HER Style Podcast | Buy Less, Shop Smarter, Build a Wardrobe You Love
I hope you're feeling more and more excited to get dressed with each HER Style Podcast episode you tune into. But even so or if you're in an early phase of your style journey, rest assured that we all have those days and moments when we look into our closets and feel completely and utterly uninspired. Maybe just a few weeks ago you did a little shopping, added some new pieces, or even refreshed your whole wardrobe — but now you're right back where you started, reaching for the same easy combos, or just throwing on whatever's clean. If that sounds familiar, I want you to know you're not alone. Even as a stylist, I have those mornings too. Some days I feel on fire about putting together my outfit, and other days (especially the ones that are meeting-free!), I'm tempted to stay in my pajamas. But I've also picked up a few tricks to make those mornings easier so getting dressed doesn't have to feel like a chore. You can reignite that spark and fall back in love with the process of putting your outfits together, even when your inspiration feels like it's gone missing. That's what we're diving into today. We're going to talk about the hidden reason your wardrobe can feel uninspiring, the mindset shift that changes everything, the most common mistake I see that makes outfits feel "blah," and some quick tricks to spark fresh ideas — even when you're not feeling it. I'll also share how to stop relying on motivation and start building real momentum, what to do when you're tempted to reach for the easiest thing in your closet, why inspiration always comes in waves, and how to create your very own "inspiration toolkit" so you never feel stuck for too long. So if you've been in a style slump lately, take a deep breath, because you're about to get your confidence and creativity back, my friend. Let's go! As a PT private practice owner, one of the biggest challenges you'll face isn't just reimbursement cuts or competition—it's uninspired staff. In this episode, Brian breaks down how practice owners can re-ignite motivation in their teams by starting with themselves, communicating effectively, and turning negative energy into productive engagement. From diffusing anger to addressing unexpressed resentment, and from empowering individuals to building a culture everyone wants to be part of, you'll discover the practical leadership tools you need to deal with uninspired staff—and prevent it from spreading in your practice.
It’s finally fall, which means the return of colorful flannels, blundstones, and the occasional raincoat. These are the clothes that have come to define Seattle fashion… which, if you haven’t heard, is bad. That’s at least according to a longheld stereotype about our city’s aesthetic. People like to make fun of the way Seattle-ites dress. They’ve labeled our fashion sense as Normie. Uninspired. Boring. We’re asking two local fashion experts to weigh in on whether Seattle is an unstylish city… or if locals just earned a bad rap in their attempt to stay warm and dry. Guest: Clara Berg, a fashion historian and Curator of Collections at the Museum of History & Industry. Andrew Hoge, a creative director and fashion writer in Seattle. Warning... This episode is unedited. Scott just didn't have the heart or the time to spend on it, so it will be a little rough around the edges. We don't usually swear - but there's some in this one, so if the kids are in the car... Miami went to Indy for the NFL opening day and got their clocks cleaned. No part of the game was good, so Alex and Scott cover performances but not much in details. This game left everyone in the NFL world talking about what we've been trying to get out there for years. The last episode of last season said it all... the "Vote of No Confidence" episode of season 7 aimed at Mr Ross. Now we see the results. For the record, we drafted Tyler Warren for the Dolphins.
For months and months, despite counter-narrative attempts by the organization, objective observers have stately plainly that the Dolphins' 2025 offseason was proceeding in such a way that a road to a disastrous season was becoming clearer. In fact, it felt like it was among the most likely possibilities. After the Dolphins were dismantled, destroyed, and embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, it feels like the possibility of a disaster season is all but a certainty. Aaron and Josh are back to unpack the reactions to the game, including the news that the Dolphins didn't just lose – they suffered serious, and potentially devastating injury setbacks. Over the weekend, my neighbor came to my 13-year-old and told him they had about 130 bales of hay that needed to be loaded. He told my boy he'd pay him $250 and it would take somewhere around 3 hours. Jax agreed and off he went. I knew I had to help him because he's never done anything like that on his own, so as it goes, I end up doing about 50% of the work. No problem. That's how I am. I don't have the patience to be waiting around on people. We get into hour 6 of our 3 hour job and Jax says, "Dad, let's just finish the rest tomorrow." I told him I was tired, too, but that we probably just needed to finish what we started. This is the critical point for most people doing anything in life..... They get to the hard and tiresome part and quit. But here's the secret no one will tell you..... If you're tired, you're only 40% of the way there. In those moments, that's when you are tested to see if you'll show up and keep your word. Do the work despite being tired. Sweaty. Uninspired. When we were headed back to the house, Jax looked at me and said, "Dad, I'm glad we got that done. That was a great lesson." I hope you take it as a good lesson for yourself, too. Growth is in the hard work. But you won't grow if you don't power through the tough parts and make it go! In this episode, I'm sharing five things I come back to when I feel totally stuck. These aren't hacks or hustle-y tips… Think gentle nudges, mindset resets, and simple practices to help you find your footing again. I actually recorded this one during a time when I really needed these reminders myself. And honestly? I still revisit them anytime I'm feeling off or overwhelmed. This hour, Steve and Charlie take a look at how the Saints will look to produce on offense missing the "heart and soul" of that squad in Taysom Hill who went down last week with a knee injury and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the year, and we hear from Paul Dottino, Giants beat reporter for WFAN, on Tyrone Tracy Jr. and the Giants D-line is just as beaten as the fans feel so should the Saints be expecting a lot of pressure and stopped runs. Jeff Nowak, Saints sideline reporter and WWL digital content producer also joins the gang to preview the chilly weather up in Jersey, and while the Giants don't do anything well, the Saints shouldn't walk in in thinking this will be an easy win.
