Send us a Text Message. We've all experienced that simmering frustration, that white-hot surge of rage that seems to hijack our thoughts and actions. Anger is a powerful force, one that can strain relationships, compromise our judgment, and even jeopardize our health. For years, we've grappled with methods to tame this formidable emotion, from deep breathing exercises to therapy sessions. But what if the true key to conquering anger lies not in managing the symptom, but in understanding and dismantling its very source? In this paradigm-shifting conversation, Dr. Mort Orman, a physician with over four decades of experience studying the intricate workings of anger, unveils a revolutionary perspective that challenges our conventional beliefs. Drawing from his years of research and personal transformation, Dr. Orman reveals that anger doesn't originate from external triggers, but from our own internal filters – the unconscious lenses through which we interpret reality.Brace yourself as he deconstructs the three pivotal filters that fuel our anger, shedding light on how our brains inadvertently distort situations, assign blame, and generate emotional turmoil. His insights offer a profound realization: the very anger we grapple with stems not from the actions of others, but from our own fallible perceptions. Here are the key insights you'll gain from this eye-opening discussion:  - Understand the three unconscious filters that shape your perception of reality and trigger anger - Learn how to recognize the "fake news" your brain automatically generates, fueling emotional upheaval - Discover practical exercises to counteract these distorted narratives and regain control over your emotions - Cultivate a deeper awareness of your own fallibility, enabling you to respond with clarity instead of reactivityBut this conversation is more than just a theoretical exploration. With candor and clarity, Dr. Orman outlines a self-directed approach to disarming anger at its source, empowering you to reclaim your emotional sovereignty. Through real-life examples and thought-provoking exercises, he equips you with the tools to navigate life's inevitable frustrations with a newfound sense of inner peace and resilience.Whether you're a seasoned anger-management seeker or someone seeking a fresh perspective, this conversation promises a transformative shift in your understanding and approach to anger. Prepare to have your worldview shaken as you embark on a journey towards true emotional mastery, one that begins with the recognition of your own fallibility and the power to rewrite the narratives that have held you captive.Guest Links:https://docorman.com/https://www.facebook.com/docormanhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/docormanhttps://www.youtube.com/@angerfreedomtheangersolution.orgThe Book:https://www.amazon.com/dp/1990090168/ Sponsors:My PillowFree MyPillow Promo Code "TFM" for up to 80% off your entire order at MyPillow!   Get up to 80% off EVERYTHING at MyPillow with promo code "TFM"! Week #18- James 1:19-20- Ep. 131 “Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for a man's anger does not accomplish God's righteousness.” Takeaways -Anger and frustration can harm our emotional well-being and relationships. -It is important to be slow to anger and quick to listen. -Managing our emotions and cultivating peace can lead to a better quality of life. -Allowing minor frustrations to cause major problems is detrimental to our well-being. It's important to reflect on how we treat our children and work on controlling our anger. -Being authentic and genuine is crucial, especially when teaching children about faith. -Feeling like a hypocrite is a common struggle, but it's important to acknowledge and address it. -Recognizing our mistakes and striving to improve is a sign of growth and maturity. Our righteousness is found in Christ and is grounded in His grace. -Being quick to listen and slow to speak is a valuable trait. So this book, you'll see I'll have it on the cover of each episode, was found at my grandparents' house after my grandmother died, and my grandfather, it was his, passed away almost five years ago. And the reason why it was on my heart to do this was instead of going by myself, it would be the best How is the best way for fathers or grandfathers to read through Scripture, 52 specific verses, and then how it can be used in their life? So what Daniel and I are going to do is we're going to use the SOAP method: The term "SOAP method" is often associated with a structured approach to studying and reflecting on scripture. The SOAP method is an acronym that stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. It provides a systematic way to engage with and apply the teachings found in the Bible. Here's a brief overview of each step: 1. **Scripture:**    - Choose a passage or verse from the Bible to focus on. Read and meditate on the selected scripture. 2. **Observation:**    - Reflect on the passage and observe details such as keywords, themes, and any significant context. Consider the historical and cultural context of the passage. 3. **Application:**    - Apply the teachings of the scripture to your own life. Consider how the passage can impact your beliefs, attitudes, and actions. Think about practical steps you can take based on the insights gained from the scripture. 4. **Prayer:**    - Conclude your reflection with a prayer. Communicate with God about what you've learned, express gratitude, seek guidance, or ask for strength to apply the lessons from the scripture. One of the seminal mannerisms that defines a person of faith is the control that he has over anger. The believer, even if he becomes angry, manages to keep that anger in check, and not act or speak upon that anger. Allah describes the people of taqwa as those who ‘…control their anger’ [كاظمين الغيظ]. ... Read more

In this episode, Jeremiah and E discuss anger again, this time from the perspective of how to control it.  In approaching our own anger, it is important to consider it before it happens, be mindful of it while we're experiencing it, and to examine it after we've felt it as well.  Anger can not only be a tool for pointing us towards deeper emotions, but it can also help us strengthen our significant relationships if we understand how to interact with it and harness it.  The goal isn't to be perfect, but rather to continue growing and edifying ourselves as well as those around us.

In this episode, Jeremiah and E discuss anger, understanding it and how to communicate through it.  Healthy anger states, “I am angry because I am valuable and am not being treated as valuable.” It is connected to our sense of self.  Anger can get a bit of a bad rap, but it isn't a bad emotion.  It only becomes hurtful in the way that we use it and communicate with it.  Consider the differences between observation and perception, take pause and ask yourself what is beneath this anger that I am feeling.  The problem with anger isn't in that you feel it, it's in how you express it.  Let it act as a compass for guiding you towards different outcomes that meet your needs and wants.
