Can fashion be truly ethical if it's not inclusive? And what would it take for a fashion brand to actually achieve inclusivity? Kat Eves is a sustainable, ethical, and inclusive fashion stylist and the founder of Style Ethic. She talks about the challenges of finding plus-size clothes (and the even greater challenge of finding ethical and sustainable plus-size clothes), and suggests ways that fashion brands can better serve the 67% of American women who wear a size 14 or larger. Kat talks about fast fashion, overconsumption, and shares how reading Elizabeth Cline's book Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion inspired her to go from shopaholic to doing a shopping ban. She also talks about her favorite pieces in her closet, what's inspiring her right now, and what makes her feel optimistic about the future. Welcome to episode #34 of @thepfwcpodcast PSA - We had some technical difficulties leading up to recording this episode so we do apologize for the low quality sound. Hopefully it doesn't affect your listening experience too much! This week I sat down with the gorgeous & empowering reality television star, Sean Taylor. Sean was a contestant on season one of The Circle and is now helping big bellied babes feel hot & find clothing that they can feel confident in. Sean opened up about her experience on The Circle and some of the harsh realities of being a plus size woman on reality television. Sean shared her experience with body image, how she navigates it every day, and how we can show ourselves and our bodies a little more love and grace. Sean was able to use her experience on The Circle to empower so many individuals and create a safe space in which people could be feel heard and less alone. I am so thankful for Sean and the conversation we had - she is such a badass! If there is one thing that Sean and I hope you take away from todays episode it's that your body does not define your worth and you are deserving of love toward yourself no matter your size. And lastly, let's remember that just because someone shows up confident online doesn't mean that they don't have hard days, so let's not hold them to that standard! If you are interested in learning more about what Ilona is doing or joining her community, you can find her on Instagram and Tiktok or if you live in Richmond, Virginia keep an eye out for Sean's IRL events! If this episode resonates with you, please leave a rating + review! Also, feel free to share today's episode or any other episode with friends and family. Your support means the world to me. In this episode, I share a bit of my experience being a high BMI woman birthing in the system, and at home having my VBA2C freebirth. There is a lot of shame and guilt in our society aimed at bigger bodies. With magazine covers, movies & fashion focusing heavily on looking at certain way and size. Often when bigger women are put in magazines people come out in fury stating that it is offensive, or unhealthy to show a bigger body - that it is going to somehow make everyone turn obese magically. Yet - severely underweight people's bodies are constantly being shown and often promoted as "healthy" when in fact they are often not. Double standards in our society. When it comes to birthing in a system that discriminates against bigger bodies with some health care providers treating bigger women less compassionately - you can read more in this study here - https://bmcpregnancychildbirth.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1471-2393-13-19?fbclid=IwAR0UjMKil9LISmQxvFfz7WgsKXTkrtJ1DEse-4WRuRO2xk7SZ6wb_38lfpg I share a bit about my journey with a bigger body, talking about conceiving and birthing with a bigger body and how I was treated. I've learned to love my body and have some acceptance and plenty of love for my body. She created three healthy babies. What an amazing body. Come and listen to this episode to learn more about the journey I've been through and why I decided to show the world my birth photos (when I was super worried about my doulas seeing me naked, to begin with).

The Novel: The Accidental Pinup The Author: Danielle JacksonThe Guest: Caleb Thomas, Boudoir Photographer The Synopsis: Photographer Cassie Harris loves her job—her company Buxom Boudoir makes people look beautiful and feel empowered with her modern twist on classic pinup photography.
