Two Doting Dads is a podcast series that follows the parenting escapades of two good mates, Matty J and Ash Wicks. Like all good modern relationships, they met on Instagram and instantly bonded over the fact that they were both sleep-deprived Dads doing their best to dote over their two children. The Two Doting Dads podcast is an absolute gem that I stumbled upon recently. With its relatable content and hilarious banter, I was instantly hooked and had to give them a follow on Instagram. To my surprise, they also have a podcast with the equally funny Matty J. As a 30-year-old woman from America with no kids or ties to Australia, I initially thought I wouldn't have much business listening to this podcast. However, that didn't stop me from bingeing it for three straight days and laughing my heart out at their marriage banter.
One of the best aspects of The Two Doting Dads podcast is their sense of humor. Ash and Matty J's humor is right up my alley - the cruder, the better. Their no-nonsense conversations and common-sense approach to life are incredibly refreshing and entertaining. Their guests add another layer of hilarity, and their stories about their families provide endless laughs. Additionally, their "dad advice" is not only humorous but also relatable and genuine.
Another great aspect of this podcast is its ability to keep me entertained even though I have no children. As a listener tuning in from Los Angeles, I'm not part of their target audience of parents. Nevertheless, the podcast still manages to keep me in stitches constantly during my daily commute in LA traffic. The episodes are so funny that even when I accidentally click on one that I've already listened to, I rarely switch it over because it's just as enjoyable the second or third time around.
While there aren't many negative aspects to mention about The Two Doting Dads podcast, one minor downside is its focus on parenting topics. As someone without children myself, some episodes may feel less relevant to me compared to parents or those interested specifically in parenting discussions. However, this doesn't take away from the overall entertainment value of the podcast.

Becky Lucas is one of Australia's favourite comedians. She knows how to disarm a crowd with her endearing humour and quick wit as she tries to express how she really feels about the state of the world. In 2023 when Becky was pregnant, she went in for a routine scan and found out that her baby had a complex heart condition that would require open heart surgery.
