In Episode 764, Sean is joined by Josh Bass and Marcus Barahal of Locked On Nets for a Locked On Crossover preview of the Raptors' first round series with the Nets, but not before he addresses the developing story around Adrian Griffin being accused of domestic violence by his former wife. After Sean addresses the notably muted statement from the Raptors on the Griffin issue, Sean chats with Josh and Marcus about why the Nets were able to have success in the bubble despite their roster being decimated before the Disney restart. They also chat about how the Raptors have looked in the bubble so far, and whether there are any soft spots that could pose an issue for Toronto either in this series, or later in the playoffs. Lastly they talk through their predictions for the series, and diagnose some interesting match-ups to keep an eye on. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! When Sean was a kid, he found out he was adopted. That news created some conflict in him and challenged his identity. He began to rebel against his adopted parents, but some sage wisdom from his grandmother quickly set him straight. Sean returned to loving and appreciating the family he was a part of, but his desire to understand his identity never left. Older and married to his high school sweetheart, Sean’s family began to grow. He said that seeing his world in his oldest daughter’s eyes made him even more sensitive to his biological mother’s tough choice to let him go. After Sean finally mailed his introductory letter to his biological mother, which he had re-drafted several times over the years, he was finally able to reunite with her. He learned some of the ways that he’s just like his mother, and how one of his childhood sports heroes is actually his cousin! Hey, it’s Damon today. I have the pleasure of introducing you to Sean as a kid. When he found out he was adopted, he created some conflict in him and challenged his identity. But some sage wisdom from one of the elders in his family set him straight again so that he could return to loving and appreciating the family he was already a part of. When he got a little older, married his high school sweetheart and their family began to grow. So did his curiosity about his biological mother’s experience, giving birth to him and relinquishing him to adoption. You’ll hear Shawn talk about connecting to his mother brothers and how he feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to say thank you for the life he leads. Damon: 01:29 (https://www.temi.com/editor/t/9Ai-yOSCi-FCnkNYDw89eyEWPtc7VsRuUBss-eAJZowl5lqLUt6Vng0agaJHm2t4xP3UXRi9i7D5lCyLxuyKf6864Mw?loadFrom=DocumentDeeplink&ts=89.2) You and I talked quite a while ago about your story. Um, and I’d love to hear some of the details about how, how you grew up as an adoptee. Tell me about your, your family, your family structure when you found out you’re an adoptee and what it was like being an adoptee in your community. Sean: 01:47 (https://www.temi.com/editor/t/9Ai-yOSCi-FCnkNYDw89eyEWPtc7VsRuUBss-eAJZowl5lqLUt6Vng0agaJHm2t4xP3UXRi9i7D5lCyLxuyKf6864Mw?loadFrom=DocumentDeeplink&ts=107.91) Sure. Uh, well, you know, uh, it’s kind of a funny story. Well, at least I’m able to laugh now, but you know, this whole journey for me started in the first grade when I, uh, I’ve found out what adopted meant about a year prior that my, my parents told me that I was adopted. They just didn’t fill in all the blanks for me. They didn’t really tell me what it...

It's the first week of September and spring which brings only one thing: the annual Dog Carrying Festival in China, and the publication of the 2018 Guinness Book of Records! Best time of the year! After Sean and Julza deliberate these crazy occurrences, as well as the Vatican's wacky ban on gluten-free bread, they then indulge in a conversation with Donut King Morgan Hipworth, an incredible 16-year-old who is completely running his own Bistro Morgan, serving up 'seriously good donuts,' while still finding time to get his homework done.
We had an absolute blast as the North Mississippi Endurance Team took to the highway and participated in the Ragnar Trail Race in Atlanta, Ga. Anthony Lane took charge and was able to organize what is essentially a group of derelicts, minus Amanda Horrell and April Hilsdon. Sean Hilsdon was our "go-to" guy when it came to camp set-up, and Drew Womack was there for entertainment and intimidation. April Hilsdon and Amanda Horrell made us look respectable, and Brian Williams was in attendance because of his experience on the trail and background in stealing Sean's personal items. Christian Lemon was our ringer, who blew through the trail as fast, if not faster, than anyone who stepped foot on the course. After Sean was nearly arrested for trying to steal extra hamburgers, I challenged the group to a timed event around the red loop of the trail. They all conceded that they did not possess the speed or the agility that has been bestowed upon me by a loving God. So, I ran an alternative route, which was a little farther, and obviously much more advanced. The guys want to blow it off as my getting lost, but I simply ran a more advanced course. Anthony was rude and disrespectful, as he poured an entire plate of Sean's homemade breakfast on the ground and calling it garbage. April tried to make Sean feel better about the emotional attack, but was inconsolable. This was probably the only window where I watched April act with any affection, as she spent a large portion of her time bullying me, and making me look foolish. April in Sean were in cahoots when they decided to set me up by blaring Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" through the whole camp, and making it appear as it was on my playlist. I was devastated! Spencer Lowery vandalized our bib by tearing off the chip timer. Although one theory is that he had broken the sound barrier and flew into space, burning it up upon re-entry. We all believed to have heard a sonic boom, but it turned out to have been Anthony's gas. Lucinda Anglin, the consummate pro, was there to provide camera footage and aid in production. Her good looks and charm was also used as a distraction while Sean tried to stuff more burgers into his fanny pack. At the end of the day, we had a great trip. I was elected MVP and was hoisted upon the teams shoulders. Amanda was unwilling to take part in the celebration as my body odor was simply too much for her to get within an arm's reach. Next year...expect more of the same. Peace, Love, and all things Beef related, Beefcake
Sean Burns joins Evan and Dave to discuss why Wesley Snipes movies have the best one-liners in their trailers. Since Sean hasn’t seen the week’s big movie JASON BOURNE (at 3:12), he plays a fun game where he tries to guess its plot while Evan and Dave tell him what he got right. Following some jokes about THE BOURNE LEGACY (or THE BOURNE LAZENBY as Sean calls it), some questions about why we got another Bourne movie, and a tangent on Michael Douglas, Sean covers Woody Allen’s CAFÉ SOCIETY (at 34:10). Listeners know that Dave normally hates Woody Allen, however Sean manages to spoilerpiece him into tolerating the movie by sharing how much Allen gives a shit visually in this 1930s outing. After Sean explores its message that “It ain’t like it used to be, and it never was,” he reviews Sian Heder’s TALLULAH (at 48:52), a strong first effort starring Ellen Page and Allison Janney. From there, they all descend into tangents about the Coolidge’s upcoming horror movie marathon and differing opinions on various De Palma films (mainly Sean and Dave’s).

After Sean decides to leave both the show and a revered guest high and dry, Matt attempts to pick up the pieces and plumb the depths of the human psyche all by himself. You don't want to miss this fragile, tender edition of Springtime for Springsteen.
After Sean flees the country, Dean and John drown their beginning-of-the-offseason sorrows with the help of not only DCFC first-year players Charlie MacInnes and Bennett Jull, but also friends Ryan "Bone Ranger" Rumohr and Patrick Cyrul. We complain about whatever Circuit City remainder bin Madison found its video equipment in, complain about the NPSL in general and talk way more about Sex Eagles than Bennett's mother would like. We do, however, get serious long enough to have some meaningful discussions about people reaching out for help to their brother and sister supporters, and what they've gotten in response. Then we talk about Ross Hendry and his love of cooking and cleaning. Ladies. Show notes: Detroit City FC subreddit Open letter from a supporter
