Show Notes Back into the world of propaganda and lack of narrative throughline, we learn about birds, burritos and piñatas this week as we discuss The Three Caballeros (no, not Los Tres but The Three…). Donald Duck once again wants to learn all about places and kin from south of the equator. From heat seeking penguins to sex-starved ducks (that's Donald doing an excellent Pepe Le Pew impersonation) we get to see so many birds outside of their natural habitats and needing to use a magic sarape to fly. Reminder: it is explicit propaganda - mostly for the sexiness of Brazilian women. We watch Steve Zahn break all of those rules – probably – much to the detriment of his brother and everyone else they come in contact with in 2001's Joy Ride. In a movie that is way better than it needs to be, we are off on an ill-advised, infatuation infused road trip that couldn't go worse. If you have heard of this movie but haven't seen it, it's likely that you are only privy to the first 20 minutes of the film. It's tense, but it gets wild after we leave the house from which the call is coming. Carol Kane shows off her lungs. A husband listens to and believes his wife. An ex-cop goes rogue. And Colleen Dewhurst just tries to get a damn drink. All of them circle a very sick, very disturbed man played in an unnervingly sympathetic way.
