Fatty acids are derived from 3 distinct sources: 1. Digestion of dietary triacylglycerol; 2. Biosynthesis in the liver; 3. Lipolysis of stored triacylglycerol in adipose tissue. Fatty acids play several key cellular roles in energy production, energy storage, membrane synthesis, and inflammation.

Do not get gallbladder removal surgery unless you have to! Learn more about gallbladder stones, gallbladder function, and the side effects of gallbladder removal. Find out why gallbladder removal isn't the only solution! 0:00 Introduction: Do not get your gallbladder removed!0:15 Gallbladder surgery 0:53 Gallbladder function 3:12 Gallbladder stones 3:56 Gallbladder removal lies6:25 Problems from gallbladder removal8:30 What causes gallstones?10:58 How to increase bile and prevent gallbladder stones DATA:https://lifewithnogallbladder.org/https://surgeonadamharris.com/understanding-the-long-term-side-effects-of-gallbladder-removalSupport a healthy gallbladder with Healthy Keto® and intermittent fasting. This FREE guide shows you how: https://drbrg.co/470t2J6The gallbladder is a small sac that sits below the liver with the following important functions:•Bile storage and concentration•Regulation of bile release •Cholesterol regulation•Antimicrobial functions•Hunger and blood sugar control•Detox support •Helps trigger the antioxidant glutathione Bile is vital for the breakdown of fats, so you can absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, K1, K2, and omega-3 fatty acids. Bile can also help thyroid hormones work more efficiently. Gallbladder removal surgery is often the result of gallbladder stones. Gallstones come from a lack of bile. People are often told the following lies and convinced into gallbladder removal surgery:•There are no other options.•A diseased gallbladder causes gallstones.•You can't prevent gallstones with diet.•Gallbladder removal does not cause complications.•Post-cholecystectomy is controversial.•Gallstones that result from pregnancy require gallbladder removal surgery. Gallstones can be caused by high levels of estrogen, being overweight, and diabetes, but one of the biggest gallbladder stone causes is high insulin!Insulin resistance resulting from chronically high insulin levels can prevent the liver from producing adequate bile and weaken the gallbladder. A low-carb diet and intermittent fasting are the best solutions for gallbladder stones. Your microbes also produce bile, so anything that destroys them can affect bile. Antibiotics and low-fat, low-cholesterol diets increase the risk for gallstones.Fatty fish has the most potent effect on bile production. You can also increase bile with cholesterol foods such as butter, eggs, shellfish, seafood, and liver. Egg yolks and liver are high in choline, a key nutrient vital for bile production. Bitter greens, arugula, radish, celery, and sauerkraut can help make additional bile salts.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Marginal Gainers are familiar with Best Bike Split -- the website where using rider data you can forecast a finish time on a specific course. It has been a great tool for years for amateurs and pros alike. Josh has frequently referenced BBS on the show. Fatty and Hottie have discussed it on their Leadville Podcast. But we wanted to know what is under the hood. For that we turn to its founder Ryan Cooper. Before Best Bike Split, Ryan was a lot like us: a competitor with the hopes of going faster. Unlike most of us, he's really good at math. His ability to come up with equations and sus out variables gave him the tools to invent Best Bike Split. But the inspiration was more of an experiment -- a story will leave for him. In the interview, Ryan shares what he can about how BBS comes up with its forecasted times. He also talks about some new features he has in the works like factoring in tarmac conditions to better hone in on times. Ryan also wants listeners to get a taste of BBS and he is extending a discount to listeners of the pod. Use the code MARGAINS25 for a discount and as Ryan says: Race smarter. Ride faster. Win more.

On this series Sarcastro and Queen Mel pick a show from yesteryear and maybe grab a couple of guests from around the POoRCHoices offices and recap just the first episode of said show while dissecting it and determining if it's a show that would fly in today's entertainment landscape. In the season two opener of The First Ones Sarcastro and Queen Mel are joined by guest commentator Fatty and producer Banky to talk about Blansky's Beauties, A Garry Marshall show that was so good at getting cancelled they made the same show twice using several of the cast members under a different show name and on two networks. Starring Nancy Walker of Rhoda and The Dick van Dyke Show fame, as Nancy Blansky, a showbiz veteran who is spending her twilight years raising her nephews (played by Eddie Mekka and a very young Scott Baio) while managing a group of show girls at what may be one of the seediest hotels in Las Vegas. Oh did we mention there's a Great Dane named Blackjack in the show, because, why not? Intro interpreted and performed by Sarcastro

Daniel opens with banter about new playing cards and practicing a small card-magic routine, joking he might “turn a few tricks” at Friday at Fatty's. Plans for the Charleston weekend surface: dinner with Larry H. Vader (but no Fort Sumter), plus some ribbing about bow ties and superiority complexes. The chat swings into running injuries—Daniel describes taking a spill mid-run and finishing anyway—and a vow to avoid knocking out miles on a hotel treadmill.Contact arrives with the “3, 2, 1… Contact!” sting. There are no emails, sparking a tangent about connecting Gmail to “Alice” to auto-check the inbox. Later they circle back to play a voicemail and roast the caller's phone quality, with a side track on “Yale New Heaven.”Adam cues The News Game: five multiple-choice headlines (Daniel answers before hearing options), followed by a rapid Disney Trivial Pursuit lightning round. Birthdays come next with the weekly celebrity-birthday guessing game, complete with Pee-wee's Playhouse nostalgia. The Technology segment closes the show: a plain-English Web3 explainer and “.locker” domain confusion, vape pen standards (it's 510 threads), and cast-iron basics—why the polymerized “seasoning” builds that protective “armor.”Email: Contact@MixMinusPodcast.comVoice: 707-613-3284
Rabbit, Rabbit! The Fat One kicks off the new month with a recap of his weekend which included technology problems, Friday at Fatty's, the new computer, some Big Brother nattering and sportsball! Happy National Gyro Day.
This week the whole gang is back together for the first time in months to discuss fine dining and deals from places like Olive Garden and Chili's. Learning the hard way that they're all breaking down (body-wise) as Corporal talks about how he ended up with a hernia that needed to be repaired immediately. Fatty gets a shoulder injury from playing video games just days before he received a load of firewood to the cabin that needed to be stacked. Sarcastro is still nursing a broken toe but muscles through playing volleyball. Banky overextends a muscle in his ribs by just existing and then learns everything makes it hurt. Commando pops a muscle in his forearm while handling some landscaping duties. Commando also buys an e-bike while on vacation and becomes the envy of the group. In the realm of poor choices, Fatty gets a reminder of the golden rule when it comes to spending money on a boat, leave well enough alone. They also reminisce about the rear facing seats in the cars they grew up riding in. Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar)

Daniel and Adam fire up a late-night edition of The Gay Mix, already a bit frazzled by technical hiccups with video and music cues. Daniel reveals that he just wrapped a long planning call with Big Fatty, setting the stage for their upcoming trip to “Friday at Fatty's.” Listeners of Level 13 will get to hear that conversation as a bonus release. The pair spend much of the episode bouncing between personal updates and future plans, with Daniel noting that this week's show won't run too long given the late start. Adam talks about being “discombobulated” by the glitches, and the two laugh about how podcasting chaos has practically become tradition. There's also chatter about their September travels, community events, and the logistics of recording while on the road.Despite the short runtime, the familiar banter, inside jokes, and listener shout-outs are all there. Between planning trips, poking fun at one another, and wrangling tech gremlins, the episode captures the essence of what makes The Gay Mix a fan favorite: a mix of personal storytelling, listener connection, and good-natured chaos.Email: Contact@MixMinusPodcast.comVoice: 707-613-3284

This week Sarcastro, Fatty, and Banky get together to discuss the first episode of the twenty-seventh epsiode of South Park and how it was a return to what they liked best about the show. Fatty shares that he finally received his official Founders Club card for Casa Bonita and a pack of stickers he's been waiting for. Banky watches yet another bad movie, How to Kill Monster, but in all fairness both Corporal and Fatty warned him about and also watched 1994's live action Street Fighter movie all the way through for the first time. Sarcastro Finally watches a Wes Anderson film and picke, The Phoenician Scheme, and couldn't make it past the first 41 minutes of it based on the plot and script but did say the acting was good. Fatty asks for validation on the idea of adding a porta-potty to the back yard of the cabin as an extra bathroom once the other upgrades are done. Sarcastro solves the mystery of his missing Our POoRCHoices the Podcast branded cup. Fatty shares his upcoming poor choice, having his father stay with him and feed him for the upcoming weekend and he would seem to have an even more select taste palate than Commando does. Sarcastro procrastinates on getting his belonging ready for vacation. Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar)

(1:30) She has worked in organ transplant centers. Fatty liver disease is a carbohydrate or sugar problem, but patients were never taught that. Patients had always been told it was a problem with fat, protein, or fried foods. Dietitians need to be reflective and question the information they are recommending. (3:30) As a pharmaceutical rep, she realized she was peddling meds and not helping, and she hit her tipping point. (5:00) She discovered the low-carb and ketogenic health space, and now she feels she has found her purpose in teaching a healthy lifestyle. They discuss misinformation regarding carbs and “complex carbs.” (14:00) Shannon reviews her medical education and what she was advised to teach diabetics about carbs. (15:00) Besides interventions in dietary guidelines and metabolic health, The Presidential Physical Fitness Test for students should be required in schools again. (33:00) Kids have become sedentary, and they become adults who sit in cubicles. (42:00) The amount of medications prescribed for metabolic health is skyrocketing. (45:00) Weight Loss Medications Shannon is not opposed to medications; however, she firmly believes there is a place for them when truly necessary. (49:00) However, GLP-1s are overprescribed without a full understanding of their side effects, and oftentimes for minor weight loss. For example, hyperplasia: fat cells get smaller, but they multiply. This means that when you get off the drug, you will gain fat back, and in larger amounts. Side effects are loss of muscle and bone, digestive paralysis, optic nerve damage, erectile dysfunction, suppressed autophagy, and much more. There are natural ways to boost your own body's GLP-1. Gastroenterologist Anuj Vikrant Sharma discusses his article, "Fatty liver disease is no longer reserved for older adults." He warns of a quiet epidemic of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver condition now increasingly appearing in people in their 20s and 30s who may not appear outwardly unhealthy. Anuj explains that a primary, and often overlooked, driver is the gut-liver axis. The modern Western diet, high in ultra-processed, low-fiber foods, disrupts the gut microbiome, leading to a "leaky gut" that allows harmful substances to travel to the liver and cause inflammation and fat accumulation. The conversation explores why this connection explains the rise of MASH in younger, non-obese patients and makes a compelling case for a "gut-first" strategy. Listeners will learn why we need earlier screening and a renewed focus on food quality over calorie counting to prevent and reverse this silent but progressive disease before irreversible damage occurs. The Secret Sauce for Shedding Pounds isn't just about diet or workouts—it's your liver. In this episode, Nurse Doza breaks down how your liver impacts fat loss through detox, blood sugar regulation, hormone balance, inflammation reduction, and mindset. If you're stuck in your weight loss journey, your liver may be the key. 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS The liver produces antioxidants like glutathione that directly reduce inflammation and support fat metabolism. Hormone balance—especially estrogen and cortisol regulation—depends on liver health. Blood sugar regulation starts with the liver, which stores and processes glucose after meals. Fat cells become inflamed without proper liver function, leading to leptin resistance and weight gain. Sustainable fat loss requires mindset shifts—and liver support helps you regain control.
