Aber auch andere, illustre Gestalten wie Vampire, Serienkiller, Affen mit Cymbals, Dr. Akula und Vulkanier geben sich wieder die Ehre. GeekZone wieder larger than life, sozusagen - kein Wunder, das da auch schon mal die Handlung einer Doku auf einmal langweilig und unglaubwürdig wirkt. Trotzdem sind wir alle unglaublich befriedigt, so viel Quicky gabs in der GeekZone noch nie. Nur Tax, der vergisst schonmal worums beim schnellen Spaß eigentlich geht bzw. definiert sich selbst als fertig, während seine Mitspieler... ach ihr kennt das ja. Oder auch nicht. Paleontologists have identified an ancient reptile with a towering crest made not of skin, or scales, or feathers, or antler—but something else entirely. It's some kind of integumentary outerwear we've never seen before. The small creature sporting the curious crest was named Mirasaura grauvogeli, and it lived during the Middle Triassic period, about 247 million years ago, just before dinosaurs evolved. Host Flora Lichtman talks to evolutionary biologist Richard Prum about this dramatic dorsal mystery and what it tells us about the evolution of dinosaurs, birds, and feathers. Plus, how fast did dinosaurs run? It turns out that the equation scientists have been using for five decades to estimate dinosaur speeds is not completely accurate. Ganz ehrlich: Ich bin wegen Scarlett Johansson ins Kino gegangen. Und das war keine schlechte Entscheidung, denn erstens ist sie fast in jeder Szene zu sehen und zweitens ist der Film, den sie (und Jonathan Bailey) mit ihrer Star-Power retten soll, ziemlich solide. Ich mache nicht den nostalgischen Fehler, JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH mit dem ersten JURASSIC PARK zu vergleichen.Und mit realistischen Erwartungen gesehen ist das gute Unterhaltung. Die Saurier sind überzeugend, der Schauplatz perfekt gewählt, immer wieder klingt die Musik von John Williams an, die Helden sind nicht um einen Spruch verlegen, es gibt niedliche Kinder und sogar einen niedlichen Saurier. Es gibt einen geldgierigen Corporate-Man und Nebenfiguren, die zwischen den scharfen Zähnen der Dinos verschwinden. Eigentlich alles dabei.Aber mir als Zuschauer ging es wie den Menschen zu Anfang des Films: Die Begeisterung für Dinosaurier ist einfach verflogen. Für richtiges Mitfiebern reicht es daher im siebten Jurassic-Film nicht. Im Podcast direkt nach dem Film diskutieren wir unter anderem über Originalität und Tricktechnik. Dementsprechend knapp und frühzeitig fallen dann auch die Streaming-Tipps aus, da eben noch nicht allzu viel bekannt war zum Zeitpunkt unserer Aufzeichnung. Die Bezeichnung unseres Berufes klingt fast genauso alt wie die Dinge, die die beliebte Wissenschaft aus dem Verborgenen holt. Aus dem altgriechischen ins Deutsche übersetzt heißt der Beruf soviel wie “altseiend”. Das Wissenslexikon Wikipedia bescheibt unseren Beruf als die “Wissenschaft von den Lebewesen der geologischen Vergangenheit.” Es geht um Überreste und Hinterlassenschaften, die älter als 10.000 Jahre sind! Um die zu finden, wird u.a. vorsichtig gebuddelt, gebürstet und gepustet. Man will ja nichts kaputtmachen beim Ausgraben der Vergangenheit. Schicht für Schicht Erde abtragen, auf der Suche nach Knochen, die man auch Fossilien nennt. Das gehört bei dem gesuchten Beruf zur Standardaufgabe. Jeder Fund wird dokumentiert. Also aufgeschrieben, abgezeichnet oder fotografiert. So wurden zum Beispiel Skelette von Dinosauriern entdeckt, die seit vielen Millionen Jahren vergraben waren. In China wurde z.B. ein 70 Millionen Jahre altes Nest mit ungeschlüpften Dino-Eiern gefunden. Sie liefern den Beweis, dass Dinosaurier auf ihren Eiern saßen, um sie zu wärmen - ähnlich wie Hühner. In Südafrika fanden Forschende Nester, die zeigen, dass Dinos ihre Kinder geimeinsam in Gruppen versorgten - Dinos gingen also auch in die Kita und zur Schule, könnte man sagen. Und?
