What we believe about ourselves starts to take shape from day one. The holidays aren't just hard on grown people without partners or families or tons of money or beliefs that support a tradition like Christmas… Holidays are also hard on kids that, for better or worse, often come to believe in something bigger than themselves- We call it Santa… Later in life many will call it God. To be disregarded or forgotten is an unfortunate reality of life at times. One which, I think we can all agree, should never happen to a child. No one gets it exactly right but the good news is that most people are out here being real helpers. Holiday or not your awareness and presence in this life will only lead to better- Everyday in every way. @tiny.mic.micro.news --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lindsay-carter7/message

Being ghosted is one of life's cruel realities. Whether you're the ghoul, the goblin, the ghost or dating one the truth will always be the same… We must learn to lose and we must learn when to leave. Ghosting isn't just reserved for romantic relationships either. We see it in “friendships”, potential employers, volunteer hopefuls. It's everywhere! Ghosting, icing someone out- whatever you call it, for better or worse it's become a common practice. Where do you stand on ghosting? How do you cope when it happens to you? Whether you're being ghosted or are someone who needs to ghost, boundaries make all the difference in happy and healthy relationships with others and with yourself. In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue Seeking fortune and fame By mistake to the Caribbean he came On his first day, six natives he seized This bozo did as he pleased Ushering in native oppression All for a little extra possession European colonization would begin to unfold And the truth was never to be told Settlers began to take a land already occupied Destroying with disease, violence, and treaties that belied Pilgrims, claiming to seek religious freedom Natives showed up to feed ‘em Invasion, brutality and forced assimilation Is really what started a nation This was not a discovery of new land It was a discovery of character for which I do not stand Columbus Day is out Real history is what we must shout. Thank you @amypoehlersmartgirls for giving us the wisdom and power of “Good for her, not for me”. Since the dawn of time women have been blamed, abused, persecuted, and silenced. I stand firmly in that it must stop and we should NEVER be doing that to one another. Seeing the abortion rights of women in Texas decimated is a blow to women everywhere. It's a natural part of being human… Seeking proof of what we already believe. This is why so many of us stay stuck repeating the same patterns and why some of us continue to support blatantly corrupt politicians. It is exhausting to consciously and critically question and change our long held beliefs about life, other people, and our selves. Exhausting but worth it.

Hey hey hey! This weekend was full of big learns and new experiences from alien watching to unprecedented heat waves. I've never given much thought to UFOs or the like in the past but in my adventures with people who have I took away some powerful lessons about the human desire to belong and seek out truth. It comes as no surprise that the truth of humanity is that we have done damage to our planet- A place we must all share. I believe there is still so much good we can do and that collectively we can make our world something it has never been before: Just, renewable, and safe. @tiny.mic.micro.news --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lindsay-carter7/message
It's too hot out there right now for hope alone. If this heat bubble is a preview of what's to come, if the beginning of a relationship is a preview of the end how do we choose to move forward? Who's been objectified based on what you look like? Who's looked in the mirror and felt disgusted or angry at what you see? Who's been told what they should do or wear or be like to be more appealing? Who's struggled to meet an ideal in order to feel like you're enough? If you are female or femme identifying you can likely answer yes to one, if not all, of these questions. A woman's value is not in her youth and beauty- Something we must remind ourselves and each other of in a society that continues to teach us that we are only valuable if we meet the patriarchal ideal of “beauty”. Our bodies have gotten us through every bad thing that's ever happened to us. Our bodies can bring life into this world. Our bodies heal when they're sick or broken. Our bodies shield others from harm. We have character and creativity and wisdom and I want to acknowledge that in each of you

Who doesn't love a good meme?! Masks and memes have saved lives! Memes also got us all more involved and engaged with the 2020 election. There is truly a meme and a mask for every occasion. Politics, science, religion, racism, and other systems of belief have divided us and given many a false sense of entitlement when sharing public spaces for far to long. We are in this together. One could argue that the ordinance of the fully vaccinated no longer needing masks coupled with states using lotteries to encourage the vaccine hesitant makes this more about opening up the economy than it does about public health. Respect for both the vaccinated and unvaccinated is a must, so how do we begin to build trust with our fellow citizens as life begins to return to some version of “normal”? @tiny.mic.micro.news --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lindsay-carter7/message

As we celebrate the brave women who have come before us and those who rise with us now let's just hit the highlights reel of what women have accomplished in this past year… Government responses to COVID-19: In countries with women leaders, including New Zealand, Germany, Finland, Bangladesh and more, the quick and decisive actions of the women in charge led to lower cases and lower deaths. The first female vice president was elected to office in the United States @vp Period products are now free in Scotland. Afghan citizens will soon have their mothers' names printed along with their fathers' on their ID cards. Equal pay for women soccer players in Brazil and Sierra Leone. New Zealand appointed its first Indigenous female Foreign Minister. @nanaia_mahuta Yall! The patriarchy is being ushered out and, folks, the future is female. This month is not only Womens history month but will also mark a year of navigating a global pandemic for most of us. I know I've been reflecting on that a lot lately because a year ago this girl was in a vastly different place than I am today. There's another woman that I can't help but think about lately… On March 13th it will be a year since the unjust death of Beonna Taylor. And for me she might be the most influential woman of the past year. For all women, all femme presenting humans, and all the people who love us lets rise together and move together so no lives lost will have been in vein. We will not put down our Black Lives Matter signs. We will not end the micro activism. We will not take a back seat on gender inequality. History does repeat it's self. Our personal histories. Our family histories. The history of the world. Let's continue to rewrite the story ladies. Let's give the future something worthy of repeating. Equality, inclusion, human rights. This episode was originally published on January 11th, 2021. I want to talk about friction and stability and how sometimes we need a little friction to find our stability in where we stand or in what we're trying to accomplish. The marches many of participated in this summer, the black owned and indigenous businesses we chose to recognize and support- that's the revolution. That is the spark of social justice. That is community. That was the popular vote last November. What we saw last Thursday at the Capital was a planned coo and an embarrassment. The call right now is to allow the friction to stabilize you in what you believe and what you know to be TRUE justice. Let the friction stabilize us and let the resistance strengthen us to have the hard conversations and maintain compassion for those we do not understand. Allow the resistance to strengthen us to stay the course and to begin. And remember there is no voice too small to be heard.
