He opens by acknowledging a disappointing week in Houston, losing 5.5 units, bringing his season total to -53.8 units. Minwoo Lee claimed his first PGA Tour title, winning by one over Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland. Though Minwoo only hit 22 of 52 fairways, his dominance on and around the greens—15th in approach and around-the-green, and 2nd in putting—secured the win. Alejandro Tosti, known for his distance (4th at 317 yards), finished T-5 after a solid Sunday despite a rough start. Gary Woodland's emotional runner-up, his best since brain surgery, was fueled by elite putting and iron play. Scottie Scheffler posted his best putting week of 2025 and nearly chased down Minwoo with a final round 63, birdieing holes 13 through 16. Will's picks last week largely faltered. Davis Thompson (T-27) had a strong middle stretch but imploded on the greens Sunday with several missed short putts. Mac Meissner (T-39) drove poorly, finishing 67th in strokes gained off the tee, but impressed with iron play. Tony Finau missed a top-20 finish by two shots due to negative iron stats and a disastrous four-putt on Saturday's 15th hole. Minwoo Lee's top-20 bet hit, but Mackenzie Hughes lost top Canadian to Taylor Pendrith, who posted three rounds of 65. Looking ahead to the Valero Texas Open, Will previews a course demanding driving accuracy and elite short game on firm Bermuda greens. He dismisses favorites Ludwig Aberg (12-1), Tommy Fleetwood (14-1), Patrick Cantlay (20-1), Hideki Matsuyama (20-1), Keegan Bradley (25-1), and Jordan Spieth (25-1) due to recent struggles, poor pricing, or course history. Corey Conners, despite being 18-1, gets a top-10 pick (+175) based on his consistent form and two past wins at TPC San Antonio. Akshay Bhatia, the defending champion, earns a top-20 nod at even money given his recent top finishes. Will's outrights include Denny McCarthy (30-1), praised for elite putting and consistent irons; Bud Cauley (55-1), coming off two top-10s with sharp ball striking; and Isaiah Salinda (110-1), a powerful, accurate rookie who dazzled late in Houston. Woodland, fresh off his emotional T-2, is his sleeper pick for a top-10 finish at 4-1. First-round picks are Cauley (+450) and Salinda (+650) to top-10, both teeing off early. His DraftKings lineup features Bhatia, McCarthy, Cauley, Woodland, Salinda, and Meissner, while the PGA Tour Fantasy roster has Bhatia, McCarthy, Cauley, Salinda (captain), Woodland, and Lee Hodges. With potential wind and rain forecasted, Will predicts a winning score of 16-under. His best bet: Salinda to finish top-20 at 3-1. We have to start today's show discussing the fantastic performance of Min Woo Lee at the weekend, it was wonderful to see, albeit a nerve-wracking finish with Scheffler coming hard at him. Nick and Mark have plenty of praise for Min Woo of course, and plenty of props for his caddy Brian 'Bo' Martin who they give credit to for remaining calm under the pressure on that final day in particular. Nick and Mark say that is the benefit of a great caddy and that Bo is a 'superstar'.Nick tells a story about ignoring his caddy and doing something that he said he would never do on the 15th hole at Augusta, and tells Mark that Min Woo originally was not going to play in Houston at the weekend...phew! Mark comments on Gary Woodland's performance only 18-months after undergoing brain surgery.Nick and Mark have conducted what Mark calls a '60-minutes style' investigation into the international feed and has some disappointing news, but notes that if that is what is provided for The Masters, reaction will go 'nuclear', and that this is what happens when you 'listen to people'.An Australian Open update. Mark has heard that their are some significant financial challenges, he explains what they are, and says that 'James Sutherland needs to call Greg Norman immediately' to set up a meeting with Yasir.Mark's Top 5 today and he talks through his Top 5 'Seve Chips on the final hole' of all time. It's a ripper with some great audio clips, and vision if you're watching on YouTube. And in the PING Global results we chat with trumpeter Anthony, who works in the pro shop at Woodlands Golf Club in Melbourne and is a pretty handy trumpeter - he plays trumpet off a 3-handicap. Is he any good? We find out live on the pod! After that Nick runs us through a huge week of results, with two big Aussie winners this weekend in Min Woo Lee and Steve Allan, we hear some audio of Steve, and Nick and Mark rave about him as a bloke and a golfer. A hugely popular win.Feedback - more on the international feed, we can't possibly read it all, the pod would go 5-hours, but we touch on a couple, and a few comments on Mark's Monty story from last week including a wolf packer who asks Mark about the rumour that Monty kicked Marks ball off the tee at Huntingdale is true or not.....Mark tells the story.Ripper masterclass from Nick today where he talks us through Min Woo's putt off the final green and what we can learn from it.We do the show from Titleist and FootJoy HQ, thanks to our great partners:Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best. It was an SGS-heavy finish at the Texas Children's Houston Open, where Dr. Chipinski, Min Woo Lee, was grouped with podcast favorites Alejandro Tosti and Ryan Fox in the final round. The Doctor was IN on Sunday, with Min Woo barely holding off a charging Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland for his first career PGA Tour win. Andy kicks this episode off with a Victory Monday celebration for PJ, whose hammer came down on the correct player this week in Houston. Brendan and Andy then unpack Tosti's Sunday, a round filled with various run-ins with rules officials and his fellow players. They debate whether the NBC broadcast was too mean to him after repeatedly criticizing his pace-of-play throughout the final stretch. Min Woo gets planety of shine, but his choice to lag putt on both 17 and 18 on Sunday leaves the group wondering if he'll have to give up being Dr. Chipinski moving forward. In Houston Open wrap-up, Brendan and Andy discuss Sami Valimaki tying the course record, Gary Woodland's return to the top of a leaderboard, and Rory McIlroy's new elbow injury he revealed after his top-10 finish. Former Fireball Eugenio Chacarra took down the Hero Indian Open at DLF, securing him a DP World Tour card through 2027 after his departure from LIV at the end of last season. Brendan adds some color from on-the-ground reports at DLF, had only three players finish under par in a weak field for the DP World Tour. On the Champions Tour, Steve Allan won a pro event for the first time in 23 years after getting into the Galleri Classic as an alternate earlier this week. PJ shares some updates from Bob Papa in Champs Tour Minute and alludes to some potential upcoming content with a local Champs Tour legend. In news, Brendan drops that some people inside the moat at PGA Tour HQ are concerned about LIV Miami's broadcast on "Big FOX" this week out-rating the Valero Texas Open. Per request, this episode ends with a short discussion on the new bats in Major League Baseball and how golf can learn from what MLB decides on their legality.

A Saturday finish at the Farmers Open allowed for a Sunday morning recording, so Andy and Brendan went live on YouTube to recap Harris English's fifth PGA Tour win. English gets his flowers as a worthy champion and true professional, shooting a 73 with 12 straight pars to secure a win. Most of the Torrey chatter is about slow pace-of-play yet again, as even Dottie Pepper called out the long Saturday rounds on the broadcast. In other notables, Luke Clanton finished t15, gaining another point in the PGA Tour U standings, and two of this gambling podcast's picks for the week finished in the top 15 as well. Andy and Brendan then check in on the Game Within a Game for the DP World Tour's event in the UAE, where Big Shot Bob Karlsson was the only one to make the cut of the three options. In news, Andy and Brendan discuss more quotes from PGA of America CEO Derek Sprague about "hitting the pause button" on the proposed rollback. In an interview with Golf Digest, Sprague reiterated that the PGA of America would not be in support of the rollback and expressed a desire for golf leadership to gather "all around the table," as if that hasn't happened before. Sponsor exemptions were announced for the AT&T Pebble Beach this week and, as expected, Jordan Spieth is on the list. He's joined by Gary Woodland, Keith Mitchell, and Rickie Fowler, which leads to a short look at Rickie's current status in the game. Finally, Andy, Brendan, and PJ look ahead to their trip to Florida for the debut of the Ballfrogs against Kevin Kisner and Jupiter Links on Monday night.
The never-ending golf news cycle leads to a jam-packed Friday episode as Andy and Brendan unpack a week's worth of stories and rumors heading into the weekend. TGL sent out some team-themed email blasts on Thursday afternoon, so this episode begins with more chatter about the screen golf league and its many marketing campaigns. Brendan and Andy read these team descriptions and discuss how a casual golf viewer might react upon reading that the Atlanta Drive represent the 365/24/7 nature of their city. In outdoor golf news, the Farmers Insurance Open had more withdrawals on Wednesday before play began for the week, with big names such as Will Zalatoris and Gary Woodland bowing out. The tournament is ongoing without a full field despite constant cries about players needing more opportunities to play on the PGA Tour. From there, Brendan and Andy discuss Eamon Lynch's interview with former PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh that was teased on the Wednesday episode earlier this week. First, Waugh is taking credit for Keegan Bradley's appointment as Ryder Cup captain for Bethpage and went into detail about how that choice came to be. Waugh also discussed the new PGA Tour Enterprises corporation and how that's changed the business of golf, wondering if the PGA of America would one day sell the Ryder Cup off. At the PGA Show this week, Adam Schupak sat down with current PGA of America CEO Derek Sprague, who made comments expressing some hesitancy with the proposed rollback starting in 2028. Andy and Brendan discuss what would happen if the rollback was further delayed or even cancelled and how that would impact the game on all levels. In less consequential news about the future of the game, Jordan Spieth committed to the AT&T Pebble Beach, presumably entering via a sponsor exemption, and The Open Championship will return to St Andrews in 2027. PJ chimes in to tell Andy that "Sticks Boy" Noah Kahan is now an investor in the Ballfrogs, which leads the show down a rabbit hole of ranking pop stars. This beefy Friday episode ends with one golf advice email about an upcoming golf trip impacted by a lifelong phobia.
Let's all stop complaining about umpires and recognize what's really important. Cole Ragans. The Royals ace is the single most important player in the series for the Royals and if he's great, the Royals will beat the Yankees. If he's not, they won't. Is Arrowhead haunted? A surprising study shows that it's really hard to catch the ball at Arrowhead at night. Who knew? The NFL was filled with just ridiculously bad coaching Sunday and reminds us that Andy Reid used to be bad at game management. He's so good at it now that all you see is other teams blowing games. College football is wild after 6 of the top 18 teams lose this week... this is getting fun! Donald Trump goes back to Butler, Pennsylvania with some famous friends. If he wins this state... it's all over. The Country Club Plaza is getting a real makeover and it sounds great, Gary Woodland is honored in KC with other pros and a creepy thing is happening right in the middle of Kansas.

As the world of finance continuously evolves, investors and enthusiasts alike are often left navigating a labyrinth of strategies, trends, and noteworthy events. This week's episode of the 'Capitalist Investor' podcast, featuring Tony "The Tiger," Cool Hand Luke, and Derek "Diamond Hands D," dissected a combination of meme stock phenomena and the excitement surrounding the PGA Championship. Let's delve into the five hot topics they covered.1. The Resurgence of Meme StocksThe episode kicked off by touching upon the resurgence of meme stocks such as AMC and GameStop. Luke elaborated on how these stocks are experiencing another wave of investor interest, driven by the fear of missing out (FOMO). However, he expressed skepticism about the longevity of this trend, noting the differences in economic conditions compared to the initial surge during the COVID-19 pandemic. The panel agreed that while the excitement is palpable, the sustainability of these astronomical rises is questionable, given current market conditions and the reintegration of job stability for many potential investors.2. Market Sentiments and the Fear of Missing OutTony and Luke discussed the broader psychological impact of these meme stock rallies on the market. The sentiment of FOMO is powerful but also dangerous. Investors, especially retail traders, are driven by the desire to capitalize on seemingly easy profits, even though similar past events have often ended in steep declines. The question remains whether this enthusiasm is a sign of a healthy market or a precursor to potential downturns, as speculative bubbles tend to burst unpredictably.3. Institutional Versus Retail TradersThe conversation segued into the dynamics between institutional investors and retail traders. Luke pointed out that institutional investors generally engage in these stocks on the short side, while retail traders attempt to inflate prices. However, the possibility of institutions partaking in these trades was scrutinized. The hosts highlighted that unless these retail traders start making substantial, profitable operational changes within these companies, it's hard to see institutional investors diving in for long-term gains.4. The Economic Climate and Market BehaviorA significant concern raised was the impact of inflation and the overall economic climate on these trading behaviors. With inflation eroding disposable income, there's a likelihood of reduced participation from retail investors. Also, stimulus checks that fueled earlier trading booms are no longer in play, offering a stark contrast to the earlier scenario that drove meme stock prices sky-high. As Tony pointed out, people might be taking significant risks out of desperation, an indication that broader economic troubles could be brewing.5. PGA Championship and Golf Betting InsightsShifting from Wall Street to the greens, the crew rounded off the episode by discussing their golf picks for the upcoming PGA Championship at Valhalla. They analyzed the competition, going through favorites like Rory McIlroy and John Rahm while also giving a nod to dark horses like Gary Woodland and Patrick Reed. Derek especially had his eyes set on Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, while Luke was intrigued by Colin Morikawa's potential. This light-hearted segment brought a refreshing contrast to the intense financial discussion, appealing to listeners with a penchant for golf betting. This episode of 'Capitalist Investor' offered a rich tapestry of insights into the volatile nature of meme stocks, the psychology of market behavior, and even some friendly banter on golf. As always, it left listeners with valuable takeaways, reminding them to approach market trends with caution and a critical eye, whether dealing with meme stocks or placing bets on their favorite golfers.Re

We feature several people as topics on this episode of KKHI starting with 2019 US Open golf champion Gary Woodland returning to the PGA Tour this week. Woodland had brain surgery last year and you won't believe hearing what he says it was like for him in the months leading up to it. Incredible. We also have big news about Jesse Watters, Aaron Rodgers, John Kirby and a reporter that got arrested in Canada. Then, Andy Reid drops the perfect quote to dispel any talk of advantages the Chiefs have at Arrowhead Saturday night. Sporting KC has some upset fans because they moved a match to Arrowhead and we have some college basketball to talk about.
Rory McIlroy speaks in Dubai about the future of golf and says he has a plan. Gary Woodland talks about his brain surgery and the incredibly tough and emotional stretch he's been on. Matt Adams gets you ready for the Dubai Invitational and the Sony Open in Hawaii.
Chris Kirk's 14th season on the PGA TOUR couldn't have gotten off to a better start! The former University of Georgia Bulldog wins the first event of the year and gets to join Damon & Eamon on the show. Kirk discusses his favorite shots from the weekend, and how his openness about addiction struggles has helped him find success on tour once again. Gary Woodland is starting his own comeback too. The 2019 U.S. Open Champion is back on TOUR for the first time this week since undergoing brain surgery. Woodland spoke to Todd Lewis about his expectations for the week, and the support he needed to get back to the sport he loves. UCLA Men's Golf star Omar Morales is just at the beginning of his pro journey! The amateur standout joins us before he tees 'em up in the Latin American Amateur Championship in Panama later this week. Over in Europe, Martin Slumbers, head of the R&A Golf Association, has announced he will be stepping down from his role by the end of 2024. John Huggan from Golf Digest stops by to discuss what Slumbers' departure means for the European game, and gives us a primer of what to expect from Rory McIlroy in the season to come. Hunter Dickinson is a freak and when you watch him play for KU all you can ask is, why isn't he in the NBA after years of college hoops? I'm no draft expert but I know this, he's better than everyone else in college and it showed in a stunning performance in KU's win over Kentucky. It's as lopsided as Xi negotiating with Biden. Good people are in focus after 300,000 supporters of Israel gather in DC without a single incident. It's easy to see good people in the world. A listener highlights that for us all with a story that brings your humble host to tears. You don't want to miss this. Then, it's on the to the regular season game of the year as the Chiefs defense prepares to make amends for a poor showing against the Eagles in the Super Bowl. We break down what these two teams are good at and where they struggle. KU football coach Lance Leipold has done a surprising 180 on his qb situation a day after he said he was "very optimistic" Jason Bean would play against KSU. What's going on here? The Big 12 has a tiebreaker mess on its hands with two weeks to go in the football season and it's clear they'd better draw up some plans for having two or four divisions in the league going forward. Gary Woodland is courtside in Chicago after brain surgery, Rory McIlroy resigns from the PGA Tour Board and we have an update on a Seinfeld reboot.
They are expecting tens of thousands of supporters of Israel to march in DC today and we can only hope all these things happening in America stay safe for everyone involved. Our crazy times are getting crazier. The Secret Service is having a bad year as they couldn't figure out the White House cocaine scandal and now carjackers have broken into one of their vehicles and an agent fired a shot at three perps. Nobody was apprehended or arrested and they don't know if the bullet hit the man. It was Naomi Biden's detail. What? A reporter goes a little too far on a train asking questions of a pro Israel Democrat US Senator... these Hamas supporters are a different level entirely. KU coach Lance Leipold says he's very optimistic quarterback Jason Bean will start against KSU Saturday. US Open champ Gary Woodland appears to be recovering well from brain surgery as he posts a photo hitting golf balls on X. The Bills play giveaway to the Broncos, who tried to give it back and Sporting KC is a huge underdog in the conference semi finals but have nothing to lose.
This is a second publication of our earlier podcast that did not show up at Spotify and a couple other services. Sorry for the inconvenience and we hope this publishes wherever you listen to KKHI. Thanks for your support.
After 48 hours of non stop hurricane coverage and no hurricane deaths, here's a take you simply won't hear anywhere else. Hurricane Idalia, statistically, saved at least 19 people from dying in Florida. I'll explain. A new book on Joe Biden is coming out and clearly paints him as a senile, grumpy old man. Diane Feinstein is a mess. But nobody appears to be doing worse than the very, very old Mitch McConnell and it's really hard to watch. Are we even a serious country anymore? Chiefs GM Brett Veach is trying to be optimistic about Chris Jones coming to work but honestly, I'm bored with this story. Let's move on to the Lions and just let me know if he ever shows up. Mizzou is up first with it's opener Thursday night, the computer says they should win by 35. 2019 US Open Champion Gary Woodland faces a major surgery with the stunning news he has a lesion on his brain. And wanna fly in a blimp and eat a sandwich? Our final final explains how you can do this in KC next week.
House and Hubbard start the pod by looking at the updated FedExCup standings and who is on the verge of missing the cut, including Justin Thomas, Joel Dahmen, and Gary Woodland (02:41).
