Meditate on your mission, and then use your gifts and talents to live your life with purpose. In doing so, you will become an unending magnet for miracles.”Tricia Copeland has a number of book series in categories including romance, young adult fiction, dystopian and short stories, and my favourite, the being me series from which the quote was and includes the books Is this me?, If I could fly, Think you know me, Being Me. Tricia understands the feelings of body dysmorphia and shaming and has walked her own journey recovering from anorexia. She writes to be a light for those in need, to help others know they are not alone and to show the way to recovery and healing through sharing her own story. She explains how there were many who carried her through her own recovery when she could not walk on her, and she is giving back to you a different perspective. Now this show is called what the flab, all about weight loss with and without surgery -  and some of you may be wondering why I have asked Tricia to be on the show and she has never had obesity. I asked Tricia to discuss her journey through losing weight and the mental side of weight loss and body dysmorphia, as these are often the same journey at opposite ends of the scale where food has become something that is viewed as “bad for us”. Where people with obesity desperately want to lose weight because of they are fat, someone with anorexia desperately wants to lose weight because they feel they are too fat. "II felt as though I were dying. And you know what the doctor said to me? That they couldn't help me, that I'd done this to myself. Harsh.  And not true.  Yes, I started out “in control” of my dieting but it took on a life of its own. I couldn't stop the thoughts in my head that told me I needed to starve to stay skinny anymore than I could make the earth stop spinning. " Tricia Copeland.Eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses are serious diseases. In this episode, we explore what was behind Tricia's struggle with her body and food and how the book series Being Me are helping people on both sides of their weight journeys. You can contact Tricia on her website and social media. As tricia Says "Each of us are magical. Whether transforming hearts, lives, numbers, ideas, art, music, or simply enjoying nature, we emanate magic every day. Flab is a term used for the excess weight held particularly on arms, legs tummies and butts, and also applies to the loose skin when a large amount of weight is lost along with the skin tone.It also refers to the fact that I believe everyone who has been obese, or overweight, had had many WTF moments in their lives, so yes, at times you may exchange the WTF.lab with WTF! However, the .lab is all about the positive approach to weight loss with small changes you can implement today, wherever you are on your journey. I am all about seizing opportunities, and as someone who was 196.4kgs (440lbs) and has lost a whole person before WLS, I know a little about the journey and plan to help you with great tips and encouragement for how you too can join me on the losers bench (the good one!).Do you know the difference between and dream and a goal? Spoiler alert!
