If you're anything like me, you may find conducting online launches for your programs or events exhausting and sometimes even cringe-inducing. Thankfully, today's guest, Anne Samoilov, is here to help! Anne is a long-time expert in the space who has helmed product launches for Laura Roeder, Marie Forleo, and Jonathan Fields. Today, we're talking about why some of us find big, splashy launches so draining; how to set up automated or evergreen launches (and her take on the pros and cons of these); how to find non-cringey launch strategies; be willing to take on clients or projects that have nothing to do with your business. More About Anne: Anne Samoilov is a launch strategist and VFX Producer. She started her work online as the creator of Fearless Launching, an online training program that teaches impact-driven entrepreneurs how to create simple, streamlined, and standout launches without relying on templates or cookie-cutter strategies. She has also led the VFX teams for TV shows on Paramount Plus and Starz. Check out Anne's podcast, The Fearless Launching Show, where she shares insights and tips on how to have an amazing product or business launch—your way.

If I ever did a list of Amy’s Favorite Things (in honor of the one and only Oprah), today’s topic would be number one. We are talking about PLANNING. Specifically, planning for the new year. The best part is that thanks to my guest today, you can be a pro at calendaring no matter who you are. Anne Samoilov is a launch expert and when I say she knows how to plan...I mean it! Get ready to hear her amazing, no-fail-formula for planning an entire new year of promotions, partnerships, and personal business goals. I’m giving you a solid plan for completing your 2017 promotional calendar from start to finish, and here’s what’s great: it won’t take much time at all. Even better, you don’t need to take any notes, because I have everything detailed in this incredible freebie! It is a quick guide to everything I share with you in this episode, including a list of questions you must ask yourself before you add anything to your calendar for the year ahead. Start planning your 2017 promotional calendar like a boss here! In order to plan you will need to reflect on the prior year and drill down on what worked and didn’t work for you. Then, adjust for the year ahead. Anne and I give you the questions you will want to ask yourself before you calendar anything. This mini-training session will give you a solid approach that you can use for years to come! And, another great thing about today’s episode is the way Anne approaches time off. While it isn’t exactly what you think it might be, you absolutely must include it on your calendar. There are five categories total that you will want to “calendar” first and foremost — time off being the first one. So stop whatever it is you are working on for your year ahead and listen to these steps first. Let’s map out your year. If your calendar for next year is swirling in your head or only partially laid out in a Google doc, this episode is for you. This approach makes planning your 2017 promotional calendar easy — even when you aren’t sure of all of your specifics yet. Episode 38: Launching Fearlessly Guest: Anne Samoilov Happy Halloween! This week’s episode is a perfect fit to the Halloween theme around fear and the fun, excitement and joy that it can bring. This week’s guest, Anne Samoilov helps entrepreneurs, small business owners and consultants through the process of fearlessly launching a product or business, or another type of business launch. Anne says that it’s not about fear, it’s about that moment of committing to the decision to doing something new and taking that leap. Coming up with an idea is the easy part of creating a new business or product but when you haven’t done it before, launching can be a scary and often daunting task. For Anne, she sees it as a production, with particular steps that need to happen for the business or product launch to be successful. The most important thing that anyone should do, according to Anne, is determine who “they” are and start the conversation. Find out who your target audience is and reach out. Do this before you launch your business and get their input (both the good and the difficult to hear). You can also search online and see what people are saying about a particular topic that relates to your business or product idea. While launching a business or product can be intimidating, it is also an exciting time. Once off the ground, it allows you to control your schedule and provides flexibility to accommodate family situations. Don’t let the fear of launching a great idea hold you back because there are people like Anne, who are there to help you. For more information about Anne Somoilov, you can visit her website at www.fearlesslaunching.com, or connect with her on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn. If you liked this episode be sure to share it with those you think might find this valuable. Also, head over to iTunes and write a quick review if you liked what you heard. It has been a great place as far as connecting and kind of really growing." Taylor Bradford "[My Book Club] it has kind of evolved over the years from trying to figure out what really works and like what's feasible because you know everybody's busy and trying to maintain an online book club, what I've experienced in person with books clubs is...what keeps the book clubs going is the in person events so trying to figure that out online has been an interesting ride for sure." Taylor Bradford "I think you would just set yourself up to fail if you didn't kind of have that sitting at the back of your brain that it's going to change, you know your idea once you first pitch it is one of the things on collaborations because you are able to test ideas and products and you know what's feasible, what works, what doesn't work I mean I think that's the nature of any kind of business regardless of collaboration, but it does allow you to see what works and truly what you're trying to do with a collaboration is grow...grow in some way and whether it be to grow your community or grow your brand. I mean you are going to grow. So whether it works or doesn't work it helps you figure out what direction to move or to go, in order to continue to grow." Taylor Bradford "It's expanding your community when you collaborate." Taylor Bradford "I want the value in the podcast and my listeners to take away something from everything I put out there so yeah, for sure I don't go into it thinking ‘yeah this is going to push me over the top!'" Taylor Bradford "When you collaborate with someone else, it kind of opens your eyes to see things differently because the person you are collaborating with may view you in a light that you didn't realize and, I am saying this in a positive way." Taylor Bradford "It almost, in a way, secretly reaffirms that you are on the right path that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing when someone does recognize that in you but you don't yet see it. That's a character builder for me is that I know I'm on that right path when someone approaches me and says, ‘I need to learn everything you know.'" Taylor Bradford "What I think bloggers have that no one else has is we have learned the power of our community. We have learned the power of our social media. And we know how to utilize those things to build our brand and build our market and build what we are saying is important to us. And that's the true power of collaborating...to be able to collaborate maybe with similar paths but you guys can both bring something different to the table." Taylor Bradford "Do you have time to collaborate with somebody? And do they have time to collaborate with you? Because you don't want to put all of your eggs in the basket and for them to put two. You know you want it to be a 50/50 thing so it benefits both of you, regardless of it's your idea." Taylor Bradford QUOTES BY KIRSTEN "I blogged in a vacuum, which is to say I did not talk to any other bloggers, I did not know what was going on and I wish now that I did because I just look back at those years and think how much better of a blogger I would be now had I been really learning or talking to other people or implementing things that I know how to implement now." Kirsten Oliphant "The more I hung around with other bloggers and kind of connected with some of those same bloggers at the Blog Elevated conference also, a whole set of new bloggers, I really just started to soak up information like a sponge and not just information. I joined a little tribe of people after the conference and we all had sort of different kind of blogs." Kirsten Oliphant "One of the biggest things to realize as you're doing [in collaborating] so is that they are going to evolve...sometimes you go into something with one sort of idea in mind of what is will be and then it changes and that's sort of necessary." Kirsten Oliphant "Sometimes people go into podcasting thinking they are going to blow up because they have big guests and they think the guests will share with their list...but I do know that some people share better than others. I'll say and I have heard from other podcasters that you know they interview people and it never gets shared." Kirsten Oliphant "Share without expecting things back." Kirsten Oliphant "When you start collaborating with other people and working with them I think you do start to see that value, and other people see the value, and I have started to see value in myself that I didn't know was there until someone was like, ‘you are so good at this!'" Kirsten Oliphant "I am always learning...I feel like I start to see things differently the more I talk to other people and experts in their fields." Kirsten Oliphant "From the conferences I've been to, I get so much value from connecting with other people and the things that come out of that." So whether or not it's the best thing since sliced bread, if I have to do too much like to make that same kind of whatever it happens to be…I do think now I look at things in a sense of, ‘how is my health going to be affected?' 'Am I going to be stressed out, am I not going to have sleep?'" Taylor Bradford "If you're just sitting there like how are you ever going to get going forward you know if you can't share what you're going through and whether or not it's a setback or a hurdle or whatever it might be, there is probably someone, if not you, that can give some insight." Taylor Bradford QUOTES BY ANNE "I think my biggest obstacle just ever, and if there's ever an issue, it's to do with confidence actually, believe it or not. Something I do just kind of try to convince myself, trick myself that I am confident into doing something. But the belief is something I fight almost, not every single day but if there is something that I start freaking out about it's usually tied to; did I give enough, are my skills enough, do I know what I'm talking about." Anne Samoilov "I always want to help people, but I've had to really reel myself in and do that same thing and say ‘why am I not feeling this?' ‘Why am I not feeling it?' And so for me there's really practical concerns, I have my daughter...there's things that are going on with her school, there might be things that are going on with me and I always remind myself of past times when I didn't say no, and I should have." Anne Samoilov "I started working just toward something. I wasn't sure what it was. But I definitely saw like the day to day of what I would be doing and things I'd be creating and how I would be working with helping people and teaching, definitely teaching, always teaching." Anne Samoilov "The easiest part is creating new things. Because I get excited about new ideas and not just my own but other peoples, so that keeps me engaged and excited in Fearless Launching." Anne Samoilov "The hardest thing has been being myself. But just realizing ‘okay people don't like it, whatever, they can take a walk or whatever' and also getting over myself that anyone really cares if I'm goofy or not." Anne Samoilov "Anytime that I feel anxious and that's as close to fear that I can think. Whether it's related to maybe like my money goal, afraid I'm not going to reach them. What happens when people find out. It's all that kind of stuff. It's all very self-preservation. I'm trying to make sure that I, you know, stay as reputable and respectable as I can. That if I ever feel anxious about those things...the way that I fight it is that I just take action on something. Like I'll just take out my to do list and start taking action and I immediately don't feel anxious anymore." Welcome to the first episode in a series dedicated to creating a successful side hustle – everything you need to know about starting a meaningful business on the side. I'm very excited to be interviewing Anne Samoilov. Anne is a full-time mom, business + launch strategist whose main goal in life is getting you to launch — your ideas, your […] The post Episode 23: Anne Samoilov – Are You Launching Forward Or Standing Still? first appeared on Michael Knouse.
The first time I interviewed this lady, I got a lot of comments on how hilarious we are together. I think when women are comfortable with their dorky sides, it's a fun conversation! Anne Samoilov is the Goddess of the Launch. After spending the last three years running launches for Laura Roeder's LKR, she's (finally) branching out on her own, kicking butt and taking names.
Anne Samoilov is a well known launch expert, who has helped some of the most popular entrepreneurs ready and launch some of the most popular courses and events. Despite this, she is still humble and in fact hilarious to talk to. In this episode, we go behind her course Fearless Launching, dish a little about some clients, and take a peek at her former life as a lead singer. Seriously.
On this episode of the Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast, I interview Anne Samoilov, on the topic of online launches. I consider Anne to be an online launch expert, and while that's not a title she would likely give herself, it's very fitting. Anne has worked on several big online launches including Marie Forleo's B-School launch that you have may heard me talk about in episode 3. It's a strategic and smart strategy to think about the promotion of your business in terms of launches, and I wanted to interview Anne because she has a unique, holistic look at launching anything online that I know you'll find helpful. In this episode, here’s what we’ll cover: How Anne defines launching (it's not what you think!) A common misconception regarding launches How to set a foundation for a successful launch How having the right systems in place can free you up to be creative How to make sure you're targeting the right people And so much more!
