

The Masterful Coach

When we think about better time management and how to increase productivity, it's tempting to believe that if we could perfectly color-code our calendars or find the best scheduling hack, all the overwhelm and stress would disappear. Those of us who have tried those methods time and again, yet still feel overworked and frustrated, know they're not the quick fix we want them to be. Here's the good news: increasing productivity gets easier when you embrace holistic time management and accept yourself right where you are.In this episode, I'm thrilled to bring you an incredible interview with productivity coach Neill Williams. Neill is a Master Coach who specializes in helping female entrepreneurs improve productivity, efficiency, and performance, and she hosts the podcast, Success Genius. She is an advocate for taking care of yourself and building a business that truly supports you. You'll love her insights on how to increase productivity in a way that aligns with the life you want to create. One of the things I admire most about Neill's approach to productivity is how she focuses on its connection to science and physiology. Productivity isn't just about the clock—your mind, body, and emotions play a huge role in your time management. When we force ourselves to stick to a calendar or use external tools to fit the mold of productivity, we reinforce patterns of overworking and stress. Neill invites you to accept the unique state of your body, mind, and emotions to unlock a new kind of productivity–one that actually works for you.The most important factor in increasing productivity is taking into account what's happening inside of you–embracing it as part of your efficiency power, rather than something that's wrong with you. I'm so glad you're here with me to discover a new way forward. Let's do it!What you'll learn:The powerful impact of the nervous system on productivity and performanceWhat to do when your physiology doesn't match the plan you made on your calendarHow your “body budget” impacts focus and efficiencyExamples of tools to use to calm your nervous system and increase focusWhy slowing down can actually increase productivityYou can read the full show notes here.About Neill Williams Neill Williams is a Master Certified Life Coach, productivity expert, and host of the "Success Genius" podcast. After burning out as a corporate actuary working 60-80 hour weeks, Neill discovered how to leverage neuroscience and circadian rhythms to build successful coaching practice working just 10 hours per week. Diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases, Neill dove deep into the intersection of biology and productivity, creating the revolutionary 10-Hour Week Method that helps entrepreneurs get 40 hours of results in just 10 hours. As a mom, wife, and entrepreneur managing health challenges, Neill understands the reality of wearing multiple hats. Her evidence-based approach combines cutting-edge research with practical tools, helping ambitious women integrate work and well-being to achieve more while sacrificing less.Website: https://neillwilliams.com/ Podcast:

Today on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of separating ourselves from bad influences. As followers of Christ, it’s crucial to surround ourselves with a community of fellow Christ-followers, as being surrounded by a worldly community can significantly influence our walk with Christ. We see this affirmed in 1 Kings 12, where we see how a young king, Rehboam, took the advice of bad influencers, and it led to destruction. We then turned to the phone lines to hear stories about good and bad influences from our listeners. Then we had Dr. Geoff and Cyd Holsclaws join us to talk about the intersection of faith, neuroscience, and spiritual formation. The Holsclaws are hosts of the podcast Attaching to God and wrote the book, “Landscapes of the Soul: How the Science and Spirituality of Attachment Can Move You into Confident Faith, Courage, and Connection.” Dr. Geoff has also authored several other books and is a visiting professor of theology at Western Theological Seminary. At the same time, Dr. Cyd is a Spiritual Director and a trauma-informed, Jesus-centered, professional certified coach with the International Coaching Federation. Have you heard about tantra, but assumed it was all about sex? Same here. But after this conversation with certified Tantra educator Dominique D'Vita, I realized I had it all wrong. In this episode, Dominique completely debunks the common myths about tantra and reveals how it can be a powerful path to nervous system regulation, deeper intimacy, and even greater vitality, especially in midlife. We explore: Why tantra is often mistaken for just “better sex” How tantra can help you reconnect to your body and life force The real reasons we carry so much shame around self-pleasure Why women in midlife may be craving more intimacy, and it's not just physical What the heck a soulgasm actually is (and how it feels) Dominique D'Vita is a Registered Nurse, Certified Tantra Educator, and trauma-informed Master Coach who helps women reconnect to their bodies, activate their pleasure, and live a more vibrant, turned-on life especially during perimenopause and menopause. She was working as a nurse for decades helping save lives, and then after her own encounter with a tantric lover, she realized that too many women were surviving but not truly living. Although she helps women in midlife to reignite their sensual energy, her program and practice is very much about helping us regulate our nervous system, and harness pleasure as a form of medicine to boost vitality, intimacy, and joy. For something that touches every one of us, many people still feel grief-illiterate. Whether it's impacting someone close to you or your entire community, it can be difficult to figure out what to say or how to offer support. In light of the recent flooding in Texas, I wanted to have a heartfelt conversation about collective grief, the grieving process, and what it truly means to show up for others in both the short and long term.I'm honored to have my client and Master Coach, Margo Fordonski, join me to offer her wisdom surrounding the grieving process. Margo is a trained grief educator who brings her professional insight and her personal experience with grief to this topic. We discuss how grief affects us individually and collectively, and how we can support one another when the unexpected happens. In this episode, you'll hear about specific ways to support someone who is grieving, how to offer help in the midst of collective grief, and why it's never too late to reach out—whether the loss happened recently or many years ago. Grief is hard, and many of us are afraid to say or do the wrong thing. Because of this, we often end up doing nothing at all. However, the more we normalize this universal, human experience, the more we can understand how to navigate grief and to support others. What you'll learn:The ripple effects of community tragedy and collective griefWhy every grief experience looks different–and grieving never has a deadlineThree specific tips for how to support someone who is grieving in the early stagesHow to be a steady presence for someone after a loss in the long-termWhy small actions—a text, sharing a photo, using their loved one's name—can help support someone who is grievingYou can read the full show notes here.About Margo FordonskiMargo Fordonski is a Master Certified Life Coach, Certified Grief Educator, and a twice-bereaved parent. After losing both of her children—most recently her son Andrew, who lived with brain cancer for 24 years—Margo has walked the long, complex path of grief firsthand. Her personal journey led her to a powerful calling: to support other mothers navigating life after the unthinkable. Margo helps grieving moms find peace, resilience, and renewed hope—not by “moving on,” but by learning how to carry their grief with love. Her 1:1 coaching approach is deeply personalized, meeting each mother where she is with compassionate guidance and tools that support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and holistic healing. She guides her clients in healing at their own pace, rediscovering who they are now, and gently rebuilding a life that honors both their child and their continued growth. Her work is trauma-informed, heart-led, and rooted in the belief that grief is not something to fix—it's something to tend to with care, courage, and support. Three Powerful Quotes: [00:18:17] “Everybody's looking at you because they want to be like you… And I said, that's really odd because I'm looking at all of you and you've got everything that I want.” [00:34:28] “What you see is what you get… There's no jargon. There's no bias. And that's direct. I hope it's authentic because it's authentic to me.” [00:53:18] “We die once. We live every day… Every day's an adventure. What are we going to do today? Whose life are we going to improve today?” About the Guest:   Andrew Bird, CEO of W A Chump and Sons, is a trailblazer in authentic, values-driven leadership. With a career spanning banking and consultancy, Andrew once wore a “perfectionist mask,” climbing corporate ranks as the youngest branch manager and area manager while hiding his true self.   His “enough moment” came in India, where a community's joy despite poverty inspired him to quit banking and reject conformity. Now, Andrew leads W A Chump and Sons, a company focused on delivering outcomes, not time, with a strict values charter excluding industries like weapons and mining.   His journey from burnout to fulfilment resonates with the “silent middle”—leaders quietly struggling under pressure. Burnt out from pretending to be someone you're not?   This episode of The Leader Unmasked is your wake-up call. Host Angela Cox, a Master Coach for Executives and Founder of Paseda360, sits down with Thera Prins, CEO of Equiniti, who broke free from the shackles of conformity. Thera shares her journey from dull navy suits and suppressed vibrancy in banking to rediscovering her "colour" after devastating setbacks, redundancy at Lloyds and a marriage breakdown. [00:04:51 - 00:06:17] The Enough Moment: Thera recounts her devastating redundancy at Lloyds and personal collapse, which forced her to confront how conformity led to a loss of authenticity and happiness. [00:08:17 - 00:08:53] Becoming a Role Model: Thera reflects on the shift from emulating others to being a role model by leading authentically, inspiring others to do the same. [00:35:10 - 00:45:23] Staying Visible in Midlife: Thera discusses staying visible as a woman in midlife by rejecting corporate constraints and embracing her energy, wisdom, and authentic leadership. Three Powerful Quotes: [00:06:18] “I slowly separated myself from the true person that I am… My mum would say to me, ‘You've lost your color.'” [00:06:39] “The big turning point for me was, well, you know, sod all this… I'd spent all this time adjusting to what I thought everybody else expected of me.” [00:45:23] “I've got nothing to lose anymore… I've got all that learning and all that confidence, plus a big network of people that I love. So let's go and do something good with it.” About the Guest: Thera Prins, a dynamic CEO, embodies the power of authentic leadership after a transformative journey through corporate conformity. With a career spanning banking and leadership roles, Thera once molded herself to fit expectations—wearing "boring" navy suits and suppressing her vibrant personality to climb the ranks. Her story resonates with the "silent middle"—leaders quietly struggling under pressure, offering hope and strategies for resilience. Let me start with a confession - at times I've found being a tennis parent challenging! The trials and tribulations of the ‘performance' tennis journey have surprised and at times shocked me. So three experts coming together to create an online course that aims to help tennis parents navigate a positive path through the journey has to be a good thing! That's exactly what Dr Liya Jacob (wellness coach and tennis parent), Chris Johnson (Level 5 Master Coach) and Ellie-Rose Griffiths (former GB jnr no.1) have done.An online course called Winning Tennis Parents full of helpful information and tips to help parents help themselves and their players. The course is live now and costs £49.99 - less than a pair of new tennis shoes or a couple of individual lessons!I found this episode and the course mega useful and I hope you will too!The episode is really a taster for the course and after listening I'd really encourage you to go that one step further and enrol on the course. I've gone through the course and all the materials and it is excellent. Do you struggle with accepting money and embracing financial abundance in your business? For heart-centered coaches especially, navigating wealth can be a challenging task. Even though you are highly skilled and passionate about cultivating lasting change in your clients, you may feel limited by a lack of confidence around money or the negative connotations often associated with it. Maybe you know you deserve more financial freedom, but no matter how hard you hustle or how many numbers you crunch, you are not getting to where you want to be financially. Almost every business owner struggles with money at some stage. But here's the truth: Money is not the villain; it's a vital force that supports us in achieving our goals and empowers us (and those around us) to thrive in our zones of genius. While business tools and strategic planning can lead to greater financial success, manifesting wealth begins within ourselves. A spiritual money mindset is the key to being genuinely open to receiving the abundance you seek. I'm thrilled to explore the connection between financial abundance and spirituality today with Master Coach Jamie Berman. Not only do I admire Jamie so much as a human being, but we are aligned in how we approach supporting clients through change. Jamie blends everything from mindset and the nervous system to psychology and spirituality into one place for growth and expansion--she helps her clients step into the person they want to be and the business they want to have. You'll hear about Jamie's transformational journey with money and how a spiritual money mindset will help you open up financially and feel more powerful as a human being, a coach, and a business owner. There is truly something for everyone in this episode.Manifesting wealth starts with the inner work you're willing to do around money. You have the power to create what you want–when you tap into your spirituality and develop your understanding of how money intertwines with your life, you can accept the wealth coming your way. After all, you can't run a business without money, and your business is what allows you to reach and uplift more people while doing what you love.Whatever your less-than-desirable money-related behaviors are–whether it's lack of money, hoarding of money, or anything else coming up–caring for our fears and a commitment to healing is the solution. Your relationship with money is multifaceted, and a more positive experience is possible for you. I can't wait for you to hear all about it!What you'll learn:How a spiritual money mindset helps coaches manifest wealthHow being with your emotions will expand your capacity to receiveWhy associating money with greed or power has more to do with our fears than realityAn exercise to help you understand the positive ripple effect money has in the worldWhy healing your relationship will enhance your journey as an entrepreneurRead the full show notes here.About Jamie BermanJamie Berman is a master certified coach with a background in Spiritual Psychology. 188. Moving Clients Through Deep Emotional Resistance with Master Coach Sondra Sperry

The Masterful Coach

Some of the most impactful moments in coaching occur when a client bumps up against resistance. Have you noticed this too?!... It can often seem like more of a barrier when our clients experience emotional resistance. However, highly skilled coaches (like my Master Coach client Sondra who you'll hear from in this week's podcast) know that resistance is actually a sign that transformation is near. As Master-level coaches, we can use this as a tool to help our clients move forward in the most powerful way. When we recognize it with curiosity and compassion, resistance becomes a powerful ally in the healing process. Not only is understanding emotional resistance important for our clients, but it's essential for us as coaches as well. In order to lead with great service and cultivate lasting change in our clients, we need to overcome the barrier of self-judgment and truly be open to a holistic approach to coaching–the importance of which becomes so much more clear when we have experienced it ourselves. In this blog (and this week's podcast episode), we'll explore how emotional resistance offers valuable insight, and how creating a safe, welcoming space allows clients to move through it with confidence and clarity. When we can master the art of navigating deep resistance we create client breakthroughs that make an impact on their lives.Effective emotional work begins with you as a coachFrom creating an effective plan of action to offering tools clients can use in daily life, there is one thing that is crucial for growth: a holistic view that not only uses mindset, but the nervous system and emotions as well. All three are essential, but here we'll focus on the deep emotional work that so many clients need in order to thrive. When we support clients in their emotional journey, one of the most powerful things we can do is meet them exactly where they are. As most highly skilled coaches already know, this isn't about changing their emotions–that attitude will most likely be met with more resistance. We must show up for our clients with acceptance so they can recognize they are in a safe place to truly feel their emotions.Often clients are conflicted and struggling with judgment of themselves when they come to us. When you, as their coach, demonstrate genuine acceptance—free from expectations or opinions about how they “should” be—they begin to trust that it's okay to show up exactly as they are. They can then let go of some of their self-judgment and start recognizing the deep work that needs to happen.Creating a safe, non-judgmental space is crucial to helping our clients move through emotional resistance. But in order to do this, we have to build that capacity within ourselves first. In Master Coach training, there are many skills and concepts that we spend time on to help us be better coaches: we learn about the nervous system, we work on tapping, and we're always talking about how we use cognitive coaching language to create safety and remove judgment. Developing these skills through knowledge is an amazing way to help your clients, but so much of the compassion we have for them comes from having done our own emotional work. How skilled coaches build trust in themselvesOne of the skills we cultivate in Master Coach training–and that I think is imperative for every human being, especially coaches–is to build the self-trust required to...

The Masterful Coach

When I first began my own motherhood journey, surviving each day seemed to be the goal. Can you relate? As women, the degree to which we can feel spread thin and overwhelmed by the emotional overload of becoming a mom can seem unbearable. And yet, I've come to learn that while “survival” mode can serve us from time to time, ultimately leaning into thriving is not only possible, but an incredible opportunity to expand our ability to impact our kids. I love supporting women in my work and have a special place in my heart for motherhood. This began early in my career when I wrote, The Happy Mom Mindset, and today I'm excited to share about a conversation I had with one of my very own Master Coach training clients, Heidi Allsop, on her podcast Raising Boys, Building Men. Heidi is a mom of five boys, and her podcast provides incredible insight into the challenges (and joys) of parenting, specifically when it comes to raising boys. I'm thrilled to rebroadcast this podcast episode and share some of the tools we discussed in this blog. Personally, I'm a mom to three amazing kids–two young adult boys and a teenage girl. Not only have I coached many women through their parenting challenges, but I have experienced my own firsthand. I know what it's like to navigate boys and their teenage years and all the emotions that come with it. Because of my holistic approach to coaching, I also know how vital understanding emotions is–in general for all of us, but especially when it comes to being there for our kids. So today, we are diving into all things emotions and teenage boys–a subject that touches many moms in a unique way. Every mom experiences her teenage son differently, so when we talk about teenage boys and their emotions, this can mean a few different things. Sometimes, it's big, loud emotions that present themselves in angry outbursts–an easy emotion for teenage boys to express. On the opposite end of the spectrum are boys with a lot of emotions coming up, but they stay silent and we don't know what they're thinking. The variety and unpredictability of emotions can make navigating raising boys–or any child–as a mom so difficult. So what do we do? How do we help them learn and navigate those emotions so they can keep developing through the years and become great people? After reading this blog, you'll take away strategies to help you.Whether you're a mom or not–and whether you have boys or not– this conversation will give you incredible insights into our emotional world as human beings–something that every coach needs to be aware of.Why emotional regulation is essential for momsAs moms, we often have the idea that we must gauge the emotions of the people around us: Where are we today? Are we up? Are we down? We believe there's a certain thing that we should do depending on what mood our kids are in. We end up focusing so much on trying to be a detective about something happening outside of us, and it's not a useful way to direct our time and energy–it's anxiety-producing, and it's not the answer or the solution. A better question to ask ourselves is, where am I today? When you wake up in the morning, take the time to say, what's my temperature? How am I doing? It is essential to pay attention to how we feel and ensure we're attending to our needs. Creating practices for better emotional regulation for ourselves is the foundation we need to be there for our kids no matter what mood they're in.

Rhonda Britten -- Emmy Award-winner, 4x Bestselling author, Repeat Oprah guest, Tedx Speaker, Huffington Post Contributor, and Master Coach – has devoted her life to one thing: teaching people how to master fear. She has created a method for anyone to overcome the insidious fear of “not being good enough” using the “Wheel Technology” she developed to save her own life. What she teaches is what she has lived. The episode presents an in-depth exploration of the multifaceted relationship between fear, teaching, and learning. Rhonda Britten introduces her innovative methodologies, including the 'Wheel of Fear' and the 'Wheel of Freedom', which serve as frameworks for understanding the psychological barriers that hinder student participation and engagement. She posits that fear is not merely a personal flaw but a universal experience that shapes behavior and learning in profound ways. Rhonda reflections on her own educational journey reveal the detrimental effects of fear on student participation, highlighting the need for educators to adopt a more empathetic approach. Significant transformation in education requires educators to first address their own fears and emotional needs. By prioritizing self-care, teachers can cultivate an environment conducive to authentic learning and emotional safety, allowing students to express themselves freely. This conversation is a call to action for educators to engage in self-reflection and to foster a fearless culture in their classrooms, ultimately leading to a more enriching educational experience for all.Takeaways: The Wheel of Fear and Wheel of Freedom offer frameworks to understand personal fear dynamics. Identifying one's core fear can significantly shift perspectives and enhance personal growth. Authenticity in education requires teachers to understand their own needs and emotions. Students often conceal their fears, which can hinder their learning and engagement in the classroom. Teachers must prioritize self-care to effectively support their students' emotional and educational needs. Creating a supportive classroom environment necessitates a focus on students' individual experiences and needs. Our guest this week is Master Coach and TED speaker Nick Johnsson In this episode:- Nick spent 11 years climbing the corporate ladder, However when he did reach the senior roles he was striving for he felt unfulfilled and full of self doubt Nick resigned from his job which led to divorce so he turned to alcohol for relief Alcohol became his coping tool for stress and unexpressed emotions. After 2 or 3 years of heavy drinking he reached rock bottom and found his health was collapsing At age 40, he realized he needed help—he began to share his feelings with his new wife, got medical help, and joined a 12-step program. He has been sober for nearly 7 years since that first meeting. These days Nick is an executive and sobriety coach, studying psychology to become a therapist. Runs men's groups and peer support networks He also works with corporates across Asia to address vulnerability, burnout, and connection. We agreed on the "power of vulnerability"— which is central to our philosophy here at Tribe Sober Being open and honest and sharing our feelings is so critical for healing and growth and it seems to happen naturally in our community as we have a common struggle that binds us However I was intrigued as to how he could get hard nosed business men and women to be vulnerable Nick explained that he uses keynotes and workshops in corporates to create safe spaces for open conversation. He shares his own story and then encourages the most senior executives to lead by example, sharing personal stories to build trust and openness. Executive Burnout & the importance of Resilience Nick warns about three signs of burnout: denial, changed habits, and secrecy. Defines resilience as seeking help and using support systems, not just “pushing through.” Nick has written a Book called: Executive Loneliness Based on a survey showing 30% of executives feel isolated. 75% wouldn't ask for help; 84% wouldn't talk about their mental health at work.
