Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to talk about stress and your health and how stress can make you sick. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, Doctor of Chiropractic. And today we're going to talk about how health can affect, can cause cancer and many, many other diseases, and how it's important to control your stress level in your life. I am doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness, and we're going to talk about this topic that's really important. So stress and health; how can stress affect your health? We know for a fact that health is affected by stress. We know that it can cause all kinds of things; it can cause cancer, it can cause heart attacks, it can cause high blood pressure can cause kidney disease, skin disease, depression, and many, many, many other things. So this topic for me, is very personal. As most people know, I lost my wife from cancer, breast cancer. And her doctor said to her, said that, you've had this cancer for over 30 years. And she had mammograms every year for, you know, since she was in her 20s. And she had cyst in the breast and she would go for checkups on a yearly basis and the doctor would say “Oh, it's nothing to worry about. It's just a cyst, we'll check it next year, come back and we'll do another mammogram, everything is fine.” So, at about age 48, she did a biopsy, and the biopsy was positive. And she was diagnosed with Stage 4 malignant cancer. And the cancer had spread to the lungs, the bone, the ribcage, the liver. And she had to do treatment at that time; she did chemo for about a year, which instead of curing the problem, it actually created more tumors. And this time, it created tumors in the brain. So she had to stop chemo after about a year. So one of the tumor was successfully removed from the brainstem without any side effects, and the second tumor was radiated with radiation therapy, and she was fine. But after she started chemo, she realized that chemo was not the solution and she needed to find something else, so we looked into a holistic approach. So we went to this holistic center called Utopia Wellness. And this Dr. Garcia was running the place and he wrote a book called Cancer Is A Symptom. And all the patients that were the clinic were all Stage 4 cancer, and most of them got pretty good results and they did really well.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm doing the show on Health Care System Based On Fear Versus Based On Faith.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients, and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a doctor of chiropractic. Stay tuned for the show on fear versus faith. So we're doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness, and basically we're going to talk to you about what can we do to become healthier, what can we do to make some changes on our healthcare system.Do we operate on our lives living in fear or do we operate living in faith? We grow up with all kinds of fears that we learn from our parents and grandparents. And sometimes our children grew up with the same kind of fears that we grew up with. As a parent, I don't want any of my kids growing up with my fears, I would love to break the cycle. And some of the example of some of the fears that we grow up with things like being afraid of heights or being afraid of flying or being afraid of death or being afraid of sickness, being afraid of the water; a lot of people are afraid to go in the water, they're afraid of swimming or drowning. Some people are afraid of sharks in the ocean. Some of us are afraid of darkness. And you know, a lot of us are afraid of germs these days.So we don't want to let our fear become their fears. We want our kids to grew up not having any fear or any limitations. We want them to grow up, to graduate from college and succeed in life and become successful, and not be afraid of anything. So what is the definition of fear? In the dictionary, it says that fear is an unpleasant often strong emotion, caused by an anticipation of awareness of danger. Another definition is an unpleasant feeling triggered by the perception of danger. And sometimes, it's real, and sometimes it's imagined. So we have a healthcare system that is based on fear. Health and sickness today is based on fear. Do we operate on fear or do we operate on faith? The healthcare system that we have today was designed based on fear, not faith. We were made up of trillions, we're afraid of germs and bacterias and viruses, because that's what we learned. The medical community and the drug companies are teaching us to be afraid of germs. Were made up of trillions of bacteria and viruses. Right now, there is 380 trillion viruses living inside of us, living inside of the body, and basically they coexist with the body.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I'm going to do a talk about the importance of the brain body connection.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. And we're going to talk to you about the brain, how important the brain is. Stay tuned, I'm doing the show to educate the public on wellness and health, and how the body works and how it functions, and what we can do to be healthier. So what does chiropractic have to do with the brain? The brain affects every function of the body. So how does the brain communicate with the rest of the body? Most people think, well, you know, the chiropractic is just something to do with the back, brain, back problems. It's not that, it's a lot more than that. Chiropractic has to do with the brain, the nervous system, the nerves. So the nervous system controls pretty much every function in the body by sending messages from the brain. So the communication there is so important. So how many messages go down from the brain to the rest of the body? Trillions of messages go through the brainstem, which is the stem below the skull, that goes into the spine, and it goes into the spinal cord, and eventually that goes to the nervous system. And basically, there's about 75 trillion neural pathways that run down the brainstem. And it's amazing how it works. So in order to understand how this works, I think it's important to understand the embryology, how we are created and what's really the most important organ in the body. And obviously, the most important organ is the brain. But how does it happen in the early stage of conception? You have a cell from the mom, a cell from the dad, and it gets together and it forms one cell. And then it multiplies into 2 cells, 4 cells, 8, 16, 32, 64. And eventually, that becomes a clump of cells, and that becomes the brain. And that's the first thing that's formed within days of conception. So the first organ to form is the brain. So from the brain, a little stem comes out which develops the spinal cord, and from there, it just grows and grows in and then eventually off the spinal cord, you have nerves that come out.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm going to talk about the benefit of chiropractic care during pregnancy. My name is Dr. Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned for Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. I'm doing this show to educate the public on wellness and health, and how you can be healthy naturally. And today we're going to focus on pregnancy and chiropractic. One of the most important time for a woman to receive chiropractic care is during her pregnancy. From the moment of conception, your body goes through a series of changes, and the back, the pelvis, postural changes can cause all kinds of problems with the back. Can cause pain and discomfort. And the good news is chiropractic can help. So, how can chiropractic help? Your spine is made up of 24 independent vertebrae that enables the body to twist, to bend, to move, and it can also help to protect the delicate central nervous system that controls and coordinates every part of your body; every cell, every tissue, every organ in the body.So if a bone goes out of alignment or out of place, you can have a subluxation, which is when the vertebrae goes out of alignment. So basically it's common known as a joint dysfunction, and it happens when two or more vertebrae are out of alignment, and it's pressing on the nerve, and it's impeding the body's ability to communicate with itself. So a joint dysfunction during pregnancy can be caused by changes that take place in your body as you prepare to support you and also the new bundle of joy. So for roughly 50% of all pregnant women, they experienced back problems, back pain during their pregnancy. And up to 75% of the women experience back pain and back problems during the labor. However, only 21% of the women seek consultation with their doctor or anyone for back problems, and most of them believe it's normal and they believe that it's expected during the course of a pregnancy, but it doesn't have to be that way.So in recent years, chiropractic care has been included as a safe and effective treatment for pregnant patients to help them to have a comfortable pregnancy. Right now, I have a lady in this, about two months old. And she cannot imagine not going through getting chiropractic care for her back, because every day, she has some issues or something going on.
Make time for your healthWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm going to do the show about how we need to make time for our health and how important it is to find the time to take care of yourself.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. And stay tuned. We're going to do this show to show you how you can take care of yourself and make time for your health and how we have plenty of time to take care of ourselves and our health. So I talk to patients all the time about taking time for their health. Everybody comes in and they say, well, you know, I've got to go back to work. I've been hurting for the last 20 years, but I've got to go back to work tomorrow. And basically, I have to sit down with my patients and tell them hey, listen, this didn't just happen yesterday, it took a while for this to happen. So we need to make some changes in your life. So what I hear from patients all the time is, I don't have time, I'm too busy. I can't go to the gym, you know, there's not enough hours in the day. I can't listen to this lecture; I have to go. You know, I'm in a hurry. I can't read a book, I can't educate myself on taking care of myself like you want me to.Listening to a podcast, I mean, 10, 15 minutes, nobody has time anymore. There's just not enough hours in the day. That's what everybody always say.So the hospital is full of people that did not take time for their health and they got sick. And they made excuses. It is so much easier to take care of your health by taking a pill. Or it's so much easier to just have surgery and do bariatric surgery, if you want to lose weight.Or it's so much easier to just have plastic surgery and make some decisions that can be harmful. Or if you have back problems, it's so much easier to just go and say, well, I'm just going to have surgery. And that is just not the solution. So I was listening to a lecture Saturday night, I was at a lecture and the wife of one of the chiropractors spoke up, and she sees a realtor. And she's a very, very busy lady, she also owns a daycare. She's a wife, she's a mom of two kids, she cooks she cleans. And she was talking about, she was lecturing about, if you think you're too busy to take care of yourself, she says “Think about this.” There is 168 hours in the week, you know, 24 hours a day times 7 is 168 hours. If you sleep 9 hours a night, that's about 56 hours per week.
What's behind chronic ear infections in kidsWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to talk about chronic infection in kids, what's behind this and what's the best way to handle it, how do you help the children that have ear infections. So I'm going to talk about how to manage this situation and how to help the kids.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients, and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness, in basically how are we going to help the kids today when they have chronic infection. And I know it's a common problem that a lot of kids have.Over 80% of the kids, the children, experience at least one ear infection by age 3 according to NIH. Ear infection is a very common problem. As parents, we should increase our knowledge on this condition.Chiropractic can help ear infection, and the situation, this condition can be fixed with chiropractic care. What are ear infections? Where do they call from? It is an inflammation that happens in the inner ear. The infection manifests as fluid builds up behind the eardrum. So this condition is called otitis media. It is very common in young children and toddlers and infants. This is the number one reason why parents take their kids to an ear infection specialist. When it comes to otitis media, everybody is vulnerable. Seniors can get it, young teenagers can get, pregnant women can get it, younger adults, middle aged people, young children. No one is immune to this condition.Children are more at risk with this, and it's much more common with young kids. So why the kids have a greater risk of getting otitis media or ear infection? Because the anatomy, the way the anatomy is, the Eustachian tube which is the tube in the ear, happens to be smaller in kids. And the tubes when they're developed, they're not really thick, they're kind of flat in children, and basically it allows less space for the ear to clear. And basically, the fluid doesn't drain out properly from the ear, and it's much more difficult for this to happen. So sometimes the Eustachian tube can swell and it can be blocked by mucus, especially when the child has a cold.
Is it true there is a new deadllier strain of the corona virusWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today we're going to do a show about the Coronavirus. Is it true that there is a new deadly virus out there?Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a doctor chiropractic. Stay tuned, I am doing the show to educate the public on health and wellness, and what we can do to become healthier. So is it possible that there is a new strain of COVID out there that is deadly? That's what we hear all over the place every time we turn the news on. There is not a new strain of COVID floating around, there's a new variant or mutation of COVID. A new strain has a different structure.A variant is a very small change that occurs. If a virus changes slightly, it does not change the function. There is no evidence out there that there's a new variant and that it is more dangerous than the original variant. So why is it spreading so much in other countries? It is the winter right now, we're in the month of February, the weather is cold. And you know it's affecting the immune system and people are cold and your nose will start running, you might start coughing a little bit, you might have some of the symptoms of a cold, might sneeze a little bit. And basically it affects your lung.So of course, you're going to start having flu, and then people are going to transmit their illness to others and people get sick. Also, the amount of vitamin D is not the same. When you're in the winter, you don't absorb vitamin D like you do in the summer. So vitamin D is the most important vitamin to keep your immune system stronger. If you're deficient, you will be a lot more susceptible to get the virus. So they found that every person that is sick with COVID is deficient in vitamin D.So it's very important to make sure that you get to vitamin D. COVID is genetically more stable and it mutates at a very slow pace, not like the influenza of flu. So the variation occurs once a twice per month, and it's very, very, very slight. So the next time you hear that there's a deadly strain running around, educate people, that there is a big difference between a strain and a variant. There's a slight slight variation in the virus. Most people focus on the environment. Most of us, that's what we think is the answer. What about strengthening your immune system?
A deeper look into fatigueWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show today we're going to do a podcast on tiredness and fatigue. Let's look deep into what it means; and there's more that meets the eye.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And I'm doing this show to educate in the public on health and wellness and a different way to look at health. If you're into medication and the medical world, this is probably not the show for you. But let's look into what fatigue and tiredness mean.Fatigue and tiredness has to do with a symptom, it's a symptom of something going on in your body, something is not working, something is not functioning right. And you know, we need to look into it. So tiredness, the definition in the dictionary says that basically tiredness is “Drained of strength and energy.” Fatigue often to the point of exhaustion, feeling of tiredness after certain activities. How do we feel after exercise? A lot of times we were tired. How do we feel after a long day of work? A lot of times we're just very tired. How do we feel after sleeping, not sleeping enough? A drop of energy? After eating certain foods.Sometimes it can happen when certain kinds of food. Fatigue is different. The definition of fatigue is basically something that's long lasting, where you have long term of daily lack of energy, severe tiredness. And it can be acute or it can be chronic. Acute means it lasts for a short time for about a month, and chronic is long term, it's at least 1 month to 6 months of being really fatigued for a long period of time.So what are some of the causes of fatigue? We can be fatigued if we have a cold or flu. If we have allergies. A lot of times people wake up with certain allergies and you feel tired. Liver disease can cause fatigue. Lung disease can cause fatigue; COPD, anaemia.Sometimes a hormone can affect how your body feels and whether you're tired or fatigued. Having a thyroid that's not functioning at 100%, hypothyroidism; is very common today and a lot of people feel tired and weak and fatigued, they want to sleep a lot. Nutrient deficiency; lacking certain vitamins can cause you to be tired and fatigued.Vitamin D deficiency, which is very common, which we talked about in one of the previous podcast. We dedicated the whole podcast on vitamin D, and that's very, very important to really know a little bit about vitamin D.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to do this talk about healthy heart cholesterol, and we're going to look at the heart from a different angle and in a different perspective. And the key to the heart is prevention.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. And stay tuned, we're doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And we're going to focus on the heart today. How do we keep our heart healthy? So let's talk about some of the statistics and facts. The heart is an amazing organ, it beats 100,000 times per day. The heart is the hardest working muscle in the body. It's about the size of a fist, and it weighs less than a pound, but yet it does so much work. It's amazing. So as far as heart health is concerned, we're not doing a good job at keeping healthy and taking care of our heart. Heart disease is the Number 1 cause of death in the US today with both male and female; 50% of the females die from heart disease and 50% males die from heart disease. So one in two adults pretty much gets heart disease. University studies have detected that disease even start at a young age, as young as seven years of age. So for citizens of the United States, heart disease serves as the Number 1 cause of death, and is responsible for killing over 600,000 people every year, and about 720,000 people have heart disease every year.So heart disease affects our nation and it strains our healthcare system. And it's a silent killer; it affects people silently and you don't even know you have a problem until something happens, until you have symptoms. So history is important, genetics are important, but really the most important thing is the lifestyle. Those are the variables that can affect your heart. So the way you live your life is going to be a major part in your Health. So prevention methods that we have today is basically weight control, nutritional choices, exercise. And basically we're treating the symptoms, we're taking medication to treat the symptoms. More and more people today are taking you know, blood pressure medication at a young age.So what I want to do is talk about a different way of looking at the heart in chiropractic care and how it relates to heart disease and heart health.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today we're going to talk about a disc problem; herniated disc. How can we heal from a herniated disc? How to get better. How to fix it from scratch.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic, and today we're going to talk about health and wellness. So stay tuned and we're doing the show to educate the public on health and wellness and how to get better from different conditions. But today we're going to focus on a herniated disc. A herniated disc can heal if you take care of it the right way, if you manage it properly.A herniated disc or a bulging disc. And there's many different names for this condition. Some people call it a bulge, some people call it a protrusion on a disk, there's different degrees of the damage done to a disc. So person suffering with this condition may not even know they have it when it's initially in the beginning when it starts. And eventually a can get aggravated, it can get worse, and eventually can develop into severe pain; excruciating pain. Herniated disc occurs when the disc or the rubber pad or the cushion in between the bone which is made out of cartilage can be damaged from a tear or from coming out or going out of place. So often the disc presses on the nerve, and that can cause the pain. Initially it can be minor, but then it can become severe. So a disc can herniate by stretching or moving out of position, by lifting a heavy object improperly, by getting into an accident or some kind of trauma; car accident or fall or just twisting the wrong way. Some people will just sneeze and a disc can go out of place. So, or sometimes it's just age. As you get older, you can develop a herniated disc.So no matter how it happens, it's painful and no one should suffer from this for a long time. So there is something that can be done, there's ways to repair a herniated disc that doesn't involve surgery. So depending on the location, it can cause different kinds of problems. It can affect your range of motion, it can affect your movement, it can affect anything that you do. So symptoms of a herniated disc can originate in the location where the disc is, but it can also travel to where the nerve goes to.
Fever the most misunderstood symptom Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. And today we're going to talk about a fever. What is a fever? I think fever is one of the most misunderstood symptom in the body that people don't really know how to handle. So, fever. That's what we're going to focus on today. My name is Dr. Daniel Vectra. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned for Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. And we're doing the show to educate the public about health and wellness. And especially today, we're going to focus on fever, what it is and how to handle it, and what to do about it and what does he mean? So what is a fever? A fever is a temporary increase in the body temperature, oftentimes indicating that there's an illness. So it's a sign of something out of the ordinary, going on in your body. And not everybody's normal temperatures the same. So the baseline of a normal fever is 98.2. Now with this COVID, everywhere you go, everybody is checking your fever. You know, do you have fever? So it's 98.2 degrees Fahrenheit. But not everybody is the same. Some people have it lower, some people have been higher. And the adult body temperature can be anywhere from 97 to 99. And children can have a temperature from 97 to 100. So it varies. So does your temperature stayed the same all the time? No, it does not. It's not the same all the time. It changes throughout your lifetime and throughout the day. Sometimes some things that can cause your temperature change is how active you are, what time of the day, your age, your sex, what you've eaten, what you've drunk you know, what you're drinking. Some women that are having their menstrual cycle. So your body temperature changes, basically depending on where you measure it. And the arm reading tends to be about a degree lower than the mouth reading. Rectal reading tends to be a degree higher than the mouth.Oral and rectal thermometers generally provide the most accurate measure of the body temperature. So ear and forehead thermometer, which is basically what most people are using today is the most convenient and the less accurate temperature reading. So what can cause a fever?
The purpose of painWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to do the show on what pain is, and what the purpose of pain is. And what does it mean to have pain in the body? How do we deal with it? What's the best way to handle it? My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And this show is about what pain is, how do we deal with it? What do we do? How do we handle it? You know, what's the best way to deal with a symptom like pain? So what is pain? Pain is the signal in your body or in your nervous system that something is wrong, that something is not right. It's not a good feeling, it's not a pleasant feeling. But there's different reason for it.So it could be steady pain, it could be throbbing pain, it could be stabbing, sharp like a knife pain, it could be aching, it could be pinching. And sometimes it comes in it goes…. Like a toothache you know, it comes in and goes. And sometimes it's quiet during the day, and it's worse at night, and it throbs at night, and it's more significant than and you feel it more. And sometimes it can be constant. Sometimes it's everywhere, the whole body, it affects your function. Some people you know, commit suicide because of pain, because they can't handle it.So there's two kinds of pain. There's acute pain, and there's chronic pain.Acute means severe, it's short lived. And you know, basically it just tells you that the body was injured, something, some kind of trauma occurred. Chronic Pain is something that's marked severe that's there all the time and never goes away, or it's there for a long period of time. And it's a result of a disease or some kind of illness. Like people that have fibromyalgia you know, they have the pain all the time. And it just doesn't go away, and it's constant, and it's there with you for years. So pain can interfere with your function, it can interfere with what you do every day. It can interfere with sleep, it can interfere with your work, it can interfere with your activities, your quality of time with your family and your friends. So how do we take care of pain? How do we treat it? How do we handle it? You know, basically, most of the time, the average person goes to the family doctor. And basically what we're directed to do is to take some kind of medication to manage the symptom, to manage the pain.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm going to do the show on cancer prevention.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr.A different perspective on CancerMy name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. And today we're going to talk about a different approach about how to look at cancer, and some of the things that are going on today with the science of cancer, the new research and the new things that are coming out. So stay tuned. I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And we're going to talk about different statistics about what cancer is and where we are with cancer today. The goal of today is to look at prevention. You know, how do we prevent having cancer? How can we radically change our view on health, and what are some of the tools that we can take to look at health and life? There's no one out there that's not affected by cancer. Everybody has some kind of cancer close by friends, family, that have been touched by cancer. So it's important to educate yourself so you can become a leader in your community. And you can understand how the body works. And you know how to create a fine tuned, efficient body that can fight disease and fight off cancer. So, some of the prediction that the CDC has, is basically the new cancer cases are expected to increase from 1.5 million per year in 2010 to 1.9 million per year in 2020. The number of cancer deaths expected to increase from 575,000 in 2010 to 630,000 in 2020, which is basically the number one killer in America today. Between 2010 and 2020, the new cancer cases and are going to go up by 24% or are going up by 24% in men to 1 million cases per year and 21% in women to 900,000 cases per year.So the kind of cancer that we expect to increase the most are the melanoma which is the deadliest kind of skin cancer in white men and women.
Headaches and migraines what you dont know Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to talk about headaches and migraine, and a different way to look at headaches and how to find a solution.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. And we're going to focus on migraines and headaches and different reasons why people get headaches and what's the solution to find a cure. This is a very important topic for me because I suffered with migraines for 17 years, almost every day, I woke up with severe severe migraines. And it was a long journey for me to find a solution, and I did find a solution. So I'll talk a little bit more about that, but there is an epidemic out there, and there's 45 million Americans that suffer with headaches. And in my practice we see a lot of people that come in with headaches and migraines. And it's a very important topic because when you suffer migraine, it's very debilitating you know; it affects your life in a way that you just cannot function. So primary type of headaches; 90 percent of all the headaches come from tension, migraine, cluster headaches, cervicogenic headaches, which is basically coming from the spine, coming from the neck, coming from the neck area, bones out of alignment that can cause headaches. So the secondary type of headaches come from illnesses like blood pressure; high blood pressure or brain tumors. And you know, those are different kinds of headaches. So common headache types that we have today are sinus headaches; one of them is sinus headaches, and it's usually behind the forehead and the cheekbone. The second type of headaches are the cluster headaches, and basically they focus around the eyes. The third kind of headaches are tension headaches that basically feel like a band squeezing your head. And the last kind of headaches are the migraine type, which can cause pain, can cause nausea, can cause visual disturbances or changes. And basically that's the one that I suffered with, it's basically the migraine. Chronic type of tension headaches are the most common variety, and it affects more women than men.
The lifestyle to live healthy 100 yearsWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I'm going to talk to you about how to enhance your health, vitality and quality of life to reach 100 years of age.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, Doctor of Chiropractic. And today, we're going to talk about what to do to reach 100 years of age. Stay tuned. And I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness, and we're going to talk about health to live a long life.So what is the key to longevity? How do we make it to 100? Things that we can do to change our lives so that we can reach a hundred years of age, but not only live longer, but live with good quality of life.Would you rather live to a hundred and be in a nursing home or would you rather live to 100 and be in a cruise ship and enjoy your life and have fun and do all the things that you want to do? So some of the statistics in the US; in 1980, there was only 30 000 people that lived to a hundred years of age. In 2009, there was a hundred thousand people that lived 100 years of age. And now we're predicting that in 2050, there will be at least a million people that will live to a hundred years of age.So we have a body that's designed to be around for at least 120 years, so we have the ability to live to 100; at least. My father's family, they all live you know, very old, and over 100 years of age. My father's mom was 103 years old when she passed away, and she lived by herself, cooked every day.She would go to the market every day until the last day that she died. So she was 103 years of age, but she was active and she was able to do whatever she wanted to do. So I went to the doctor for an examination for my dad, and the nurse sat down with my dad and asked him, and said well you know.“What was your family's health like you know? How old did your mom live and how old did your dad live and how old did your sister and your brother?” And he would respond well, they just died you know, each person just died of old age. They're just you know, and they lived up to 90, 95, 100, 103.And every person he went by…. And he had a big family. I just sat there and listened to him and I couldn't believe it, but every person died of old age, nobody really died of an illness. And everybody lived a long long life. So my dad passed away about a year ago, and he was 94 years old.
A new perspective on concussions and what do about them Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to do a show on concussion and a different perspective on how to handle a concussion and what's the best way to take care of a person to recover as fast as possible.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic is adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And I'm going to do this show on educating the public on health and wellness. And we're going to focus today on concussions. So what is a concussion? A concussion is a traumatic brain injury that's caused by an accident or a fall or trauma. And basically what happens is a rapid movement forcing the brain to move back and forth inside of the skull. So concussions can range from mild to severe with symptoms. And some of the symptoms are things like headaches, head pressure, blurry vision, confusion, dizziness, sleep issues, anxiety, depression, mood swings, and a lot more. While some of the symptoms will show right away, some symptoms show later. And it can be hours, it can be days, or it can be weeks. So my daughter had a concussion. She was at University of Miami about 7 years ago, and she was in the bathroom, and she had put a bag of her clothes on the floor. And as she got up, she hit her head on the hand dryer, and she hit it with full force, and she fell to the floor and passed out.And she created a concussion in her brain, and that changed her life for about a year of her life. So at that point, she had the MRIs, the tests and everything, and it took a whole year for her to recover. And she was not the same at all, and she had to stop and quit school for 1-year time. She came home and we had to take care of her for that amount of time.So what is the approach of conventional medicine? Basically, the approach is preventing the problems and management of the symptoms. You know, basically they manage the symptoms; the headaches, the symptoms that come with a concussion. With chiropractic care, we take the treatment a step further, we address the underlying concerns that comes with concussions. So instead of giving medication, anti-inflammatory and painkillers and all these things, we go to the root cause and we look at dysfunction that comes with a concussion, which involves the muscles and the nervous system.
Chiropractic Care and your healthWelcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today we're going to talk about what Chiropractic is and how it works, and how there's so much more to what we do than what most people think. It is going to be eye opening.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned in, I'm doing this show today to educate the public on what Chiropractic is, and how it's much more than what people think it is.What is Chiropractic? Chiropractic is the study of the spine and the relationship to the nervous system, and how it functions and how it works. Basically, the nervous system controls everything, every function in the body is controlled by your nervous system. So how can the spine affect the function of your body? If there is a misalignment in your spine, then the communication from the brain will not be able to travel down the spinal cord down to the nerve and down to the organs, and you're not going to have 100% health. So basically, your transmission of the messages from the brain travels to your spine to the tissue cells, and basically can affect every part of your body.So when you have a bone that's out of alignment, it's going to affect your health. So you're going to have what is called a subluxation. I know that's a fancy word, but basically what it means it just means that the structure, you know, that basically the bone is going to be out of alignment and there is a displacement of the bone in your spine or the vertebrae. And the only way you can see that is with an X-ray.So basically, the bone will be out of place and that's going to cause pressure on the nerve and that's going to interfere with the messages in your spine. And you're not going to function on 100%. So what can this do? It can cause health problems like headaches. This is Bell's. Problems with the neck, and basically, that can go down to the shoulders, the arm, the hands, it can affect the organs, the glands, the thyroid. And that can affect the hormones. In the low back, that can cause what people call sciatica or pain down the leg. But also, that's going to cause problems with intestinal tract, it can cause problem with the bladder, problem with the prostate. It basically can affect everything, every part of your body. So what can cause a subluxation? There's three things that can cause the subluxation.Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr is well known for his 38 years of experience as chiropractor.During that time he has performed over half a million chiropractic adjustments. If you want to know more about Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr you can visit his website, https://www.cloverleafchiropractic.com Or follow him on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/daniel.abeckjerr or Twitter https://twitter.com/DanielAbeckjerr.Do you have some question? The Real Power of Vitamin D Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I'm going to talk to you about the real power of vitamin D. How important vitamin D is to the body.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. I'm doing the show to educate the public on what health is and what wellness is and how to take care of our body better and how we can improve our health. How important is vitamin D in the body?I usually don't talk much about vitamins or nutrition as it is not my field. So, but I cannot help talking about the subject because the more I hear and the more I learn about this topic, I realize how important it is to have vitamin D, and how misinformed we are today as far as what vitamin D is and how we're supposed to take care of ourselves and how we're supposed to stay away from the sun. So I read some articles. It all started with this article that I read on COVID-19 and how important vitamin D is for COVID-19. And basically, the correlation between the two is about the immune system. So most people in general are very low on vitamin D. Three out of four women are deficient in vitamin D.And basically what's happening is, most of us or most women, a lot of women don't want to go in the sun because apparently it affects the skin and it can cause the wrinkles and basically, it's for your looks, in the beauty. The question is, which one is healthier and which one is more important? Is health more important than looks? I think definitely we should understand what are some of the consequences of not getting enough vitamin D. So low vitamin D can cause all kinds of health issues. And originally, it started with rickets. Then it can cause osteoporosis and tuberculosis, cancer; breast cancer, colon cancer. So vitamin, you know, is getting a lot of attention these days. And basically people are really listening and paying attention why, you know, what is this thing? Why is vitamin D so important? So, the thing about vitamin D is that you get it from sitting in the sun and it doesn't cost any money, and there's plenty abundance of it. And it's extremely vital to the body. So, let's talk in detail about what can happen when you are deficient in vitamin D.So one of the diseases that used to result as a result of vitamin D deficiency was rickets. In the old days, it was very common. The Rickett is when the bone is soft and is very common in children.Dr. Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I'm going to talk about how important scoliosis is and how serious it is and how it can affect a child's health. Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic, and we're doing the show to educate the public on Health and Chiropractic. And today we're going to focus on what the spine does when there's a scoliosis and what happens to your health and how it can affect your health and how important it is to address a scoliosis, especially in the young child.June is the month of scoliosis. And basically this is when most people focus on what a scoliosis is. And back to school is coming up in August, and a lot of their parents are worried about their kids and their health and it's a good time to do a checkup for the kids and check them for spinal problems, especially scoliosis. And today, it's a very common thing that's happening. I don't know why a lot of the kids are coming up with scoliosis in their spine. I guess it's the change in time, it's a change in how the kids are handling their posture and in what we do; we're sitting at home a lot and we're on the computer a lot. And you know, things are different than what they were 10 years ago, 20 years ago.So what is a scoliosis? A scoliosis is a curvature of the spine sideways. And basically the spine instead of being straight, it looks like an “S”. So imagine an “S” in your back instead of a straight spine. If you look at your pen, it's straight, straight as an arrow. That's how your spine should be. It occurs a lot of times around the growth spur, right before puberty, around 12, 13 years of age is when most people find it.A scoliosis affects the entire skeletal system; and includes the spine, their ribs, the pelvis. It affects the brain, the central nervous system. It affects the hormones, the digestive system. It can deplete the body from nutritional resources, it can affect and damage major organs such as the heart and the lung. And the reason for that is a lot of times when there's a scoliosis, the rib can be distorted, and that can cause pressure on the heart, and squeeze the heart, and squeeze the lung. On one side, we will have more pressure than the other side. So there's different types of scoliosis. There's different categories; there's 3 categories, and there are 7 types of scoliosis. So the 3 categories are idiopathic; idiopathic means, we don't know.
How to manage your health from the inside out.Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm going to talk to you about how to manage your health from the inside out.My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, doctor of chiropractic. Stay tuned. I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And today we're going to talk about living your life from the inside out versus the outside in.So I was talking to a friend of mine a few days ago that is a Hindu priest. And he founded a Hindu temple near my office and we often talk about life and the Hindu philosophy of life. He said something really interesting. He said he people of this world live their lives in an outside in lifestyle. He said we do everything from the outside in. He said its all about materialism. And he said people don't talk to each other anymore, and they don't sit and have a meal or sit together and talk to each other. He said it's all about material, it's all about cars, houses, phone, social media, sitting on the phone all day and just looking at the social media. He said the world as it is today operates in the outside in philosophy. And we look at the solution to life from the outside in instead of looking on the inside. He was referring to what's going on today in the politics and Covid-19 and all the things that are happening today. So I thought about that and when I look at health care, it's pretty much the same thing. Everything is from the outside in, and it seems like everybody is looking at health from the outside in. And I see it happening all the time. Health has always been looked at from the outside. And you know, when people have health issues, instead of looking and trying to figure out what's going on, they're just trying to, let's see if I can take a pill, just to fix the problem. So everybody is looking for the drug to resolve their healthcare issues. If our diet is bad, if we end up with high blood pressure, if we're diabetic or if we overweight, we think there's a drug that will cure the problem, taking a pill will resolve the problem. We all want a quick fix from the outside. If we're overweight, instead of taking care of ourselves, we look at gastric bypass, that's a solution. And the truth is we need to make a lifestyle change. When we're stressed and we look at the food as a solution to stress. If we have a lot of stress and cannot sleep at night, the solution is a simple pill; a sleeping pill. That's extremely addictive, and that's our solution. Again, another outside in solution. The solution to lower this stress is basically finding the problem so that we're not plagued with insomnia. And again, people looking to drugs for everything.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, and today I'm doing the show on blood pressure. And basically, we're going to talk about a new way to look at blood pressure problems and how we can do things differently. So I'm not giving you advice on what to do with your health. If you're going to make some changes, make sure you talk to your doctor and check with him before you make any changes whatsoever. So my name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, Doctor of chiropractic. Stay tuned. I'm doing this show to educate the public, and today we're going to focus on blood pressure and health, and a new way to look to look at health, and a new way to look at your blood pressure problems. So what is blood pressure? Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the wall of the arteries as it circulates through the arteries. So what it does, the blood pressure measures the pressure inside your arteries. What is High Blood Pressure? High Blood Pressure is a condition in which the force of the blood against the arteries is too high. So the pressure builds up, and that's basically what we measure when we have high blood pressure. So if it's too high, that's called high blood pressure. So when you check your blood pressure, the first reading that you check is called the systolic reading, the higher number. And what it does again, it measures the pressure of blood inside of the arteries when your heart is beating. So it builds this pressure, and you measure it, and that's called the systolic pressure. The second reading is the diastolic reading which is the lower number. And it's the pressure in the heart when the heart is resting in between the heartbeat. So the systolic is during the heart beat and the diastolic is when the heart is resting or when its relaxing. So what is the normal blood pressure? According to the American Heart Association, a normal blood pressure should be around 120/80 for a male and a little bit lower for a female. So the systolic should be between 120 and 90, and the diastolic should be between 80 and 60 in the normal person, normal adult. So the American Heart Association came up with a chart, and it says that basically a normal blood pressure should be 120/80. An elevated blood pressure is 120-129, and less than 80. When it's Stage 1 hypertension, which is high blood pressure, they say it's between 130-139/80-90.And high blood pressure which is Stage 2 hypertension is over 140 and over 90. Now, the danger is levels of hypertension which is called a crisis according to the chart, is higher than 180 and higher than 120. So those are the levels that they've seen, basically that they rate.
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, what we're going to do is talk about what kind of changes can we make to become younger next year. So the title of my talk is “Younger body next year.” So what are some of the things we can do to make our body healthier?Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic is adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned for “Younger body next year, how can we be healthier next year.”I was reading a book called Younger Next Year, the friend of mine told me to read this book, that it would really help as far as you know, making your health different. And what the book talks about is that basically if you do certain things, in one year from now, your body is going to be a lot healthier, and you're going to be a lot younger within a year's time. So what the book says is that 70% of the normal problems of aging and weakness and sore joints and bad balance can be changed, can be put off, can be reversed. It says basically, that we can eliminate 50% of the illnesses that we have and the injuries that we have, and that we can be functionally younger every year that we take care of ourselves, in the next 5-10 years, you'll see a tremendous change in your health and your body. And that you can have more vitality, and that you can enjoy life more. So the messages really really simple is that if you learn to train for some of the things that you can do in life, you're going to be having fun in life, and you're going to really enjoy life more. So I did read the book and it explained a lot of things. And basically, it's all simple. It's all mathematics you know, 1 and 1 is 2; bottom line. You add 1 on 1, and then at the end of the year, you're going to have 2. But if you do the opposite, if it's 1 minus 1, then you're going to be at the same level. Or if it's 2 minus 1, you're going to be behind, you're going to fall behind. So when it comes to health, you have to do things in life to make things better. So the analogy that I'll like to use is the concept of money. Imagine if you went to the bank every day and deposited $10 every day. At the end of the year, you would have close to $4,000 in the bank. If you did that for 10 years, at the end of 10 years, you'll have $40,000. If you do that for 40 years, at the end of 40 years, you're going to have $160,000 in the bank, and you're going to be sitting in pretty good shape. Well, if you imagine if you did the opposite, if you took away $10 every day from the bank, from your bank account, at the end of the year, you're going to be in the minus 4000. By the end of the 10 years or the end of 40 years, you're going to be in the minus $40,000 or at the end of 40 years, you're going to be in the minus $160,000.So use that for your health. Imagine doing something positive every day for your health, what would happen in a year from now? So what are some of the things we can do to become healthier? For example, the diet, right? If Eat healthy and you do that every day, you eat instead of eating potato chips, you eat carrots or you eat healthy food like vegetables and fruit. Or exercising, if you did some exercise every day and you made it your goal to do something every day. With this quarantine going on these days, one of the things that I did is I decided to do something every day to exercise. So I took advantage of the time that we had, and basically I did something with it. But imagine doing that all the time, exercising every day going to the gym or doing whatever it is that you'd like to do, or eating healthy or doing some of the things that can make you better. As the doctor of chiropractic, I get a lot of patients that come to my office. And one day I had
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, we're going to talk about autism and toxins. What is autism? Where does it come from? How prevalent is it? Who has it? What does it mean? So we're going to focus on that. Daniel Abeckjerr, Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And I'm going to do my show on what autism does. Where does it start in the statistics of saying that 1 in 2 kids in 2025 will become autistic, so we really need to learn about what going on with autism. Stay tuned, I am doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And again, we're going to focus on autism and toxins. What is autism?Autism is a serious development disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. So there's different types of autism, so they call it Autism Spectrum Disorder, and it impacts the nervous system; the brain and the nervous system. So it impacts about 200,000 children every year. So the range and the severity of symptoms can be different, it can vary. The most common symptoms that children have is basically difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interaction, obsessive interest, repetitive disorder, violent behavior. And it's different. Some people have just a little bit and some people have a lot.So where does it come from? Where does autism come from? Research suggests that autism develops from different things. From a combination of either genetic predisposition or non-genetic predisposition. The second thing, the most important thing is environmental influences like toxins; different kinds of toxins. Some studies are showing that vaccine can cause autism. Some of the parents concern persist that the vaccine might cause autism. And the reason why they think it comes from the vaccine is because immediately after the vaccine, the children had the symptoms of autism, and in some cases, it was Immediate. In 1998 Andrew Wakefield, who was a British gastroenterologist and his colleagues published a paper saying that the children whose first symptoms of autism appeared just about within a month after they received certain vaccine; the MMR which is basically the measles, the mumps and rubella. So the medical authorities deny that vaccine causes autism. So the question is, if it doesn't come from vaccine, where did it come from? I was studying basically when vaccine started, 1962, we basically got about five different vaccines. And one was polio, the other one was smallpox and the other one was a combination of three; DPT, which is diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis. And back then in 1962, only one child in 10,000 children became autistic. As time went by, 1983, we got about 24 doses of vaccines. And basically at that time, we had 1 in 150 children that became autistic. And then as time went by in 2018, the average child up until about now, kids are getting about 72 doses of vaccine by the age of 12. And now the statistics are showing that 1 in 54 children are becoming autistic. It's more prevalent in boys. So usually it's 1 in 37 boys, and 1 in 151 girls. So for some reason, the boys get it more than the girls; 4 times more likely to become diagnosed with autism, if you are a boy. Right now, there's about 300 vaccines in the pike coming in. So as more and more vaccines will be introduced, it looks like the trend is going to be that there will be more autism if the vaccine is what's causing the autism.Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr is well known for his 38 years of experience as chiropractor.During that time he has performed over half a million chiropractic adjustments. If you want to know more about Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr you can visit his we
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today we're going to talk about pain symptoms and what it means to the body. And it's not what most people think. I'm a doctor of chiropractic. Stay tuned. And we're going to do this show to more or less educate the public on health and wellness and Chiropractic, and we're going to focus on pain and what that means to the body. So what is pain? Pain is the body way to tell you that something is going on, something is wrong, that there is an injury or there is a problem. Pain is an alarm, it's a warning sign. Most people don't listen to the warning signs, they don't listen to the alarm. It's like having a warning light on the dashboard or your car and not paying attention to it. The consequences are going to be severe. We need to listen, we need to listen to our body.Pain is a symptom. A symptom is a warning sign of something greater. We need to be grateful for the warning signs because it tells us that something is going on. Warning signs for heart attack is chest pain, and pain in the left arm. It needs to be addressed, and if you don't take care of it, you can lose your life. Most people approach the symptoms by taking medication, by suppressing the symptoms or the pain or the warning signs. So again, it's like the oil light in your car is the warning sign telling us there's a problem. And if you ignore it, or if you put a piece of paper over it, and you're thinking the problem is not there and the problem is gone. But it's not there, it's not the way works. This is like putting blinders on. Imagine if somebody had chest pain from heart attack, and you took a medication just to cover up the pain and just to cover up the problem. That is just not the right thing to do.When a person has a back problem, most people take pain pills, they take a cortisone shot, which is only a temporary fix. The usual process is at first that takes medication over the counter. And if that doesn't work, usually we will go to our primary doctor and the primary doctor will give us something stronger, something that you know will cover the pain better. And if that doesn't work, usually they'll refer you to a pain clinic. So that's the process today. And when you go to a pain clinic, they're going to give you some really strong medication like opioids. And that is very addictive. Then you become addicted to prescribed medication. So it happens very quickly. Today, we have an opioid epidemic. And people are getting addicted right and left, even an older person like grandma or grandpa can be addicted overnight without realizing it. And I saw in my own eyes when my daughter, she had knee surgery, she had an ACL tear and they did surgery on her, and they said to her for the next two or three days, take this medication, and it was an opioid. And after about 2 or 3 days, we stopped giving her the medication. And sure enough, she started having a reaction; sweating and really reacting like her body craved the medication. So it's amazing how fast it can happen. 50% of the people that are in rehab home, that are addicted to drugs are addicted to prescribed medications. And it's very common, especially when you have back problems, and we see it in our office all the time. People that come in that are taking opioids for back pain. So they go to the doctor and the pain doesn't go away, they don't address the problem properly. And sure enough, they just rely on the medication. So what are opioids? Opioids are like medication like Oxycontin; oxycodone or hydrocodone, or Vicodin. One of the most common opioid is morphine, and a lot of people a
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I'm going to talk to you about how our smartphone can cause massive level of stress and affect our health.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And today we're going to talk about how the cell phone has a tremendous effect on our health and what we're doing today that can affect our health later on. So this is really important information that we're using today, and we need to be careful with our habits. We have an epidemic of burnout and stress today. And it's all started by growing addiction to our phone. There's no answer the day; the phone is constantly on at night and during the day, in the morning. We wake up with the phone, we go to sleep with the phone, and there's no interaction with people. We just interacting with our phones and our computers. The average person spends between 5-7 hours a day on the phone. And we all have a section on the smartphones that tells us how much time we spend on the phone. And it breaks it down to different parts; social media, entertainment, phone time. And basically, it breaks it down per day, and it breaks it down per week. And the average person spends close to 30 hours a week on the phone. So do yourself a big favor and look at it sometimes and monitor your screen time per day and per week, and you'll be very surprised at how much time you spend on the phone; between Facebook, Instagram, social media, emails, games, different apps that we use, even looking at the news.So the biggest group doing this today is the younger generation. And then even goes beyond that. Even they're really young children; 2 years old and up have traded their pacifier for the smartphone. It's become the new babysitter for kids now, and they see it all the time in my office. As I see the kids just on the phone while the mom is getting their adjustments. We have become addicted to social media, we have become addicted to the games. We're addicted to the check inboxes, the Instagram.A lot of people are addicted to the likes, we want to know how many people like my picture or my video, and we're constantly looking at it. So this has created a huge impact on health. And more importantly on mental health. What we have to realize is that this is just the beginning. This is a new thing. It's only going to get bigger and bigger. In right now so least overwhelming it will be, and it's only going to get worse because there is no rules on how to handle this. It's just like when the cars just came out, we were traveling at horse speed about 7-8 miles an hour, and all the sudden the cars came out and they were driving 30-40 miles an hour with no road rules, no speed limits, no red lights, no stop sign. So basically, a lot of people got killed. And it was terrible. And it took a while for the road rules to come in and catch up. It took a while for the road rules to be put in place and the cars were able to go faster. So the information now that's coming in from cars speed, it's going now to speed of light. iPhones or smartphones are about 10 years old, and one of the biggest source of stress that parents have today is basically what's going on with the kids, because the young generation are using the smartphone more than we are. So we're seeing growing incidence of anxiety and depression and suicide, and it's happening more and more.People are not able to disconnect. So the last thing we do before we go to bed at night is we look at the phone and we look at the social media, or read the news. And the first thing we look at in the morning is the same thing, w
Welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today, I'm going to do a show on how the immune system works. What is going to make your immune system stronger and healthier? Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. My name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr, doctor of Chiropractic. Stay tuned. And I'm doing this show to educate the public on health and wellness. And we're going to focus on this body, this amazing body and how it works. So how do we make our immune system stronger? What is the immune system? In the dictionary, it says that the immune system is the defense system that protects you from invaders, pathogen, germs, viruses, bacteria, microbes. And of course, there's bad bacteria and there's good bacteria, there's bad viruses and good viruses. But the immune system recognizes an infection in the body and this sends an army of cells that fights the infection. And the main cell to fight the infection are the white blood cells. And basically, they're part of the army, and they fight to kill the pathogen or the microbe. And the way they do this is an amazing system. The body can make acid to kill the microbe or to dissolve the microbe. It can make poison to kill the microbe or the pathogen. It creates inflammation which helps. It can develop a system called a fever that can also kill a bacteria or virus. When you're young, when a person is young, their immune system is weak. As you get older, the immune system gets stronger. It's like building a muscle; if you want to build a muscle, you have to train your body to make that muscle bigger, it doesn't happen automatically. You have muscles to start with, but to make them strong, you have to work on them, and it takes years. Well, the immune system is the same way. You have to train it. And slowly and surely over the years, it'll get stronger and stronger. And the way it becomes stronger by exposing the body to the germs and the bacteria. We're not designed to live in a germ free environment or a sterile environment like a lot of the kids are growing up today in the sterile environment and they're not being exposed to germs. And they have to be, otherwise they're not going to develop this immunity that the body creates. So when you have an immunity, you develop antibodies and the body is able to remember, it has a memory and then the next time you're exposed to this bacteria or this virus that can make you sick, you're not going to get sick. So the way the body does fight an infection most of the time is with a fever. And I think most people are not informed properly on what a fever is and how it works. Basically, a normal fever is 98 degrees to 100 degrees. And basically what it does, it's part of the immune system to fight infection. So the medical route or the medical approach is basically, well, fever is not good, we've got to get rid of it, we've got to eliminate the fever. And the first thing that most people give a child or an adult for fever is Tylenol or we want to reduce the hearing, we want to put the child in a cold bath, or a lot of times they're given antibiotics. What that does, it's not very specific. And antibiotic will go in your body, it will kill all the germs, the good ones and the bad ones and you end up with a secondary infection a lot of the times, so it defeats the purpose. So you're killing an infection and then you're creating a new one. So there's good germs and bad germs, and we're going to talk about that in a minute. But Tylenol will reduce the fever, but it also has side effects. It can damage the liver, especially in the young person. It can cause some major damage in the liver. When my son was young, he was about a week old, he had an infection due to a procedure that he had done. A
Hello, welcome to Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show. Today I am going to be talking to you about kids health and wellness, how we should be looking at it from a different approach and perspective.Welcome to the Cloverleaf Chiropractic Show, a podcast advocating wellness, life and healing from within. With 38 years in practice, 50,000 patients and over 1 million chiropractic adjustments, here's your host, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr.Hello, my name is Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr. I'm a doctor of Chiropractic. And what we're going to be doing today is teach you how to make our kids healthier and prevent diseases and how to make their immune system stronger. And I hope this information is valuable to you.Health for wellness and prevention in kids starts with education. And we need to start the kids at a young age on how to take care of their health, and how to prevent illness and diseases. That, you know, we don't want our kids to have some of the same illnesses that we have, and we want them to grow up healthy and strong. And basically, as parents, we have to be good role models and we have to teach him what help is by setting a good example. You know, how can you tell a kid to eat their greens, if we don't need our greens? We have to tell them to exercise, but if we don't exercise, how are they going to do it? So we have to set a really good example in the home, and I know I did that with my kids when I was young. So in my office, we educate our kids on wellness in prevention. And chiropractic is all about wellness and prevention, and it starts at a young age. So one of the things that we see in our offices, we see a lot of kids that come in with really bad posture. So of course, we always tell our kid, stand up straight in, be careful with your posture and things like that. So one of the things that we see all the time is kids come in with the Text Neck Syndrome, which is something that happens when you use the phone a lot, and I'll talk about that a little bit more later. But we also see a lot of kids come in with scoliosis, which is curvature of the spine, or we see them coming with kyphosis which is when the neck is really back going forward. So if these kids start out with these things at a young age, later on, it's only going to get worse. So if we see young kid that comes in at a four or five years old and they have a scoliosis, it's so much easier to fix it when you're really young. Because whatever happens when a scoliosis is that it gets worse. And at about age 12-13 years old is when it starts to be really severe, and it can affect your health. So the main thing is that posture is important, because one of the things that we tell our patients is that posture affects your function. So what does that mean? It means that if your posture is bad, you're going to have misalignments in your spine, and that can affect the nerves. And that can affect how your body works or functions. So if you have something going on in your upper part of the neck, and your posture is bad, that can cause things like headaches, it can affect the glands in your neck, the tonsils, and all kinds of things. If you have problems in the lower part of the neck, you can have a problem with asthma and breathing; difficulty breathing, all kinds of things. In the middle of the back, in the mid back pain, if you have problems in those areas that can affect the digestion in the lower back, it can affect the nerves that go to the bladder or the legs or the reproductive organs. So as you get older, you can have more and more problems. So it's important to fix a scoliosis as soon as possible, and the younger they are, the better it is.So one of the things that we see a lot in the office is children or kids that have a weak immune system. And what I hear today a lot is that the germs, the bacteria, the virus are the problem. But what we don't teach and what people are not learning about is that the germs is really not
One of the most mystifying factors that play the key role in healing the body and sustaining with the life's processes is innate intelligence. The word intelligence can give you other ideas as if it's about the brain power, intelligence quotient, or brains dynamics etc. However, innate intelligence is none of them and a much deeper form of natural intelligence. It is actually the inner intelligence of the body and mind, gifted by nature, which is behind the creation of every single cell right from the beginning of life till death.Triggering the innate intelligenceWhether the human life gets threatened by a disease, or pandemic, or accident, wars, or whatever situation, yet life always makes through and finds its way. That's because of this god gifted innate intelligence that every living form on the planet has. Human is blessed more in this regard, because with proper understanding of this intelligence and by practicing to trigger it more through positive channeling of the mind, human beings can win many battles and challenges against the odds. That's what Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr teaches in his podcast show.Fascinating facts about innate intelligenceEvery living form on this earth is designed to reproduce and sustain through their life, without anyone ever prompting them for these things. It's the basic programming at the cellular level done by the miracle of nature, which makes every cell function automatically without ever being told what to do. Human, being the most advanced species on earth can gain control on using his wisdom and life's energy, to use the power of the innate intelligence to the fullest. In fact this has nothing to do with IQ or physical strength, and therefore every person has this life's vital force within him or her. What the expert has to sayDr. Daniel Abeckjerr talks about using the forces of this to create a better, powerful and healthier life. In his podcast, Dr. Daniel Abeckjerr discusses how anyone can learn to use his innate intelligence, and fight any odd situation, and even the most challenging health issues. The doctor's guidance in the podcast pinpoints every such factor which may go unnoticed in the daily life, but when recognized with mindfulness can create wonders.
