195 This may be one of the most important episodes you will hear to make your marriage the one you want it to be. Especially if, like so many women, you wonder “Why should I be the one to do the work on our relationship?” Or you feel burdened or resentful that you seem to be alone in working on your marriage. Or if it just seems unfair that a lot of relationship advice is directed at women, when men have so much to learn when it comes to having a great relationship. If you're feeling that way, I get it. I've been there. AND it is making it HARDER to have the loving, connected, mutually supportive marriage you want with your spouse. In this episode, you'll hear why. And why this line of thinking is leading to an almost epidemic of women being unhappy in their marriages. What I want most is for you to feel deeply fulfilled in your relationship–and you want that too! So we've got to address this. Because trying to create deeper, better love from a sense of burden and resentment will never work. You didn't get married to just tolerate your relationship. You signed up for something way better than that. You want to truly enjoy your marriage. And like it or not, that means you WILL have to work for it, no matter how much your partner is also working on it. But it can be fun, even joyful. In fact, in this episode, I share how I work on my marriage every single day---with joy, passion, and feeling like it's a sacred honor that I GET to do–and how you can, too. Listen to this episode to move past the burden and resentment that comes from feeling like you have to do this work with no or very little help from your spouse, and so you can feel truly empowered to do what it takes to make your marriage what you want it to be.SHOW NOTES:Join Hannah for 4 months of private 1:1 Marriage Coaching, and get her deep, super individualized support to make your marriage more full of security, connection, love, and mutual support than ever. Feeling misaligned as a highly sensitive person? Maybe you're following the rules but something still feels off. In this episode of SelfKind, I'm exploring how knowing your values can not only shine a light on why you feel misaligned in certain places and spaces, but also transform decision-making, reduce overwhelm, and help you show up in ways that feel true to you as a highly sensitive person (HSP).As a highly sensitive person, “rules” can feel safe—but they can also pull you out of alignment if those rules (whether yours or someone else's) don't align with what is truly important to you. In this video I unpack values vs rules, why values-misalignment is so distressing for HSPs, and how a simple values lens can guide choices at work, in relationships, and in everyday life.In this episode you'll hear:
✨ In this soul-nourishing solo journey of Awaken Your Wise Woman, Elizabeth Cush invites us to step into the sacred space within, where our wounded inner child still longs to be seen and held. With the gentle guidance of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the powerful magic of parts work, Biz illuminates how the echoes of unmet emotional needs from childhood give rise to protective parts—like the inner critic, people pleaser, and perfectionist. These parts, though forged in pain, carry ancient wisdom and deep longing. With tenderness and compassion, we're reminded that healing begins when we listen to these parts with love and curiosity, honoring the divine intelligence they bring.

Do you know what your Zone of Genius is or are? If the answer is no, I encourage you to take some time and to do a brain dump and write down what you absolutely love doing as well as what you're naturally good at. Something that comes easy for you that people always say..."you're really good at this!" or "How did you do this so effortlessly?". Remember it also has to be things that you absolutely love doing, too! In this soulful episode of Awaken Your Wise Woman, Elizabeth Cush invites highly sensitive women to lovingly attune to their inner worlds amidst the noise and intensity of the outer one. With heartfelt vulnerability, she shares how deeply the current state of the world can impact sensitive souls and emphasizes the importance of creating sacred space for grounding, rest, and energetic realignment. From placing hands on the heart to daily chakra meditations and basking in the imagined warmth of sunlight, Elizabeth offers nourishing rituals that allow women to anchor themselves in compassion and presence. She speaks of energetic hygiene not as a luxury, but as a necessity for showing up in the world as radiant, heart-centered beings. Tapping into her intuitive gifts, Elizabeth also shares her Reiki practice and visualizations to channel healing light through the crown chakra and down through the body, helping listeners reconnect with divine flow. She highlights the transformative power of nature, rest, hydration, and soul-aligned community—reminding us that we are our own greatest resource. This episode is a gentle yet powerful call to honor your sensitive spirit, to soften into your body, and to reclaim your energy as sacred. Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening (and reading!)This is a re-release. I'm taking a break/pause for the Summer "slowing down to speed up" and am looking forward to what the Fall will bring! To name a few things that I'm working on are!1. A new podcast titled "Quiet Leader" for introverts, empaths and highly sensitive people (to be launched in the late Summer).2. An upcoming Audio Summit (to be launched in the Fall of 2025). 'A Summit for High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People to go from Selfless to Self-love and from Depleted to Dynamic!'3. And an upcoming Audiobook (to be released in February of 2026). It's interesting how we are taught and "groomed" (especially women) to look 'outward' for advice and to ask, ask, ask. And to not ever look inward and to follow our instincts and what our intuition is telling us. I'm not speaking about anything that's harming someone else...I have too much empathy for that and I would never preach that. This is for the sole reason of us following our intuition in life and that that is enough. We don't need to ask for permission or to ask for advice or to look outward. It's all within us and isn't it interesting that that's when we seek advice the most? If someone asks you "why are you doing this or that?" or "how come?" you can steal this answer from me which is..."Because I'm following my instincts" and if they keep asking you can follow-up with "My instincts are just that, they're mine and they won't make sense to you"....just like your instincts are yours and they won't make sense to me either". And you can be rest assured that that is enough of a reason. :)~~~~~~~~~~If this or any of my podcast episodes have been of value to you, please subscribe/follow and if you would be so kind as to rate me a 5 star ️️️️️ review? >>>To do a review on: Apple>>> 1. Do you feel like your body is always on high alert? Does emotional stress lead to a racing heart, skin breakouts, or stomach problems? If you're an empath or highly sensitive person (HSP), you might be experiencing mast cell activation, and it's more common than you think. In this episode, Dr. Aimie explores the hidden biology behind why sensitive people get sick from stress. Here's what's happening: Your body has special immune cells called mast cells. They act like security guards. But after trauma or chronic stress, these cells can become overreactive. They can treat everyday experiences like threats, even normal conversations or emotional triggers. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your body treats emotional stress like a physical emergency How your immune system gets stuck in “danger mode” (and why it's not your fault) How to naturally calm an overactive nervous system Supplements for mast cell activation Dr. Aimie's favorite technique that resets your nervous system How blood sugar levels affect emotional reactivity Simple daily habits to support nervous system healing Whether you're someone who feels emotionally or physically drained after social interactions, a practitioner absorbing clients' trauma, or someone who seems to absorb energy from others, this episode will give you practical tools to feel safer in your body and break the cycle of overwhelm.

This all makes me think...it's Independence Day in the U.S. but to whom?I hope you enjoy this episode.ElizabethMy website: www.westelizabeth.comIG handle: @imelizabethwestLet's Connect!~~~~~~~~~~

190 I made you a special short quiz to determine the level of dysregulation in your unique nervous system. (This episode goes hand in hand with episode 189, so I highly recommend listening to it first, or after you take the quiz.)Why should you take it? Because as highly sensitive people (and really, as just regular human beings on this planet in these modern times), our nervous systems are often chronically dysregulated. And this has a major impact in a not-so-great way on our lives in general and especially on our relationships. So you need to understand if you have a nervous system that is dysregulated chronically or that tends to get easily dysregulated.Unfortunately this can happen even more easily for us than non-HSPs. When we are dysregulated, we react more strongly than we normally would, in one way or another, and that leads to much more drama, much more struggle in our relationships, and a lot less clear, effective communication, a lot less getting through to our spouses, and being able to really hear each other, a lot less open-heartedness and connection, and a lot less feeling the mutual supportiveness and sense of being on the same team.So there really are many different ways that nervous system dysregulation can show up to the detriment of your relationship and to the detriment of your life in general. And you do want to know if it is happening for you so that you can make the necessary changes. Because that's the really good news: you have so much sway over your nervous system regulation or dysregulation. It just can take a little bit of learning and attention to it.Dive in now with pen and paper in hand.SHOW NOTES:Take the Dysregualtion quiz here in written format.Learn all about Foundations of Emotional Well-Being Course; The Root Of A Better Relationship here. Why do HSPs feel like they're fighting an uphill battle in a world that's lost its conscientiousness? After working with HSPs for nearly two decades, I've learned we're the people who value conscientiousness in society - that's our gift, not a weakness. Through therapy and self-awareness, sensitivity transforms from burden into extraordinary beauty. The sunrise that makes you cry with joy, the stranger's child who warms your heart - these experiences are available to every HSP who learns effective coping strategies.
